Quite disappointed! Tikka pakora wasn't cooked through, tikka masala was very tough barely chewable! Waste of money!

One of the best value for money places around. Great quality every time. Always fresh, and if delivered, on time and hot. One of the few that is consistent every time.

1st time we have tried here was recomended but to be fare i wasnt expecting anything over exciting... I was wrong! Garlic n mushroom rice, delicious, chicken madras was great and breast melted in your mouth, will definatley go back!

We've been with this family run takeaway for over 30 years and have NEVER been disappointed with any aspect of it. We've had curries from many places home and abroad and we've yet to come across a better one. We will always have our takeaway from our friends at the Sylhet Spice, highly recommended. Ordered food at 18.32 told delivery time 45-55 mins arrived at 19.58 , when contacted to ask about delay told they were very busy. Chips and Nan were cold and beef was tough . We have used this takeaway for along time but won’t be going back

all the food served by the sylhet is top class. i would guess that there are 2 main chefs cooking up the dishes as there are slight variations to the ingredients from one delivery to the next but both do a fantastic job of cooking delicious Indian dishes

Quite a simple menu, with all the favourites. The onion bhaji's were large and tasty. Our curries had lots of large pieces of nicely cooked chicken but not a lot of sauce, which made them a little bit on the dry side, when combined with the pilau rice. The naan bread was fine but not memorable. Thoroughly stuffed after the meal. Can't get away with the cash only, particularly in these still troubled times.

Ordered at 6.30pm via just-eat for delivery at 8pm. Ordered confirmed and delivery scheduled for 8.10pm. Told at 8.40pm that driver was stuck in heavy traffic (they are about a mile away from us). Order would now be around 9pm. 9.20pm order cancelled by the takeaway. Luckily we turned the oven on for pizza. Don't even bother with this place, we certainly won't.

Everything i visit south shields i crave sylhet spice curries, always fresh and flavoursome ( the uniqueness is un real). Tried other takeaways around but this one is definitely my favourite. They never disappointed me.

For a change we let our son, home from Uni, to pick a takeaway and he chose the Sylhet Spice and was educated by us that Biryani was a rice based dish which came with eggs (he thought we were winding him up) and didn’t therefore need extra rice! The delivery was actually a bit late and our son despite devouring the whole of his meal mumbled, ‘ok but a bit bland’. The Pathia we shared however was lovely, well cooked, hot on delivery and plenty to go round two with a chicken tikka starter, rice and Indian chips. Enough left overs for the next day. We enjoyed our change of takeaway as we had when using Sylhet before.

This used to be the best takeaway in my opinion, but lately they’ve really dipped. We’ve stopped going now altogether.

Tried to find a 5 scores on the doors Indians which proves quite difficult so settled on this one. Ordered and it arrived half hour late and like warm. First impressions not great. Onion bhaji starter really lovely but that was the only thing that was decent. Indian chips tasted of nothing but cooking day, curry was tasteless and watery, rice far too much garlic and chilli nan just a lump of dough. Never again.

We called in order on the way home from a trip Manchester. We had two curries with rice, and both were delicious. The food was mega hot. When we got it at home. Excellent service

We order from here every week without fail, wouldn't go anywhere else, food is next level and the staff are so friendly and accommodating

Been ordering from here for a while, never thought to give them a review. Got to say there’s not an Indian meal like it in this area. Absolutely beautiful, and the staff are so friendly. Needlesss to say that’s why we keep coming back.

Without doubt the best takeawy in town. Beautiful food. In particular the chicken and Nan breads are very tasty. Highly recommended.

Found something hairy in my rice, wouldn't give me a refund, would never buy from there again and would not recommend this place to anyone. Disgraceful

We tried somewhere new and two new dishes we’d heard good things about. Booking online the meals were received hot, ready to serve well within time. The Parthia and Sri Lanka mains were lovely, tasty and not too much heat we couldn’t fault them as were the spicy chips and rice.

This isn’t a restaurant, just a takeaway but the food is very nice. The building itself isn’t the cleanest or the most presentable and that’s being polite. However, we’ve had some fantastic curry from here.

been here a few times now , all i can say is you always get a first class curry from here. never been disapointed , good value for money
