Whitehall in Gwynedd

Roast like your nan makes it! Delicious and lots of it at a good price. Nice atmosphere and great service. Make sure you arrive hungry, preferably after a session in the surf, or a long walk along the windswept coast. Good pint of welsh ale too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely friendly service, good selection of dishes. Our meals were excellently cooked, and great flavour. Enjoyed my sticky toffee pudding dessert, which I was told was made in-house. (I always ask, as commercially supplied ones are often too sweet for my taste)

Chosen from an internet search and Syke’s website for 5 of us on a Wednesday evening in mid October. It proved to be delightful with a very helpful member of staff, beautifully cooked good quality food and generous portions.

Really lovely lunch here having arrived in town with no booking. Initially put off by other Spoons etc offering near the harbour, Whitehall is tucked up a side road and such a welcome find. Nicely decorated and friendly but not overbearing staff were very helpful. I had the crab and prawn salad which came with very generous amounts of prawns and really good salad. The sweet potato fries I ordered were a greedy step but very good. Husband enjoyed his burger which was a proper butcher’s offering. Lovely all round and will return.

Visited here last week whilst staying nearby at Hafan Y Mor. Decided we fancied a meal out and liked the look of the menu at Whitehall. Rang up and the lady said she could squeeze us in (just 45 mins later). Upon arrival, was impressed with the appearance of the place. A traditional pub but with a separate dining area that felt like a restaurant. Menu was interesting and varied. To be honest, I could have tried everything! I ordered the Seafood Linguine, which was actually unreal. My wife had the Steak & Ale pie - which was actually a full pie rather than just a pastry topper (which is a rarity these days). This was also so good! My daughter had Sausage and Mash. This wasn't on the menu but the chef had no issues with changing the sausage, chips & beans/peas into sausage, mash, veg and gravy. Some places can be funny about changing menu items however clearly not an issue for Whitehall. Overall a really nice meal. Everything was fresh and homemade plus the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Thank you 👌😃

We booked beforehand ,we were shown to our table as soon as we arrived ,drinks and menu sorted we had starters mains and deserts , wine beer and coffee and water 💧 😀. The food was 💯 delicious and served promptly and hot . The whole ambience was amazing 👏 especially from the staff. Who couldn't do enough for us fellow diners on adjoining table who were from Nefyn were a delight to talk to . I must say that the seabass chowder ,full of shellfish and lovely vegetables in a delious fishy chowder creamy sauce ,was infact the best chowder I have ever eaten 😋 many many thanks for a delightful expierence. Booked a table of 8 on a recent trip to Pwhelli at short notice. The staff were really accommodating .On arrival we were shown straight to our table and the staff were really friendly. We ordered starters,mains,sides ,desserts and cocktails .Everything was fantastic,very tasty ,presented well and cooked to perfection. We couldn’t fault anything we were served and that’s saying a lot as a couple of us in the party are real “foodies “.The girl that served us ,(sorry can’t remember her name but I know it started with L and she had red hair) her service was impeccable,nothing was too much trouble for her,she was patient,kind ,very warm and friendly and she definitely added to the experience.

Booked on the off-chance after reading the reviews on here. Place was rather busy but the staff were efficient and friendly. A lot of the food on the menu seems pricey, but they do use a lot of local fresh lroduce and you get a proper plate full, so can't complain. Will visit again next time we are in Pwllheli.

I had booked a table for 20 people on the 1st June for a 50th Birthday. I can’t fault the service the 2 young people who served were a credit to you. I can’t say the food was up to scratch and extremely overpriced. On your menu online the prices are very different and legally you should not be charging more for food and drink to what your menus state online. To put this into context your lamb rump is £18.95 online and charged us £24.95 on the day. Our bill came to £590.00 we were in and out within 1 hour and 10 minutes. I really feel that your food is overpriced for the food that was served.

From the minute you walk into the well presented bar and dining areas, we knew we had made the right choice. Charming Staff who were tenative even though the place was busy, right down to the food we ordered, everything was a delight to eat, Seafood Linguine is a must along with the small plates!! The puddings are ridiculously good! Sticky toffee was the choice and it didnt disappoint, the place is great for all occasions!

We visited as a group of 2 x family of 4. The selection of meals was great, the team were very accommodating to individual requests. Children’s meals were great sizes for our 8 & 11 year olds. Really tasty food. Adult portions reasonable. Desserts were delicious and cheese board super. Really enjoyed our dining experience at Whitehall.

Fantastic evening tonight, lovely atmosphere, staff couldn’t do enough for us, food excellent . Can’t wait to return !

Couldn’t have asked for anything more! We didn’t book and were lucky to get a table on a Friday night. We had starters of Bao buns and chicken tacos- these were HUgE! Then lamb and a beef pie, both of which really tasty. Quick service and great atmosphere. We’ll be back!!

Family visit, during October 2023. Arrived early and happily seated. Lovely, friendly staff throughout the stay. Great atmosphere in the pub, as it became busier during our visit. A real 'local' feeling, but welcoming of us 'out-of-towners!' Food was impeccable, clearly with attention to local ingredients. The best of our holiday. Some nice local cask ales also. Strongly recommended - we'll be back without a doubt when we're in the area.

Looked at reviews for best places to eat in the area. Was one of the few pubs who actually served lunch in the are when we visited in mid October. The food was delicious, I had the Fish Pie and my partner had the Chicken Ballantine, both arrived piping hot. Highly recommended.
