Stavros in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Waited ages to take an order and waited an hour for our food in a half empty restaurant. Started taking our order then left to take another order halfway through. However food was really good.

we loved this little place, the food was very good and portion sizes were massive. Friendly service, we found this place towards the end of our holiday, so i only went once. loved it. Recommended.

We chose this restaurant thinking that we are going to enjoy a delicious GREEK meal. I don’t know what happened meanwhile but it’s not Greek anymore! It’s Turkish. The food was average. Lots of extra costs (e.g. sauces that should automatically come with the grill you have to order them separately). The service not so good I am afraid.

The food was absolutely amazing. One of the best take always we have had in ages. Everything was freshly cooked, can not say one bad word about the food at all. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Mediocre food, basic service, tasteless food and high prices…. Definitely the lower end of what you would expect from a Greek bistro. Rather disappointing.

My kids love this place as do my hubby and I. Food is great and it is a nice small restaurant. Would highly recommend a visit.

We had a great time at this small, family-run establishment where we were made to feel very welcome. The meze consists of about 20 small courses and if you're unused to Greek Cypriot food, it's a good option. It was all delicious and we would definitely visit again.

Love this place! Been a handful of times now and struggle to see how it can receive any negative reviews. It isn't huge inside by an means, however every Greek or Cyprian restaurant i've been too is usually well packed in! Food portions are always more than enough (and i can eat!)!Sell good bottled beers too. Always fantastic value for money and will continue to support them!

We had a very poor meal here on a Monday night with hardly anyone in here but service still not good. Had grilled Halloumi to start, but it certainly was not grilled, It was all soft and brown. My wife's souvlaki poor, not cooked on a skewer as stated, probably just oven cooked.Moussaka was ok but nothing like we have had in Cyprus or Greece. Food was very expensive as was the wine. Would never go here again.

Fabulous food..We had the lamb, delicious, melt in the mouth and filling. At first it wasn't to promising as the owner(maybe not sure) informed us his waiteress had failed to show up, so he had to wait cook etc It was ok cos a that point there were just 3 customers but after placing our order more customers came in. Oops you might think but no the guy did us proud. Another guy came to wait on the tables etc and even more customers came in but by then things were just normal. Not too long a wait for the main courses and as previously said it was wonderful.

authentic Greek food loving prepared and service warm and on the ball. ideal for families, couples or on your one, customers speak to each other and join in the Greek family atmosphere.

After trying to find a place to eat for over an hour we stumbled into this place. Very disorganized staff and food was ok. Once was enough.

Good looking shop in the perfect location, But the food that got served here never got ate.#

Waited nearly two hours for our main course to arrive. When it finally did, it wasn't what we ordered. We asked the owner for a discount and his response was "F**k off". Causing a massive scene in the middle of the restaurant floor in front of all of his customers. Many other tables got up and walked out as they were waiting much to long for their orders. Most unpleasant restaurant I have ever been and would encourage others to stay away

We were a bit unsure as there was no one else in the restaurant. The waiter helped us with our choices and food was plentiful and very good

What lovely people that work at Stavros take away. There were very friendly and helpful. We had pizza one night and chicken and chips another. Both meals were good. We would recommend Stavros.

We went into this restaurant by chance whilst on an overnight stay in Newquay. What a treat.

We decided to give Stavros a try, more based on convenience to where we were staying than anything. However we were able to get a table at 1930 on a Saturday in summer which can raise a question, though Newquay is a seaside town with a transient customer base. We needn't have worried and enjoyed a pretty good meal from an extensive but standard Greek menu. The service was friendly though a bit understaffed and haphazard.

Having recently returned from Greece to experience this Cypriot cooking was superb in every way!! Staff were friendly and efficient. On a good evening (no rain) the view over the beach enhanced the ambiance. Highly Recommended. I'd eat there again, and again.

I came to this restaurant last week with my husband on our trip to Newquay; I've decided to make a profile to review and share our experience.

We went here as we love Greek food, the waitress was so miserable it was almost an inconvenience to find us a table, isn't that her job ! The food was just ok, the portion sizes were not what I expect from a Greek they were very small and we had to go elsewhere for food afterwards. The salad was inedible as it was absolutely swimming in olive oil. Would I return, no, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

Stay away from this place, no fresh fish although the menu says otherwise, poor service, tasteless food, definitely not what you would expect from a Greek tavern. Extremely disappointing.

Tables are a bit tight together so if you're looking for somewhere cosy and romantic, this is not for you. Food tasted delicious although the portion of meat my fella had was disappointing and they had run out of his first two beer choices so he didn't rate it much. My dinner was delicious so I'd go back.

Je ne suis pas un spécialiste de la cuisine grec. Nous avons choisi de découvrir cette cuisine par une formule de plusieurs petits plats. Certes copieux, certain étaient bon, d'autre décevant.

I went to Newquay cornwall for a long weekend we were staying in a caravan and with two young babies so ordered takeaway for 5 adults . 3 chose chicken and 2 chose kofte with starters of houmus, taramosalata etc. whilst the salads were very large., the kofte was so hot ie spicy that it tasted disgusting and couldnt be eaten by either myself or my niece. those that had chicken offered us some and tasted ours and they couldnt eat it either.It was hotter than anything I ever eaten in an Indian restaurant neither mind greek.

My family and I ordered food from here during our stay in Newquay, prompt service and excellent, delicious food. Definitely worth a visit.

Our second visit. The meze meal was our goal and was as good as we had remembered it.Service was friendly and the dishes were served without haste, we needed time to savour each one. A great evening.

We all went here at new tear to bring back memories of Cyprus wow fantastic food service and value definately worth a visit really superb meal

We were visiting Newquay for the weekend and noticed this place not far from our hotel.

Lovely to eat real Greek food with the Greek music playing reminding me of holidays. I had the same meal two evenings in a row.

Popped into Stavros for a first time try of Greek cuisine. Definitely not disappointed, warm and friendly welcome,great service and friendly staff...oh and by the way the food was delicious well worth a visit...

We went to this restaurant after we couldn't decide what to eat. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, great service too. Highly recommended for couples or families.

Not a great place for a friendly atmosphere , myself and my family dined here and found the staff to be rude my mum asked for milk to go in her tea and there was some funny looks and foreign words exchanged before the milk landed on the table they food was fine just over priced wouldn't return as we felt uncomfortable

Really great food for a reasonable price :-) Great atmosphere and friendly service. Well worth a visit.

If a Greek takes your fancy try this , friendly and efficient staff , good food, nice atmosphere, would recommend booking as it gets busy.

Die Küche war ok aber nichts Besonderes. Die typischen Gewürze beim Griechen sind in den Speisen zu kurz gekommen.

Een gezellig maar wat krap restaurant. Met een vlotte bediening. Het eten was lekker en de service goed.

We ate at this restaurant on 5 occasions in the 2 weeks we stayed in Newquay. Very impressed with everything they offered. Will eat here again as soon as we can. (May/June 2016 for sure)

we have been to the Greek islands and were expecting a meal a little less Anglasized. The Waitress was from eastern europe and spoke no greek, so could not translate anything on the menu.

Came in today after searching high and low for a restaurant in newquay(nearly all shutdown.)
