Just ordered my first meal after moving into the area last weekend and it was amazing! Delivered precisely on time, piping hot and delicious. Cannot fault the meal at all, and I will definitely be a regular customer!

This is a fantastic Indian restaurant... Great food, nice setting and very attentive wait staff. Slightly more expensive than the average Indian restaurant but it is wearable once you immerse yourself in your surroundings and get the cuisine tucked into. Great food 👌🏽

The food came as described on the menu. Fresh and full of flavour. The service to top it all off was quick yet extremely attentive. I will most definitely make this my regular Indian.

After 25 years of loyal custom, last night my husband and his friends were asked to leave!!!! They regularly go for a curry and play cards in a quiet corner of the restaurant. They were told they could no longer play cards. Due to one customer complaint. Restaurant owner sided with that one customer over their 25 years plus of loyal patronage. During which time the restaurant has alway welcomed them without any issue. We have celebrated birthdays and even held our wedding reception there !! We have even supported Jules at the London Curry Awards. This is all very saddening. All because of one person complaining about them playing cards. This is just 4 men friends having a 'Guys Night Out!' What a sad world we are living in. Taj Cuisine you have lost our respect and custom.

Ordered collection was very well packaged and clearly labelled. Friendly staff and the food tasted amazing too will definitely have to dine in sometime.

We were staying locally and booked a table for 4 yesterday evening. The place was full on a Tuesday night which speaks volumes. I had chicken shashlik and it was probably the best I’ve had. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but you can take your own. Very attentive service and excellent food.

Dinner to escape the football and not only were the staff watching it on a tablet at the bar, but people in the restaurant also had it on phones etc. Despite this, food was really nice, atmosphere friendly and chef came out to introduce himself and check how our meal was which was a nice touch.

Returned to this Restaurant not having been there for some 5 years. The food was excellent, service was very good and an extra bonus you can bring your own alcohol. Would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely Indian Restaurant. Booking essential.

Always a great meal and friendly service

Meal was fine but ruined by very loud group of guys, unnecessarily loud and drunk who brought their own drink. The staff did nothing to quieten them down. So loud we couldnt hear ourselves talk. It was fairly early evening too. Was glad to get out. We wont be going back ruined our evening.

Ordered at 6:35pm for delivery, got to 8:30 and still hadn’t received anything so called to check on progress. After waiting on the line for 5 minutes I was told it would be leaving in less than 5 minutes. Got to 9 o’clock and still nothing so called back multiple times but no answer. Eventually got through to somebody who told me it was out for delivery but wasn’t apologetic at all. Eventually arrived just before 9:30 (delivery driver was nice and apologised for the delay) but the food was cold so had to be reheated. They had my number but never made any attempt to call and apologise or update me on the delay. Poor service and can’t see us ordering from here again.

The food was amazing as usual and I like the fact you can bring your own drinks. The service was a little off this time when it’s usually very good and usually the staff are friendly and chatty but it felt more like we were being rushed and an inconvenience. I’m sure it was a one off as usually very nice. Will definitely go back!!

Very expensive but above average food quality. Interior was clean and cultural and waiters very prompt. Sort of place you would dine out with friends or associates as the food quality and service wins. I have also had Takeaways which again are promptly delivered but disappointed on the serving size, a bit on the mean side. Overall would use when I have money in my back pocket.

Always liked it here , food delicious. I had a disaster with home cooked rice for a home cooked curry so asked if we could come collect a few rices to help me out and was told NO as we have to order a main meal. Business is business and I don’t think I was asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn’t asking taj to go out of your way to deliver these. Can’t understand why we wasn’t able to collect? Ridiculous if you ask me

Not the best food I have ever eaten. Service was poor. Took far too long from starter to main meals arriving. The place was full but there were plenty of waiters serving, so I have no idea how we were left unattended foe so long. We won't be returning to this restaurant.

Went in for take away was asked to come back 15 mins later after ordering Staff not interacting Went back got walked to door ………. handed food and sent on my way !!!!!! Never again …..rude

Be warned they have reduced the size of there take away containers again, you will be able to eat it with a tea spoon now the size of a childs portion. The food its self is ok but very expensive for what you get. Penny pinching take aways, always lose there loyal customers. We will not get ripped off any more.

Superb Indian restaurant, from its decor to its menu, service and quality/price. What more can I say? We went on a Saturday night and it was full. Great to be able to take your own wine alcoholic drinks.

Then ordered a madras which I have ordered there for years and what they gave me was equivalent to a phal in terms of heat. Had two bits and had to leave the rest and had hiccups for 3 hours afterwards. Not sure if this was to spite me for asking for a naan with my starter, maybe I offended them by asking. Who knows. What a sorry state this once renowned restaurant has become. Half empty at 8pm on a Friday night says it all really. If you’re going to charge a premium price maybe don’t offer a basement level service. Will never return. What a shame.

Was taken to the Taj with some friends and have since gone for our second visit. The food eas excellent and very friendly staff. The chicken was cooked perfectly, so many indian restaurants serve it really tough but this was just right. My Masala sauce again was perfect and my wife said the same about the Ceylon. Bajis to die for. Decor is really nice and very sociable tables. Now looking forward to our next visit to introduce some other friends.Thank you

What a fantastic restaurant. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is great and most importantly the food is incredible. The only negative is that they don’t currently hold a license to serve alcoholic beverages, although glassware and wine coolers are provided should you wish to bring your own alcoholic drinks. Definitely worth a visit for a great Indian meal.

put so much food color in Currys and... expensive...do not go on photos it's not real..not friendly staff..test do not justify the n no of certificate...,,bad experience

Had a fabulous meal last night for a birthday celebration. 10/10 for food and Service. Bringing your own alcohol was even better 👌 well done to all staff.

First time ordering. Can say its absolutely gorgeous. Lamb curry meat was good quality and not at all chewy. Kurma, pilau rice and bombay aloo is full of flavour. Naan bread and papadum were also fresh and delicious. Will definitely be ordering again and also dine in. Jade & Brandon

We felt rushed with our meal I didn't finish my starters and the waiter was persistent to clear the table. We was not finished with the main meal but waiter was just hanging around my table and kept asking every 2 minutes if we have finished eating. I felt rushed through out the evening and uncomfortable with waiters around us as they kept looking to clear the table. The prawn curry was like water...no taste. The best thing was the naans, very soft and fresh.

We used to rate the Taj highly. But not after our latest visit. In a nutshell, to save you reading further, the staff were disinterested and rarely left the counter. The manager took umbrage at being asked to replace a bad drink. And the food was neither tasty nor hot. We arrived at 6.30 and the place was empty. As the manager passed I pointed out that my bottle of Sparkling Water was totally flat. We said it was Sparkling because it said so on the label and I'd got what I ordered. He then said that I'd opened it and poured it so I'd accepted it. And it wasn't his fault that there were no bubbles. He said if we wanted to leave that was OK. It seemed that unhapppy customers leaving didn't faze him. However my bottle was grudgingly replaced with a good one. The staff, and manager, appeared to be completely disinterested in what they were doing. They just went through the motions. It was really odd. The menu hails the great Chef Abdul. It must have been his day off. Sauces from supermarket bottles are better than those we had. We all commented that our meals were neither tasty nor spicy. And not heat-hot. It pains me to write a damning review but this place needs a wake-up call. We'd love to see it get back to what it used to be.

been coming to Taj cuisine for a while and it has never failed to impress only negative feedback is that the price of the food is expensive but I think it's worth it as food is stunning

Had to wait 2 hours for my curry , only got 4 bits of chicken in my curry so not happy , the best one I have had is the one at Davies estate more chicken in your food and taste better.after talking to the management and saying I had only 4 bits of chicken in each curry and they said they put 9 bits in get a life or back home , so placed order at 6 got it at 7.45 not good enough, and now they are saying that they will give me 20%discount of next time I order sorry but no way , please use the one taste of India better food and more for your money

Food was ok, service not good. We booked a table for 6:30, ordered poppadoms while looking at the menu and ordered mains around 6:50. Our food didn't arrive until after 8pm and we had barely finished eating before our plates were cleared, the bill arrived and we were asked to leave as they had the table booked out again at 8:30! So rude, and all avoidable if our meals had been served within a reasonable timescale.

Really nice. Restaurant is clean and stylish. Nice atmosphere and nice staff. Food was really tasty. All fresh and whilst they don't have a separate vegetarian menu as such they can make any dish vegetarian. Really liked it here. Staff were quick to clean away things at the table, so quick that at times we weren't finished with it and they were taking it away, but really no complaints :)

We loved our dinner here and went for the chef's specials which featurw unusual dishes with a taste of the old moghul india, mixing delicate spices, fruits and sauces with giant prawns or succulent lamb or chicken and pairing them with lemon or lime rices or the like. All this, as well as the wide and proficient range of more familiar dishes. We had the Zanga golda prawns and Shemali lamb, beautifully composed meals, with a side of delicious sag paneer. Thank you chef (Kamal tonight) and all the courteous staff. Nice ambience, convenient parking, byo wine.

Nice staff and good service. Food was hot and freshly prepared. You can really taste the fresh ingredients. We enjoyed every mouthful, nothing was left over. We will definitely be back again.

Absolutely fuming ordered a curry at 6.26 for delivery was told the latest would be 7.30 so at 7.50 I called to find out how much longer it would be and was told it wasn’t ready and would be another 20 mins (I live 5 mins drive from the restaurant) the manager was so rude and told me he said 7.30-8 which was a total lie if that would of been the case then I wouldn’t have called at 7.50! No apology was given I’m Surprised they have any customers

Absolutely fantastic service, couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was to die for, and the presentation was fab too. Even as a large group out for a work meal, the staff were so enthusiastic to help out and made sure our experience was top notch. Would highly recommend!

Booked table for 6.30 didnt get our mains until 7.15 then when we asked for a coffee at 8 PM was told we will have to hurry cause the table was booked for another party at 8.30 dont mind only having 2hrs for table but serve our mains earlier then

Went here last night for my cousins 19th birthday and I have never experienced such poor customer service in my entire life. As someone who works in hospitality, if I behaved like the waiters did last night I would probably get the sack. First of all, we had our 2 year old with us in which the restaurant was not impressed at. They didn’t have high chairs or a nappy change facility. When I asked if they did they replied ‘No, we have never come across someone asking this before’, which I don’t believe for a second. Reluctantly I had to change my little boy on the chair. The whole time we were having our meal they were staring at our table, huddled at the bar in a circle talking & generally seemed eager for us to leave the whole time we was there. Food took over an hour to come out. When they brought out the food the plates were scorching hot in which they did not worn us about. Over all waiters made us feel very uncomfortable. When we left I forgot about the nappy sack on the chair in which one of the waiters gave to me and said take it home. I refused and asked them to put it in the bin here. Could write so much more about the bad service. Food was nice until me and my partner woke up during the night with belly aches. Will never be returning.

After a busy week decided to have a meal out. Had been to Taj before but not for years, so thought we would try it again (was never disappointed before). No Alcohol licence which wasn't the end of the world but would have been nice to have been told beforehand. Sunday evening, so should have been good service, restaurant very quiet. We felt more attention was focused on takeaway/deliveries than people in house. An HOUR for our main meal to arrive!! Was about 5 minutes away from paying for what we had had and walking out. Food was nice but not as good as I remember, Shozna and Poppadom much nicer and similar price. Staff ok but not overly interested we felt, the whole experience was disappointing! Needless to say we will not return. A real shame, it used to be exceptional.

We called in on the way home and wow! The restaurant has good parking, and as soon as you open the door the service is incredible , attentive, professional but not over bearing. The restaurant is light with modern decor, and a good varied selection of dishes on the menu. Best popadoms and dips ever! The ingredients for the main meals are good quality and the sauces superb, tasty, fragrant and not over bearing. This has now become our g to Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurant in Medway. Just amazing.

Restaurant is clean and tidy. Service is average. Dishes and main course is very costly compared to same kind of restaurant and you get cheaper option and same taste from other restaurant. We order 2 chicken curry and 2 type nan and 2 type rice. Garlic Nan and special fried rice was taste nice. Coconut rice have Coconut and toomuch sugar just like dessert 🍨. And Chill Nan it's name like lot of chilli 🌶. That's the difference and very costly. And very very less quantity.

I hesitated to give this place four stars. The food as always was excellent but this time, my carton was only two thirds full and very little sauce. I also ordered 90 minutes in advance but nevertheless had to wait about ten minutes for it to be ready when I arrived to pick it up. Seven p.m. on a Monday is not a peak time so I'm not really sure what the hold up was.

We’re regular guests /diners tried a few Indian restaurants this is by far the very best, food excellent staff lovely, it’s a pleasant experience to be cooked for by a top chef not a cook highly recommended!!!

Ordered via just eat where it states that delivery time is between 50-65 mins. I place my order at 8pm so delivey by 9.05pm. once I had paid they changed time to 9.45. I called Taj directly to query the time to be greeted very rudely being told its not their problem nothing they can do I either wait for delivery or cancel. But if I cancel I won't get a refund. He the goes on to say why am I even complaining my food isn't even due yet so what was my problem!!! I wasn't even complaining that it was late just querying the delivery time. I have used Taj for many years but I will not be going there again after this experience very disappointed

Tried it again tonight after it went downhill a few years ago. We had takeaway, sadly very disappointed. The madras tasted of strong ginger and was extremely watery and the chicken was very tough. The mushroom rice was very, very greasey. The other dishes were mediocre at best. Definately will not be returning.

Thursday May 5th 2022 a large group of us (20) booked an evening meal as an end of season treat for our football club. On arrival the tables were already prepared so as not to disturb the other diners (we were all well behaved of course!). There were no restrictions as to what we could eat and left it to them to provide us with starter and mains and we were not disappointed. Starters were mixed and delicious and the mains were varied, plentiful with side dishes, breads and sauces of excellent quality. Cleaning away and delivery of servings to the table was spot on. Every one of us had our fill and thought the food was excellent. As they do not currently have a drinks licence we brought our own, which was not a problem and the staff provided glasses and helped to clear up afterwards. We could not fault anything about the evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We would highly recommend!

So, can't complain about the food, it was actually quite nice. The service was very poor. The waiters were constantly hovering, trying to take our food away before we'd even finished. When not standing by our table, they were all stood at their counter watching us. We were being rushed out of the door, they emptied every table around us of cutlery etc, and took the warm towel away before we'd even opened it...it was about 7:30pm, if that. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. Probably the first time ever that iv not left a tip

Ordered a takeaway at 5.15pm to be delivered between 7-7.30pm. 5 past 9 and still waiting despite 3 phone calls to the restaurant. Eventually they said it had left. Told them it would be getting sent back! 20mins further on and still waiting.

I used to live in Walderslade and it used to be my go to indian restuarant however i returned a couple of weeks ago and it was dead ?The place used to be buzzing ?As soon as i got in there they turned the wine glasses upside down and explained that they were not selling alcohol ??It did not bother me that much as i do not drink however the majority of people going to this sort of place are probably going to want a beer or a glass or two of wine with their meal ? Perhaps this is why people no longer seem to be going there?i was taking somebody there for the first time too and had told them what a good restaurant it was so it was very disappointing .

Biggest pile of crap I have ever eaten, used this restaurant for years spent loads of money, always lovely, but since lockdown really big concern Order placed with nut free concerns, they delivered but never read the notes and added nuts!!! Phoned me over the next 2 days to make sure I was OK, just as well I never ate it as I realised.The delivery arrived 1 hour after the scheduled time, was meant to be a Kourma but tasted like a tomato soup with rice.Will never order from here again

Always amazing food and nice atmosphere

Had a take away for collection at 6pm. They rang at 5.30ppm to say it was ready. We were not able to collect until 6pm and 10 minutes later when we opened it, it was just warm enough to eat but not hot. Then I found an elastic band in my curry which I had inadvertently tried to eat. On the way home from my daughter’s house, I went back to the restaurant to complain. I was met with a disinterested attitude because I had waited 2 hours to complain. After a lot of arguing, they finally refunded my curry. I won’t go back;shame, as the curry tasted good.

Ate here yesterday with my son. Excellent food and service, at a very reasonable price. Was a little surprised to be asked to be told they’re not licensed for alcohol, but I’m used to the BYOB concept, so no issue. After the usual pappadoms we had a mixed starter to share, and then a chicken tikka bhuna and lamb tikka dansak with pilau rice, keema naan, and Bombay potatoes. Absolutely superb - best Indian meal I’ve had in ages !! Thoroughly recommend and will definitely return

Ever since they have been prosecuted for illegally employing and mistreating their staff , MORE THAN ONCE, I am nothing short of disgustedg with this place. Can't believe it can continue to trade tbh. Will never go there again.

We have just had a takeaway delivered and I am afraid its back to the bad old days! the food was not hot enough to eat so had to be microwaved, the order was missing a peshwari Nan and they said they could not refund me as I had to be at the restaurant! I was not willing to wait while my food got cold again so I told them to forget it! this restaurant does the best Indian food but did have a bad reputation for service, it has been good for a while but I am afraid it could be slipping back into the old ways!

We had a takeaway from here tonight and it was very underwhelming but with some standout dishes. The Kathmandu lamb is great, but the Taj special curry was flavourless and boring and the zinga golda was quite strange and also flavourless so it was let down at almost £18!!! The butter chicken was nice but the lamb Rogan Josh was underwhelming. I expected a lot more as we've had good meals at the restaurant before. The takeaway also came later than the slot I booked it for and they never got back to my voicemail about a query with my order. Quite disappointing all in all.

Best Indian restaurant in Kent. Only let down is the recent changes on serving alcohol. Says bring your own...I thought it was a joke but turns out it's true!!! sort it out.
