Tapas Tapas - Waterloo in Sefton

Out of 4 people, 2 got forgotten about. We had to remind them. So half of our company started to eat 20 mins after the other 2. Started badly with the waitress delivering a bottle of wine to the table with the cork stir in situ. We got one of our bottles of wine for free. But it didn’t negate the poor experience we had. This night followed on from a similar experience there a month ago. The food was really nice. But none of us will be returning anytime soon. Twice bitten thrice shy.

Good selection of tapas dishes and decent value too. Pleasant service. Lively atmosphere and altogether we had a very enjoyable evening here.

Enjoyed eating lots of small plates of tapas here on Saturday evening. Good value, great atmosphere and very tasty food. We especially enjoyed the belly pork with cherry sauce and the ribs with BBQ sauce. Everything thing served was piping hot and well presented. Wine is also very reasonably priced. Enjoyed a couple of generous cocktails too. We were very well looked after by Ella who was both friendly and knowledgeable.

Visited here with friends in July 2024 as we've developed a habit of visiting a new place as a group each month. Tapas Tapas is certainly up there with one of our favourites. I would recommend getting 3 small plates each, it may not seem like a lot but trust me you will be full. The small meat paella was delicious, as were the salt & pepper halloumi fries (albeit I would maybe say could have done with a couple less of these as halloumi can be quite filling/sickly). Chorizo in honey was also lovely. I had a porn star martini to drink and couldn't complain about that. For dessert we all had ice-cream which was equally lovely and served in a really good quantity in what I would describe as a sundae glass. Overall, lovely tapas location, not far from the beach, staff pleasant, food very good, would recommend and will visit again.

The most wonderful restaurant in Waterloo. The choice of food is fantastic and catering for gluten free is such a benefit. Been here over so many years, All the staff are brilliant. Tapas Tapas is the highlight of visits to back to Liverpool. An essential visit for any food lover. 👍

Lovely little place. Came without a booking but they managed to find us a table. Made us feel really welcome. All the staff were great and it had a really lovely feel and looked like a lot of customers were regulars. Cocktails were great - cosmopolitan wasn’t too bitter probably one of the best I’ve had! All of our dishes were lovely although we definitely ordered too much. The best dish for me was the veggie paella and the only place I’ve been that lets you order an individual portion! Massive portion sizes for a tapas restaurant and for the price you can’t really do better!

The best place ever. My family favourite place for dinner. Went with friends tonight who have never had tapas before and they loved every dish and where impressed with the food and cocktails in equal measure. Always lovely friendly staff. Will miss one of the waiters who will be leaving to start a new journey and his lovely smiley face and our little laughs weve had but every single member of staff is friendly and welcoming. Such a lovely ambience and warm atmosphere. Brad, the manager is one of the nicest most down to earth people who always has time for a chat and makes sure you are happy with everything. Nothing to fault about this little Waterloo gem.

This is one of my favourite tapas bars. The food is always amazing and the service is spot on. The gambas pil pil is some of the best I have ever eaten.

We received a great welcome, very friend staff. Fantastic food, we ordered 4 vegetarian and 2 meat dishes - no other words than yum. Quick service too. The candy floss cocktail was phenomenal. It’s 80 miles from our hometown but would definitely visit again. Highly recommended .

We went here for an early dinner during our family date day. The food was delicious and every authentic. We took advantage of the 3 tapas for £17 offer, but added a few extras as tapas is our favourite food. Each dish was delicious in its own right. Some of my favourites from what we ordered were; gambas pil pil, chorizo in red wine and honey and the patatas bravas. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond. Our daughter is 4 and the staff were great with her, making her an off-menu mocktail and playing along with our colouring competition to win a chocolate ice cream for dessert. I would have no hesitation in returning here or recommending to friends.

We went to Tapas Tapas for my birthday. Such a great choice as the meal was lovely and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. The food was fantastic, every dish was delicious and so much choice too. The service was top notch all the staff were friendly, professional and couldn't do enough for you. We also made use of the 10% off voucher given with the bill and headed over to Bodega Del Lobo for after dinner cocktails - the spicy margarita is a must try! Thanks for a fantastic night. We will defiantly be back soon!

Tapas Tapas never disappoints, the food and service were excellent as usual. The ever changing specials on the menu ensure there is always something new to enjoy. The service is superb with just the right amount of attentiveness, a highly enjoyable experience which we will be repeating soon! Totally recommended.

Aided just gets better and better. So professional and attentive - he's a real ambassador for brand Tapas Tapas. Put simply out favourite Spanish restaurant. The food is always excellent with plenty of choice and wonderful service! The cocktails are a must try as well. We will be back soon - hasta luego!

Another visit with my wife for a lovely meal at Tapas Tapas. The food was as delicious as always with a few changes and new dishes on the menu. We opted for 8 tapas between us some we had previously and some we tried for the first time. We particularly enjoyed the croquets and the meatballs. A change we noticed was the white fish is now served with chips and peas where previously it was with aleoli which we preferred but we still selected it as one of our choices and enjoyed it just the same.

Our favourite tapas restaurant in the Liverpool area. We’ve tried lots of tapas places in the city centre but yet to find one that tops Tapas tapas in Waterloo. A great choice for a family meal as there’s something for everyone.

Absolutely brilliant service and really helpful when choosing food for my daughter who has an allergy. All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and a good price. The ox cheek special was delicious as was the honey goats cheese and tempura vegetables (not sure of the correct name) will definitely visit again soon.

This is the third visit for us which says a lot given the options available on south rd. Waterloo. The staff are very good and the food excellent. We are particularly pleased with the gluten free option as one of our party is gluten intolerant

I have been to this local restaurant many times, most recently in April. It is probably the nicest Tapas venue in Liverpool. Try the patatas bravas, meatballs, black pudding (oh yes) - in fact just order the lot!!

Had a very enjoyable evening meal here, the food was good quality, plenty of it and served by friendly staff. Pretty extensive menu, good offer of three tapas for £17 and overall good value for money.

After poor first impressions due to staffing levels our afternoon at BarBodega improved steadily. The food was excellent and the manager apologised for our early issues. We will definitely go back in the future.

La comida es la típica de tapas con algunos añadidos que queremso dedicar peculiar - Español mi hijo de 4 años me dice es delicioso, ya que no compartirlo. El personal es cálido y amable, y hacen todo lo posible por satisfacer tus necesidades e. g. de salsa en el lateral, etc.

Fuimos un sábado por la tarde para tomar algo rápido, terminamos quedándonos mucho más tiempo! Tenía un cóctel, aperitivos, postres y café, tenía un agradable ambiente relajado, la comida y las bebidas eran buenas y el personal era amable y servicial, volveremos pronto, las tapas se veía encantadora!

Mother's Day meal, we were a party of four. We were seated by a lovely friendly Spanish man. once we had ordered No one came near again other than to deliver the food. Despite, or maybe because of, being seated by where the staff stood and served from, they didn't ask if the food was ok, they didn't clear away the plates even when they had been stacked for over 10min at the end of the table, they didn't offer the dessert that went with the children's meal, when I asked for it they didn't offer a dessert menu for the adults, I asked for this but it didn't come!

We used to regularly go to restaurant in city centre and was disappointed when changed to a grill but travelling to Waterloo is no real inconvenience considering the quality of the menu and the food itself if looking for tapas and like sharing would recommend

We had a fantastic meal here. Tasty and fresh. Excellent service - the manager even took time out to speak to our 6 year old and make sure she had a good time. Can't fault anything and the blue cheese mushrooms and the gambas pil pil were delicious. I hope to return.

This was the first time we have visited this restaurant as it is far from were we live. We were disappointed when the city centre one closed as it was our favourite so finally made the trip to Waterloo to come back for more tapas.I was not disappointed!!It was so good! As good if not better than how I remembered it from the other one, all homemade and delicious! We used the tastecard which gets you 241 at certain times and saved us lots of money on the bill. We also got a jug of sangria with our meal which was a large jug and well made! Can't wait to go back again! My favourite tapas ever!

Went with my friend for a birthday lunch treat. The food was fantastic and at £5.95 for 2 tapas, very good value. We had ordered 4 between us and was enough for us. Also had a jug of sangria which was lovely.The staff are very friendly. Definitely recommend it.

We were visiting the area from the south coast so didn't know which restaurants were good. We ate upstairs as the bar area was busy. The table was wiped but sticky and I exchanged my plate for another as it had a big chip out of it. The second plate was chipped too so I ate off one of the serving dishes. The waitress was barely listening when we ordered drinks so the waiter had to take them back - which he did without complaint but we felt slightly as if we were being a nuisance. The food was very good but we had fewer dishes than usual as they were quite expensive. Maybe they would benefit from being a little less laid back and pay more attention to detail to make you feel you've had value for money. I'd score the service as low but the food as high.

I used to work here a month after it opened for 2 years. It used to be busy no matter what day of the week to the point of turning people away unless they had booked! The food is still nice and good that they offer tastecard... But the food and atmosphere just isn't what it was many years ago as unfortunately the chef (Ronnie) left with all of his team and recipes! Bring back the days of sweet chilli chicken and potatoes tapas!!!

Tapas tapas is in no doubt one of the best tapas restaurants around I have never had to complain about this place! Been multiple times with friends , family , with my partner and it has a nice atmosphere with even nicer food, they also have a cocktail bar downstairs so it's great to go down either before or after your meal and is situated on the lovely south road full of bars

Just had a lovely meal at bar bodega (tapas tapas). If you love a chilled laid back atmosphere stay down stairs in the bar and order tapas as you fancy it.Great scoff

Well, to start my review let me just say Well it was a random Wednesday night and yet as soon as we walked through the door we were greeted with a nice smile and someone to show us to a table. Initially we just wanted a few cocktails and no food and we noticed there was a '2 4 £10' deal on cocktails so we jumped right in. We chose the 'drumstick' cocktail and it did not disappoint. Tasted absolutely fabulous, just really lovely. A lot of thought was put into it, nothing thrown together.After our second cocktail (the mango mojoto, which also was amazing!!) we decided to have a bit of food. Now my friend is celiac so he cannot have anything gluten at all. I am gluten free by choice, for health reasons, and we looked at their menu to find a stunning range of GF choices!! We opted for....The Patatas Bravas The Seabass on spicy beansThe Spanish Omelette The Spanish Sausage and Mash.4 tapas dishes were plenty for 2 and I can honestly say that with every mouthful we were both commenting on how delicious it was.I would HIGHLY recommend, I promise you will not be disappointed.Also, a little extra gem, the music....it is fabulous. You can go from Bowie to Maroon 5 in a heartbeat, but it's only the best of what every artist has to offer.

Visiting Liverpool with my teenage daughter and booked here for dinner. Friendly, welcoming staff, great selection of beers, offers of non alcoholic cocktails for my daughter and really great tasting food. All at a very reasonable price. If this was local to me, I'd be eating here all the time. If ever I'm this way again, I'll be sure to come again.

Service is the only advantage of this place: girls and guys are really helpful, kind and smiling. Unfortuantely food is not this standard - in fact it is no standards and for sure not Spanish standards. Food is tasteless, done without knowledge what tapas is (portions are huge). It is very crowdy and loudy inside but it has atmosphere.I will not return anyway.

We visited Tapas Tapas for the first time on Monday 15th June, the place was quiet but still had a great, authentic atmosphere. The food was great, the service was better again! Would try again! Great value for money!

I am from Spain and I was on my way to Crosby beach with my boyfriend when we came across with 'Tapas Tapas', and we decided to have lunch inside.The atmosphere of the restaurant and the taste of the food are the same than in Spain. Everything was really good, the boss of the place was very nice with us, as well as the waitress.I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in Spanish food, cocktails and good beer.

My girlfriend and me are spanish. We went to Crosby Beach to see the Iron Man sculptures, made by Antony Gormley. So, we went into this restaurant, just to know how the spanish food is in Liverpool. Well... We have to say that it is really really amazing... Calamares, patatas bravas, tortilla de patatas y presa ibérica, that is what we ate. If somebody wants to eat spanish food without going to Spain... Must visit it. Absolutely recommended.By the way, order a Estrella Galicia, one of the best spanish beer. The sangría, made by Alejandro, reeeeeally good.And finally, the time table is from 12pm, I say that because i just saw in TripAdvisor that it was from 5pm. Just in case...

My husband and I went last week as a last minute decision. Certainly no regrets. We had fabulous cocktails followed by 3 tapas each. We both ordered a 4oz steak and it was amazing. To accompany our food we also had a jug of sangria which was a bit strawberry milkshake in colour but wow! It tasted delicious. We were served buy a very nice young man who we watched preparing our cocktails and he was amazing.

Pasando unos dias en Liverpool me acerque a Crosby a ver la playa, luego dando un paseo llegue hasta Waterloo y ví por casualidad el restaurante. Entre, ya que me llamó la atención su nombre. Fue una grata sorpresa ver que es un restaurante de tapas realmente español donde te puedes sentir como en casa. Alejandro, un almeriense que trabaja allí, es un tío muy majo y de nota que no descuida un detalle para mantener la esencia de lo que realmente debe ser un trocito de España aunque sea en Liverpool.Realmente lo aconsejo si quieres comer bien y sentirte cómodo, comiendo unos platos muy bien preparados y estupendamente presentados.Por cierto, además de jamón serrano de verdad , tienen San Miguel, Mahou, y Estrella de galicia; ¿se puede pedir mas?... ;-)I was walking around Waterloo, ( Liverpool) and I saw a restaurant called "tapas" then I came in it and I could watch that it was a nice real Spanish restaurant. There is a real Spanish food and you can eat very good. I recommened this typical Spanish restaurant if you want to taste real Spanish food. It is very nice.

We came across this restaurant purely by chance ... Great place. Warm atmosphere. Lovely wine.. Fantastic tapas tortilla chicken& chorizo garlic prawns gorgeous & generous portions. Great service& friendly staff. Will definately be going back again soon

This is a nice restaurant but the menu del mia appears to be some sort of secret menu which has to be asked for all the time. At first i thought this was a mistake but it has happened on a number of occassions making me think staff are trained not to automatically offer this menu. Please stop trying to pull the wool over customers eyes it is very annoying. A big board sits outside enticing people in for the cheaper menu but once you're in you feel embarrased having to ask for this menu. This place has all the attributes to be really good yet us let down by this psrticular issue. Please stop this from happening.

We visited Tapas Tapas after being enticed by the Menu Del Dia and weren't dissapointed by either the food or the service. Perfect for a post work wind down - the Sangria is highly recommended.

My husband and I decided to try somewhere different for lunch and came across tapas tapas. It has a nice clean look to it and the prices were relitivly cheap. I think perhaps this place must thrive at night but lunch time was slightly underwhelming. The food was delicious (although the portions were much bigger than I have usually experienced with tapas so there was a lot of waste!). We were the only people in here this particular lunch time yet service was still a bit slow and there were items on the menu that were unavailable but as I said earlier perhaps this would be different during the evening? Parking round the area is not great but staff were pleasant and the food was enjoyable, I wouldn't return for lunch but may try one evening.

My husband and I havnt been here for a while, and we were glad to come back. Food just lovely. Meatballs to die for. Gambas pil pil and mussels the same. 50% off with tastercard. Service and staff great. We the popped downstairs for cocktails. Two for £10...yummy. looking forward to our next visit.

Great authentic Spanish restaurant, very homely, nice decor and the food was delicious. We came here on a weeknight with a tastecard for a romantic celebration - couldn't decide what to order, so ordered the majority of the tapas menu. We were not disappointed!! - the tomato garlic bread was absolutely phenomenal and everything else tasted equally amazing. My husband particularly enjoyed the Spanish bangers and mash! The sangria was a little different to what I'm used to, more like a cocktail, and was a little expensive I thought - (£5 for smaller than a half pint glass) but it was nice nonetheless. The restaurant was quite quiet while we were there, with only two other tables, so my only suggestion would be to replace the endless Shakira songs with some gentler acoustic Spanish guitar to better suit the atmosphere :) We had a lovely time and will be returning

I've been here several times now, with family and with friends. The service is always fantastic, just the right level of attentive. Particular favourites from the menu are the cod skewers, mushrooms with blue cheese sauce, goats cheese with honey and walnuts, and courgette and aubergine fritters with honey. We go with my taste card, which makes it even better value. Haven't hesitated to recommend the place!!

Haven't been here since the place had been refurbished a few years back but thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great service, lovely cocktails and tapas. Goats cheese and the lamb stew were the real stand outs. looking forward to return and try a few more dishes!

Here for a few days with a friend and came across this amazing restaurant, for lunch (on a Monday ). We chose two tapas each,to share. And a glass of wine each. The food was glorious, tasty,good portions,beautifully presented,hot. The service was excellent - friendly & attentive. It was one of the best meals I've had in ages. Well worth it too. We paid £20.90 for all that. The place is small downstairs, but in the evenings it turns into a bar (Bar Bodega) & upstairs there's a large restaurant. All the same the area downstairs for lunch was very pleasant. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited the restaurant with my husband and two young daughters for a mother's day lunch. The service we received was excellent from start to finish, from the point of booking online to the end of our actual visit. The food was very good and reasonably priced and we were made to feel very welcome despite our 3 year old being a bit messy, as all toddlers are! The staff were friendly and attentive and made the whole experience a pleasure. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Booked Tapas Tapas for my daughters birthday. Very easy & clear to book online. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Food Fab, staff & Service Fab lovely Spanish atmosphere they even sang Happy birthday as they brought her birthday cake out nothing was too much trouble All in all Fab night. chose six authentic spanish tapas meals and we have to say everyone of them was delicious ,especially the spanish black pudding,probably the best we have tasted outside of madrid,superb service and an absolute bonus to be given 25 per cent off our bar bill after the meal,

Value for money, great service, nice music and perfect place for Small parties. We had our friend's 30th birthday in this restaurant and we had a great time. Definitely recommend.

For local bar restaurant it has friendly staff, really nice tapas and great music especially when the manager is in - he has a great playlist. Informal prefer to eat downstairs - lighting nice and dim and some good wines at reasonable prices.

Visted tapas tapas for the first time on saturday, Waited 50 mins for drinks after we where seated, I understand saturday nights can be busy but this was abit extreme (Friends who had been before said they had never waited this long before). The Waitress who served us kept forgetting what we ordered and had to ask us several times what we wanted, Starters took a very long time to arrive nevertheless the Tapas was really nice and I would visit again aslong as the service improves.
