My friend and I stumbled upon this establishment while taking a leisurely walk, hoping for a quick snack. However, our hopes were dashed the moment we stepped foot inside. The reception we received from the staff was dismissive. Apparently, our casual attire wasn't up to their snobbish standards, and they made sure we knew it. Despite our simple request for starters, we were met with disdain. Oh, but they graciously made an "exception" for us, as if we should be grateful for their begrudging hospitality. Our table, if you could even call it that, was tucked away at the back end of the restaurant as though they were trying to hide us from the sight of more respectable patrons. As we perused the menu, we decided to indulge in a few dishes – Onion Bhaji, Vegetable Samosa, Manchurian Rice, and Garlic Chilli Chicken. However, our excitement was short-lived when we were presented with a measly two pieces of poppadoms, which we assumed were complimentary. Little did we know, we were being charged an exorbitant £3.60 for the privilege of nibbling on two sad excuses for snacks. To add insult to injury, our mains took an eternity to arrive, while neighbouring tables were served a basket of popadoms promptly. It seems our presence was more of an inconvenience.

Been to the shozna multiple times and always had a five star service from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave. Food is amazing. Cannot recommend enough. 👍

Disappointed with the biryani, the curry it was bland a filled with sweetcorn. The meat was nice and the naan was nice. Not value for money

Very good. A night out with friends who all enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. We found it to be reasonably priced. Just be aware it is on a busy road with very limited places to park.

The food is excellent here. It is very popular so make sure you book. They do takeaway as well. Well worth going.

Great food, good atmosphere but we had to follow up on drinks order after a considerable wait.

currys were good but really over priced. offer English meals which is good for those that don't eat curry but not worth it don't order steak unless you want boiled beef! ALWAYS CHECK THE BILL TRIED OVERCHARGING US BY £160 TOTALLY DISCUSTING. WASNT HAPPY WE QUERIED THE PRICE THEY DIDNT ADD UP BILL CORRECTLY AND HAD TO CHANGE IT!

Food was good, only real issue was the price of the beer they give you isn't on the menu. The price shown is for a small 300/330ml bottle but the size isn't listed on the menu and they bring out a large 550/600ml bottle which is significantly different in price. My initial thought was it was good value, until the bill was presented.

I started visiting the Shozna over a year ago and have now been a number of times. The food is some of the best Indian cuisine I have ever had, the staff are polite and attentive. The upstairs to the restaurant is a lovely dining space (recommend to sit up there when booking). There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Food is presented in lovely dishes when brought to the table. The restaurant provide warm hand towels after finishing your meal and complimentary chocolates / boiled sweets.

Best Indian food we've had in Kent. The atmosphere is great even on weekdays, and brilliant service. That said, the price of a large diet coke does not appear on the menu and is £5.20. This is far too much, but the thing that bothered us more was that we only discovered this when we went to pay. It left a bit of a sour taste after an otherwise perfect meal out.

Purchased a takeaway and using their menu on the Shozna website the order came to £89.50 When my wife picked it up she was charged £100.00 all but a few pence. When my wife showed them the list that we had ordered with their menu prices and what the total came to she was very politely told that they were very sorry but they had not updated their online menu and still had the cheek to charge her the £100.00 I think you will find that is actually illegal. For such a good order you would have thought they would have apologised and charged the lower price? The food was the usual excellent standard but can't for the life of me think why they think it was OK the treat a customer that way!!

We were a party of 9. Service was good but 3 of us were extremely disappointed with the overpriced king prawn shahslik. Do not order this if you like your shahslik sizzling. This was just on a plate and not sizzling.. When I complaint the waiter replied that they used to serve them sizzling but their smoke detectors used to go off. So we just ate the 4 prawns and left the peppers and onions as they were raw..

The Shozna never fails to deliver, great food, service and surroundings. Cannot fault it at all, you would be mad to go anywhere else.

Food and service is good, location and parking is a nightmare, watch out medway council will give you a parking ticket anytime of the day or night in so called restricted streets with no signage to advise, you will be better served finding a restaurant away from medway with parking. Such a shame as the food and service were good 👍

Have dined here on two previous occasions and found the food and service excellent. Decided tonight to try takeaway (as a first for Indian takeaway) and was so surprised at how quick it was to collect. The food was sooooo delicious - it was like sitting in their restaurant with our cutlery and crockery. It’s by no means a cheap meal but you get what you pay for and my word it was soooooo delicious. Definitely 20/10. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my first ever Indian takeaway tonight from here after having been to the restaurant a couple of times previously. Bloody immense food, ready in 40 mins. Was like eating at the restaurant at home. Food was glorious ( not cheap but totally worth it). HIGHLY recommend.

The Shozna is very widely known to be the very best Indian around. Huge range of dishes cooked to perfection. However because it is so popular it gets extremely busy and extremely noisy with large crowds on Friday and Saturday nights.. But if you dress up smart casual (no large groups) you can request the upstairs restaurant which is very nice and much quieter.

4 of us dinning and once we had said we would not need anything else, we were asked to leave as they had another group waiting. We were not told of this when we booked for 6.30 on Saturday night. First time I have been asked to leave my table. A little embarrassing and will not be returning

We had an amazing meal here. Never been before and we were a large party to celebrate a friends birthday. Service and food were excellent. Easily one of the best curries I’ve had locally. I’m gutted we don’t live closer as I would use it all the time. Highly recommend!! We will be back.

Ordered takeaway. Portions all generous and delicious as per usual - in recent days feels a lot more expensive, so has become a much rarer treat.

We were there for a private party hosted by Dr Behzad on first floor. Food , service and atmosphere was all great. Staff was very helpful and active throughout the party. Food was hit and fresh, Naan were perfectly cooked. They also provided us the front courtyard for maghrib. 5 stars all around.

I've been to Shozna quite a few times now and all the times I have been have all been fantastic.. Such nice staff and service, lovley atmosphere and lovley lovley food and drinks.. I can honestly say this has to be on my top lists of restaurants.. Thank you so much Shozna 😃😃

Very nice food and tasty , it's been a while since I have had a decent curry at a restaurant. Everything tasted fresh and the service was very good , reminds me long ago when Indian restaurants were all good but some lost there way. Will be back if I am in the area again.

Very good Bangladeshi-English restaurant. While I tend to find curries in England in general to be too sweet, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the curries here, which had some more complex flavour profiles.

Any place that charges 4.50 for 3 poppadoms, am not eating there again. A poppadom is for .90p how did they become 4.50 for 3? They don’t show it on the their hand written bill. If they are charging for the dips that they already placed on the table before you sat down and ordered then thats a dodgy practice. Food is a Bangladeshi version of indian food. Not authentic as all muglai dishes have been watered down to some flavourless mess. Anybody who knows indian food obviously avoids it, no wonder you dont see Indians dining there. Overpriced much!

Enjoyable food. Some tables are better than others. Try and avoid being near the entrance - constant traffic and banging of the kitchen door right behind you

Poor food, very poor service. Not a patch on the Indian restaurants I regularly eat at in and around East Ham. How this place won 'Britain's Best Curry House' in 2021 is beyond me.

Wow all I can say is wow. We are new to the area and after asking a lady in the nail bar what a good Indian restaurant was we were given this place. Parking was a bit tricking especially for the disabled but from the moment we walked through the doors we found it to be tastefully decorated. We had the accompanying pickles on the table and went straight in to order popadoms and drinks. (Why are popadoms so delicious? We then placed our order - and it came out and was absolutely delicious. One of the best curries I’ve ever tried. When the bill came or we had a delicious complementary Baileys and hubby was happy because he had a big tray of mint chocolates

Average food at above average price. Frozen vegetable (who puts sweetcorn in a curry?!) mix in the curries, tastless and very little to differentiate flavours between dishes.

Mediocre food, price on the high side. Add to that felt rushed by rude staff. When I mentioned this I was told, and I quote, "its one of those days and it's late". So, if you must go, which I wouldn't recommend, don't go on a Monday, in case it's, "one of those days" again and definitely get there before 9pm. Its too late to be polite after that apparently...(shrug)

Simply beautifully cooked food. So flavoursome. A standout restaurant that is head and shoulders above others in the area. All dishes recommended.

Best curry, takeaway or in the restaurant, in the area! In fact best curry I’ve ever had.

I visited Shozna as part of a fund raising activity for a club The Ambience was Good, the food was OK without being outstanding. I did, however, have the perception that the restaurant were in a hurry for us to go - empty plates being removed whilst others at the table were still eating. The most upsetting incident was at the end, when people were getting and putting on outside coats, by being barged out of the way by a very tall waiter on two occasions. The first, to which I remarked to a friend that "He doesn't take any prisoners" and the second I was barged so hard that had it not been in close proximity to a chair, I would hove been knocked to the floor. The first could be put down to an accident but the second demonstrated that the waiter just couldn't care less. Up to now, I have been a regular attendee at this restaurant since 2014 but not any more. I will not be in any hurry to return

We were at a friend's Daughters 18th Birthday party on Sunday and we were all treated like kings and queens. Food was amazing Upstairs has been done up to Avery high standard Will return! Rob Harris and Sue

This place is so overated it's UNBELIEVABLE! Anyone claiming this is the BEST THEY'VE EVER HAD has clearly lived a sheltered life....FML Even they believe their own hype! Tell them their lamb buna is dry, over cooked and tough they don't like it, they try and tell you its suppsed to be a dry dish. I told them to try it, they didn't, so I told them to give it to the cat, I'm not sure if they did, but they don't like bad feed back...and they charged me for it as well 2 stars. Mainly for the attitude and as someone wlse said... Overall mediocre food, less than mediocre service and extortionate prices. £22 for 3 prawns in a tandoori oven. I dont mind paying that if they service ans eveeything sle is good. But it isn't

I used to be a regular customer when it was in Strood.. and have moved away since it relocated. But jumped at the chance to meet with friends there. Certainly disappointed. Well overpriced for what you get. Staff very rude.. asked to make my order quickly and a few other unwelcome comments. I waited 5mins after announcing that we had a table booked.. then had to ask them can we sit down please whilst the other guests arrive.. this should be normal practice and I shouldn't have to ask them to show me to the table. Having one male toilet on large floor is strange.. I waited till I got home. Anyway will not be going again.. I will be going to better friendly establishments. I'll try to remember the shozna fondly the way it was in the past.

Had a meal last night along with 12 friends service was excellent waiting staff were friendly and funny and food as always was excellent. This Is my go to indian resteraunt in Rochester. Thanks we all had a great night. Will

I visited this place two months ago and ordered a lamb dish. The lamb was like tough old boots, I complained and it was explained to me that that is what lamb is like. So the fault was mine, not theirs for buying cheap old sheep that died a natural death and serving as lamb! To their credit they replaced the same dish with chicken, but I wanted delicious lamb, not cheap chicken! Needless to say I will not be back!

Not great if am honest Vegetable Balti was full of oil and was luke warm, Nan Bread was stale tasting and the Sag Paneer cannot be called that as it had no paneer cheese but chedder instead? Was disappointed as when we eat in is always nice won't be ordering a takeaway again 😕
