Absolutely wonderful breakfast. Best I have had in years. Very popular and you can see why. Food was beautiful and even the background music was good. What better way to start the day with a bit of ska/reggae and a beautiful brekkie.

Called in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Polite server, lucky to get the last table. Coffee was very good. Breakfast absolutely delicious, the best around. Definitely be back.

Coffee n cakes absolutely great, stopped off one afternoon, we will be back and will try something else, but from viewing others eating we won't be disappointed.

I always love coming to the swellies, great service and atmosphere and the food is always excellent. Came in on my birthday with my partner and had the halloumi breakfast, he had the captain’s breakfast and we both really enjoyed them! The lady who greeted and served us was lovely and friendly and the service was speedy.

This place is a hidden gem, found a few weeks back while searching for another local breakfast venue. The food, service, and cleanliness is outstanding. We've only eaten breakfast there and there's an excellent selection which is cooked well and very tasty. I have scored a 5 based on the location, food, and service. I've not marked it down for the dog friendliness. We were there today, sat inside for breakfast, and there were 5 dogs in there, within a small area. The dog next to us was constantly scratching, and my wife has a dog allergy. We had to move and sit outside under an umbrella in the drizzle to eat the breakfasts we'd ordered. We knew it was dog friendly and there may be dogs in there, but it was a little too much. Just be aware, if you have dog allergies or don't like dogs, it may not be the place for you. We were in Felinheli doing some family research and came across this delightful cafe, had the Sunday roast in a bap, just what we needed, many thanks to Eddie and staff for making us so welcome, delicious food.

The new Sunday menu was delicious! I had the pork which came with apple stuffing and crispy crackling. It was amazing! The cafe itself is lovely and the staff were all really polite and helpful. Will definitely be returning

Stopped at The Swellies for a 10am brunch on our last day in Y Felinheli. Our plate-fulls were very generous and certainly set us up for the day. There was a good selection on the breakfast and on the lunch menu, including good vegetarian and vegan options. The haloumi breakfast was especially tasty. We needed a little walk, looking at the boats, as we were feeling stuffed!

Hidden gem. Having put my boat here I popped in for a coffee. Had the sweet potato fries and cappuccino. Superb. Excellent service, smiles all round and I will be back. (Especially on pizza night) Staff lovely and the banter was great. Highly recommended.

I came to this place with my parents for breakfast on the last day of our holiday in the apartment opposite the marina. Love the decor of the interior and the plants outside, and the local gifts you can buy are an unusual touch - I got some tea and my mum bought some wax wraps. The halloumi breakfast was delicious with just the right quantity and cooked splendidly. I also like the array of fruit and herbal teas as I am forbidden from drinking caffeine for medical reasons which is seriously heartbreaking and it gets a bit boring having the same old non caffeinated beverages. Staff are friendly and very prompt, I just wish we'd been more than once!

A superb place for lunch, or any other meal for that matter - good food, prompt & polite service and what better setting, next to the boats in the marina on a sunny day!

Visited with friends for a drink after a walk. Waited to be seated & another 10 mins for the order to be taken. Other people arrived after us and were served before us to food and drinks. The drinks arrived 20 minutes after the order was taken. Will not go there again.

My boyfriend ordered food this lunchtime ordered 2 clubs and 2 fries. The order phoned at 11:25 to collect food at 12:00pm & did not get it until 12:18. They kept saying it will be ready in 5 minutes. When he returned I was hugely disappointed with the club I had. The bread was toasted & burnt in parts. Barely any chicken in there, & way too much spinach in there. My boyfriend was hugely disappointed as well. Also last year for my birthday, I ordered a Southern Fried Chicken burger, which was burnt and the fries were not cooked enough. I am totally disappointed with The Swellies, the service has gone downhill, and very limited to what you can order. The pricing on the menu is too expensive for what it is, the standards used to be great, but unfortunately not anymore. I would not recommend this place and feel sad, plus totally disappointed. Probably won't go there again. I have heard someone else has given a negative and did not get a good response back. All I am saying is that I am a customer saying my opinion.

Visited today late. morning, I had read the reviews on here snd as we where passing thought we would call. it is a lovely little gem ’ of a place. it was busy and the waitress did say there was a long wait for food. We had coffee, cake & my daughter ordered hot dog .Couldn’t fault any of it. Staff where rally lovely and polite Food “best hot dog ever “ was my daughters words.Will defo being going again and will be recommending it to other locals..diolch.

My husband and I visited this lovely restaurant nestled in the small beautiful harbour . The umbrellas outside were out in case it rained , so we had some outdoor protection. We had a BLT and a lovely eggy bread brunch and it was excellent with quality ingredients . The two cappachinos were the best we have ever add and we will certainly be back.

What am amazing find! We ate outside (covid restrictions)a stunning view over the marina. The food was hot, fresh, delicious. We were able to get gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters fabulous food. Excellent staff, very clean, very organised, covid secure. Cannot wait to return.

I've just moved back to the area and am really grateful that the gang at the Swellies are still open. I pop in more often than I should to pick up cake and a coffee and have taken lunch in a box home a couple of times too when I've been too bored of my own cooking to bother.They are doing the best they can to carry on serving the local community and visitors with delicious food. It's unbelieveable that another recent reviewer criticised them for serving food in a covid compliant manner designed to keep her and her companions safe.Under the current circumstances to still be open and serving food with a smile on their faces is a miracle...especially considering some of the super rude customers who I hope stay away and never return to the area.

Please BE AWARE, food now served in a CARDBOARD box, not sure why it not on a plate that can be washed in a sink or dish washer. No one tells you this when you order. Then try to say it's take away only. We have eaten here numerous times, outside with waiter service.But previously served on plates with usable cutlery. Now you are still served outside but it's now classed as take away with a cardboard box and wooden cutlery with is useless with the hard bacon. And still have the cheek to charge full price for what they now say is "take away" food.It is a take away then waiter service to tables nor the tables should be offered. £23 for 2 captains breakfast in a cardboard box and 2 coffee's in a cardboard cup.

Takeaway only but I'm fine with that because the food is absolutely amazing. I took my somewhat gastro-snobbish friend here and even she couldn't fault it. The Korean BBQ burger was delicious and perfectly balanced,flavour wise. Good quality ingredients. The fries with various things on top were fresh,loaded with flavour and amazing. I'm going again this week and I want to order multiple things because it's all very very good. We were supposed to be having one of their more normal breakfasts (which all look great) but the burger and a Reuben steak club sandwich were a very good breakfast instead! Fast service too.

A lovely cafe with COVID measures in place. This means you can only have takeaway food, however there is plenty of seating outside by the marina. Plenty of choice of food and drink and service was quick. Highly recommend

Very busy but very good food. It was great sitting on the benches listening to the moored boots and the squabbling ducks. Burgers were top drawer and service excellent.

Fab takeaway breakfast. With COVID measures in place the team are efficient and preparing scrummy breakfasts for you to take away. Eggy bread brunch was a winner as was hot choc and sausage and egg bap! Definitely worth a visit on a dry morning!

We should have booked but luckily grabbed the last table. Husband had the Swellies breakfast and I had the Brunch. They were happy to accommodate changes and bring the drinks with the food. Service was great and the food excellent. Would have liked the option of a larger cappuccino maybe. Popped back Thursday for coffee and cake and sat outside as we had the dog with us...no dogs allowed inside, and that was lovely too. Nice to have somewhere like this to walk to if you're staying locally. Would recommend. Great menu and friendly service.

This afternoon we enjoyed a superb lunch at The Swellies. I decided on the Smoky Vegan Burger and it did not disappoint - very nice indeed! Such an enjoyable vegan alternative! Both of my friends had breakfasts (which are served all day) and yet again both enjoyed immensely! The Cortado with oat milk was also very good! Thank you we will be back

Visited on Valentine’s Day with my friends and considering the cafe was busy they still managed to fit us in. The food was to die for as well as the drinks (vegan hot chocolate is a must !!) It truely is a brilliant little find , and a continued favourite for my friends and I . We will be returning again for sure ! Highly recommend !

The Swellies was already lovely before the recent refurbishment and now it looks even better. Some minor aesthetic issues with the interior due to the nature of the building have now been modified and the cafe now looks as good as the food tastes!

Been here a few times now and have always been really impressed with the food and atmosphere. However, having gone here for the first time since their renovation, my friends and I were very disappointed. The food come in very small quantities compared to our previous visits, despite similar prices. It was also cold, hard and just unappealing. The toast was soaked through in butter and the eggs were just flavourless and bland. The only highlight was the orange juice which you could tell was freshly squeezed.

Popped into here for a couple of drinks early one rainy morning and enjoyed some nice coffee, a sit in comfort and a quiet read of the available magazines etc. Staff were lovely and the place is pleasant to spend a little time in.

This is a great cafe in a fabulous location on the Marina at Y Felinheli. It does great food, good coffee and a wide choice of teas. The mackerel pate is a particular favourite of mine and the breakfasts are stunning! The team are really lovely as well and it's just so nice to be able to pop in for tea, food and cake!

Wonderful place to visit. Situated on the bank of Y Felinheli marina, the Swellies are one of my favourite places to visit for food.

We went for breakfast and both had the brunch special and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, which was lovely. Returned in the afternoon for cake and a hot chocolate, again excellent. Staff were really nice, some great choices on the menu all at a reasonable price. I can highly recommend this lovely cafe and as it’s around the corner from where we’re staying, we will definitely be back for more

This was a find. We were looking for a light lunch in between a coffee shop and a full meal. This place is ideal. It’s a wee bit out of the way but well worth it. If it was warmer we would have sat out on the marina but inside the house music was cool!
