I visited recently from out of town on a recommendation from a close friend. I took my girlfriend here for a date night and we were blown away by the service Fin, our server gave us! We tried the pineapple daiquiri and he even made us the disaronno blush which had been taken off the menu as my partner had a hankering for a sweet cocktail. Fin helped set the mood for a fantastic evening and we would like you to thank him for his excellent service. He is a true gentleman and a gem to the company! 100% recommend to anyone who wants some delicious cocktails and a welcoming vibe.

Hands down best bar in Guildford. Really good music taste. Really kind and helpful bar tender called Sophie. Makes the best cocktails ever and made us laugh so much. All the staff are lovely but Sophie really made it a great experience for us. Couldn’t recommend higher. Sitting outside felt like we were in Spain!

Sophie & Aaron Were really friendly and really helpful when I couldn’t decide what drink to get. I would come back to try more of their cocktails, I’d recommend the espresso martini

Hahaha Clown school! Tried to randomly walk in about 9ish on a Saturday and the bouncer wouldn't let me in as I was on my own... "We don't let single guys in here". Ok, but I'm 44 and not drunk... So, ageist? Racist? Dunno, but made me laugh as it was so ridiculous! Think they see themselves as little better than they actually are. Let's be honest it's a bit of a hole, hasn't really changed from when I was a regular 20 odd years ago. First time I've been blocked from entry anywhere since around 1999! 😂 Hot tip: 44 year olds have more money to spend than 18 year olds! I guess you're getting knocked down soon anyway, so no biggie.

Quiet when we visited but lovely bar to drink in, outside undercover space with heaters and music. Staff really friendly and happy to chat. Great evening. Student nights on weds so pretty busy then.

Came here for some drinks the Friday before Christmas, the cocktail menu wasn't being served and the venue was half empty. It closed at 1am which was a surprise as well.

Really really disappointed as the security didn’t let us in due to there being too many males at the venue, we were told the venue was at a max capacity however there wasn’t that many people in there. Altogether they mainly just want females in their venue, this has happened to me a few times now, avoid wouldn’t recommend!!!

I got refused entry as I did not have a female with me. In accordance with the equality act 2010 this is illegal. When I stated this law I got forcefully pushed away from the door and told that if I carried on standing on the path(which is public) I'd be banned from all pubs in Guildford.the bouncers here are discragand should be sacked

confused about what time they close- on a Saturday outsidele they say 2.30, on Google thay say 1.30, but they kicked us out at 1:05? also the drinks were spenny

Overpriced watered down drinks and boring repetitive music. The only plus was the bouncer seemed quite nice.

What a cracking little venue. Really stylish, funky vibe and good music. Love the cocktails. We went here as it was recommended to us by a friend and my wife seems to remember this place having club nights. Being a Tuesday we did not think much would be going on but it was still bouncing even with only a few people. We were recommended the peach daiquiri which was sublime. Really nice flavor and presented very well. I hear they serve food but I didn't see any. I enquired about venue hire and it is possible. They have a lovely garden space packed with small subwoofers all around, I imagine Five & Lime sounds pretty good when they get it pumping. The staff are really nice and after a couple we went to get some food somewhere else but couldn't help coming back for another drink after! Highly recommend this place. If you like KOMO or that kind of vibe, this is the place to be.

Went for an impromptu drink with a work colleague on a Saturday night for an hour. We met and chatted with other visitors there. We had a great time. The staff were really friendly.

Nice spot for a chill and really nice vibes. Can kick back with friends for some quality time. Recommend getting there as early as poss since it get filled up really quick.

Five and lime Guildford. Don’t come here! ‘Person in charge’ at the door was so rude and turned me and my friends down. Said he kicked me out 7 months ago and wouldn’t let me in but I have never been here before. He was rude and unprofessional. Wouldn’t listen to me and kept turning away from me. Was excited to try it out for the first time but will never ever try again. RUDE RUDE RUDE.

Music and atmosphere is always 10/10 whatever day you come on! The service is exceptional & the staff are so friendly and warming. There is no other bar I would choose in Guildford apart from Five & Lime. Drinks are cheap especially when 2-1 cocktails and student nights (Wednesdays). I’m a regular who comes here every other or so week! 10/10 always xxx

We turned up and the “bouncer” told us we couldn’t come in as he’d seen us before and the last time we came we were trouble, but we live in Southampton and had come to Guildford for the night so had never been there. Very rude. Don’t recommend.

A very popular place with a nice, chilled vibe aesthetically on the inside and an open garden area in the back. It is a small space but not too small. They have good 2-4-1 deals on cocktails. The only reason why I'm retrained from giving 5 stars is because when I went I would've preferred a menu of the drinks and cocktails offered or at least something for the employees to read off of even if it is impressive to know it off by heart.

Called ahead to check there was free tables and told this bar was first come first seated, we made our way over and got a nice table for an hour until the rude manager approached us and said he really needs to table for another group without an offer of any other place to sit we had to leave the bar and cut our evening short. As we walked through the bar he had a angry large group so clearly wanted to put them in place of us. Disgusting way to treat customers even when we said ok we will just finish our drinks he replied no I need it now. We won’t come back and will find something better in future.

All of the reviews say EXACTLY the same thing - about the disgusting behaviour of the bouncers who 1) pick & choose based on looks who they allow in or not 2) including if people have disabilities! They even mimick the way people talk, and laugh at customers. I will never ever be going there again, along with all my friends who witnessed this atrocious behaviour.Would not recommend this bar to an enemy! Overpriced, terrible customer service and misogynistic and degrading bouncers - worst bar in Guildford by a mile.Would recommend Komo, Pews and other pubs/bars instead :) don’t waste your time & money. Such a shame that the owner of this bar watches this behaviour happen and allows it! Yuck

best spot in guildford to chill and meet new people

A really friendly place, right in the centre of town. A large, covered seating area outside at the back, heated, for we nicotine addicts. No decent ale on pumps, however, which is a minor drawback. An alternative was found, but I forget right now what that was.

A really good place for a meeting to chat, drink and (dare I say it?) smoke out in their covered, heated outdoor area. Cheerful and very friendly staff, not a lot of choice on the Ale front, but Lagers galore. My older brother found the place, as he can't walk too far from his centrally located flat in Hayden Place.

Can be too crowded, fun either way

Have just visited this bar for a few cocktails considering that's what's promoted on their website and inside the bar on a black board with white letters but was very disappointed. Asked for a French 75 and a mojito and was told by the bar tender that then no longer do cocktails. Misadvertisment or what. So a couple of beers instead. Not best impressed with our fist visit

As I have seen by past reviews your bouncers have already been an issue! I seriously think the management of this bar need to look into the behaviour of their employees. 6’5 tall bouncer with a concealed identity by wearing a scarf up to his eyes intimidating a 5’5 slim lady is not a good look.To be honest all of the bouncing staff seem to be extremely irresponsible and it felt like they were strutting around as if they had some kind of kudos due to working at this bar in leafy Guildford (wanna be gangsters springs to mind) A huge embarrassment to the profession I hope that you are investigated !

We got turned away as it was “too full” yet a group of attractive girls got let in right behind us. The owner has apparently informed bouncers to let attractive girls in if and when they choose, this was confirmed by staff working there. Not about predatory venues and Staff, thought it was 2019.

Nice little place with a small outdoor area. Enjoyed the music selection which happened to be progressive house and house...might have to stay a little later next time to see what comes on next- Good speakers :) friendly staff

So this is what happened. All my friends and I usually go out to this place. Its small and we always find acquaintances here. The past couple of weeks we had trouble to get in because we were more males than females. Today we were refused entry on a stupid excuse that we were drinking alcohol while in the queue. This is unacceptable. This is not even a quality bar, I for sure do not suggest this place to anyone.

Five and lime has been my favourite bars in Guildford ever since I moved here over a year ago however my friends and I have “tried” to go two weeks in a row now and not being let in for reasons that the bouncers seem to be coming up with on the spot First week we were told that there had been an age restriction placed two days prior to going there and it was now an over 21 club due to a problem with fake IDs?? Unfortunately we had a 20 year old with usThe following week we were told we were not allowed in because there were too many men in the bar? Why is this an acceptable reason to turn away customers? This was once my favourite place to go and have a quite drink or two with friends however I will not be returning since it seems I will never be allowed in for who knows what reason next time

I witnessed the bouncers being extremely heavy handed with a customer and his girlfriend, to the point of being unlawful. The bouncers are thugs and a disgrace to their profession. I would not be recommending this place to anyone and will not be going back there myself.

We booked a table outside for my sister's surprise birthday party. On the day of the party the weather was horrendous. I popped in to drop off some decorations and the gentleman who greeted me truly understands customer service. He managed to get us a table inside, was very accommodating with our requests and had a smile throughout. The whole team welcomed us and provided excellent service throughout the evening even though they were packed! The outside section actually is lovely and even if it was raining would still have been a nice space to be in with very warm heaters. Music was excellent. An all round fantastic evening, thanks guys and gals!

100% my favourite bar in Guildford, not too expensive and staff are lovely, I have been going for at least 7 years. If you are looking for a cocktail bar I think they stop serving them at 8 which sucks!! so I'd recommend Turtle Bay for that .. It is rather small inside but fantastic atmosphere so you don't really notice it😊if you ever went to the legion in guildford (the night club not the social club) it's just like that but smaller.

I've been here for drinks multiple times and they are always great. Always accommodating even if coming in with a large crowd. Service time is reasonable considering the volume of cocktails ordered and the drinks always taste marvellous. It makes for a great venue for cocktails before heading for dinner with your other half with a nice atmosphere.

Not sure about the music. V busy. Guess you'll like it if you are like 45???

It was awful, they don't allow women to have fun, they expect women to be dominated my males for no justified reason. I was humiliated by there service and appalled by there act of discrimination, I will never be returning and I hope no women with any self respect will attend any future events

Had a very bad experience in this place. The staff is treating customers extremely disrespectful. The bouncers are acting like they can do whatever they want to the clients without any reason. Will not go back there.

The drinks are not nice, on Wednesdays overcrowded, been there few times and it’s an absolute disaster. Bouncers are treating people like animals. They give intimidating looks and then hitting people in blindspot places which are not covered by CCTV. I will never come here again!

Cosy cocktail bar, with garden out the back. I haven't been let in every time, and sometimes there's a cover charge (depends what time you arrive I think). Nice interior and they make the coffee fresh for an expresso martini.

Bar with a dress code that would not allow smart trousers. Absoultely outrangerous. First ever time in my life around the world. What a JOKE !
