Popped in for the blackboard deal of bacon or sausage sandwich and coffee or tea for £4. I opted to add a sausage for £1. Mocha coffee was beauts however when the sandwich arrived it wasn’t what I expected I found a small thread of something with a black thing attached hanging down from the bread. Looked vile, I tried to get the attention of the server but she was busy on her phone. When she did come over I pointed out the problem and asked for the remaining half of the sandwich to be switched to brown bread. I did hear the chef laughing in the kitchen hoping it wasn’t about my returned food. Alas it came back just as I had sent it, untouched. I told the young lady that I asked for brown bread but she said sorry we don’t have brown bread only sour dough! I took off the crusts and ate the rest because the edges of the bread had some sort of black bits stuck to it. I guess you get what you pay for, nonetheless a sincere apology wouldn’t go a miss. Place was very cold inside and on a cold day it’s unacceptable. Won’t be returning...

On a cold day popped in for first time to Steam. Ordered flat white and a ham and cheese croissant. First thing I noticed how cold it was inside, two temporary heaters were deployed, one wasn't working and one was not up to the job, it was freezing. Only one couple were in, but they soon left. Coffee was good but croissant was the smallest I've seen and frankly cold, the cheese was melted but it must have been left on the side. For £4.60 each this was Very disappointing. Unfortunately will not be returning.

I visited today to try a homemade cake as I had seen them advertised and they looked sooo good! I was not disappointed, there was a great selection of slightly unique cake choices that were all very indulgent and appealing! I eventually chose the lotus biscoff bar and it was delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe is very open and light making it a great place to spend some time and it’s great for people watching too.

I went to steam and me and my friend co incidentally had the exact same. We both had a mocha which did take time for it to be served but was hot and tasted really good. For breakfast we had the hangover and it was delicious. The touch of cheess on top made it even more so but when I'm home I will certainly be having more of it, one of he quality meals I will miss. I visited Steam with a friend I hadnt seen for a while from uni, on the off chance i was trying all the independents in worcester. I recieved a friendly greeting from the person on the till and I proceeded to enjoy a well made, hot hot chocolate and waffles with fruit. I ordered without the maple syrup which was a mistake as I'd have enjoyed it more but honestly they are the best waffles that I've enjoyed in Worcester. Splendid service and good food and drink with a beautiful interior. Will be visiting again, and again, and again.

Popped in to this small cafe on a visit to Worcester recently. It commands a good position with some seats outside looking out onto the Cornmarket. Staff were friendly enough and it was clean and tidy. We each ordered a bacon brioche at £4 and whilst it was enjoyable enough, there was only one piece of bacon, albeit a thick piece of smoked back bacon and personally I would have been happy to play an extra 50p to have two pieces which I think would have made it more of a meal as I left feeling a touch cheated. My wife had a coffee which she said was pleasant enough and I had a hot chocolate which was very nice. We would certainly revisit, but I’d want two piece of bacon in my roll 😉

The service on ordering was ok,however a few manners would not have gone a miss. We both had a coffee to go with our breakfast. The sausage bap, well if you call it a sausage bap. The sausage was square and not your normal sausage, no taste at all. The second breakfast was eggs Benedict. Two eggs om one slice of toast. We waited 10minutes for the coffee to arrive amd the breakfast came 10minutes after. When the eggs Benedict arrived we were told that they had put two slices on by mistake but we could have the extra one for free. I have to say that Wetherspoons do s far better eggs Benedict. Also I'm glad that my coffee and bap went through on a deal because i would of been utterly disappointed. Hence to say i will not be going back again.

Visited Steam three times now and I can't fault it.Best coffee in Worcester in my humble opinion! I'm vegan and on each visit I have tried a different vegan option, all are very good but the Vegan Goddess is amazing. Plenty of plant based milks to choose from too. The staff are really friendly and it has got a real "family" atmosphere.....exactly how an independent cafe should be. The surroundings are clean and comfortable and the music choice is top notch too! Ideally situated to watch the world go by and people watch. I can highly recommend this little gem.....will be back soon :)

Called in for a bite to eat and a couple of hot drinks. Nice atmosphere, great friendly service. I opted for 'The Hangover' a brioche bun with bacon, sausage patty, scrambled egg and hash brown. It was very nice but not really worth the £7.50. Lovely cup of hot chocolate though. 2 snacks and 2 hot drinks came to over £20 which I though was a bit steep.

I popped in to this cafe, cause I heard it was rebranded. It used to be called The Market Cafe and now it's called Steam. New jazzy name and very much refreshed atmosphere, with GORGEOUS coffee (and I am a true coffee freak) and HEAVENLY scrambled eggs and bacon on toast. This is what I call a true breakfast of champions. Not only great food but also very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere! 10 out of 10 for me and I wish I have the same proper experience everywhere I go to eat out.

I'm a hardcore coffee nut. I keep away from the main coffee chains preferring excellent independent coffee chains on offer in London & now we thankfully have one that i can truly enjoy in Worcester. The Coffee beans are roasted locally from the excellent Quarter Horse & are definitely among the best that i've had.

food was quite nice, and the coffee was nice, but only get a thimble full, so I asked for a free refill, the waiter just sort of laughed and said no you dont get that. for £2.30 a cup it needs to be either a bigger cup or free refills, very poor value for money

The refurbishment is let down by poor staff who are clearly working there just for the money and not for a career choice. They rush you to tell them what your order was. They take ages to give you your food and drinks. It wasn’t busy so they should have had the urgency to do things quickly. The food and drinks arrived in good time. The sausage sandwich and the poached egg with avocado looked dry. What’s the harm in giving a pot of butter on the plate or asking if the customer would like butter or not. They advertised locally sourced bread. It tasted like a cheap sliced loaf.

The restaurant was clean, tidy and inviting. The staff don’t seem bothered about providing good customer service. The server behind the counter didn’t understand what I was saying and had to show the server the menu to point out what we wanted to order. Then they told us there was no muffins. What they also failed to say was there was no dill yoghurt to go with the smoked salmon bagel. I was told after I’d had been given the food they had ran out.

The menu looked promising, food turned out to be okay. For some reason they seemed to miss some bits of the food out so we had to ask for them. If you are going to list food items on the menu they need to be on the plate or substituted with an apology. Would I visit again ? - the answer is no.

I have been coming here for 5 years and can honestly say it is the best place to grab a coffee and something light to eat in Worcester. It is incredibly family-friendly and the menu has something for everyone from children's beans on toast to substantial toasties perfect for Lunch. There is also an impressive choice of drinks on offer. The homemade cakes and bakes always look delicious, it would be rude not to have one (even at 9 am after breakfast). The service is always fantastic and friendly and it feels like you're going to a friend's house to enjoy some good food and relax. The play area is great for smaller children with a nice selection of books and games to keep them busy. It's very reasonably priced and I believe one of the best value independent places in Worcester.
