Quarry Lane Tandoori in South Tyneside

Used this place 3 times in the last 10 days and everything is good apart from really small Naan breads. However, tonight’s order. The young lad on the phone was clearly new and didn’t know what a tandoori mixed grill was. I had to explain. Which he still took a lifetime to figure out what it was. Which he didn’t as I didn’t receive it and when I telephoned to tell him. He said I’d have to pay for it again for them to send it out. I have asked for the manager to call me to resolve but don’t hold out much hope as they have called already about an hour later to ask if I’ve placed an order. About 90 mins after receiving my incorrect order. Seriously disappointed and will not use again and I’d recommend others don’t as this in my opinion is terrible service. If they keep this young lad employed on the telephone. They will go bankrupt. Simples

As always the food was superb the place is spotless and you can see the chef doing your meal a large selection of meals available to suite all

We recently had a chicken pathia pepper pilau madras chick and keema pilau worst i have had in all my years very little chicken very little pepper or keema in rice currybland as anything not cheap neither adisgrace should stop trading NEVER go back shocking I note with particular intetest that inspite of all the adverse reports on this place not 1 word of apology or offer of a replacememt from the chefs or owner that tells me everything i need to know about the place and reminds me of many years ago when i tried this place and nothing has changed shocking curries and customer service just shows how easily satisfied some people are !!!!

We placed our first order here last night on the back of a recommendation and were pleasently suprised! The food arrived promptly and Syed provided excellent recomendations over the phone. The flavours were outstanding, thanks to a perfect blend of fresh and dried spices. Generous portions of meat meant there was enough left overs for lunch the next day. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Mixed kebab Starter was cold onion bhaji over cooked chips seemed preheated from day before as very dry,very disappointed overall

My god my chicken dansak was disgusting watery curried gravy is the only way i can describe it .not even any pineapple in it all dansak has pineapple in it chef!! Awful will not be ordering from there again

I ordered a takeaway last night as had not had one for a while . It was absolutely delicious and one of the best ones I have had.

It's a Indian take away food is good also they do taxi meals on the cheap n they also deliver

I have given 1 star because i can't leave 0 which is still too high, just paid 45.90£ on this order for a family meal and the whole meal was disgusting, not 1 of us finished this meal as it's just inedible, it was barely warm the curries (all 3 of different flavours) was more like watery soup and just disgusting, the vindaloo and madras had no lick to them at all and was more like a plain curry the prawn vindaloo was packed with potatoes and hardly any prawns and was swimming in water, never had 1 from here for about 2yrs and its safe to say i will never order from here again, gutted at what i have spent here tonight

Disgusting very watery ment to be a prawn vindaloo no heat very bland from my experience its been cooked then frozen not happy used to be one of the best curry take away in south shields very disappointing never again just been greedy taking your money and no quality for the customer

Will not order from again very disappointed. Used to be very good a few year ago, I've never had chicken chat like it and the nan bread is probably the worst I've ever had.

This message is for the guys at Tandoori Quarry Lane. Just picked up my curry etc and it really is not edible. The chips are obviously not fresh...they are discoloured and hard. The curry was bland and watery. I asked for boiled rice and got something else. Such a shame as I used to use your place years ago. Best not send out this kind of food. Just disrespectful. John

Great experience every time. Since it opening back in the 90's this place has never let their standards slip. Because of this, we never buy take aways from any other tandoori. Don't get me wrong, we have tried other tandoori take aways but none of them come close to Quarry Lane.

We’d been away for a week and didn’t fancy cooking so chose Quarry Lane Tandoori on Just Eat (£1 cheaper using this as opposed to their own site, which isn’t the norm). The meal was delivered and on time but the chips were flat and crispy, the naan was burnt with no filling in it and the Froth chicken was just bland to say the least. Wrong choice made!

We've ordered food from this take away twice and each time it's been superb. We had different dishes each time and everything was spot on. Couldn't complain about anything. Easy to order online and good quality food for a reasonable price. Will definitely order again.

Given the good reviews on here, I thought I’d give it a try. First off, they forgot the rice. The korma was watery and tasteless. The cheese nan was cheese squares in some bread, the nicest thing was the chicken tikka masala UNTIL we found a hair in it. I can honestly say it’s the worst £15 I’ve ever spent.

A takeaway tonight and as always absolutely delicious, servis excellent and reasonable prices.

Everything & I mean everything we try for this place is perfect, fresh & full of flavour. The only place I ever order from now. Always kind and helpful customer service. I have peanut allergys & they assure my safety allowing me to eat comfortably which is huge for me & rare for a tandoori. Very quick delivery service.

Arrived 15 minutes early, hot and ready to serve. Can’t fault the main meals and sundries. A good way to take your mind off the problems everyone’s having and warm up on a bitter cold night

For us personally if your getting 4 and 5 stars service and food everytime the Quarry Lane Tandoori meets our requirements and is becoming a top 3 favourite! I fancied the chicken Tikka rice, chips salad and dressing while my husband went for his Lanka. Arrived early, ready to serve and eat, two empty plates later with leftovers, happy customers

We discovered Quarry Lane Tandoori during the lockdown and really found a gem. We decided to try it post lockdown and pick different meals to see if the standard was as good as last time. It only missed out on 5 stars as our son (fussy) decided the plain chicken tikka curry was a bit watery and bland. The rest of the meals, Chilli Mossala chicken tikka, chicken tikka, tikka pilau rice, tikka nan and spicy tikka chips were top notch. Delivery was early, hot and ready to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed it, even fussy son finished his plate!

Ordered via Just Eat with the contactless ideal in place due to current rules. Can’t fault the delivery time, received on time and hot. Plentiful and more importantly very tasty. We both went for something new to us. The intriguingly names ‘froth’ chicken tikka was beautiful. Lovely taste and rice and chips complimented the main meal. My partners meal a Channa Dall Tikka was just as tasty if not quite as hot as anticipated (he said it was just below a madras heat for him). Plenty of leftovers and really well priced. It’s good to support local shops at a hard time and to find somewhere new to put on our list of favourites is a bonus.

Popped in Xmas eve ordered chicken tikka Sri Lanka and vegetable rice. Rice was wet and soggy ,very little veg. Chicken tikka had no taste ,Sri Lanka sauce was just like curry base with chilli powder,no discernible spice flavour or coconut. Very disappointing.

Filled a hole I suppose, but only 3 (overcooked rubbery) prawns in my king prawn massala costing £7.10 Massala sauce flavoured perfectly.

We have been here several times and have always been happy with our meals. Portion sizes are good and staff are always happy to recommend new dishes or a suggestion if you wanted to try something else. Good prices too. Staff are friendly and it’s an easy to get to location.

Ordered a mixed mosalla.Thought it would be a mixture of chicken,beef prawn.But what i got was a chicken drumstic.a little rib and a weird sausage thing.Impossible to eat in a mosalla sauce without a mess everywhere.Not worth the money.I gave up trying to eat it and put it in the bin.Every where else that i have had a mixed mosalla it was OFF the bone with plenty of meat.This would not have filled a child up never mind an adult.They should list what the mosalla contains.If they had i would not have ordered it.

Spicy chips were not spicy. The chicken tikka masala hardly had any chicken in and sauce was a little too thin. Naan bread was really nice. The assorted pickle that I ordered wasn't in the bag either. Apart from that delivery time was great and not expensive order.

Food was 15 minutes late. Vindaloo sauce was very spicy without much flavour to it. Potatoes in Vindaloo sauce which is great as most people don't do this. Pickle for poppadoms not really worth the price. Chips and rice really nice. Garlic nan very wet and not really puffed out much

mixed pickle didn’t turn up with order. mixed kebab starter had salad in the tray so was then covered in oil so couldn’t be eaten. tikka chicken was dry and no raita dip came with starter. korma was lovely.

After 10 minutes being added onto the delivery time after i paid it was still another 10 minutes late but didnt say anything as this place is usually really nice! (Never experienced delivery as i usually collect). However the bhuna prawn on puree was swimming in grease and the garlic chilli king prawn came with only 4 prawns and had no flavour could only taste the chilli im a fan of spicy food but that was not good! Sad to say but i wont be back again!

Old miserable driver just stared and shook his head because he didn’t get a tip. The reason we used just eat was because we didn’t have cash in the house and were hungover. We already paid £2 to deliver about a quarter of a mile from the shop.... TOTAL W@NKER

I’ve been ordering from here for years, but this time I was quite disappointed. The chips were mostly black in places and the chicken had loads of nasty bits in it. I would order from here again to give it another try as it’s the first time I’ve even had something from there that I wasn’t 100% happy with.

Had a takeaway Tandoori cocktail from this establishment and have to say it was massive and delicious. Delivered piping hot to my door it consisted of a load of tandoori chicken breast chunks cooked to perfection. A load of lamb off the skewer. A full leg and thigh on the bone. Two kofta kebabs and a large salad with mint yoghurt. Huge portion left me well satisfied.

delivery was one hour late however I called and the manager did make us a new curry which arrived 5 minutes after the actual one. the manager was very helpful about this but still not acceptable.

Poor quality beef & king prawn in the curry. Egg pilau rice had chunks of carrot in it? Food only warm when arrived. Naan bread very thin,Most of meal went in the bin. Wouldn't order again. Very disappointing.
