Amazing food at Akbars Cafe as always. Our waiter Faizaan showed great customer service skills by attending to the table throughout our meal and ensure our food was given promptly.

Food took over an hour to arrive. The chips were cold for the children which were sent back and ordered again. One child’s meal arrived after we had all finished eating! Some naan’s were burnt on the edges and one naan was uncooked, you could feel the uncooked dough. The mains was no better either, it felt like we had eaten nothing! The food plates were cold hence making the curry cold once served on the plate; one plate was chipped! We did highlight this to the manager who deducted around £20 from a bill of £350. Not good enough. We have been coming to Akbar’s for many years but this had to be one of the worst service and food. Personally I think the standards have gone and I for one won’t be coming again.

Every time you ring their number they never answer calls for the past half an hour I have been calling on their number to place an order for collection but no answer!!

Served by Ali, incredibly nice and polite man who tended to every need and was very hospitable. Due to this experience, I'd be more than happy to come back again. Food was yummy too. He packed all of it for us which was really kind of him.

Asked them if they have mix grill, they said £40 as it’s massive then i said it’s fine we will get it as we can pack rest, they brought it out and the portion was shocking, manager had nothing to say… disappointed.

Karachi gosht looked like mince meat. The naan was doughy and very little butter. Prawn dynamite was good. Fish Karachi lacked taste Overall would not go again

Maybe it used to be king of curry but not anymore, what it used to taste like 5/10 years ago is not what it tastes like now. Quality has degraded and shortcuts are taken to maximise profits.

A busy restaurant, a little noisy but didn't put me off the meal. I tried the new Charsi Dish which was very nice. Portion sizes are very generous.

Service really slow and not good, had to wait 1 hour for the food and even then we only got the food after we said we'd leave if it didn't come, food was cold, and waiter never brought the cutlery.the quality of the food is not worth the price you paying eg, £5 you get one piece of kebab !

Great place to come with family and friends. Got starters mains and dessert, all were served in good time. Started off with the chicken Nambali which was served a little colder than usual but was okay ish 5/10 Mains was Keema and Peas Korai with a side of mushroom rice which was very tasty 8/10 Dessert was a Mega chocolate fudge cake which was very chocolatey, as a sweet tooth is was incredible 8/10 Would reccomend coming here with friend and family and would come again. Food was nice as usual but the service was poor. We ordered starters and mains but we received the mains (chicken tikka masala and gosht) before the starters🤦🏽‍♂️. We had to ask them about our starters. Starters came 5 minutes after the mains minus 2 naans🙄. After we started to eat the mains, we asked about our masala fish. The waiter came back and said they'd just run out of fish. One of our group had no starters. It would have been nice of them to have told us before hand so we could have ordered another starter. We sat upstairs in the "family area" where the waiters all looked like students.

DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ABUSED AND HARASSED! Very rude staff. Came back to use the toilet and the waiter was aggressive to a woman with children. Ridiculous given how much money we spent.

Visited for first time since covid. Raja our waiter was very attentive. Food excellent. 10/10.thankyou raja. From your 3verypleased elderly ladies, Naomi, margaret and kay. Will call. Again soon.

I went with my family today to open iftari we were greeted by the manager the short guy with curly hair with his clip board in his hand, no salaam just asked our name and told us to go and sit upstairs. His attitude towards us was very rude obviously thinks too much of himself that he couldn’t even give salaam to us. The food was just as bad as his attitude ordered shepherds pie no mash forever fighting with the tons of cheese, food has gone downhill as well as the customer service.

This place has gone downhill the service from the guys in white shirts was appalling, no salaam no welcoming whatsoever the food is overrated aswell, i would normally come here regularly with family and enjoy the food and service but after today not anymore the place has turned into joke.

Nice food as always, good atmosphere and fast servive considering it was a full house, staff were very helpful and polite.

All the food here is nice, but I actually can't fault the chocolate fondant wow with stracciatella ice cream is to die for!

Akbars was a decent cafe before or maybe takeout service is rubbish. We ordered chicken kebabs, Choc lava cake , two drinks and mint Choc chip ice-cream. The kebabs wernt even cooked, the lava cake wasnt their own and they forgot our drinks. I went back in and the man at the door said go to the main desk not the till to get my drinks. I went to the main desk and the lady was so rude she said no,no go to the till. I said I've been told to come here she still didn't get it. In the end she did but the attitude and customer service was disgusting. The person who served and took my order was rude too, he kept saying and and rather than letting me finish. He was called Ibraheem.

Amazing food and amazing service. Me and my family were served by one of the managers called Amaan - 10/10 service delivered. It was very busy but he still managed to adhere to our needs and satisfaction and made sure we was content. Will definitely be back and would 100% recommend this place for both food and service.

Food has gone down hill unfortunately and not value for money anymore, starters and mains do not taste the same anymore and mocktails very poor! Unfortunately want be going back, you can get better value for money elsewhere! Cutlery also very dirty and staff did not ask preference for spice of dishes.

Definitely gone down hill. Staff stood around doing nothing, food was served 45 minutes after my friends. Was told to wait and still nothing. Waiter did not show any interest and was rude about the situation. Food very average. Complained to the manager who didn’t seem very bothered either.

The food used to be really good here but it's really gone downhill, there was 25 of us who booked a few tables and no one enjoyed their food. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Food was bland and it wasn't like this a couple of years ago. The management need to do better .

Eat from here all the time, MaShaa’Allah must say the food is always on point no complaints what’s so ever, only when their busy the food does take a lot longer but that’s understandable due to how busy they are, the staff are always nice and well mannered some names such as the brach manager sammy I believe his name is, he has the restaurant under order at all times and there’s a tall good looking fella can tell go goes gym alot naz his name is very polite but the highlight is the chap called raja with the black hot that he always wears, his customer service is the best I’ve seen but over all, all of the staff are amazing credit to the whole team keep it up!

This place has definitely gone downhill. Poor service from staff. Food is average. We ordered meat dishes and honestly the meat was like rubber. The glasses were filthy had to have them exchanged. Would not recommend at all.

Just standing outside of the place you can tell that it’s a fantastic restaurant, straight away as soon I’ve entered the restaurant the staff members has greeted me with warm smiles and a nice welcome, they told me to take a seat and they will find me a table. Once I managed to get to my table and ordered my food the waiter made sure that we were comfortable before he taken our order, after taking the order he red the order to us to make sure that he got everything written down which was good so that it makes me feel ensure that my order was fully taken correctly. After sometime waiting for my food I could just smell the nice fragrant lamb chops being placed on my table, as soon I’ve bitten into it I just feel I love with the food, honestly this is my new #1 lamb chops and their burgers was delicious as well. Overall it is a great place, you feel relaxed and welcome and it has a nice atmosphere, will definitely come back here!

I went to this place with my family the food was ok but the staff was horrible they told us that we Caint have 5 separate orders and quite embarrassed us everyone heard and the chef was extremely rude we would have some dessert Which we normally do but because of the embarrassment and rudeness we just couldn’t enjoy

Very good food, soo busy, they have a restaurant literally 2 min walking distance, which are probably a few different Items, and they sell alcohol, so the cafe works better and the service is just amazing

Poor experience overall chicken Nambali had loads of Fat on it & was very hard for my son to enjoy or EAT, however informed the branch manager no care in the world, shocking no respect or care just states that's how it get's delivered from the butchers. Service has substantially gone downhill since after opening hours have changed. The dish was full of ginger & green chillis in the pan not very nice at all, we asked for mild/medium was very spicy, the prices have gone high appreciate that however does not justify this as the quality has definitely gone down altogether, was not a nice experience. Would not recommend anymore, the level of quality & service has shrunk & not the same as it was back in the day, new management do not seem to care of its customers, overall its just a name now. Food levels out of the window very disappointing & heartbreaking altogether informed staff did not seem to care at all just seem to be standing in one special corner.

Service vastly improved since last time I went. Food great as always. Even the butter chicken is nice here. Decor ok but not the most important thing as long as the food remains good.

Standard keeps dropping everytime we visit. Chef dropped my lamb chops on the table, no apologies or anything. Then they give me a Chicken Lasagne instead of a Keema Lasagne, end up waiting 10 more minutes for it for it to come no way what it usually looks lol. Was dry in the middle. Manager was way too defensive about it when he knew he was wrong.

Food was perfect. The masalah fish had the perfect crisp 👌 and the paya dish was just right. Our waitor, hamza exercised amazing customer service skills; he had engaged with me and my mother, fulfilled each demand immediately, overall looked after us. If my mothers happy with the service then so am I hence why the 5 stars.

The food was disappointing considering how busy this place is. Pretty standard food. Starters were decent. Burgers disappointing and the karai wasn't as good as other places I have been to.

Finally got to eat in at a restaurant after the lockdown and me and my friends decided to visit here. The food, as always, was delicious. The wait for the food was good too and customer service was great.

I came Saturday evening the table had just been cleaned prior to us being seated, and when we sat down there was a stale bacteria smell from the dish cloth that they used to clean the table with, I did not expect this from a restaurant, hygiene should be a priority.

Needs some renovating, we got a booth downstairs which was quite cramped, but the decor wasn’t great as the table was coming off from against the wall and there was sellotape running along the length of the ceiling to cover the ventilation system. Then toilets are shocking, there is a real lack of hygiene and they were worst than truck stop/service station toilets as you could tell from looking at them that they’d not been cleaned thoroughly, the floor was greasy and very slippery. Plus they stank, which is just disgusting, especially if you’ve come from out of town! Service was ok, the food arrived quick and was mediocre. The ice cream was the best bit if I’m honest

Wow absolutely fantastic service. Our waiter was so attentive and nothing was too much trouble.. even when extremely busy. Highly recommend a visit here.. fabulous fresh hit food and so tasty.

Akbar is one of the best restaurants in the North of England and it had not opened a restaurant in my hometown in Blackburn yet. The food is great and the service was good but sometimes it is a busy place and table and chairs are just to close together with other diners.

Nice food as always but the place was cold, all restaurants need to invest in how to keep their places warm, its not enjoyable being cold but the food also gets cold quick so needs looking into but the food is quality

Had a nice meal with family at Akbars Cafe. Food was nice. Service was excellent by our waiter Amir, who was friendly, polite and professional. Atmosphere was ok, bit loud. Only thing that annoyed me was lack of parking, which is worse when it's raining. But overall it was nice and I'd recommend.

I don’t understand the hype of this place. The food is standard with limited variety. The service is good. The cafe is always very noisy and busy.

Good food but not outstanding for the price....chops and chicken pakore were good but Seekh kabab were under cooked Beef schezwan is always scrumptious but lasagne was not good at all... I can make a lot better than that :) lolz

We waited almost an hour and our food wasn’t served. Others who came much after us ate and left and were given decent customer servicwho have become staff membere. So we asked for my sons food as he was very hungry. They did serve this up quite quite only however, our food still took almost an hour with no valid reason.e back in hindsight, me and my family should have left after my son had eaten but we really needed our food as my mum was diabetic and we were all really hungry. I notified the staff member at the reception who called another staff member. His answer was. ‘I’m sorry about that. We will try to improve for next time.’ I guess that is his default reply to anyone with a complaint. During payment, there were two young people. Another two young people were there, for no reason but I’m assuming they are young family members who have been appointed as staff members. So I tried to clarify how upset and shocked we were as Cafe de Akbars has always been close to our heart and never failed to please. While making these comments, the young people just stared, making some faces as they didn’t like hearing what we had to say. I still don’t know why to this day they treated us like that and others were treated faster and fairly. We are of Bangladeshi descent and looking at my mum they would have guessed because of her appearance, her attire such as wearing a sari and her reddish lips and teeth due to Betal nut and pan chewing. I do hope it wasn’t because of this as all the staff members seemed to be unavailable for us. We don’t know what we did to deserve this treatment especially as my mum has health issues, I am her Carer and this was suppose to be a nice family day out for my little boy and my sister too. Life’s hard as it is and it is these small days out that help us to feel some sense of relief if that and this experience did not give us the famous Akbar treatment that we all know and love. Obviously we won’t EVER be returning here and I do hope they learn to respect everyone who enters their restaurant despite of looks, attire or creed. Not sure why this happened as we have always enjoyed eating in a Akbars dining place. Please find the causes or limits of low quality customer service and spend more money on this instead of expensive chandeliers and umpteen chairs and tables where there isn’t even enough room to walk through to get to another table! Spend your money well and learn some manners!

Best Asian food/service in Bradford.

Havnt been here in years, so thought I’d try it again, realised why I stopped going, the Music is just blaring out, I was having to shout to be heard, which is something I don’t want to do when I’m out with friends, we were sat next a rowdy bunch of girls screaming and burbing and gagging aswell, they were vaping, The manager needs more training on how to deal with idiotic customers who just spoil the evening for others, some of us have limited time to go out and my one day off was ruined coming here…No class at all..

AWESOME RAJA ZINDABAD Phenomenal experience. Top notch food, atmosphere, and the staff specially BIG RAJA (waiter) always there looking after us,he really made us feel special thank you once again raja ji. Amazing experience all around. I will always take my family and friends there from now on, just speechless. The food was just superb. Definitely a lifetime customer! Thank you to all the staff at Akbar's cafe.

We had a dine in experience with our friends. I got the vegetarian macaroni, which was OK however, the staff was extremely welcoming and efficient, and we enjoyed celebrating our friends birthday.

we used to come here at uni, since then the customer service has absolutely flourished. We were meant to take the waiters name, he had a mild accent- had coloured contacts in- honestly one of the best services we have had in Bradford. I told my friends once their business starts up and running- they need to pinch people like him for their healthcare practice
