I have been coming to Sweetpeas for many years. The food is excellence with a good choice at a very reasonable prices. The service is outstanding & Amir & Monica always run a very good cafe & never fail to impress. I recommend the cooked breakfast & the carrot cake is the best I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is great & there are always happy customers to be found. The cafe is very busy & I would suggest booking a table at weekends when it is especially busy. Added bonus is the free car parking in the garden centre car park. An excellent cafe worth going out of your way to visit!

We are regular visitors to Sweetpeas despite the fact that we have lots of other cafes closer to home. The menu at Sweetpeas is fairly extensive for breakfast and light lunches and they serve a wonderful range of homemade cakes at a reasonable price. The choices vary on a regular basis and there are often vegan cakes available. Favourites so far have been the peanut butter and banana and courgette and lime. The younger ones in our group love the blondies and cookies. I also love the fact that tea comes in a beautiful teapot with a china cup and saucer. They also include hot water so you can enjoy a second pot too. Hot chocolate and milkshakes have also been highly recommended. The team at Sweetpeas are friendly and the service is efficient. There's a reasonable amount of seating indoors, plus a covered outdoor area too. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

We are regulars at this café for good reason. The food is glorious and freshly cooked (especially the English breakfast and the cakes!) and the staff, especially the manager, are unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. Today, they were busy, as is typical for a Sunday, and a very difficult and rather entitled table (number 9, if you are reading this), continually complained about the service for frivolous and ridiculous reasons. The manager did his utmost to assist them with patience and good customer service. Having worked in customer service myself for many, many years and knowing exactly what customers like this are like, and how difficult it can be when you are under huge pressure, he handled it with grace and aplomb. We will, of course, be back, and encourage you to be too.

I came here with my 2 year old midweek for lunch. It's a lovely little cafe with indoor and covered outdoor seating. The staff were absolutely delightful, the food and drinks came very quickly and were yummy, and it was very reasonably priced. They have a huge menu with all day breakfast and were super flexible with meals and offered to do a child's size portion of the meal I ordered off the normal menu for my son. Loads of homemade looking cakes and biscuits on the counter which looked delicious and plenty of gluten free offerings including gluten free bread and brownies. They also have a box of toys that children can play with whilst waiting for food which was a total hit with my toddler. The only tiny downside was that the crisps that came with my toastie were a little stale, however that wouldn't stop me from recommending it highly and I think we'll make it a weekly trip!

My family and I used to be regular customers at Sweetpeas. However since the change of ownership the service has gone really downhill. Tables have been moved closer together and the quality of the food has really deteriorated. There are no longer any children's toys as we were told the old ones were unsafe, they haven't been replaced despite promises over several months to do so. We were also unfortunate enough to be present when the new owner was telling off one of his staff in a very inappropriate way and for all to hear. Such a shame as we used to enjoy our visits there and to the garden centre but I doubt we will be back.

My wife and I are both senior citizens, who live locally. As it was Sunday, we thought that it would be nice to eat out, so we decided to visit Haslemere Garden Centre and eat in Sweetpeas Cafe. When we arrived the cafe was quite full, so whilst I was ordering my wife approached an elederly lady (over 70), who was occupying a table for four and eating a bowl of soup, whilst reading a book. My wife politely asked if she would mind us sitting opposite at the same table. We were shocked and appalled when she very rudely and curtly replied; "Yes I do mind, if you sit here. I don't want you sitting here". My wife was visibly shocked, so I approached and enquired as to what the problem was. This extremely rude, ill mannered, arrogant and reprehensible old lady repeated that she didn't want us at the table. My wife moved away and went to sit outside in the cold, because there were no other spaces available inside and we had already ordered and paid for the food. I immediately approached the counter and informed the young assistant as to what had happened before retreating outside myself. As I walked towards the door I looked back and saw the young assistant smirking and laughing with a young customer. When the waitress delivered our drinks (OUTSIDE IN THE COLD IN FEBRUARY) she asked if everything was alright. I informed her that it was not, that I was really annoyed and that I had never been treated so badly and rudely in my life. The waitress informed us that the rude old lady in question was a regular and was known to be a somewhat awkward / odd customer. There was no offer to speak to the rude lady at all, but the waitress apologised. Our food was then delivered by someone else, who again enquired as to if everything was ok, and I again stated that it wasn't really and that it had spoiled our day. She apologised and offered us an alternative seat inside, but we declined, due to the fact that we didn't want to be anywhere near such an appalling person. This second waitress was also aware of issues relating to the rude old lady, so my wife stated that she felt that someone needed to speak to her, because she should not be allowed to dictate where customers can and can't sit and behave so poorly. However, we were informed by this waitress that she didn't want to speak to her for fear of inflaming the situation. To me that is almost as bad as the original insult. It just seems to me that staff are aware of this "regular" rude customer, but no-one is prepared to challenge her, for whatever reason. Furthermore, I cannot believe that this behaviour hasn't occurred before and will not occur again, especially if the rude old lady knows that such behaviour is tolerated. Perhaps, the cafe is prepared to lose customers, because we certainly won't be visiting again and we will not be recommending it to anyone. During my working life I worked with, and supported, hundreds of youngsters, who had serious behaviour problems. However, I cannot think of any who would have demonstrated such a poor repertoire of manners and behaviour as this emabarrassment to the over 65s population. Shameful behaviour and poor response from staff. Impossible to enjoy the food after this and would have walked out, if we hadn't already paid.

El café también hace el desayuno y el almuerzo. Porciones tarta eran de un buen tamaño y nos dieron al menos 4 tazas cada una de la olla (con una jarra de agua caliente con la jarra). The female staff dress untidily and at first we assumed the man - also dressed in black and with a cloth thrown across his shoulder - was there to empty rubbish bins etc. but we later saw that he too handles and serves food etc. The other day we saw several female staff, who whilst serving customers, had one plate of food on the counter which they were all dipping into. Three of the girls were handling and arranging one anothers' hair and all this at the same time as serving customers. In view of what could be seen one wonders about hand hygiene...

First impressions were good, the cakes on the counter looked lovely and were served by the only person who appeared to have any idea of food hygiene, however, the there was food and other debris on the kitchen floor, the bin was full to overflowing with no lid and foot pedal, the staff were wearing no protective clothing, the man had a tea towel over his shoulder which he appeared to use for everything including wiping his hands, he wiped his nose on the back of his arm, and on one occasion he had to be told to wash his hands. The welsh rarebit was very poorly presented with slices dumped on top of each other and the cheese running off the wooden board it was served on. Needless to say we will not be returning

This charming little gem of a café is tucked away at the back of a very average garden centre, offering far from average food. From breakfast/brunch dishes of eggs and smoked salmon on toast, their very own Sweetpeas Special Sandwich of eggs, bacon and mushrooms to huge bowls of thick homemade soup, an array of delicious paninis, all served with a generous and interesting salad (not the usual few wilting leaves), Welsh Rarebit, Ploughmans boards, quiches for lunch plus an incredible array of homemade cakes and scones available all day. Children are well catered for with boiled eggs and soldiers, 'packed lunch' baskets, fresh and zingy smoothies, rocky roads - I could go on and on. Everything served here is homemade, generous and served with a smile. The team are great. This is our favourite hide-out and it is worth noting that, as a Scone-a-holic, you won't find a better cheese, fruit or plain scone anywhere, not even in the west country; and what a delight to be offered a generous helping of butter and not those horrid little foil packs. We frequent Sweetpeas again and again and have never been disappointed.

It's a nice place serving good food. There are some books you can borrow and papers but seems to be nothing to keep the kids amused. A few second hand children's books would be very much appreciated by parents.

First visit to this delightful cafe, thanks to consistently glowing TA reviews.Went there with my Mum & Dad for lunch. Loved the light, airy space tucked away at the back of the garden centre.I can recommend the Welsh Rarebit, even in these devolutionary times. Heaps of strong flavoured cheese, melted onto a generous portion of toast and served with salad and pickle. Yum.M&D both had paninis, with brie, bacon and salad, and Dad declared it his new favourite version, usurping his regular panini fix in Guildford's Tunsgate cafe. The service was friendly throughout and the place was rammed on a cold December Tuesday, so the word is out.We will return. Possibly for the afternoon tea, which looks irresistible.A very sweet experience.

All my comments in my previous review are still correct. I was worried that when it changed hands it might stop being as good but it is still excellent. The new owners have kept it the same and I'm sure any changes they implement will be for the good. A must for breakfast, brunch, lunch or tea if you are in the area.

Great food and service. Good range of gluten free foods including cakes that were incredibly moist - a rare find in gluten free food. Tucked away so not too busy and a toy box that my toddler loved.

This is the third time I have dropped in for a cream tea.Fresh scone, clotted cream (yes real clotted cream) jam and a pot of tea.Cannot be beaten.Loads of people having real and healthy food as well including a family with a dog who was given a bowl of water. The garden centre itself is rather drab and you have to walk through it to get to the cafe, but don't let that put you off.

We have eaten here three times now, great food and service. Can recommend the Welsh Rarebit! The garden centre is also very good with helpful assistants. We bought a table/chairs and a barbecue which were all cheaper than online!

Never noticed this gem on tripadvisor before this week but popped in for lunch. The cafe is at the back of the garden centre but it was warm, pretty and cosy. It was heaving at lunchtime with all sorts of different people. The food is divine. It all comes served on wooden chopping boards and are very generous portions. The great thing is it tastes great as well as looking great.I am gluten and dairy free and they had 4 cakes/biscuits to choose from. I however went for smoked salmon, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce with GLUTEN FREE bread. It was £5.50 and I had the most enormous portion of salmon. All the other food was mouthwatering coming out of the kitchen. The other order of a beautiful quiche cam with a lovely dressed salad and an amazing looking chutney, it was around the £5 mark too,No negatives, apart from if you want to receive your food in 5mins at lunch time that's not going to happen as there so many people. However, it didn't take long at all and it is such a lovely cafe, run independently to the garden centre, why would you want to rush? A must try. Also they have soya milk, for those with dairy allergies and coffee is delicious too.

We went for lunch and all loved our food. Great sandwiches, all freshly prepared to order. Then we treated ourselves to some of their lovely cakes, they looked so amazing we just couldn't resist! I would go back just to have their coffee and walnut cake again! Forgive the garden centre setting, as this place is better than you would expect. Yummy!!!!

A really good selection for lunch: homemade soup, sandwiches with original fillings. Then if you have room for cake after there is always a large selection of home baked goodies. All at a reasonable price.

this cafe was so good that we went 2x in one day!! found by chance on route to a meeting. Had delicious snacks with coffee - returned for lunch on way home. Not found a better choice of homemade Gluten AND Dairy free cakes anywhere! Like another review said - catered seamlessly for my complex dietary needs. Great wholesome food, excellent presentation, swift preparation, lovely venue, friendly welcoming staff and good value. Wish I lived closer to Sweetpeas Cafe - will divert future journeys.

I took my mother and 2 of my offspring (in their early 20s) for lunch at Sweetpeas Cafe for the first time today, and what a find! The food was delicious - especially the home-cooked cheese, leek and mushroom quiche, and the sweet potato and pepperoni soup with home made granary roll - and beautifully presented. The drinks were all piping hot (just as we like them!), the service was speedy, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended for a light lunch with family or friends!

Came here purely on the strength of the other reviews and it really did not disappoint - with the HUGE bonus that they catered so seamlessly for coeliacs with a wide range of gluten free options and some cakes that were absolutely delicious. Light airy, friendly and reasonably priced the whole family enjoyed our lunch there. Can't wait until we are in the area again to visit here once more,

Dropped in for my birthday lunch yesterday with friends who have very high standards. Simply, we all had the perfect lunch experience. Friendly yet professional staff. Although busy, our order appeared within 5 minutes. The sandwiches were delicious and generous, served with a tasty salad. This was followed by great coffee and as it was my birthday...cake. The homemade cake was delicious. I will go out of my way to visit again and would have no hesitation recommending it. Our friends were very impressed and I am sure, will return. Well done Sweetpeas!!!

This little café is a delight from the moment you discover it, tucked away inside an average garden centre on the main road between Godalming and Haslemere. It is attractively decorated, cosy enough to hole-up with book or friends but light and airy with a lovely outdoor area and is run professionally to a very high standard by two young girls and their team, I visit very regularly and am always warmly welcomed; the food is ALWAYS of the highest standard, beautifully presented, very, very generous in size, delicious and extremely good value for money. This is one of those rare finds where the coffee is as good as the food and I have never yet had to take anything back or order something else because they've run out. The menu boards present the most scrumptious selection of sandwiches, rarebits and paninis - all served with a generous and imaginative salad - soups with homemade rolls and croutons, 'create your own salads' and the most amazing cakes and scones you will find anywhere. My personal favourite are their scones -always fresh out of the oven, large and satisfying with generous pots of butter (none of those horrid little packages) and once tasted no other will do! It is a constant joy to have this wonderful place on my doorstep and I have now introduced so many friends to its delights that I nearly always find one of them there!

We chose the Sweetpeas Cafe having seen favourable reviews on Trip Advisor. We too were impressed and thought it worth adding to the comments. This cafe is well above average for a Garden Centre cafe. The food was very good, service quick, setting is nice and the price was reasonable. My kids particularly recommend the oreo and bounty milk shakes, macaroons and rocky road!

This has been an after school favourite for my son and I for the last year, since we got bored with nearby Haslemere and fed up with greedy parking fees. One of the plus points of Sweetpeas is the easy, free parking onsite for the garden centre and the fact that we can wander around the fish (world of water based here too) or the small play area outside, both for free, so it makes a nice little trip out.The cakes and biscuits are fantastic and very reasonably priced. I love that there are usually four or five options of homemade biscuit type options (rocky road, flap jacks, giant cookies). These are well placed in large glass jars at the front of the counter, which makes them appealing to little ones. At just 80p, these are fantastic value as many places often just serve larger muffins, slices of cakes that are just too much for kids. However, these are not just aimed at kids and I can confirm they are delicious, just right when you want a little something instead of a heavier slice of cake.I've also visited at lunchtime with friends or family and the sandwiches and ploughmans are just as tasty as the cakes and beautifully presented. The all day breakfast options look lovely too, something for me to try in the future.Afternoon tea (which is available at lunchtime too, not just for tea) is great value. For 9.95 you get a full size sandwich with side salad, mini scone with jam and cream, slice of cake of your choice and pot of tea, all presented on proper old fashioned tiered cake stands.Staff are always friendly too. In short, I have nothing but praise for this café. It really is worth a visit.

This was our second visit and it was as good if not better than the first. The Ploughman's featured a good role, crumbly cheddar, pickle, a small salad, a scotch egg ( or pork pie) and a pickled onion with as much bite as a bull terrier - just what I needed! I'll be back for another soon.

I have been going to the cafe with my boys after school for years. I always feel welcome and able to relax. The cakes are lovely and good price for the portion size. There is a good variety and new things to try most weeks. The staff are always very friendly and make us feel welcome unlike the high street chains where you have to queue for ages and get a more production line experience. If you want something on the menu but want it changed slightly the staff always help. It is both child friendly and a good place to relax and have a chat without the kids. If you want a quite unique fresh and cosy place to stop and enjoy company over a tea and cake then this is the place.

The Bluebell is such a great pub. Great location, indoor and outdoor seating, great food and the staff are always really friendly.
