Starbucks in Guildford

I ordered two 2 good to go bags for collection at 16:30. I checked at 16:30 and all showing as ready for collection at 16:30. Drove and parked to collect. At 16:30 arrived to be told bags were cancelled. No apologies from the staff and no offer to provide a bag anyway with in date merchandise.

A poor experience. Drinks not good, The place was cold and uncomfortable. Cleanliness was also a problem, particualty the toilet!

Horrible! After queuing for 15 mins, I ordered my drink and wanted to buy 2 travel cups, which came to £49.35. I handed over £50 note to a reaction of total rudeness, the server then asked his superior if he would take cash, she did No No we don’t have enough change, when I pointed out that my change would only be 65p she still said No. crazy, no apology just an awful experience.

Coffee was ok but the restaurant was filthy dust and rubbish from the previous day on the window ledges and the floor was very sticky the staff didn’t seem bothered by anything would never return here again there are much better places for coffee in Guildford than here.Environmental health needs to visit this place

Insanely slow, uncoordinated, too busy chatting!!! I was the only one waiting but that took 5 mins to even ask for my order Hardly busy in the shop. Sarah, gabby and Chloe, were too busy chatting and they look like they were running around like headless chickens, tbh not doing a whole lot. Lots of customers were complaining about wrong orders, to my surprise…not…I didn’t get what I asked for Disappointed none the less!!

I really enjoyed going here as there were plenty of seats available and overall a really nice atmosphere. The servers made me feel welcome and my drink was ready very quickly. Some tables did have some leftovers on them but only small things like a straw wrapper. The quality of the food was good and I personally enjoyed going there.

The customer service was terrible. Server more interested in his mobile than serving which lead to orders being wrong. When ordering food which was on display got told I can’t have it as it’s for another order then gave attitude when asked why it was on display. Worst Starbucks in Guildford area by far.

Oh Dear! Popped in for a takeaway coffee. The staff were like a group of completely inept grumpy teenagers who were woefully and painfully slow and very rude. Their workspace was chaotic, untidy and like a sixth form common room. They were all floundering and none of them appeared remotely happy or motivated to be there. Sunday mornings are always busy. There was only one till and the girl operating it was also serving food. There seemed plenty of staff but not one of them was focussed or even appearing to care. Don’t bother with this place. Head to Nero’s on North Street. They do it properly.

Bought 2 drinks yesterday 25th JAN. 2022. Server wrapped his hands round the top of the mugs whilst picking them up. .This person was training another colleague, so was obviously in charge.. This behaviour has totally put us off returning to this establishment. Staff member needs serious retraining.

The baristas at this Starbucks are friendly and welcoming. There’s a good amount of indoor seating and accessible toilets. The food on offer includes vegan and vegetarian diets as well as lots of festive toasties and bakes. When we visited all Christmas drinks were out of stock but it’s mid December! This Starbucks is located away from the busy Guildford high street, making it quieter than usual cafes. I really enjoyed visiting with a friend. Highly recommend.

I thought this store would improve after their long hiatus, but if anything they are worse than before. They are rarely open at the correct time (sometimes arrive hours after opening) they never have any vegan whipped cream, always promise it's in the order arriving tomorrow- having spoken to staff at WLW starbucks (who are a 5 star team and get it right every time) they have said that they DO have it but are too lazy to make it in the mornings, which of course makes sense if they don't bother showing up til 10am. Half the time my order is wrongly made with dairy milk and needs to be remade. The staff always seem to be very new and being trained by other staff who also have no clue.. why they arent being trained at better stores I will never understand! I wish my lunch break allowed for the time to walk down to the white lion walk store as they are far superior.

Disgusting iced coffee that was a slush puppy rather than a refreshing drink. Service is slow, sandwiches look like they’ve been sat there for days, I had a wrap that could have been fresher. Tables are close together and not very comfy if sitting in a larger group

Absolutely useless- order a drink and never provide a straw… how am I supposed to drink a Frappuccino without a straw? It’s not difficult to put a straw in a bag!!

Visited recently and found the coffe shop empty, no customers! Well we soon found out why. Three members of staff stood behind the counter talking and a fourth sat at one of the tables, we approached the counter and awaited patiently but no one even acknowledged our existence so we decided to go elsewhere and they didn't appear to notice or care about our departure. Good luck getting served here .

Friendly staff helped ease anxiety during current social distancing protocol. Very clean and excellent system has been put into place, making your visit safe and well managed. Lovely range of summer editions to the menu. Definitely will return to this store. Much improved.

What a lovely change! I used to visit this coffee shop quite a lot and they always ran out of stuff and the place looked dirty. It was a lovely surprise to see this place clean and full of stock! Will definitely keep coming back!

I came in to get a coffee with my friends for take away. Mattie and Freya were excellent and are an asset to the store! The manager, Sylvia was very chatty and made the experience even more enjoyable. With everything going on in the world it was so nice to be able to feel comfortable, welcome and happy! I will be returning as soon as I can to see these lovely lovely girls again and get another delicious drink (best coffee I have had in a long time!)

Orders took ages and all we had whilst waiting is staff arguing and staff making stupid remarks. One who shouted out ‘it f***ing stinks of week don’t it haha’Another customer had his order remade 3 times because staff were not listening to him. Awful experience and won’t be coming back here ever again.

Two members of staff behind counter, one customer ordering and no acknowledgement we were there. The customer in front appeared to be giving rather a large order but a quick nod and explanation would have made all the difference. Hence, we left and found a charming coffee shop further along the high street

Went for coffee late afternoon 5:00 pm ish and then looked for a table to sit at...all tables towards the front were empty but none had been cleared of cups and disposables. I counted 7 uncleared tables some dripping with wet serviettes and spilt coffee. It wasn’t busy and only two staff visible...plus one wandering aimlessly doing nothing. We had to clear a table to sit at it...won’t be going back. Either get more staff or train the existing ones to clear tables promptly!!!!

Unhappy, unhelpful staff. So unfortunate as we enjoy the Farnham Starbucks a lot! Coffee okay but not brilliant either.

If staff don’t want to work in there I suggest they leave. Cups were dirty with coffee dripping down the sides. Barely luke warm but I’d waited so long for it, and the queue was so long I couldn’t even be bothered to complain! No chocolate chips for my daughters drink (there’s an M&S an Sainsbury’s within a few mins). Food was coming out before the drinks were ready, total shambles!! Staff attitude was shocking. I will not be going back nor recommending!!

Ordered a coffee and asked for coconut milk which I was told was available. Not sure what I was given but it didn’t smell like coconut milk but instead smelled and tasted like curry. I did not want to drink it as I am not able to take chances with my allergies. The mug had a long dirty crack in it. My daughter had a hot chocolate which she described as ‘watery’ and tasteless. We left both drinks and won’t ever be returning here.

Agree with previous reviewer. Very dirty. 5 members of staff working and every empty table is covered in dirty stuff. During my half hour stay no one cleaned my sticky table with rubbish all over it... at 4pm and with the place half empty. Unimpressed & disappointed. Coffee fine.

Very dirty. Most tables needed cleaning, toilets awful. Service not much better had to ask for a plate for my cake.

The worst black coffee I have ever had. However, it was changed with good grace and fresh one was far better. Barista apology saying had to make a fresh batch.

On a freezing day there is nothing better than a large cappuccino and a Danish pastry, Starbucks coffee is superb.

My goto coffee shop nothing else comes close!!Clean shop from table service to take away, friendly staff and always chatty have a small issue with the payment app today and it's not showing a transaction but that's not going to stop me giving 5 stars...

I just popped in for a quick coffee and pain au chocolat. I was served quickly and efficiently by the young lady who was attentive and friendly.

I love going to this Starbucks, the staff are great and always friendly and please to see you, unlike other coffee places, where you're another annoying customer! Also because it is at the top of town and a little further than the high street, it always has food still in the fridge and never has a queue out the door! And they can spell my name (most people get it very wrong)

Terrible slow service and since when did the words 'small' and 'tall' mean the same things! (coffee sizes) Coffee was undrinkable, awful taste, do the machines ever get a good clean out?

Awful is only possible word to describe the decaf coffee, I suggested it was watery and weak and not sure what they did to improve it, it didn't work.I've watched half dozen people que and wait extraordinary amount of time to be served and a long time for hot food and drinks.Need to up their act as nothing would entice me back and the people waiting on their orders had same expression on their faces.

I find that Starbucks can be a bit hit and miss regarding quality. The coffee was expected but my cheese and marmite toast was barely warm and the cheese had not melted and my wifes fruit toast was barely toasted and therefore not toast at all ! It is all well and good handing it back and asking for it to be re done when it should be cooked correctly in the first place.

Afternoon coffee and a snack during Xmas shopping 2016. The floor was dirty - food debris not swept up is not attractive.Service was slow, and there was no proper gluten-free food. The Xmas White chocolate "special" tasted like lightly-sugared milk, though the barrista insisted he had made it to recipe. The single Male-&-Female toilet was bordering on disgusting, and I am a bloke - the flush refill and operation was slow, the toilet did not clear, paper and liquids on the floor, no soap at the sink - so bad that my partner would not use when she eventually got there, after standing in a queue of 8. SO - not enough toilets for a 50-seat cafe, not enough cleaners for the floors and toilets, not enough attention to public hygiene, no signed cleaning roster in the toilet area, dirty floors in the cafe area.My comment about the toilets at the counter stimulated a member of staff to go to clean it, carrying the cloth that had just cleaned the work-surface.

Typical Starbacks cafe, good food and typical arrangement. Friendly personnel We really enjoy our visit !!!!

I visited this store recently several times over a week and was very happy with the service and coffee. It is a small store at the top end of town. There were two staff members who were both friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Well done to the lady called Sue, she took time to offer help and held door open for me when I had a lot of coffees to carry out. Sue remembered my name the second time I visited and also made an excellent flat white.

As mentioned by several other reviewers cleaniness could be better. Tables rarely cleared or cleaned. Service good and coffee quick. Pastry nice & fresh. I did unfortunately hit the noisy ice breaking time. But hey has to be done.

Been here twice now and both times I have received bad customer service. As you walk in the door, it smells as if they have washed the floor with dirty water.The first time I was here I came for a quiet coffee and a chat. Within minutes of sitting down a member of staff started banging ice. They proceeded to do this for half an hour! In the end when I said something I was told by the manager it needed to be done - no thought to their customers.They badger you for your name to put on the drinks yet when they are ready they just plonk them on the side and don't call out the name. Will not be coming back here!

I come here very often. Staff is always very helpful and the coffee is always up to standard. Cakes are also very good.

Though it is located in Guildford, a big city of Surrey, the size of this cafe is some small. Of course, you can use toilet, free wifi as a standard service of Starbucks, the others including # of seats are quite a small. But, no problem for take-away !

You're either a fan or you're not. And it you're not, perhaps there's just a little coffee snobbery going on! Starbucks has a particularly milk-friendly primary coffee blend and it also has a good range of hot and cold snacks. So in terms of the range, it was a pretty familiar UK operation. But what I found enormously appealing was the quality of the service. Everyone there went above and beyond to provide friendly, professional service.

The place is a bit worn coffee is average and toilets were dirty. However, it is in a good location when you need a break from shopping. Very good cake!

Had lunch at this Starbucks, it has a nice atmosphere and when I visited with a friend on a Monday lunchtime was nice and quiet. Only downside was that I ordered a Java Chip frappucino and the barista forgot to add the chocolate sauce on top of the cream. This was easily rectified though, with no fuss. Would visit this Starbucks again.

I found this Starbucks very nice inside, with open space and good chairs. On my visit it was hot outside so great to enter and feel the airco'ed ambience inside. The menu is the same as everywhere else so nothing to report. I enjoyed the frappuccino!

Nice coffee, but whilst drinking in they ran out of mugs & we had to have take away cups, I know it's not the end of the world, but you would think a shop would have enough mugs to serve customers with. other than that quite good.

Serves awesome coffee. Generally keeps quite busy with queues. However management is excellent and rush hour is managed well. Coffee is awesome along with some of the sides.

I was enjoying my seasonal visit to Guildford as I can down from Newcastle. It was me and a friends last day in the south and we decided to visit the quaint little high street for a Coffee. The locals recommended we visit KFC as a deal was going on, and we couldn't resist. Their were no seats in KFC so we had to look elsewhere. We searched all down the high street and ended walking into Starbucks as we had planned on a Coffee anyway. We took the most convenient seat and began enjoying the KFC before buying a coffee. A few minutes later a nice looking lady came over and we assumed she was taking our order. However we where wrong and she shouted at us to leave with our 'Outside people food'. I was rudely interrupted while eating some chicken which I thought was disrespectful of an up market Coffee chain. Are whole week was ruined and we return to Newcastle planning on visiting again.The moral of the story is buy Coffee at Starbucks before you choose to get KFC. Props to Burger King for letting us sit at their table. Top staff.

An average experience at Starbucks, forgot to give us a filter coffee and then it was clear it was either too strong or too strong and stewed.

Visit every day at least once and interesting to see the staff turnover which is very high but there always seems to be a professional approach and good coffee - not sure what the common factor is because there is no consistent member of staff. The High Street shop is small but convenient with only one row of seats through the shop. As a card user I get my discounts and free coffees there and also buy coffee for my own coffee maker which they grind for me

Love starbucks, wouldn't drink from Costa! Have tried both and prefer Starbucks for sure. Frapicunno (Caramel) are gorgeous!

Too crowded pushchairs allolwed in among the very small seating are we had to come out. What with babies screaming and phones going not a good place to have a cup of coffee, overpriced as it is.

Clearly staff need customer service training. Ordered 2 coffees and 2 paninis that needed warming. Couldn't even get that simple order right, or provide a VAT receipt for the items. Avoid, and try one of the many independents in the city.

Standard Starbucks food and drink. Reliable. Busy place, sometimes no seats and can be a little messy. Polite staff and windows looking on to the main street provide plenty to see as you drink your coffee and watch the world go by.
