Taaj Restaurant in Kirklees

We are a regular visitor to this gem Of a restaurant. We haven't been in since the revamp but wow....the interior has been completely revamped...new furnishings and decor and it looks amazing. The menu has also been revamped and we are so impressed with the new menu. The food was absolutely amazing this evening. The staff are professional and attentive. If you have been before the revamp and were disappointed I would urge you revisit and you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to cone again

Really good food, curry sauce was so nice and our starter was tasty, only negative is one of the curries lamb was tough

Nice food. Onion bahjis a bit overcooked but I’d rather have that than under cooked. Delivery was good.

I’m an absolute wuss when it comes to spicy food! I like curry but usually only when I cook it myself! Occasionally I’ll try one when we have a takeaway but unfortunately it’s normally too spicy. Well, tonight that has all changed! I had the chicken Malayan and for the first time ever, I’ve finished all of it!! It was absolutely gorgeous, no spice and full of flavour!! Definitely a new favourite. I even managed an onion bhaji (so I cheated and dipped it in mango chutney, but still amazing) thank

100% one of the best takeaway meals we've had. Butter chicken was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious. Food arrived piping hot and in good time and the delivery driver was very pleasant. First time ordering from here.... we'll be back again soon!

The food arrived on time, was hot and was a very good portion size. However, the curry was watery at the bottom of the serving tub and made the curry taste bland and the chicken was very tough.

Firstly I’d like to thank the restaurant for re-delivering my order but unfortunately it was no different apart from this time it was hot. The 2 curry’s we ordered were completely tasteless and nothing like the curry’s I’ve had from the Taaj in passed years. I’ve been advised Ali is no longer at the Taaj so that just tells me the food has obviously gone down hill. Won’t be ordering again.

Slightly late, but its Saturday night, so to be expected. We got the set menu for 4, to feed 2 adults and 3 kids, and it was absolutely delicious. We have loads spare for tomorrow night too 😋 highly recommend

Spot on. I ordered Naga masala, flavour was excellent and spice level was perfect for those who like it hot. Fresh naan bread and the chips was perfect. Will be returning for sure

I’m not one for moaning but the chips were like they’d been left over night,dried up and reheated. The curries are practically the same, very bland almost like tomato soup. The chicken also tasted like it’s been reheated. Unsatisfactory meal.

Late delivery but arrived hot which is great. Good portion sizes, good food all round.

The mains were bland - even for mild dishes. The sides and poppadoms tasted of old oil. We ended up throwing away half of it.

Decided spur of the moment to book a table late on a Sunday evening. They were totally accommodating in spite of it being 8.15pm. the restaurant was clean and tidy, the front of house staff were friendly and accommodating. Really decent food for the price, two curries, two starters and a naan came to £23 which for the quality in this day and age I really don't think is bad. I had ordered king prawns, one of the most expensive options and it was still under £10. Will definitely be returning.

Sadly the food was not up to the usual standard.The chicken in the curry had a really strange texture! In general the food is superb but not this time !

Absolutely superb as always, visiting family so had to make an order from an old favourite. Did not disappoint.

I'm usually very impressed with the food from Taaj But unfortunately my chicken tikka wala had a huge amount of garlic cloves in it and only 3 pieces of chicken . Very disappointed 😞

Portions were gigantic, I had the thali which fed me the next day too. Everyone had plenty to spare.

Best in Huddersfield the keema naans are on another level wish they’d put them in separate bags tho instead of folding 2 up into one and squashing them

Poor quality food , meat very chewy .

Service was good food was the worst we have ever had unfortunately tastless greasy and bhajis were burnt the samosas were tiny and definitely the frozen 1s you can get from any supermarket unfortunately won't be going back as far to expensive for the quality of the food

Another amazing visit. Staff treat us like family and make us off the menu curry's as they know our tastes and wants so well Excellent value for money. This is by far the best curry place in the UK. A must visit restaurant where everything is right

So disappointed in this order. Ordered a chicken tikka masala came more as a korma! Poppadoms tasted like they were cooked in old oil. All food was cold and Rieta was a simple yoghurt. Tasteless. My wife has been put off by curries from other takeaways and she's even more so now. Very disappointed. :(

We have ordered from here before and the food is usually really good. But was poor tonight. My korma was watery and very bland. The pakoras were really oily and soggy. The samosas were bland and very small. It’s a shame. I hope it’s just a one off.

I will forgive them for being slightly late. First time ordering and it was delish. Big chunks of meat rather than it be cut down right small like most places. It was nice and hot and really tasty. Will certainly be ordering again.

Really good meal deal, yummy food and great portions. The driver got lost so the food wasn’t as hot as it should have been. He was really apologetic and I’m sure he’ll know where we are next time :-)

First time ordering from here. Food was slightly later than estimated time but that wasn’t a biggie. The delivery driver was friendly, polite and good humoured I would have tipped him if I had cash on me (a really shame just eat don’t offer this in some way by card). I actually ordered from here because I saw they vegetable pakora and not many takeaways have them on the menu and I far prefer them to meat or mushroom. My food was lovely, child 1 enjoyed his nuggets and chips. Sadly child 2 complained about the bottom of his bread bun for his burger being hard (stale were his words) but other than that enjoyed the rest of his burger.

Worst meal I have ever ordered. Don't understand why the sauce was so runny and the meat was rock hard. Will never be ordering from here again. Hope food quality is improved severely

Scalding hot - probably the hottest takeaway I’ve ever had (temperature wise) and very fast delivery.

Best curry I’ve had in years, portions were fantastic size, quality was amazing and great value for money! Will be back again!

The driver said he was calling my phone and couldn’t find my house even though he hadn’t. The vindaloos were bland and had no flavour at all. Everything else was fine like the rice and condiments. Bit of a shame really as usually it’s nice.

Excellent curry! Finally found a decent place that’s not covered in oil. Portions sizes are also massive. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Wish I hadn’t bothered! Dopiaza and karahi both tasted exactly the same- no flavour, no spice/ heat in either. A total of about 4 shrimp in the dopiaza and both curries mainly consisted of huge chunks of onion. Only saving grace was the daal.

Worst Rogan Josh I’ve had in a while . Hate to complain but when your food is late and poor on NYE then I have every right to complain. Won’t be back I’m afraid

Really disappointed and once that happens I won’t come back. The food doesn’t taste of anything the popadoms are burnt and I waited another 45 mins on top of the hour for it to arrive. To not eat it. If there is a problem restaurant side, maybe ring the customer? And if you’ve forgot the order. Say that.
