Subway Botchergate in Carlisle

Been in this store a few times now and never actually left with anything, they never have any of the items on the menu they don’t take cash, they’re never open in the morning so a breakfast sub is off the cards, no drinks last time I was In only the one type of bread, the manager of this store is a terrible business owner and I guess subway doesn’t actually know how this store is ran, I’ve been to a lot of subways and this is definitely one I would never return to its pretty much put me off getting a subway from anywhere again

Compared to other Subway outlets this one gets 5 stars, service excellent, very clean. Subway meal superb. Franchise owner very polite and friendly made me feel welcome.

One of the best Subway outlets I have visited on a regular basis, very modern , clean and very good service from the manager. Coffee price is a bargain compared to Costa and the train station Other reviews are clearly fake and have some thing against the franchise owner as I have never experienced the issues mentioned in previous reviews.

Poor service No staff No drinks Old rolls Old salad Not able to add points after sale. Commented to head office who seem to pass the buck. You receive a uncaring and unhelpful reply. Other stores are always good and can get it right.

Poor service hardly any salad, poor choice of breads very rude staff !!! Will not use this one again

Carlisle Sunday I came in for a sandwich at 2 o’clock and the man wouldn’t serve me because he had online orders because he was on his own…. The opening hours said the shop was open opposite spoons in carlisle and he refused to serve me, I went back in at 6pm and asked why he didn’t serve me and he shouted at me… this is 18th of December and he was nothing but rude!! All I wanted was a sandwich and he said no chance!! I love subway and he wouldn’t tell me how name I have a photo of him if you need to contact me… unless I am spoken to i eill not enter a subway again Regards Alex

First thing I noticed was the smell as I walked in. The entire place smelled like dirty mop water. Manager was extremely rude & condescending while taking my order. The bread I asked for they didn’t have & there were no cookies made. Surfaces were dirty. I gave up & walked out. Avoid this place like the plague.

It's a Subway so you know what you are getting. Excellent service from the gentleman ( I assume the manager). Sandwiches were delicious Very clean modern looking store(other stores are getting dated) I certainly didn't have the experience of previous reviewers and would visit again. I recommend this Subway outlet.

I visited this store on a break from work as handy being across from the station. I ordered a salad and latte and wished to pay for these using my subway points. The server made up my salad, whilst also trying to keep up with online orders coming through, and went to prepare my drink. Any other store they press a button and hey presto a lovely hot drink. No not here. He got the coffee out of a teabag like packaging and connected the cold milk to the machine. This resulted in a lukewarm drink being received. As I wanted to pay using my points he said it may take a moment as he had to connect the till up to a router. He couldn’t reach this from the top shelf in the kitchen so to my disbelief he stood on the worktop surface to retrieve it!! Whether this is where food is prepared or not is not the issue it is totally unacceptable and unhygienic. Myself and others in the queue couldn’t believe what we were seeing. He connected it up and after a while it still wouldn’t load so as I had to be back at work I decided to pay using my card. What a farce, other stores you just scan your subcard and it’s paid for. I duly complained and received a reply from the franchisee saying Thankyou for my feedback and they did things in a new and exciting way at that store (presumably referring to the coffee) but absolutely no apology or reference to the bad hygiene or standing on worktop. I complained that I hadn’t received a satisfactory reply and got another email again completely omitting reference to this. I give up but won’t be visiting this store again. Totally disgusting

Ordered a Sub while waiting for a train from the station. Asked for what I normally have while travelling around the country which is Italian with Bacon and Cheese all cold (TBH most subways get that last bit wrong) then I have Lettuce Tomato and Lots of Cucumber, and that’s about 3-4 servings of it. This franchise offered 6 measly pieces, the person behind the desk seemed to have this infliction of wearing his mask below his nose... I wish I had left it all prepared and walked out because he really did not deserve the business Why is it that different franchises can have different rules, surely the presentation of food and quantities should be a global standard! Avoid this one like Halal stores if you’re a Bacon Lover!

Where out of a number of different items, and to my mind felt he was not that interested in serving us. Also quite shocked that he did not want any contact details even though we where eating in, every where else we have eaten had us fill in a form or scan a QR code. When I asked about leaving details I was told there was no need for us to do that.

What a terrible service I hated it no hearty Italian and sweet corn and didn’t say please very bad service worst subway I’ve ever been to

Staff standing about with their hands down their pants absolutely vile will never be visiting here not if that’s the sort of cretins they have serving their food!!!!

Went into subway today around 1.30pm and there was only one guy at counter and they where empty on choice of sandwhich fillings and hardly and cookies or doughnuts, very poorly run.

Went in and there was only one member of staff behind the counter.Most of the salad options hadn’t been taken out of the storage fridges so you couldn’t tell what your options were.The bread was stale and they ran out of sauce on the first 6 inch sub; they asked if that was ok and I replied that it wasn’t as we’d want the same sauce on the second sub. It then seemed a huge effort for the manager to go an find some more sauce.The young lass behind the counter tried her best but she didn’t seem supported by the manger who was just sat on his phone the whole time.

Good prices, range of different breads, fillings and salad items. Tea was hot and cheap. Staff friendly and helpful especially with answering questions about ingredients in food due to dietary issues with health conditions.

Amazing!! the two young ladys in there today were full of smiles and very friendly sandwich was excellent will be going back again thats for sure!!

We popped into subway at about 6pm as we were staying down the road at the ibis. We thought it was shut at first. There was only one person working and there was hardly any bread. The fridge was empty and no cookies were made. This poor man had just started his shift and nothing was prepared or refilled for him I felt so sorry for him. He was friendly and as helpful as he could be in his position. I was appalled this subway is on a main st and was open until 10. So drunk people no bread and only one person working is a recipe for disaster. Sort it out subway.

While waiting for my train, thought I would get a breakfast subway. I asked for a hearty italian bread, and was informed that there wasn't any.We went for a meal deal and it was £3, but it was £2 everywhere else. The guy behind the counter didn't seem interested in serving us. I had to ask for cheese rather than him asking us for cheese if we wanted it. Can do much better, but the food was fine

...which I would probably have caught if I had stayed longer. Sandwich and coffee were both below par for a Subway, but worse still was the lack of cleanliness and unwelcoming staff. Crap Subway, simple.

Horrendous, never will I step foot in here again, after calling in for a mega melt on the way home after worki got home ate less than half and was ill for 2 days, should of known better than to eat a ready made egg tbh

My husband tried their new Beef Burned Bits sub and thought it was very tasty, and I had a Chicken and Bacon Melt - both meals were lovely.

Esta fue la peor taza de café que he intentado beber. £1. 50 para un tibio, vulgares capachino, tendría que haber sospecha de que iba a ser horrible, debido a los problemas de los miembros del personal de metro tenía haciendo. Era imbebible, si no me va a tomar un tren habría vuelto y pidió un reembolso. Nunca más me voy a visitar un metro justo antes de la hora de cierre. . . . . De hecho no he tomar un café del metro de nuevo.

was ok but nothing special just the same as any other chain fast food place you get what it says on the packet no individuality to it just same it was ok

Estuvimos aquí en un viaje en autocar y paramos en el metro en Castle Street. Compartimos un 6" sub con bebida - recargables si comer adentro - y elegimos nuestro abundante. Incluso en mitad, fue suficiente para nosotros y deliciosa. Una oferta de £3.

Metro es increíble. No sólo la comida, pero la gente también! Puedo conseguir el subcomité quiero la manera de que quieres. Epic

Walking around Carlisle we decided to try Subway. Well this was the wee mans 1st one & he loved it so much so he wants the larger one next time.
