Tandoori Night in Richmondshire

We went here for dinner when family visited, we took our own wine and has some sparkling water at the table. Excellent service including roses for the ladies as we left and plentiful good food.

Food was bland and very watery (like it had been frozen and reheated). Starter wasn't what I expected (or had had previously). Delivery was on time and piping hot.

Food was late. 'Tikka naan kebab' was actually doner meat with a bit of dry tikka chicken. Sag aloo was watery and so spicy it was inedible. Wish I read the reviews before ordering!

The madras was far to hot. I couldn’t enjoy the food and had to leave it.

Sorry but a no from us, just really flavourless. Couldn't tell the difference between the two curries seemed quite watery with no vegetables just sauce and a bit of meat. Disappointed as really enjoy the kebabs from here but wouldn't go for a curry in future.

Was late but we live at a odd address, the food arrived hot and was delicious!

Awful food! We ordered two of the specialities, thinking they would be quite nice. We plated them up and then used 6 large squares of thick kitchen roll EACH to mop up the water that our food was swimming in. Dreadful. We couldn't eat it, it was disgusting and we will never order from here again. Shame the decent two Indian restaurants in Richmond don't deliver. This is the worst we have ever attempted to eat!

We have just wasted £25+ on disgusting food that we couldn't eat! It's in the bin. We ordered 2 chef specialities, thinking they would be lovely. After plating up, our food was swimming in water. We used 6 sheets of kitchen roll EACH on our plates mopping up all the water. The naan bread was more like an undercooked flat bread. Just the worst indoan food we have ever tasted. There are 2 excellent Indian restaurants in Richmond, Amontola and Taj Mahal, go to one of those it's quality food and really tasty. Sadly we needed a delivery and the best restaurants no longer deliver. Stay away from here it's really awful. I've taken photos just to remind me why we don't eat here!!

Sent wrong order. Paid extra for butter chicken and sent a plain Korma

Very late to arrive. Rice was wet. Main dishes were unpleasant.

Food was cold. Food was mainly sauce with 2 pieces of meat. Not great all round.

Absolutely awful service. We ordered at 1850 and didn’t receive our food until 2100, leaving us having to find alternative food for our daughter so she could get to bed. We didn’t even receive the correct order, but ate it anyway as we were hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer. We also didn’t receive the drink we paid for. When I phoned the restaurant, the guy was very apologetic but then hung up the phone before I could even respond. Not happy at all and we will not be using this restaurant again, which is ashame as the food tasted nice.

The chicken korma didn’t even taste like chicken korma, it was very watery and literally left a puddle of water in my bowl. The rice wasn’t even fluffy and was a little hard and the nan bread was soggy and gross. Won’t be ordering from here again. Wasted my money.

Great restaurant with excellent service and really tasty food

This is the worst food....not just take away! The worst food I have ever encountered ! I dearnt eat it ( I apologize for my spelling) because I have work tomorrow .I am a chef of some renown having cooked for Ramsey and Martin along with others ....this is terrible and I would never submit my enemy to this .the only reason I give it one star is because I can't give it no star

Delivery was great but the food itself was disgusting. Over salted to the point I couldn't eat it so it had to be thrown in the bin. Will not order again.

Said it was delivered at 8.25 but rang at 9.20 when it still wasn’t delivered and was told it was just the app that gave automated text and the order was out for delivery. Received order 1 hour late, one of the orders was for kabab and chips. Received donner meat and chips, would have expected at least a pita bread or salad, but neither, donner meat was dried and curled up. Will ask partner what they thought of curry as they had gone to bed by the time it was delivered Very disappointed of order worth over £15

Food quality was fine, but the app was updated to show the food as delivered when it hadn't even left the restaurant. While the app showed 50 minutes expected delivery, it took nearly 2 hours to arrive. Would have made a different choice if they'd been up front about delivery time.

Do not eat at this place. Its got to be the worse curry in england by far,and the staff have got to be the most arrogant aswell....

Staff - very rude and always interupt with your concerns regarding customers opinions. Food quality - Food taste not too bad, however very dry, you need sauce with your food. They will charge you extra for this. Salad- Wow one lemon, one cucumber, 3 small slices of red onion and a tiny bit of lettuce. Other than that 2 x kebabs £15, really not worth it! I did risk this order and will never do it again AVOID!!

Walked in to get takeaway, never again,naan kebab, naan was rock hard, meat dry, very thin slices of chicken about 5 of them, onion bhaji "tasted better in asda", mint sauce like water no taste, king prawn bhaji on puree, did not eat it as i was not sure it was worth the risk.

Food amazing! Restaurant were alright handling the late comments and calls. Late food is annoying because it actually tasted extremely good!! would definitely have again, just disappointed in the delivery.

Absolutely appalling service. Rang 3 times and was fobbed off . Order should of arrived between 830 and 8.50pm . Arrived at 22.05pm . Very disappointed please sort refund ASAP

Took 3 hours to arrive and the order was incorrect not enough food came. Gave 1 price of cake for free for the inconvenience for a order over £80!!! If we were in a restaurant we would have complained

Ordered a delivery & was told 40 mins just over an hour later it turned up. The food was very tasty altho not sure about pineapple in prawn dansak different but tasty …was it filler to save on prawns ? Mango chutney was disappointing very watery. Ordered garlic naan & got plain, mushroom rice was very fragrant lovely & to be fair my Hubbie & friend were more than happy with their chicken & lamb curries respectively. Would I recommend yes I would as despite the minor discrepancies & the wait it was worth the wait, value for money & most importantly tasty.

Awful service- food was ordered and over two hours later it still hasn’t arrived. Have been told multiple times that the driver is on his way/ 5 minutes away for the last 40 minutes.

Do not get a tikka fry it is a waste of money.

Found the chicken very dry and the sauce quite watery. But the naan bread I ordered was fantastic. Absolutely no problems with delivery or service. Just a shame about the chicken.

The last two times I have ordered from here the curry has been very watered down. When I put the curry on a plate with the rice, the water seeps to the bottom and pools on the plate, makes the rice soggy. Shame coz they used to do brilliant food. Will not order again.

Not good! Cheesy chips came in a paper bag…so the cheese was all stuck to the paper. And I ordered a large special kebab naan. It was no different to a regular one we had.

A phone call was made to inform me that our meal would be late. That's fine

Usually get excellent food from here but tonight was the exception, low grade chicken was used not the usual standard we expect and was sent rice with sultanas in instead of my usual pilau rice. Didn't enjoy it as much tonight 😕

Average food after an incredibly long wait. Food arrived almost 2 hours after ordering.

Order was completely different to what I ordered. Ordered a mixed Tikka kebab and spicy chips but got a donner kebab and normal chips. Couldn’t be bothered the drive back to change it. Kebab meat was dry and hard. Wouldn’t bother with this place again.

I booked a table for 4 at 7pm on a Friday night. We arrived on time and had a friendly welcome. We were the only people in the entire place even up until we left at 8.30pm! Therefore no ambience. Also, we didn't realise that alcohol isn't served at this restaurant and that it is 'cash only'. I am disappointed that these two important facts weren't explained when I phoned up to book.

Have dined here on numerous occasions over the years and I have always been satisfied with the quality of my various meals but things have changed for the worse. Last night I had mixed kebab starter and whilst OK it did not seem freshly prepared. Then a chicken tikka jalfrezi with vegatable pilau rice. This was totally lacking in any of the usual spice flavours usually found in a restaurant freshly cooked dish. From the gloopy consistency of sauce which tasted of extra hot ( and it was overly hot, like vindaloo heat) chilli powder, ginger (not a hint if garlic, cumin, coriander, methi or tandoori masala) to the dry blandness of the pilau rice the whole meal had a background flavour of salt and preservatives and was obviously prepared off site just to be reheated. I would expect that sort of quality from an Iceland or Asda ready meal. Such a shame to see this once good restaurant go so far down hill. P.S. bill for 2 meals came to £44, not expensive but unfortunately not good value either. My advice to Tandoori Nights would be "invest in a proper chef who can cook Indian food from scratch".

We were looking for a bite to eat before sampling the delights of Richmonds’ world renowned karaoke scene. Everywhere was full so Tandoori Nights it had to be. A better name for the establishment would be Tandoori Mornings, Evenings and Nights, as that’s roughly how long you’ll need to spare before your poppadoms arrive. We decided to skip starters, as we’d already read War and Peace four times before waiting for our order to be taken. Order we did and what looked to be a fantastically varied offer on the menu proved to be anything but. Base sauce all round, with a dollop of lime pickle for the finely honed citrus flavour. Naan was decent though, credit where it’s due. All in all a very average visit, but it was a busy night on the takeaway orders. Manager needs to learn to manage the balance of orders and not over promise. On to the karaoke we went and met some reet ripe Richmond people.

soon as we stepped into the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely chap, very helpful and knowlegable of the cooking they do. He helped us out with choosing the dishes. All the dishes we had was absolutely delicious. 10/10 i would give more if i could.

Worst takeaway we have ever had. Delivery was £4.50, only to be called by the restaurant and told to give the driver an extra £2. Food was tasteless and very poor value for money.

Not really bothered about the lateness as it is a long drive from richmond and driver was very apologetic the food tasted amazing the masala abit water and the naan could of been more garlicky but seemed to be hand made and still tasted good all n' all I would order again for the overall taste 👌

First time we ordered from here. Just moved into the area and big curry eaters. Very disappointed. The curries were very bland and felt like they had no flavour and the nann bread just wasn’t nice at all. Unfortunately won’t be ordering from here again

The kebab special was mediocre at best and I’m not sure what day the meat was cooked on but it had been some time. The wife had the korma and it was terrible, the sauce is watery and the whole dish lacked any flavour at all which is mental considering how much spice Indian cuisine has. Mark and avoid!!!

The food was really bad. Chips and cheese put into a bag and the bag all stuck to the food. No sald with the kebab. Minimal amounts of sauce. The naan was awful.

We have been here on numerous occasions and the food has never failed to impress. The service is friendly and they suggested other options that we may enjoy, which I most certainly did! A fabulous restaurant with a nice friendly ambiance which I would definitely recommend. We will certainly be returning to enjoy their wonderful food sometime soon.

Food was good was 30 later than advised called the restaurant and it was just leaving so took a further 20 min to arrived. When I called the restaurant the app said the food had been delivered and it’s the all that sends out the wrong times and advice on where the food actually is this is not the first time this has happened.

Horrible asked for mixed kebab naan and got 3 peices of tikka and the rest donner kebab , the onion bahjis were not cooked and what chicken that was there had a bone in .

We ordered a takeaway online from the restaurant's own website (more on this later) for collection. The food was OK at best (if you were prepared to forgive the two grizzled hairs found in the mixed Raita.) My main issue was with the (lack of) service. Their website advertises a 10% discount for collection and I specifically asked the front of house guy who handed me the meal if this had been applied as he refused to take a credit/debit card and wanted cash. He assured me it had. Guess what when I returned and checked it hadn't. I rang them up and queried this and was told, it was the websites fault not theirs (despite it being their website, not Just Eat, Deliveroo etc.) and they couldn't do anything about it. He told me I should have checked my email confirmation - which was never sent, and eventually offered me a "free vegetable sauce for the £4.30 they owed me. I politely declined and asked to speak to the manager, who I was assured would ring me right back. No great surprise when this didn't happen. Avoid this place, it rips you off and the food is pretty lame, potentially unhygienic too.

Just had a delivery for the first time from Tandoori Night and it was beautiful. 2 different starters, 2 different dishes and rices, aswell as Naan breads. Everything was cooked to perfection and definitely the best Indian in the area, we were very impressed. Delivery was fast even though they were coming to Colburn from Richmond on a Saturday night, can not fault. Thank you Tandoori Night!!!

My favourite Indian restaurant and takeaway in the region. Great quality food and superb service every time. Be patient with their deliveries at busy times - it’s because they are popular but it’s definitely worth the wait.

Ordered the meal and it didn’t come for over 2 hours. The food was watery bland and the bread was sweet for some reason. Very disappointed

Food was hot Ordered a madras to find it had been damaged in the bag. What was left of it we couldn’t eat because of the spice level, it states fairly hot but it was beyond that. Rest of the food was greasy but ok salad was lovely and fresh.

Wrap was a mess, falling apart, and the doner meat was dry. Delivery was supposed to be 6pm but arrived at 6.30pm.

We ordered £18 worth of food from here and was told it would be enough for 4 people. We tipped the delivery driver £3 and when we opened the food, it was that small we thought that part of the order was missing. When we called to query we were told that was the order and they don’t normally have complaints. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but portion sizes 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 ridiculous. When we asked for a refund to satisfy the situation it was declined with the person on the phone saying we don’t normally get complaints. Very annoying and disappointing on a Saturday night and on a special birthday weekend. 1 hour 25 minutes waiting time. Not good. Regardless of reviews think before you order.

The Just Eat app said our meal was with the delivery driver around 5.35pm. At around 5.55pm the app said enjoy your meal. I called the restaurant and it hadn’t even set off yet? They said it would be 10 to 15 minutes. I called them again at 6.25pm and they said it was on its way. It arrived at 6.30. That said the food was lovely.

Food portion tiny, a drop of garlic sauce, come very late don’t know if they are having a off day but that was shameful.

Got the mixed kebab in a naan. The naan was tough and chewy, the kebab meat was nasty and the chicken tikka was barely existent and tasted of nothing. Rude service. Won’t be going back.
