Amazing pub! Fantastic quizz every Wednesday with cash prizes! Poppy and Sophie behind the bar yesterday full of smiles and cheerfulness as always 🙂

Quite possibly one of the worst atmospheres I have ever experienced. The disgusting way a male supervisor spoke to a young girl was quite frankly a disgrace. This is clearly an incredibly toxic workplace. Other customers were shocked and felt the need to intervene. Senior managers need to look at this pub immediately.

Food was delicious. We were greeted at the bar and shown to our table which we booked and they gave us information about the menu which was brilliant. Our server was Sophie she was excellent and very informative about the drinks and the whole experience was very pleasent

Went into the swan on wednesday night and had a lovely experience. Food was amazing and especially the service i got from a young lady named Poppie. She was a delight to have and made an amazing atmosphere. Always had a bright smile on her face and was speedy with her responses to any enquiries i had.

Would be a 5 star, but to force patrons to pay for parking, even when eating and drinking here is pretty cheeky. Most places with paid parking have an ipad for customers to enter their registration. None the less good beer.

Dirty glasses and verbal abuse . Bought 2 ciders, about half way through drinking I realised both glasses were filthy around the rim with grime and lipstick . When I took them back I was offered a re pour for both . Unfortunately I had to catch a train in 5 minutes so I couldn't. I was told there was nothing they could do . The problem I have is this , when I left , the gothic girl and the guy with the floppy hair were calling me a liar and saying nasty things about me including swear words . I know this because I had a family member stood there hearing it all . They said I was after a free pint although I declined that option numerous times. As a local to Thatcham, I now remember why I stopped coming here . I will be placing a formal complaint for the abuse my family member had to listen to .

Good quality food. Value for money.

A lovely experience all round, mostly because the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We visiting as part of a charity rowing trip and were treated a real bed after camping for several days. Can’t fault the food and room for the money and all the young women that served us was very friendly and helpful.

popped in for something to eat, was served by sophie. sophie was very bubbly, polite, very welcoming and made everything very easy. the food was good, a decent burger cooked good and a generous portion of chips to go with. would definitely recommend a visit.

I visited the pub last night with some friends and family to do the Brush Party event that is on once a month down there. Food was spot on before hand, the ribs platter was incredible! Thankyou Chef Mark! The team on was super lovely & lovely, overall a really fun evening!

Food was great except they need more gravy also more vegetables with the roast and the beef was abit thin. the chocolate brownie sunday was fantastic.

We popped in on our way through on our boat. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and excellent value. Definitely recommend 👌

Only thing that disappointed me was having to pay for parking.

We haven't been to this pub for some time as it used to be awful, however after a week of sunny weather decided to give it another go. Got off the train (where the pub is opposite to) at 6.50pm, walked in to be told they were not serving food as they had run out!. C'mon, surely you would expect it to be busy on a sunny week and order in extra supplies. So once again we left disappointed and went elsewhere just a short walk away where we had a lovely meal. Somehow don't think I'll be giving this pub a 3rd chance.

Lovely quiet saturday, staff were really friendly. Big shout out to Amy, sophie, Ben and elle who were very attentive. They do a really good Guinness as well. Had a bite to eat and the food was delicious!

I love this pub and the food was great and we were served at the bar by Charlie. What a lovely guy he is so friendly a breath of fresh air I just wish everybody was like him and made you feel as Welcome as he did 😀😀

Come down to the swan every Wednesday for the quiz night, Scott does a cracking job week in week out and delivering an entertaining quiz and the prizes aren’t half bad either!

Everything you require from a pub, made excellent by the surprisingly exceptional service. Special mention to James who's very welcoming and friendly. Also to the unforgettable Nicole whose professionalism, mannerism and smile make for a wonderful and memorable service!

Not the most luxurious of places... though food was perfectly OK and good value. BUT our visit was MADE by the great attitude of the staff, especially the lovely Nicole out front and Scott behind the scenes

Food and service very good as always with very good pricing. Our favourite place for a pub meal.

The ambience was buzzing for a Saturday afternoon, very good atmosphere well managed with friendly staff. We had 4 jackets. The garnish salad was delicious and a change from classic boring iceberg, tomato and cucumber 😁 It was a little light on the filling for £8 but the potato was nicely cooked and soft. Will return and try other dishes. Other tables food looked very good

Good value food and bar staff hard working - Nicole was especially helpful and considerate. But... Kitchen were not preparing food as described by the menu (and then denying it) and bar front was badly understaffed: 10 mins to get served for a drink. 15 mins for food (barman walked away mid order twice to deal with other issues). Two staff "front of house" dealing with food and drinks service was not enough today.

The pub was packed as Saturday 1 March around 1pm and only 2 working Nicole and James coped very well done lot of stress fabulous service

Shout out to the chef Mark and Kieran, who make the most delicious southern fried chicken burgers! Very tasty

Pleasantly surprised after being a little apprehensive after arriving to a slightly noisy dog in the bar area. The food was brilliant and really affordable as well. The puddings topped off a fantastic lunch. Thanks to the waitresses and mark and Kieran in the kitchen

Had a great last night. Also a big shout out to Saedi. What truly sets Saedi apart is the personal touch she brings to her interactions with customers. She remembers their favourite drinks, asks about their day, and makes everyone feel like a VIP. Her ability to connect on a personal level with guests makes every visit to The Swan memorable.

Met up with some friends at lunchtime on the 14th February. The staff were friendly, the food was good and it was lovely to catch up with my friends. The only problem was that there was no heat at all in the pub. The staff were wearing their coats and we had our coats and gloves on. Think they may have had a problem with their heating but I found that when I got home that it took me ages to get warm because I had got so cold. Sat with a hot bottle, had lots of hot drinks, blanket. Think I will leave going there for a while which is a shame because I have been there a few times and never had this problem before. Not much fun sat in a pub with no heating at all.

Great visit last night arrived a bit later the pub was busy with a great atmosphere. Emma looked after us checked us in and organised a bit of food which was cooked perfectly. Rooms were warm clean and had everything you need. will be back

Pub was ice cold customers wearing their coats staff standing around the bar dishwasher to keep warm saying their hands were frozen, regarding food I had the ultimate beef burger which I don’t recommend not very ultimate (tiny)

We received a wonderful welcome from the team as they showed us to our table. The dining experience was friendly and unrushed which helped my dad who at 86 is a bit slower. We loved the food which was great value and the team provided excellent service from start to finish. As I don’t live local (my dad does) it would have been useful to know about the parking charges but it’s a minor thing. I would definitely go back again.

Staff were fab, friendly and helpful. Pub clean and tidy. Unfortunately the food was terrible. Very bland. Worst mac and cheese I've ever had! Similar to tinned, thin flavourless sauce, tiny pasta, no taste of cheese whatsoever. Was definitely microwaved rather than grilled in an oven. Wasn't hot either. Peri peri chicken on top was gross, fair bit of fat on the chicken. Friends pie was soggy pastry and again very bland. Put me off ordering food from here again. Drinks, Staff and pub great though so not all bad.

i went to on the swan with some of my friends for a few drinks, the bar staff were so polite and friendly especially haylee and scott. we decided to order some food and we didn’t have to wait that long for it to arrive and it was amazing. 10/10 would recommend

Visited recently for a pub quiz, quizmaster Charlie smashed it. Lovely evening

We visited this restaurant as a pre-booked group of 14 colleagues, arriving at 1 pm on the day of our reservation, which had been made two days prior to ensure everything would be ready. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. Despite our advance booking, we encountered significant delays. Multiple inquiries to staff about the status of our food were met with vague responses and no clear updates. After waiting an hour and a half with no food in sight, and seeing other people be delivered their meals after we had arrived. I had no choice but to request a refund, which I now have to monitor as it has not yet been received. The lack of preparation and service for a pre-scheduled group was both disappointing and inconvenient. I hope that this review encourages improvements for future guests.

Food was a bit dry, chicken burger and hunters chicken. No bbq sauce with hunters, or mozzarella or cheddar. Immi, Ellie, and Kieran are running the place and rushed off their feet and doing a great job, as it has been quite busy. They deserve a commendation. We won't be rushing back

Me and my partner recently had the pleasure of visiting the Swan Inn, not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly suprised at the entire atmosphere of the pub. Servers were very friendly and even when i had a minor issue, this was dealt with swiftly and professionally by Michael! Would definitely recommend the Scampi and Chips and the Sherry Trifle Cheesecake was delicious! I'm definitely coming back
