A lovely restaurant and lovely friendly Staff. The food was excellent. Will be definately going again and recomending it to friends and family.

Met a friend on her birthday to drop off a cheeky card & a bottle of wine. The place was packed, always a good sign. I only stayed for an hour or so and didn't eat although the food looked good. As it was a birthday celebration, a few drinks were consumed within the group which led to one of the party to secretly projectile vomit in a corner. Attempting to go to the toilet, unfortunately projectile vomiting again, just a split second after my celebrating friend asked me to swap places. This led to the spray of over consumed vodka to miss me by a whisker! Hitting my wonderful seat swapping chum instead! It's the most luck I've had in decades! The staff were quick to respond when made aware and cleared up sharpish. I was driving and wasn't drinking, so the over-consumption Gods must have been looking down on me that evening! I bought a lottery ticket the next night, my luck didn't continue.

Not good service taken too long and gave me a dirty tissue when they gave me my curry I found a pebble in it wouldn’t recommend coming here

A very good venue for meeting up with your mates on a mid week lunch now we are all of a certain age. The food was well prepared by competent chefs and authentic. We had mixed starters. I enjoyed a fish hyderabadi with chapati. Just spot on. Yes, we did put the world to rights. ;0)

Beautiful food and polite staff. This is our favourite curry house and we come all the way from the other side of Bradford, where there are many nice places to eat. Please try it, 100% recommend 😊

Had a takeaway curry from here a few times and never had a problem. The most recent meal was just way too spicy and no real taste, disappointed as the dish is renowned for not being spicy... Won't be ordering from here again unfortunately

Always a good atmosphere and a pleasant greeting from the staff.food has been very good every visit for over 5 years since we first visited . Tried most dishes and starters and never been disappointed.

The best Indian food for miles around ,outstanding professional friendly service when eating in house and the food is impeccable regardless of weather that's in house or take away .

Christmas dinner was poor, small portions, not very warm, and the staff stand watching all the time which is very off putting, £35 each but in reality wernt worth £3.50 to be honest.

I have been to so many restaurants but this one was dead! The staff were okay but the food was horrible. Wouldn’t visit ever again.

I've had currys from everywhere, international at Bradford, which is top rated and god knows how many other curry houses, I've recently started ordering from shama, after a friend recommended them to me. Firstly presentation for home delivery. Top class, comes in a well presented box, and not in a plastic bag with ghee leaking everywhere. Everything clearly marked on the containers. This is the fifth time we've ordered from shama, I cant fault their starters or curries, very nicely cooked, with great taste, compliments to the chef's. Personally Shama, in my own opinion, is definitely up there, with all the other top curry houses, restaurants, for the best places to try, I highly recommend shama. I only hope they keep their standards, very high, as mentioned in my review, as we will keep ordering every week. Thanks shama.

The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff are really friendly and nice. Prices are average but it is a byo and can save you money if you’re drinking alcohol. I would certainly recommend Shama. Can’t wait to return

This is the second time my friend and I have been to Shama. The food is fantastic as is the service. Coffee top ups are a bonus and the atmosphere is great too. We usually find somewhere different to go, to try new places. We won't be going anywhere else. Highly recommended

Food great.. shame about the service unless you just want a table for 2.... visited for a bday meal 15 of us which was booked so they knew we was coming..... yes had a couple brats (who were 100% better than service).... our tables order wasn't taken due to other smaller tables coming in.. not booked just walked in (as informed by a member of staff) had to get attention from staff every step of the meal due to items missing, incorrct or just drinks which I thought they would of asked anyway 🤷‍♀️.... they need to concentrate more on the people eating in the restaurant than the take away orders... I'm not local but do travel to this area often for decent Asian food.... shame as I said food is good but its a no go for me due to service......p.s advised to wear none slip shoes the floor is very slippy

Fantastic place for curries and Indian food, chicken garlic chilli was spot on piping hot and tasted really fresh. Rotis were great too soft and not dry like some places. Friendly staff and definitely would go again.

I have been a regular customer for years, on my recent visit, I couldn’t safely make it past the car park into the dining area without risking, both Mine and my young childrens lives. I parked my car in the car park, got my 2 children out of the car, who are 5 and 7, a young Asian lad got into his car, without any thought crunched his gearbox straight into reverse and he shot off, narrowly missing me, my boys and other Parked cars. Car looked light it had been rolled over several times, not road worthy in my opinion. Made more noises than I hear in an orchestra. I enquired from the kitchen staff, through the door the lad came out from, as I recall he had a food bag, that he worked there as their delivery driver. They didn’t seem to be overly interested. This lad is a hazard, and an accident waiting to happen. Silver hatchback car.

I visit Shana with friends once a month . take away 1 or 2 times a month but ordered 28th Dec shami kebab was so dry, chicken madras the chicken was small pieces and looked like it was vacated the sauce was nice but starter and chichen were very poor not like normal. Steve , heckmondwike

not bad food,just what I expected

Went here for a birthday meal and we were not disappointed. From starters to mains the food was beautiful, spicy and full of flavour. Portions are generously sized and reasonably priced.

I'm aware of its recent bad hygiene inspection and also know that has now been improved on well. Anyway, neither me or my family have ever had any complaints. The food is always delicious whether eaten in the restaurant or at home as a takeaway. The staff are always nice and friendly and give a great service.

Service very slow . Waitress abrupt and not smiling . No atmosphere should have a low music background

It's been a while since my last visit thankfully it hasn't changed, the service is great, the food is great and the decor is great too. Relaxing with a friend over a meal is what life is all about! Good quality food and service just tops the evening off. Well done, we'll be back. If it's not on your list of go to places then I recommend it should be in your top 5 for the area. Staff are amazing, however on our last visit the food wasn't up to its usual standard. I guess even a good restaurant can have a night off. Will be visiting again.

Good but my nan choked on a chicken bone.

I have tried the one in Huddersfield and is very good but this one, I am not very sure we ordered starters and curry with nan. Starter was bone dry and at room temp from inside which was served on sizzler so you can imagine how desciving it was. However the staff being helpful and gave me the replacement (boneless chicken tikka), but again it wasn't fresh either. Without any hastle, I paid the full amount since it was a special day for me but I am not sure if I want to go there again. Family naan was very good but that's it.

Very pleasant venue, quiet on Monday evening. Welcoming for all and assisted with our wheelchair guest. Manager was always friendly and as others in our party knew him, he brought a little bit of banter. Would visit again.

Extortionate prices for mediocre food! Ordered via their app. The main 2 things that left me shocked me was, i added mango lassi to my order and realised after this cost £6.45. I recieved a 1L bottle, talk about robbing your customers! Also a portion of chips cost £2.25. I recieved a small handful of dry chips. Never again!

We ordered takeaway at 7.30 turned up 8.30 . Complained it was really cold. Said they would send again . Turned up at 9.20 cold again . Sorry but not paying nearly £30.00 for a curry and starters you have to microwave when only 8 mins away .

We went on Wednesday night the food was excellent and plenty of it we had to wait a while for the second course but no problem as we were busy catching up we will definitely be going again and the staff are lovely and very friendly and can't do enough for you love going here if you have not been they do not sell alcohol but that is not a problem you can take your own or call at a shop nearby

Not really a curry person, but enjoyed what I had ,good service

We ordered a takeaway rather expensive but when the box turned up with poppadoms and dips we know why .the reason I've given 2 stars is because my husband always has keema for his curry's which is mince .were on the menu does it say they use quorn as soon as he lifted the lid we both knew it was the texture colour bland but charge for mince .I also ordered a chicken makahani which normally is pink in colour or it has been at other restaurants. This one was yellow with raisins and pineapple. Will not be going back anytime soon

Visited with our family for the first time since the last lockdown. Absolutely beautiful as always .... Shama weve missed you so much !!!! Love the place, will be back again soon.
