just chanced upon this place while avoiding shopping with my wife. dropped in for a coffee and stayed longer than I had intended. Lovely friendly staff and really comfortable surroundings. Based on an ECO system they use eco friendly produce as much as is possible. Staff are volunteers, its really doing what a lot of people only talk about. Well done to you all By the way the food is top quality and you can provide all sorts of food for the less well off by hanging a donation of ,say a coffee or a sandwich on the tree at the cash desk by paying for same and hanging it on the tree at desk. Great idea folk keep up the god work .I certainly will be back

On holiday in the area I called in for some afternoon coffee and cake with a friend and our 2 children. Found the staff so friendly and welcoming. As a keen home-baker I appreciate a tasty slice of cake and what I got at Talking Tree did not disappoint. We all left very satisfied. A great space with lots of community information for those with an interest in green issues. Would very happily stop by again.

This little cafe is becoming my new home from home. There aren't many places where you can find delicious, healthy vegan food in the area and I often pop in for a bowl of soup or stew at lunchtime. The home made cakes are amazing and there are often gluten free, vegan options - yesterday I had the apple and blueberry crumble, which was just what I needed on a wet, windy afternoon! Highly recommend a visit if you're in Staines. There is always a friendly welcome here and you never feel as if you are being rushed, even when the cafe is busy, as it was yesterday.

Stopped by for lunch and had a fantastic vegan Tuscan Bean soup, followed by a slice of vegan cake. Great that the coffee & tea price includes oat milk. Very low cost for the quality of the soup, just £2!

I loved the atmosphere, all the volunteers were so welcoming. We chatted with them about the interesting displays on environmental themes. I had the South Indian curry, was delicious, as was the Key Lime Pie. I've told all my friends to visit.

My friend introduced me to this little gem. Her daughter volunteered there in the summer. A small cafe serving teas, coffee, homemade cake etc, more of a community centre for like minded individuals who care about the planet, their community and try to encourage changes to help this process. They host music evenings, and similar. Cakes are either Vegan or Gluten Free. Friendly staff who are volunteers. Nice change from the over priced corporate chains. You can also pay it forward for those less fortunate. I think every town should have a place like this.

Such a lovely community cafe with a warm atmosphere. The cafe itself is cozy and comfortable with sofas to sit on and the staff (mostly volunteers) are all so welcoming and friendly providing great service. Everytime I’ve visited the mains (made from surplus food in the community and vegan) have been delicious and hearty and I’ve loved trying the homemade cakes. There are often new and different ones each week as they are made by volunteers and they have range of vegan and GF options. I am vegan so I often have little choice for cakes when I go to cafes but here there’s always new and exciting vegan cakes to choose from here! And even better they offer oat milk in all hot drinks for no extra charge. I love the idea of the pay it forward scheme to buy food for people who may not be able to pay for themselves and the way the cafe is reducing food waste by using surplus and running their community fridge scheme!

Charming community café with a focus on environmental responsibility. The daily hot soup and main are vegan, and there is a selection of cakes (with vegan and GF options). We had the soup of the day and a curry, which was hearty and filling Turkish Lentil & Quinoa soup, and a South Indian Potato & Mushroom curry. Both were delicious and vegan. Friendly, cheap, filling and vegan. I'll definitely be back!

This cafe is newly opened in Staines High Street, and what an oasis it is! Very welcoming and friendly staff of volunteers, serving great value food and drinks. The menu is small as it’s made primarily from surplus ingredients which would otherwise be thrown away, or sent to landfill, but it’s delicious, wholesome and very reasonably priced. They also serve a range of home made cakes which are amazing and sell out very quickly!! You can also use their pay-it-forward system to buy a meal or drink for someone in need, which is a lovely idea. What a great addition to our local community.

I visited this little cafe with my friend a couple of weeks ago for a spot of lunch. As I am coeliac and vegan, it's often difficult to find good food when we go out, but not here! My friend had a cheese & tomato panini, which came with a fresh slaw and salad garnish, while I had the mixed bean chilli with a GF/vegan roll. Both were absolutely delicious. The cafe itself is spacious and welcoming and the staff (mostly volunteers) were really lovely and obviously keen to make sure that we were happy with everything. We couldn't leave without trying the home made cakes (again, good vegan & GF options), I had the rhubarb and ginger upside down cake and my friend had the carrot cake - both delicious! Talking Tree is also a community hub, aiming to encourage people to take steps to deal with the climate emergency, and there are some interesting displays on the walls. We will be back!

Went for a quiz night, well organised and great fun. Manager, staff and people in pub very welcoming, felt quite at home. Only marked food down as chips were over salted but husbands meal was great proper mash and fresh veggies and plenty of it. 😀
