lunchtime time specials are a good deal

Food is ok but nothing special, drink was not with my meal which ruined the experience as I had to go back this has happened before service is quite poor

Chips were fairly nice, both sausage were so dry. Not very forthcoming with gravy

Ordered fish and chips today and it’s one of the worst I have had. The batter was a soggy mess and the chips were like rubber- very disappointing and will put me off returning.

Really poor service. Whole meal missing from order. Called the to request the meal be delivered. Was told that the shop is now closed and so I all they could do is refund the food. So had to order a meal from another shop or a one person would have had no meal.

Gluten free options didn't agree with my wife. The food seemed tasteless, although it wasn't greasy.

Quality absolutely spot on as always and arrived in no time. Delivery driver always super friendly too!

Food was delicious however 3 items were missing from meal deals which I had paid for. Awaiting confirmation of a refund as I didn’t fully get what I paid for.

Food was good but an item was missing when delivered (Reg chips) which meant one of us had to beg some chips from the other three. Being refunded by Just Eat hopefully

Had the gluten free cod and chips from here, along with their gluten free curry sauce. Fish was delicious, chunky flakes of Cod, and crispy and the chips were the best I have had in a long time. I love that they now do gluten free beer and have other menu items to cater for my coeliac requirements.

Chips excellent, spicy curry sauce excellent, however the Haddock was of significantly poor quality. Soft greasy batter not of the standard of the old shop. Not the white meaty flakes you would expect from quality Haddock. I have purchased better from Captain Birds Eye. The standards and quality have dropped significantly since this shops inauguration!! Sad really 😪

Was expecting better. Large Cod wasn’t that large and the batter was well below average. Gutted

Ordered a meal for convenience however it was over 2 hours late and we tried to ring several times and there was no answer! Decided there was no option but to drive all the way to the place and was then informed that the driver was at my address, horrendous service and no refund at all for the inconvenience! Avoid as defeats the point of ordering food! 0 stars if I could give it that !!

Perfectly seasoned & served within 10 minutes as requested.

The delivery was so fast but the food was very disappointing. Uncooked batter was dripped onto the chips. Very disappointed overall, the soggy batter and chips were undercooked and wasn’t what I expected from Fylde.

Fish and chips was hot and absolutely delicious! Delivery took a while but understandable on Friday evening! Would definitely recommend!

Always the best fish n chips ever.

I’ve not visited for a while and have been trying to tell myself that other fish and chips shops (nearer to me or deliver to my address) are as good - in summary, they aren’t! Did click and collect and the quality of everything (fish, batter, chips, homemade steak pie) was simply better than anything we’ve had elsewhere.

Food was lovely but the food was cold

I had been looking forward to this Friday treat takeaway but must have been very unlucky with my order at Birkdale of two regular sized fish, soggy batter and over cooked fish, the large portion of chips was underdone and not plentiful. Peas were great however. I also wonder if the prices were higher at this shop? Sadly my first and last time at Birkdale. Will stick to Fylde Road in future.

hubby had the homemade steak pie dinner he loved it said the pie was gorgouse I had the haddock fish dinner was yummy fish was the best I've had for along time from a chippy 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

Chips were undercooked, chicken burger wasn't great and no salad, also fish was soggy. Delivery driver was friendly though

Still the best. Dunno how but it seemed even nicer than the first time I ordered. Perfect crispy batter perfectly cooked chips.nothing soggy. Good portions. Even individually wrapped salt n vinegar for you to choose to put on or not. They thought of everything. Loved it. And will be returning for my 3rd fish n chips from here soon. Thanks from Annette

Best gluten free chippy in the north west

When trying to order online most options are unavailable on their website

Had to throw all the chips away. Inedible. Are they rehearing them all the time as couldn’t even chew one? Fish was mediocre.

Quality and price are great. Food is always delicious. More choice for smaller eaters. So clean !!

Food was delivered 50 minutes after ordering and my fish and batter sadly not up to usual standard….disappointed!

The food was excellent and we had no complaints. It was just a pity that it was delivered 20 minutes after the original time frame given (18:10 to 18:30) expired. The reason was shown as a delay at the restaurant.

Called in for a takeaway having looked forward to Fish and Chips all day. First time at this chippy, and boy, was I disappointed. It cost £18 for fish and chips x2. I went for the Haddock, as we find it has more flavour than Cod, even though the cod was a little cheaper. These fish cost over £6 each. I could have bought 4 juicy rump steaks for £12 at the supermarket. I was expecting a chunky fish with lovely slithers. However, the fish was very poor, no taste, and very thin. The batter was thin and tasteless too. The chips were just ok, nothing special. We threw most of the meal in the bin, and will never go back here.

Driver was extremely polite and respectful. Topped off our evening with a spot on attitude 👍🏻 Food was great hot and delicious. Great end to an evening 💯

Fair size portions, excellent quality Fish, would like the option to order Salt and Vinegar, but would use again.

Order was placed and accepted at 17:35. Delivery time estimated between 17:50 and 18:15. After 10 minutes or so, this was revised to between 18:15 and 18:45 with the reason being that the restaurant needed more time ? It eventually arrived at 18:40, over an hour since the order was placed. How long does it take to cook 3 small fish and two lots of chips ?

There was literally no chicken in either of the curry dishes. At a cost of £9 per portion, I feel utterly disappointed at having purchased the food. And sadly I actually feel as though I’ve been ripped off.

The shop is immculately clean, tidy and very welcoming. The staff are so friendly, kind,welcoming at all times. They make me feel so special and are very easy to talk to and extremely approachable. The level of service and customer service is excellent. The food quality is ecxellent the chips are lovely, golden and are delicious the best chips in Southport and the cod is so fluffy, tastey. Love going here and even happier now they offer gluten free chicken curry. Always impressed with the amount of food- chicken curry half and half was plenty for two of us- we had a gluten free sausage each too. Impressive knowledge of gluten free and coeliac safe procedures- friendly staff. Will be returning- thank you fylde!

Ordered 2 large fish and chips and were really disappointed swimming in grease soggy batter. Chips full of eyes and some look rotten. Won’t waste my money here again as most went to the birds.

I ordered a sausage meal that says it comes with two sausages but only one came. Also called the restaurant and asked for salt and vinegar on the chips but when they came there was no salt and vinegar on them. Also chips were over cooked.

We ordered a delivery for x 3 fish and chips, gravy and mushy peas. Food was excellent, arrived on time, hot and tasty. Friendly staff and good value for money. We eat here regularly and highly recommend it.

So, last evening (April 15) I went to the fish bar and ordered small cod, small fries and their own tartar sauce. I was given ticket 607 and waited. And waited. 606,608,609 came and went. Delivery orders the same. Eventually I went back to the till and asked what had happened to my order. The girl saw it on a high shelf and said, 'there it is'. No apology. Chips soggy, fish soggy, all gone cold. Never again.

As a Coeliac it's always great when you find Fish & Chips ....wherever you are in the UK! These GF Fish & Chips were lovely...GF curry sauce too...always a bonus! Everything was labelled & kept separate. The staff were very friendly...would highly recommend & looking forward to my return visit! 😊👍

Horrible, nearly all small bits of overcooked chips, won't be returning, given them enough chances, one nice meal in five is just not good enough.

we ordered two fish and chips with mushy peas for 5.30, the order arrived at 6pm, it was obvious it had not come straight from the fish bar, the chips were soggy and cold as was the fish, the batter soft instead of being crisp, the mushy peas were not much better, such a disappointment as we were looking forward to them, they had obviously been in the carrier bag so long the it too was wet and soggy, not even worth £10, not value for money and we will not be using them again

Fylde Fish Bar is the best for fish, chips and mushy peas. The gravy from there is amazing. The quality is perfect, and the flavours are lovely. Looking forward to returning soon.

The same soggy greasy tasteless batter. The cod was obviously old and dry. The haddock was oily but fresh and tasteless. Portions are small. Plenty chips undercooked. The staff are warm and friendly. The fish and chips in Southport must be the worst in uk because we have now tried every fish and chip shop in Southport so you should not be insulted you are as bad as everyone else apart from The King’s Plaice.

My fish was grey!!! Never seen anything like it before! Couldn’t eat it. Chips pale and soggy! Peas ok

The premises are spotless and the haddock, chips and peas are the best I've ever had. Not only delicious but definitely no skimping on the food. It came in a biodegradable container, the fish is responsibly sourced and the staff friendly and helpful. I can't fault this place.

Food taste good but tight portions, struggled splitting a LARGE portion of chips between two children. I think that if you got that at any other chippy as a regular portion you would not be happy. Never mind, the hunt for a decent local chippy continues.
