Starbucks - St George's Street in Canterbury

My fav part is when they didn't take my name, and then gave me the wrong order. It was a really nice end to my long busy day.

Good coffee , clean and great service , plenty of seats and staff very attentive, will go again for sure .

I can quite honestly say was served by probably the most polite young man I ever come across today , what a breath of fresh air he is and an asset to the Starbucks chain so has to be a special mention to Archie , great work .

Disgusting 1 strip bacon roll, uncooked, super expensive, plain on stale bread. Shame on SB for treating customers like that. Their food is cheap, pre made rushed, fake ingredients, oil is terrible, no care for health, sausages are 1 week old, you can tell they make chap expensive food for people who are in a rush and have no time to complain. Stay away from bacon roll and all meat. flies on their counter and nothing tastes as it should.

So dirty and disgusting I couldn’t drink my coffee fast enough to get out of there. Food on floor and tables dirty. Crumbs in bench seating on wall. Bathroom not great either. Two staff, not busy, never saw them clean anything. Just stood there chatting. No artificial sweetener,only white or brown. Coffee stirrers in dirty bucket looked used. Over £3 for a small coffee.

Service rubbish but worst were the toilets… completely filthy, urine all over the floors, dirt everywhere, sink didn’t look as though been cleaned for months. How can this be acceptable in a place where you eat and drink?

Rube abrupt staff member dark hair and glasses serious attitude problem and zero customer service skills. Not the first time I’ve experienced rude staff members in this store. Quiet happy to have a conversation between them selves and ignore paying customers. Shall avoid in future….

I was really impressed! I was able to have a vegan drink, with vegan cream on top! My partner was able to get a coffee he had in a Starbucks in the US. The staff were so friendly and efficient.

The most disgusting coffe shop I've ever been in dirty chairs upholstery etc certainly won't step inside again.

Slowest Starbucks I’ve been to in ages and I currently live in Paris. Messy tables. A barista came upstairs (where they have a huge seating room) and cleared everyone out so she could clean it before they close- she cleared it out TWO AND A HALF HOURS before they close and crammed everyone in the smaller space downstairs which had tables covered in cups (hadn’t bothered to clean that part yet). Honestly I rarely write negative reviews but I worked for the company for four years in Seattle and this is a disgrace.

This place was disgusting, the toilets were filthy and the table surface not much better! This is a franchise and to be honest the place is shameful to your brand! The environment health officer needs to visit here soon!

Appalling. Not even busy but took over 10 mins to get my drink. Poor guy working on the bar had a queue of 5+ drinks. Till girl too busy having a catch up with her supervisor (who should have been supporting other worker to ensure speed of service.) whilst waiting for my drink, two orders were made wrong, which delayed everyone else’s drinks. Well done to the guy on the bar - perfect customer service skills. Girl on till who was ironically wearing a “partner of the month badge” needs some training and that badge removed. Not impressed, and filthy cafe floor.

We took the children here for a bit chocolate this evening. Now the coffee is always bad, I accept that, but the place was filthy, bloody sanitary towels next to the broken toilet. See photo. This is unacceptable! Clearly no one cares about this place, no money is spent, so please avoid at all costs. Nero and Costa are only minutes away, far cleaner and with better coffee too.

Where do I begin, from the dirty stained seats, to water on the stairs so I nearly slipped and fell; to the dirty foul smelling toilets, the curly beard hair nestled alongside the spilt coffee, filthy grime under the seats - hasn't been cleaned properly in months. I am so angry I am going to inform Environmental Health on Monday - this place needs to be closed down and a deep clean initiated - eat and drink here at your peril. When I complained to the Manager, all she could say in response robotic like was "...thank you for your feedback..." not good enough! This place is a joke and I really was scared to drink and definitely wouldn't eat here - eat and drink here at your peril - I have pictures to prove what I am saying as well.

Slow slow. Nice servers but lacking in energy tables left dirty. Not enough caramel need some joy in the atmosphere

I have given poor reviews when places deserve it but this branch, on every occasion that I've gone in there have been friendly, professional and deliver excellent customer service. Maybe i've been lucky? I love this branch because you can go upstairs which is huge and very comfortable with lovely chairs to sit in. I enjoy listening to the music and reading my paper a few times a week. I've worked in customer service for years myself and I know that people are quick to critcisize slow to praise. I alway make sure I thank businesses when they are consistent. It's not perfect but you have to realise that this is a very busy branch. I always get a warm gretting and a smile and that means a lot.

El servicio y el menú eran los mismos que en los EE. UU. No sé cómo se comparan los precios cuando usamos tarjetas de crédito mientras viajamos.

No comería aquí ni volvería a comprar café aquí, el personal era inútil y al pagar una prima por el café esperábamos que los baños estuvieran limpios. No podía creer la falta de higiene en un establecimiento de comida y el fuerte olor a orina en todos los inodoros. Inaceptable

Unbelievable disorganised. 7staff behind the counter and yet lots of customer awaiting for their orders! A single espresso took nearly 20 to be served.

We found that the service was no better and no worse than other Starbucks. We only wanted a drink, but it was still difficult to find an empty table. Unlike others, we did not find the staff rude. They were busy, but that was about all.

‘Popped’ in to grab a coffee. Only two costumers ahead of me, five staff, should’ve been quickly in and out. However, the staff were taking forever to do everything - only one person serving, three in the kitchen picking up two cups at a time and stacking them on the shelves, the last one ‘Olsen’ looking bored as anything and moving so slowly. Finally, ‘Owen’ stops moving the cups and serves me (with an absolutely stinking attitude). As I left I looked at the tables and floor - all filthy. Used and dirty cups left on tables.

Popped in just to have a quick break during shopping, blimey 2 bog-standard coffee's and a muffin seemed to take forever. My main gripe was the toilets, to my horror the ladies is now unisex, and the gents has remained the gents (because its full of urinals no doubt and the company are too tight to refurbish!) HOW RUDE!!!!!! Suprise, suprise, stank of acrid urine. I could'nt give a fig about peoples sexuality, what I know is woman sit to use the loo and men don't. It's disgusting to inflict that on us!

Staff are very rude and the coffee is generally CRAP in Starbucks!!!! Very rough and bitter.....had two now in different venues so not the particular establishment.

Visited today with a friend and firstly tje whol cafe was littered and tables not cleaned or even cleared once we ordered our drink that didnt take to long as the cue was fairly short we as down ar the only clear table we could find right by the open door in the cold. To find that both our drinks had no flavour i had a large hot cholcate and felt like id just drank warm milk with cream and my friend had the salted caramel hor choclate we mixed oir drinks a little extra but this did not help. So after not being able to get stafg attention we left as the time we wohld of cued up again our drinks would of been cold. I also brought a slice of the caramel shortbread which i normally enjoy with a hot chocolate but sadly even the shortbread lacked alot of flavour today :( very disappointed and feel we have waisted our money visiting today

Good spot to relax. The fare is standard Starbucks, the food items are revised slightly for British taste buds. All good, served with a smile. Coffee and Tea certainly needed for a break. Place is clean, with ample seating and tables upstairs.

Used to be a regular Starbucks customer when the one located near the cathedral was there. That one closed and possibly moved to the one on George's Street or just closed completely. Either way I have found that this Starbucks' decor is very messy and uninviting, the staff are friendly and the coffee is good but I just found that this Starbucks isn't as warm and welcoming.

I have avoided Starbucks since I came back to the UK; I had lived in an Asian country, where the mermaid was here, there and everywhere, and it had been my daily brew. Here, it seems, Starbucks comes with a lot of connotations, not all good, but I can still rely on a good Americano.

This place is always buzzing in the summer which, is always nice. I especially enjoy going upstairs.

It was a warm day but I still felt like a coffee. The perfect drink was the Toffee Frappacino. Just what you expect from Starbucks and my wife enjoys their Chai Latte and Tea too.

I’ve been going to this Starbucks since September. I always get the best attention. Today 24th of April. In the afternoon I went with my partner and the waitress thin worth short hair was really unrespectful.

Popped in for a coffee to break up the shopping...... Dire!......Filthy uncleared tables.... the whole ambience was one of hectic , unkempt shambles....... huge queue ( why? will we, the public ,accept anything?)...... staff slow and disorganised...... My wife was in the queue whilst I cleared a table ...... she returned empty handed deciding that we would not pay for overpriced coffee and food to be eaten in unsavoury surroundings and we left. Why boost StarBucks already bulging coffers we went to a small clean independent!

Last Wednesday I visited undrer duress. The seats were dirty, the tables were dirty. They got my order wrong and overcharged me for the privilege.

This place has gone down hill a lot, I normally enjoy the hot chocolates in there but the last one I had just tasted really watery which is bizarre as they are made with milk and lacked any flavour. At £2-3 a cup you expect a nice drink for your money but it is not consistent with other Starbucks unfortunately. With all the coffee shops through town I will take my custom elsewhere.

Had many daily visits for this well prepared coffee. Service was 100% by Rob who was very friendly and remembered our names after numerous visits. Best cake to eat with your coffee is the cinnamon swedish bun.....yumm.

Questo in particolare è molto accogliente, confortevole è privo di barriere architettoniche. L'ingresso è libero e il parcheggio a pagamento su strada è consentito nelle vicinanze. Consigliato.

Hadn't been to this branch before and wish I never did. The cappuccino didn't even taste like coffee, just warm water and milk, I'm really not sure what flavour it was probably old coffee leaves not fresh. Interior is quite bare, unfinished looking and miserable. Caffe Nero all is forgiven.

Where to start on a positive note, if there was one. It's just so robotic I feel for the staff as they work incrediblely hard in a busy environment but they must be under staffed. Tables were not cleaned, toilets more like a long drop basic cleanliness lacking every Where.

Sat outside on lovely sunny day yesterday 22nd July went ordered hot chocolate latte and americano all freshly made I ad no problem with service was fast and friendly even.tho incredibly busy. Clean tidy even at 1pm. Very impressed. . Chocolate brownie yum yum too

Okay we sat at the back of the coffee shop, which is starved of natural light, however there is quite a claustrophobic feel with its narrow layout anyway. We have been upstairs before, which is better in terms of space.

Always busy and full of customers... sadly it looks like few of the profits are invested back in to the fabric of the building... poor seating downstairs, worse upstairs.. one whole area has been closed for weeks now with chairs just piled up to one side.

There is very limited seating downstairs and with the door left open it was cold and drafty. The coffee was the usual good brew.

The only good thing about this establishment were the staff, who were polite and helpful. Unfortunately after paying £12 for 2 frappes and 2 cups of tea (the teas were weak and unpleasant) we had a look around for somewhere to sit, the seating was utterly filthy and stained. We went upstairs and it was even worse! The whole place was stained and in great need of modernisation.

Stopped for a coffee while visiting the Roman Museum.Sat outside on a warm day with the family. Nice staff and friendly, the young girl that made our drinks was fast and a very sweet young lady. Most the staff I saw working this day seemed young (Maybe students earning extra pennies) but worked well and fast a credit to the shop.

I was desperate for something to eat while briefly at a loose end in Canterbury, and bought a salmon and cream cheese seeded bagel. I said "It better be good at that price" as the man on the till charged me £3.50, but it wasn't - pappy, claggy and pretty tasteless. Some of the ingredients had probably been good but the whole assembly was soggy and wretched, and a struggle to eat. I'd have to be even more desperate to do it again.

It was really busy today as it would be near Christmas but they seem to have more staff on by taking orders and making the coffee so the wait was quite short which was great. There were plenty of tables upstairs and there seemed to be people cleaning them straight away when they became empty.

It's a basic Starbucks serving good coffee. That's it! Limited seating and always busy with queues during rush hour..

The actual location and inside of this quite large Starbucks are good. The only issue is that the size and its location mean you can get a lot of people in so be prepared to queue at busy times. There is also seating upstairs.

Staff behind the counter were lovely and friendly to my children. The lunch we had was very good and the frappecinos (excuse my spelling!) were made just how we asked. I really would like to have a Starbucks a bit more local as we have to travel 15 miles for it but the kids love it so it's worth it!

Rubbish coffee that tastes like pap.

Eigentlich alles perfekt. Es hat zwar etwas länger gedauert, als üblich, jedoch waren wir sowohl mit dem Service als auch mit den Produkten sehr zufrieden!

I had an awful experience today at this Canterbury Starbucks. I was buying coffee beans and asked for them to be ground for CONE filters (grounded finer than flat bottom filters)

I was always a Costa Coffee fan until I tried Starbucks in Canterbury. It's a chain cafe so you're not always going to be overwhelmed with its choice but the staff were great when I went there. They allowed me to write my own names on the cups and we had a laugh. This was great considering I only wanted a coffee. The cappuccino was surprisingly good and has been of a good standard ever since.

What more can you say, they're all much of a muchness. Staff were friendly, place was clean and tidy and drinks were the usual high standard.

Where we live there is no Starbucks so we go to this one when we have to visit Canterbury, I always have an iced coffee and the children have a drink called strawberries and cream they love it and I really enjoyed my drink.

Can't complain about my coffee as it was delicious (as always) but the pain au chocolate... I guess it was made from the day before 👎🏼

La tenue de ce Starbucks laisse franchement à désirer. J'ai voulu aller aux toilettes, quelle horreur ! C'était très sale, franchement degueu, j'ai fait demi tour ! Prenez un café et partez de ce Starbucks

Although the friendly staff makes a big effort to provide a fast service, it is not uncommon to queue in line for at least 20 minutes before you get what you have ordered. So be a little patient.

Popped in Starbucks several times this month. It's always busy, but always a pleasure. Friendly service, great coffee and usually manage to find a spot to sit very quickly. Thank you

Despite being part of a chain, My trip to Starbucks today was great. My girlfriend and I enjoyed some great Christmas themed hot drinks. The staff were friendly and polite. Although not an independent business, it had no negative effect on my experience. Only small issue is the coffee is fairly expensive. All in all, great morning coffee.

Adepte des starbucks lors de mes voyages à l'étranger, celui de Canterbury n'est pas à la hauteur de l'enseigne. L'endroit est plus que moyen, pas du tout envie de s'installer un instant pour se détendre mais plutot en take away. Les mugs à la vente sont situés dans un endroit retiré pas mis en évidence.... trés déçue

The coffee was great unfortunately there was only one barrister and so it took ages to get the coffee which took the shine of it slightly. They need more than one person making drinks.

As with most Starbucks, staff were very polite and professional. However having not been here for sometime as the Wifi upstairs is non existent on an iphone nothing had changed despite reporting the issue to head office over 6 months ago. Also no milk or condiments upstairs. Will not return, and will stick to Costa!

Nous souhaitions prendre un bon chocolat et un petit gâteau avant de reprendre la route mais quelle déception! Après avoir passé la commande il a fallu réclamer le chocolat chaud et la serveuse numéro 1 sur 3 n'a pas pris en compte notre commande de gâteaux. Le chocolat est d'excellente qualité mais le service laisse à désirer. Quel dommage! Serveuse incompétente et organisation à revoir. Trop de personnes s'occupent d'un même client, par conséquent les messages passent mal. Nous éviterons ce starbucks la prochaine fois.

This used to be my usual Starbucks until the Starbucks Kingsmead opened. I am local so I switched purely for the service.

I used to enjoy Starbucks when visiting Canterbury but not any more! The tables are often dirty and there is never wifi, they tell you to go upstairs sit near the back wall and you can pick up Barclays Bank! If Barclays can get it right why can't Starbucks!!! Its really important these days to have wifi but yet time and time again they don't have it!!

Standard starbucks, most of the time when we visit there are plenty of dirty tables. Coffee is same as it is a chain but maybe one day i'll venture in and not have to clear my own table

I have been to this Starbucks many times and the staff are really friendly. Serve great coffee. I regularly frequent Starbucks when I visit the USA. However the wifi here is appalling. There is barely wifi upstairs, and if you did get a connection it does drop out. On my last visit I played music chairs moving seats 4 times until there was a seat downstairs, where you can get a good connection. Problem is in Canterbury there is a very poor 3G network. I have fed the wifi problem back to Starbucks on several occasional, yet no one seems to be listening, even though they are aware of the issue. Sorry to say Starbucks next time I am in Canterbury I will be heading to Costa!

What you see is what you get. No different from any other Starbucks. Whether that's a good or bad thing is really whatever you make of it.

You can always count on getting the beverage you want at Starbucks & here was no exception. The staff are friendly too.
