Visited here on a wet & windy December day, after our original choice turned out to be closed. A blessing in disguise, you could say. With no one else present, we did have initial reservations, but these soon disappeared with the friendly staff welcome. Food was fresh and tasty, even accommodating our off menu requests. Then there was the coffee, forget your “hearts” on the top, they do bunnies 🐰

Visited with my Son, 30 October, we had bagels and coffee in addition we also bought items from the bakery. The staff were exceedingly polite, attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely gorgeous, as were the coffees, in my opinion there are two kinds of kosher bakeries in the Manchester area, State Fayre and the others! I cannot speak highly enough and absolutely recommend, thank you State Fayre.

I went in for a bagel deal which I had seen on Uber eats and had driven out of my way to get there. The girl behind the counter was very abrupt and just said no deals on bagels. I questioned this as the advert was still on and I had driven there specially for it. Again, abruptly no deals on bagels. What was a £9.99 deal I ended up paying £24 for as there was a queue and I felt very embarrassed by the way I was treated. When I got home, the bagels I had purchased turned out to be stale and have ended up in the bin. Safe to say, this is the last visit I will ever make to this establishment. Rude staff behind the till and stale food!!

The staff in the Whitefield branch are fantastic and go above and beyond. Unfortunately have stopped shopping here as it is actually cheaper for me to to drive to Prestwich and purchase from other kosher bakeries. Save over £5 on a Friday just buying what I normally get but not from State Fayre. Also somebody mentioned before about weights, etc I also found the weight advertised on the label was falling short of the weight of the product itself in one case it was about 30 % short of the advertised weight. Much preferred State Fayre under the previous owners. These owners seem to put profit before anything else (which I guess is most companies!)

This place has gone downhill and the price increases…..we all know currently what inflation is like but these guys have hiked up prices by at least 25%, 6 bagels, the smallest salmon and some cream cheese was over £16 today. And, please whatever you are mixing your cream cheese with to make it go further please stop, it’s so grainy and almost unrecognisable as cream cheese! Such a shame as quality uses to be paramount, seems pricing is more important to them these days.

We turned up at 11am on the 30th December Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Greatest ground coffee latte I have had for years - served piping hot and my colleagues cappuccino was likewise perfect. Cheese sandwiches, pasties and rolls were sublime. Fabulous scones. We took some jam tarts for my children which were heavenly Pricewise it a joke as we came out with change of a tenner a head Hope to return next time I am in the area. I am for once jealous of the Mancunians

Absolutely shocked at the staff at this place . It’s gone so downhill over the years . Witnessed open racism towards pakistanis today . The 3 rude girls at the back of the till laughing at a name that sounded Pakistani like it was from Pakistan! No wonder the shop hardly attracts customers. I’m glad other people on here agree to how rude and arrogant the staff was !

Beware of the new £6.00 deal, supposed to be 50g of salmon when I got home I couldn’t even make one bagel with it, I weighed it and it was 29g , what a rip off

Staff and lovely and so accommodating. I come here for my bagels each week and they’re always fresh served with a smile from the great hardworking staff. Food is always fresh at reasonable prices for kosher food. I enjoy coming here with my daughter to sit in their coffee shop where they make great cups of coffee.

Use to love this place till they hired an arrogant boy who works there often (other staff not great either). Quality of products gone down hill especially the rock solid creme cheese :( Not returning again as found a better option that's also local. They don't seem to care about their customers and ignore bad comments

The review is mainly about the store not the staff. Lovely staff, especially in the Whitefield branch. All the salads have short dates on them (I know this is a sign of freshness) but if you are buying a salad (i.e. tuna, egg, etc) you want it to last more than one day. Pre-Passover (the 4 to 5 days before) the stores were shut which meant I had to travel to get my kosher bread which is a shame when there is a kosher bakery on my doorstep. Because of this my family have now discovered better baking (and cheaper) from other kosher bakeries.

I have been a customer of the Middleton Road shop for over 30 years. Since the new owners took over it has been very disorganised. My weekly order is regularly wrong. I queued for 20 minutes outside today and the sign on the door clearly states 3 customers in the shop. When I went in one of the staff was making up orders with no mask and no gloves!!!!! I asked her why do I have to wear a mask and you aren't? Her rude abrupt answer was that you can't catch if off food. Does she not realise that there is a pandemic and yes you can catch if off anything!!!!!!!!!!! I'm interested to see if the owner replies but suspect he won't

The Middleton Rd shop used to be a lovely shop..been going there for over 25 years for my bread and especially my challah for festivals and the sabbath. Imagine my surprise to see a HUGE 10% increase on challah last week. The breads are NOT as tasty as they once were and are NOT as big as they once were and yet we end up having to pay an extra 20p for a bread from now on. Think it's time to find a different shop to go to. TEN PERCENT...wow. As the title suggests..price gouging and at this time with the virus hitting people really hard in the pocket.

It’s absolutely disgusting that the bread is left out, staffs hair isn’t tied up and touching the bread. The shop smells and the food is out of date. When I asked for a manager they don’t have one, or a supervisor. My visit wasn’t today it was last month. When I went in there were kids running about touching the bread. If I were you I wouldn’t buy the stuff!! Morrisons is better, and better priced, and CLEAN! I used to come here with my sister when Robert was the owner. Those were the best days. What happened, why is is so run down. Also it’s like the girls who work there are stuck to their phones.

I went to State Fayre with my daughter after the successful and pleasant visit we had last time. We were served by a special young man called Jack who was simply delightful! You could say that we were not the most easy customers to weight on but we were truly treated like royalty during a visit for a spot of lunch. I could not thank this young man more for his excellent service who ensured that we had a fantastic lunch. In a word he was FABULOUS. All the staff there deserve every penny that they earn. I will return again for another fantastic visit in the future I hope! 5 star service!

Don’t know why I’ve never put a review in of State Fayre Bakery before - I suppose you just get used to something being so good you forget to share the joy and encourage others to dip their toe and share the joy! State Fayre is just fantastic - every time you go. Now given it’s a hour hour drive for me to get there if is more of a monthly treat when the mood takes - but every time you go you think It’s should do this more often. The main reason to go for us are the bagels - absolute bread heaven and we can’t get enough of them. But there’s more to it than the bagels - the range of delicious breads leaves you spoilt for choice - and then you’ve the sweet delights to tempt you as you queue to be served - the almond slices and the maids of honour are to die for but the Florentines well I’ve never had a better specimen than these gooey chocolate based beauties anywhere else. The deli offering looks very inviting but cannot really comment as we can’t get past the bagels, breads or cakes - this friendly and busy bakers is more re than worth any journey so don’t miss out - I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Unusual to find a deep suburban delicatessen off the beaten track serving traditional afternoon tea (no ham sandwiches though - it's a Kosher deli!). Heaps of food and plenty of tea, including a free hot water teapot refill. They also sell baked goods and food accompaniments such as dill pickles and relishes. Sunday is bagel special morning, where for a mere £5 you get 7 traditional bagels, a couple of mini tubs of assorted cheese spreads and some smoked salmon to take away - ace!

I wanted birthday cake for Sunday 21st January so I ordered it from State Fayre and they were to deliver it to the Pagoda on the day. Well the birthday day girl wasn't well and cancelled the meal. Yehuda took the cake home and put it in his freezer. Later his sister-in-law collected the cake and took it to the birthday girl to put in her freezer. Today we went to the Pagoda and were finally able to see and taste the cake. It was in perfect condition and very tasty. So thank you Yehuda for trouble you went to and for making such a beautiful, delicious cake.

From the shop I ordered a number of products to take back to Plymouth, Devon from Whitefield Greater Manchester. The service was excellent and the choice of products difficult to resist, but it was very busy and the atmosphere was all bustle and haste. It did save me money as there wasn't time for me to consider buying anything other than what I had pre-ordered. I felt an obvious outsider, when I would have welcomed a warmer reception. Perhaps it was because I probably wouldn't be a there regularly. In my opinion a smile would have made all the difference.

The first time I came to this coffee shop it was like being transported to a different world. The ambience the staff the decor it was a proper escape from reality. From the moment I walked in the friendly greeting I got put me at ease immediately as I was showed to a table. The place was buzzing with host of different people from all backgrounds and ethnicities each chatting and eating getting on with there daily routines. The menu was a delight as it offered a wide array of different delights from filled rolls to jackets to tasty treats. I ordered a soup and sandwich deal ( very reasonably priced). The way it was presented in a porcelain bowl with matching spoon and a sandwich on fresh rye bread (I was given so many options of bread and rolls to have it on) was to die for. I can honestly say this place is a real gem in the heart of whitefield. On every visit thereafter I have been equally impressed with the staff the food and the quality. Even after having my belly full it was great to miander around the shop ( I would call it a farm shop) with food from all different parts of the world and some things I have never experienced. The whole place is amazing a must try.

My wife and I popped in for a light lunch. Ordered a cheese panini and tuna melt , when they eventually came they were basic in presentation, a little salad on the side would have looked more appealing . My main complaint is the place is a mess ,the floor was dirty with crumbs and goodness knows what else, the food prep area was a mess , the waitress was either on her phone or eating her lunch out of a plastic container in full view of customers, very unprofessional. The toilet was situated at the side of a store cupboard which looked as though boxes and whatever else had just been thrown in there. The toilet itself was disgusting ,the seat was loose and water was leaking from the waste pipe at the back. When I came to wash my hands in the broom cupboard I could not find any towels or a dryer and had to ask for a towel whereupon the waitress tore some paper off the role in the kitchen area and handed it to me. I don’t believe that hygiene is their paramount concern.

I visited Krave on Friday 27th September and ordered scrambled egg on toast. I was charged £5.90 for 1 piece of toast and a tiny bit of scrambled egg which didn’t even fill the piece of toast - yes 1 piece of toast. Absolutely shocking. £5.90 for that - talk about having your pants pulled down. Have occasionally visited this place over the years but won’t be returning @ them prices and portions. Disgusting - Robbery.
