Israar and Waqar head the amazing team .Ive been coming here since I was a kid and have so many amazing memories .The Sweet Centre has a magic energy about it and the food is made with love .and tastes delicious xxx

Ordered sheek kebabs and samosas, they were average. The kebabs were a bit chewy.

Been to this restaurant hundreds of times and we have never had anything bad. The food is the best in Bradford or even the UK. We are very fortunate that we live in Bradford and can visit often for such wonderful food. People travel from all over to this place. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. You’re not just a customer, you are treated like friends or family. Food is cooked fresh. The place has a loyal customer base. Has recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and hopefully open for many years to come. They have won many awards and well deserved too. The place is currently having a refurbishment. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Don’t be put off by any of the bad reviews, they aren’t for this restaurant. Give the place a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Best curry ever i am now 50 years of age and have visited this restaurant since I was seven years old The food is always consistent and hasn't changed in all this time.authentic delicious and leaves you wanting to return again and again.i travel from batley to Bradford for this and it is always worth it never EVER has it let me down.value for money and lovely friendly staff ALWAYS made welcome and fed like kings and Queens.an absoloute must for the curry lover.

long queues need to open more tills

I was on the queue for takeaway one of the staff asked me eating in or out I said takeaway other staff who is very rude said go other side for takeaway. There is only two people on the queue the way talk to me and other customers in front of me we both very disappointed for his behaviour.I think he is new boss. He never need to change behaviour.very rude.they use served chana puri with chutney he didn’t give me any chutney

Been here several times and generally food is good. However on this occasion, the samosa was soaking in oil. Seekh kebabs were ok.

Not good, plus they no longer include the mint sauce with the seekh kebabs and somosas. Delivery was good nothing agaimst in the courier, the low rating is against the restaurant food and service.

Not your usual ersatz Indian restaurant. It has its own history and identity and is now owned by the third generation of the founding family. Such a warm and friendly place with excellent food. Be aware, it doesn't sell alcohol but that's a minor point when the overall experience is so good.

Very friendly staff, food is amazing!

I last visited the Sweet Centre some 20+ years ago . I was in Guisley visiting my son and decided to reacquaint myself en route home. It's not changed much. This is not a modern Asian restaurant with dim lighting, setees and modern surroundings. It is large, light and airy, kind of old fashioned. The tables are wipe clean tops, it's not a romantic atmosphere. What it is is great food, clean, not expensive and with fabulous caring and personal service from a 3rd generation family waiter. Yes, it's been running 60 years! This is probably "an authentic as it gets" Kashmiri restaurant in the UK. It has a long and loyal customer base, after all, I can claim I've been going 20 years and I live 100 miles away...

If I could give this 0 stars I would. All that hype. Food is not nice. Wish I had read the reviews and listened to them. Food was not cooked properly and some was burnt. That photo of the bad review was exactly what my food looked like yet the restaurant made it sound like they got the place mixed up. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Took a party of 18 to the Sweet Centre in early March, and couldn’t have had a better experience. We had booked the function room towards the back of the restaurant in advance, and were invited to drop off our drinks prior to our visit, which was a lovely touch. Waqar and his team couldn’t do enough for us from the moment we walked through the door - they showed us to the room, brought us our chilled drinks, and talked us through the menu individually, giving us their recommendations. The food arrived in very good time considering we weren’t asked to pre-order, and it was of the best quality. We had a range of starters, mains, sides and breads and it was all fresh and delicious. Waqar then went the extra mile and arranged a surprise dessert for our group, which again was a great touch. Overall, a brilliant night with incredible food, top-notch service and lots of fun. Thanks again to Waqar and his staff - we’ll be back soon!

The seekh kebabs are nice but they were delivered over 1 hour after the scheduled delivery time which is pretty poor as I had to wait around an extra hour at home.

Has been our Asian food choice since we came to Bradford 30 years ago. One of the oldest curry houses in Bradford. If you want a beer then bring your own.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at an authentic Asian restaurant , and I can't recommend it highly enough! The highlight of my meal was definitely the seekh kebabs; they were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Each bite was tender and juicy, with a wonderful blend of spices that made them truly unforgettable. Not only was the food exceptional, but the customer service was top-notch as well. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that my dining experience was nothing short of fantastic. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which really added to the overall experience. These are probably the best sheekh kebabs outside of Birmingham. It'd be awesome if they could cook them fresh over a coal fire! 🔥 I would be delighted to come back again. Thank you, Bradford.

A Legendary Establishment used to stop here on way back home to the midlands. Was up north had to go down Memory lane and ended up on Lumb Lane where Sweet Centre is. Didnt really have too much to eat due to travelling but what we did have was Bang On, happy to see they are still in Business and cant wait to pop in again In Sha Allah

The perfect Valentines Day meal! Myself and my partner came today and the service went above and beyond- it really does hang onto the family feel of the restaurant. You are welcomed like a long lost relative! The food was amazing! I got the medium chicken tikka masala balti and it was honestly potentially one of the best I’ve recieved and I’ve travelled to numerous restaurants for a good curry. The service was the highlight of the meal however even though the food is to die for, they really do care about their customers and it shows. Thank you for making our Valentine’s Day special 🫶.

100% coming back to this place! I last went 10 years ago and the food was outstanding! Went for Valentine’s Day today, and the food and service is just as good! The chicken balti is amazing and the starters such as the samosas and kebabs are the best we’ve ever had. My partner asked if she could take some pickle to take home and the house member gave us 4 on the house along with a free can of Coke for the drive home to add to the amazing service. Definitely the best in Bradford if your looking for authenticity

We've been coming here for 11 years now and have never even thought to leave a review. Food is amazing (so much so we're there most Fridays for our tea) and nothing is ever too much to ask. The owner, his brother and all the staff are so welcoming. See you next Friday guys 😂

A national institution, the legend that is sweet centre. The best food establishment in the north. You will never find a tastier kebab elsewhere. The curries are divine. There is a reason that they have stood the test of time.

This is the best curry I’ve ever eaten. Seriously good, very authentic to the family traditions. Last visited this iconic restaurant around 1990. The service was friendly and hospitable. Will be back for more very soon. Highly recommended. Established in the 60’s the place is an absolute 💎 of Yorkshire.

Ordered breakfast from here this morning absolutely disappointed the seekh kebabs were burnt and samosas too there didn't even give us any mint sauce when asked by the staff there was very rude I cannot believe this place as been here for so long and the service and food has gone downhill sweetcentre isn't the same anymore avoid this place it's disgusting if you don't want to get ill all there do is warm the food up in the microwave and serve u I won't ever come to this place again. I have the right business i do now where I ordered from and I will not be removing the review as I won't people to now to avoid this place your food is disgusting so is your service your business on lumb lane am referring too so I have the right business

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Sweet Centre. The delivery was over an hour late, and food was cold and soggy. Not the same as it use to be

Wow!! What a superb authentic Asian restaurant this is. The food is of the highest quality and is a taste sensation, carefully and skilfully blended spices to create the most amazing curry ever. We had the Balti chicken murgh and Balti goscht, the latter being the favourite. Not only was the food amazing, the customer service was too. Lovely lovely kind people who take the time to talk to you and explain about the food and the start of there fabulous restaurant, which they are quite rightly very proud of. I just wish more food establishments could get it right just like these guys do. Thankyou so much for a wonderful experience. We will be back very soon.

Such a shame the original Sweet Centre restaurant is being confused with the obviously vastly inferior takeaway on the corner. The original sweet centre is the same now as when I first ate there 35 years ago! Bhuna, Madras, seekh kebabs, everything here is consistently good, as is the service from Waq and the rest of the team. GO TO THE RESTAURANT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLOCK, **NOT** THE ONE ON THE CORNER!

I ate here a couple of months ago for breakfast and can highly recommend! The food was delicious... I'm still dreaming of the bread...😍. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rest of the customers were super welcoming too - which made for a lovely experience. Bradford has got to be one of the friendliest places I've visited. 5/5 for food, service and atmosphere - Google won't let me adjust the scoring!!

Great service and food was fresh. I got parantha, chanai and samosa and egg. All tasted amazing - tickling my taste buds. Great authentic feel in the space and delicious food made to my tailored requests for the parantha and egg. The desi tea tops it all off - traditionally made with quality. You can't get desi tea like this anymore across many other new shops which have popped up now. Would highly recommend!

You cannot beat the seekh kebabs here, the food is fresh hot tasty. Best breaksfast in bradford, reccomend ordering before hand as the waits can be long due to how busy they are every morning.

Just dined at the great Sweet Centre Restaurant, I have to say what a meal, started with the Seekh Kebabs and Kashmiri fish, Mouthwatering, our main we had the Lamb off the bone and Torkah dal, with Tandoori Roti and Chapatis, this has topped any restaurant in Bradford I have visited so far, the chef came and asked if the food was good, exceptional, very hospitable waiter as well, top marks all around

Been going to the Sweet Centre for 20+ years. Always been an incredible, authentic curry. The dishes never seem to change in quality. The staff are fantastic and friendly.

Absolutely pathetic! Ordered food chap at the front with the waistcoat all over the place, didn’t know day of the week. I ordered a large order of starters, he goes I didn’t charge you for it, PRINCIPLE WAS I DID TELL HIM NUMEROUS TIMES 15X KEBABS, & 5 SAMOSAS. Lesson learnt, and I’d recommend you all go to the breakfast place instead different owners and better, service! All I got was a sorry at the end, and no consideration for the travel back to the branch.

Happy 60th Birthday Anniversary- what a wonderful meal we had too. I ate a separate starters and my main was lamb with a daal. (Samosas £3.50 pakoras £4.95 and Shish kebabs, Balti Gosht £13.99, Tarka Dahl £7.95). All together we spent at least £80 and were charged £55. For seven meals including take out. They generously gave a 30% discount as part of their birthday celebrations. The meal was very filling and portions were large. The food tasted delicious too. Authentic beautiful foods.

Use to love it still love it but they stop taking cards which is not good if customers out side off city with come no cash not on top driving trailer hardly find parking but when get in they don't take cards cash only have to give business to other places food is nice though.

Payai were not fresh, and was charged 16 for a small tube, they were not made today, the taste was awful. I expected the food to be at least fresh, and not cold.

Make sure the charge you right money. Because we been charged extra for food which we already paid over the counter... although food wasn't nice too.

The place is cramped. This is no rule Pakistani style queuing. It is busy until 1pm and the place is cramped. First come, first serve. Now the food - you want halwa puri get there by no later than 12 noon or it’s naan instead. The channay are serviceable and the halwa tastes buttery and isn’t sickly sweet. The naan are good. Biggest disappointment is the seekh kebab - they look like turds (God forgive me!) - chewy, bland and even with the sauce it’s not good. The tea is serviceable but the mango lassi was standout. It’s good to go and say you’ve been - but I wouldn’t go again. It’s a landmark and back in the day people would come from all over to have the halwa puri. Parking is not possible so we walked from the city centre which took 25 minutes and it was a simple walk. Upshot is most YouTubers who review halal food actually have no taste and it’s clear they get paid to give reviews. Please do go and once you’ve been then you can say you’ve been. No a repeat destination.

Israar and Nisar were so helpful and so supportive. This is a place that you need to get yourself down to as you feel like you’re eating in your house. The food was pipping hot and amazing and there were not complaints about it. The service however was the best service received at a restaurant hands out.

Brother Waqar and Brother Asrar are two of the most genuine and kind-hearted people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service was spot on. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lively yet comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. I travelled all the way from Leeds, and it was worth every mile. This place brought back such fond memories of my childhood, when I used to come here and enjoy their famous seekh kebabs. The flavours were just as incredible as I remember, if not even better, and every bite felt like a trip down memory lane. This is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Whether you’re local or visiting from further afield, it’s a must-visit. The food, the people, and the overall vibe make it a truly special place. A solid 100/10 from me – don’t miss out on this gem!
