Shumi Tandoori in Medway

Called this evening (saturday) to ask if we should collect our order rather than waiting it to be delivered, they couldn't find my order then told me not to call back as they were busy and I was wasting their time! The guy was so rude and I don't know why. Cancelled order and re-ordered with Balti Express.

Clearly on leaflet says special offer bullshit only get what they say not what stated on leaflet , didn’t even bother going elsewhere don’t like false advertisement

From looong time I did not had such a good food from anywhere. Wow wow wow. Very tasty! Recommended.

Had it for takeaway and the food slaps. Creamy Saag Paneer especially

Second time had to complained about the Prawn Cocktail,last wk had grey prawns and just today they put pure English mustard instead of Marie rose sauce.thank god i am not alergic to mustard.

Curry was too sweet it was sickly! and had little to no flavour or any sign of spices. Was almost sweet enough to be a dessert, texture was far from curry was more like water. Bajis were so hard you couldn’t put a fork into them! Won’t be going here again very disappointing! 🙃

Cant comment on atmosphere as I ordered takeaway but it is truly the most flavourless curry I have ever ordered. What a shame as we wanted to try somewhere new.

Unfortunately Google doesn't let you leave 0 stars. I've eaten many curries over many years and in many countries, some in poverty places. This was one of the worst, if not the worst. Curry doesn't mean just adding curry powder (stale at that) and a tin of tomatoes. King Prawns that were smaller than the cheapest prawn you can get at a supermarket, keema naan with no keema, etc. Make your own mind up, but if you do ensure you've got the next day off, sit near the toilet and have lots of toilet roll.

Do not order terrible customer service rude left out things we ordered and paid for refuse refund a didn’t replace items so we paid for a whole order we couldn’t eat!! No compassion for customers please be careful when ordering my first a final time ordering ..

Hardly any chicken in the chicken, chilli masala, cold on delivery, really poor tonight lack of taste and heat, lacklustre at best

The food is always tasty, unfortunately tonight the delivery was 30 minutes late and cold, so disappointing. Wish places would reject orders rather than accept and deliver cold and late

I didn't rate the atmosphere as I'm yet to eat there but had takeaway several times and it never disappoints, amazing, fresh, full of flavour food, always arrives on time and always piping hot, my Pathia last night was especially good, thank you Shumi.

Staying overnight in the area when I came across this takeaway. I ordered in the shop and my meal was ready within ten minutes or so. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent and piping hot.

A primitive and basic 'restaurant' that is deservedly lost down a side street. If you want to wait over two hours for your food to be delivered, be insulted by rude staff when you call to find out where it is, and be lied to. This is the place for you! My advice? Go to Bas Bar. I won't be ordering from Shumi again full stop.

Absolutely the best curry house in medway my family and myself always ordered from shumi and not only is the food 10 out of ten but the customer service is so good helpfull and very efficient ive made a few mistakes with orders and they have always corrected without fuss i wouldn't go anywhere else for my Indian takeaway highly recommended thanks for everything shumi tandoori!!

I had had a very poor experience with this place a couple of years ago, so I'm glad this one was so good (and hope it wasn't a fluke). I just had a truly excellent takeaway (delivery) from here. Arrived at temperature, on time, nothing missing, priced reasonably, and all the food - every item - was terrific. 3 very satisfied diners. Credit where it's due, have some stars 👍🏻

Awfull food i ever had. Don’t order food from here!

Certainly not worth the price. Ordered from Uber Eats, the kormas were really watery, not very hot and not tasty at all, naan was cold too. Very disappointed and now feel guilty about spending money on a sub par meal.

Fist time I ordered from here and all I can say is wow the food is so nice and I come very hot I will definitely be coming here for food again

Got a takeaway twice from here whilst I was staying in Strood. Had a chilli chicken mossala the first time then a chicken vindaloo. Both meals were fabulous (including the onion bahjee and sag bahjee). The only thing that let it down a bit was the keema nan, but I can forgive that based on everything else.

This is a takeaway i order very many times always amazing hot food great portions amazing flavour i highly suggest this place as a go to curry

Order from just eat and delivery arrives and food is good. Received info on ordering from them directly online. I done this and order did not arrive and payment was taken.

Never again! Giving 1 star as that is the minimum I could give. Order from here only if you wish to waste your money and time. Driver messed up with the delivery which I got 2 hours after scheduled time, owner is very rude and impolite. Finally was lucky to be able to reach out to someone from restaurant who helped me with the delivery. Food quality was absolutely unsatisfactory. Curry was not even grinded properly. I have never had such a horrible experience in terms of service and taste in UK.

First time trying these, ordered 3 Currys nans,rice.what can I say it was very tasty full of flavour.Had it delivered and it came earlier then predicted, delivery driver was very polite and friendly will definitely be ordering again and recommending to others.well done to all of you

Terrible...ordered a home delivery at 6pm and it still hasn't arrived... it's now 8.45pm..calledd them twice and was told 15 mins both times....and was quite rude......I will never order from them again and shall be telling my friends to avoid them at all costs.

Under new management. Take away, responsibly priced. I had Chicken Tikka masala, pillow rice, garlic naan, my wife ordered a vegetarian dish and takka darl and is fussy but we both really enjoyed the meal. Delivery included. We will be ordering from here again.

Changed from a 5 star to 2 star. Over the past 6-12 months the quality of the food has gone down hill rapidly. The portion sizes are good but all dishes taste bland. It seems that not enough engredients/spices are used. The last three times I have ordered from here it has been the same. It's a shame as this was one of my favourite Indian takeaways. Even the naan bread tastes stale, like cardboard and powdery inside. The people here are very friendly and the service is good but the quality of the food is below standard (was never like this before).

I had 2 vegetable curry's but have no idea what vegetables were in them. Chopped up so small and taste less. Don't bother buying from here

Pre ordered using just eat on New Year’s Eve and I cannot explain how terrible it all was. 3 adult meals got thrown away, one of the kids meals had to be microwave heated just to make it warm (it was still disgusting) and one of the side dishes (cucumber raita) was curdled to a point it looked like a small brick..I called them straight away and was told that they could not send any replacement food as they were too busy but they would give us a 60% reduction on our food instead so we could at least order someone where else. Still not received promised discount, we’ve complained to just eat as we ordered through there App but because it was New Years they can’t do anything and the restaurant are now denying they even delivered to us.. I understand it was New Years, lockdown and that they were busy but how can you expect repeat customers when your service is so bad!!!!!!!Avoid the hassle and use someone where else!!!!!!

I realise it was New Year’s Eve and I also realise everyone is on lockdown, but if you are going to take nearly four hours to deliver my food I think you should of had the decency to tell me that before I placed my order. Also, it is polite to not leave your phone off of the hook so nobody is able to inquire about where their order is. I will never order from this take away ever again. Outrageous.

Slight delay in delivering (approx 20ins from advised time) however, it was a delivery to Chatham and it was well worth the wait with piping hot amazing food! Thank you.

Just picked up 2 curries and some bhajis of these guys. Absolutely superb food and the 2 lads in there were very friendly. Will definitely start using this place again now its under new management.

Very impressed by our curry this evening. As a vegetarian, it’s difficult to find restaurants that do great dishes for me but this meal was delicious and fresh tasting. I’m not one to write reviews but I was so impressed and happy with my food that I felt I had to, this is my new favourite place for a curry! The delivery guy was nice and friendly too.

Was very disappointed with my food my curry was watery my narn bread was cold we also had a fried chicken and chips which was Very dry and tasteless found out it’s under new owners 😔

A friend lived in strood and gave me there number, this is a really reasonable curry house all food is really amazing and there service is brilliant, I'm 5 miles from them and the food sometimes can take up to 2 hours just goes to show how busy they get, place ur orders early and be patient they are worth the wait and value for money I recommend this to everyone ask about there deals and they shut on Tuesday, please give them a go well worth it.

This is by far one of the best curry houses around there food is amazing full of flavour and red hot always early if u are looking for a great meal with superb service and wonderful flavours then you need to call this takeaway, thank you for your service and I will always use you as you have a great selection of foods on the menu and will make a dish if not on there this is one of if not the best keep it up and there will be the best curry franchise in England cheers lads

Got to say this is by far the best curry house in Medway was recommended by a work mate and ended up having it 2 nights in a row but generous portions very well priced and actually lovely food I’ve tried most Indians in Medway and there’s only about 2/3 I’d order again from but this 1 definitely tops them all thanks

Had a numerous amount of dishes from here tonight. Everything was cooked to perfection. The nan bread and the popadoms were cooked perfectly. The sauces were the right textures. The staff were friendly and more than accommodating. The shop was spotless and even the kitchen looked to be in excellent clean condition. I will be using this weekly at least and will be recommending to everyone. Thank you for my food tonight.

We have had food from this restaurant three times now and although the food is very tasty and authentic- the three hours wait on our last order was very unacceptable....we are no more than a mile away from them, no excuses! We tried called the restaurant direct several times but not once did anybody answer - very poor customer service if any at all!! Such a shame because if I were rating on food alone they would get 5 stars - however because of the lateness and terrible communication they only warrant a three star.

First time ordering with this restaurant and was not disappointed. We ordered £56 worth of food as there were a group of us. Every meal was delicious, good consistency and arrived nice and hot. Very pleased 😊Complimentary poppadoms would have gone a long way being as we spent so much money - maybe something to think about in future?

You just can't beat this lovely local takeaway restaurant. Friendly, plesant staff, delicious food. King Prawn Dansak is fab, the rice is always light and fluffy. We've had a good few deliveries over the years and we've never been disappointed. Quick delivery and nice and hot food, sometimes we get a little freebe dish throw in. Mid week deals on and discount if you pick up your order.

I've been ordering from shumi for a very long time and the food has always been excellent, today I ordered our usual and found the lamb Madras very bitter, I phoned shumi to ask for a replacement and got told they would replace one meal, we had ordered the same meal for 4 people, no way would that have been enough to fed all of us, we asked for a full refund and got it, they said no one else had complained, "that we know of " won't be getting our curry's from them again.
