Great stop while out shopping. I indulged in the Strawberry Matcha iced frappe, while husband had an Americano with milk, with a slice of cake each. Nice location, friendly staff and good coffee! Not to mention the cakes! Top notch

The staff here are always so nice! Last week I was served by Oscar who was incredibly nice, he really made my day :)

Visited at 9am on Saturday and were greeted immediately. Sean and Oscar were excellent at getting our egg bites and oatmeal plus great coffees. It was busy but they were exceptionally friendly and professional. Great service.

Starbucks at York Vanguard is, as you would expect as part of a large modern complex, very smart and tidy. It isn’t what you would call cosy, but I guess it’s not really designed with long, lingering coffees in mind. Service was very good, as were the coffees.

Massive store, very hardworking smiley staff who are always on the ball. Coffee always delicious. Always a good experience.

Visited Starbucks at Monks Cross during the afternoon. Three people behind the counter and no customers. Service was good. Went to sit at a table outside. Full of dirty cups and plates. Despite not being busy no one came and cleared the table during the whole time I was there. Contrast this with the Costa next door. The tables were not only cleaned but someone came out to help someone struggling with two dogs. Starbucks staff appeared lazy. Not acceptable. I prefer Starbucks coffee but the service makes me consider switching to Costa on my next visit.

Visited Starbuck on Monks Cross today, on entering the premises with my husband we saw it was busy and every table was occupied but noticed that people in the queue had whoever they were with going and sitting at the table as they became empty, without waiting for them to be sanitised or cleaned properly. I also noticed there was a gentleman occupying a table having finished his drink having a conversation on his laptop. When we got to the counter we ordered our drinks and some cookies, the assistant asked our name to write on the cups which i thought was strange when we only ordered tea. This was given to us and our cookies in bags and we were told how much it was my husband tried to pay by cash and was told rather sharply "Card only" but no signs were near the till area to tell customers this. We took our drinks and stood near a high table, I went to the toilet and found it disgraceful ... water all over the floor and toilet paper and sanitiser for you to spray the toilet.When I came out there was still no tables but I again noticed people coming in and sitting at emptying tables we decided to take our drinks outside because it was getting rather busy . The tea was very milky and tasteless so bad I left mine on one of the tables outside Starbucks, mays well have put the £9 odd it cost down the drain . Starbucks would be better getting someone to stand at the entrance and explain what procedure customers should be following not just a free for all wont be going back there thats for sure .. .

Great coffee had here and thoroughly enjoyed. The price was reasonable. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Extremely rude waitress barely served me this morning. I haven't visited starbucks often so had to ask which sizes were the options for my cup of tea. Her response? She barked "small, medium or large" then tutted as me as though I were stupid. I am deaf and wear hearing aids so am finding it more difficult to communicate due to masks/ perspex screens etc but after saying pardon twice and bring spoken to like I was stupid I just accepted our drinks and didn't say any more. Her colleague (the shorter of the 2 waitresses) was clearly embarrassed. It's a shame I'm not the 20 something young man who was served after us because he received the politest, friendliest service, everyone else were clearly just a nuisance.

We dont tend to go to Starbucks or the like because we find them expensive and they at end of the day are just a cafe. We had been given a voucher as a gift for Starbucks so decided while on a weekend break in York we would have a drink in here. We were going to stay inside but there were dirty cups left on tables and it just looked not that great and although there seemed to a few serving, they were taking ages. One took your order and your payment then you stood to the one side to wait for your order to be done by someone else! One method of stopping people walking out because of the long wait because you have already ordered and paid for your take away drink because no one is clearing and cleaning tables! Like say if we hadnt had the voucher we would of found a nice cafe and sat inside to have our drink and no doubt at a quite considerable price difference with better service.

For starters I just wanted to say I havent been here multiples times however there is a reason behind this. I came in a few times when i used to work close by and i ordered a cappochino and ham and cheese toastie, the staff were polite and fast so no bad comments about the service but the coffee was too bitter for my own liking however the toastie was very good and i would get one again however for the both items i bought it was a lot of money for them and even though it was good I wouldnt reccomend wasting money on these when you can go elsewhere for the same thing but much more cheaper. If the prices were lower then i really think more people would come to Starbucks.

I use this Starbucks regularly and have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. The drinks are tasty and the food is great too.

Fantastic service from the young guy with a beard (did not get his name), nothing was too much trouble. Friendly to everyone. Good food & coffee.

Went for a standard hot chocolate and stayed for the bants!! He was the best barrister I’ve been served by, will go again!!

Esta vez visité Starbucks en York, fue sorprendentemente tranquilo. Tal vez fue porque fue un frío día de febrero. El lugar estaba limpio, el servicio era bueno y el café del estándar habitual de Starbucks, como el pan de frutas tostadas.

Como un habitual en Starbucks en todo el Reino Unido. Estaba disgustado con este. Excelentes bebidas como siempre, pero a pesar de que el lugar estaba muerto, fue una desgracia. El personal está hablando de computadoras y mesas. Piso y no me hagas comenzar en los baños. Horrible. Por favor, gestión, solucione la limpieza aquí. No es lo que esperan los clientes leales

Mi madre y yo visitamos un viernes almuerzo mientras compras navideñas en monjes Cross. El restaurante nos pareció bastante tranquila, con un montón de mesa disponible. Pedimos paninis, y el personal era rápido para calentar y llevar a nosotros. Vale la pena una visita, quizás a veces tranquilo.

Stopped by for a caffeine fix. Quick and very friendly service. My cappuccino coffee tasted good!!!!!!

Not the best coffee around Monks Cross. You can get better. It was hot and contained caffeine, thats as good as it got. Sorry.

Disgusting dirty and unwashed tables. Wait forever for a drink. Slow staff. Got 2 Cheese and ham toasties 1 and a cappuccino £10.83. Rip off. Won't be back.

This Starbucks is rather attractive for its general ambiance and atmosphere but I found service rather slow - which is often the case in such coffee chains so is not that unusual. Once served, the coffee was hot and of the usual Starbucks standard. My muffin was fresh and there was the usual range of snack foods on sale. Despite its pleasant atmosphere I thought a good clean around would help the place. Overall rating 'average; and I would go there again knowing the coffee is good.

This Starbucks is on a corner in the old part of town and was a good place for coffee which was fairly standard Starbucks but in an old Englsh setting.

Called in for a quick refreshments break about 10am.. A table if 10 or so students shouting n screeching.. The place was dark and scruffy the soft armchairs were very badly stained with Lord knows what. Never again.

Had to wait 22 min for a latte today, ordered an Americano and a latte, americano came, latte did not had to check after 5 min or so- no order. They really didn't seem to care. Must have been a long day.

Very disappointing visit to Starbucks. You normally know what you're going to get as it's a franchise but cleanliness was definitely lacking here. Dirty cups and rubbish everywhere including window front. Struggled to get a proper mug from them which was brought out under duress.

Considering Starbucks are usually pretty on the ball in terms of quality this was a real let down, particularly in the middle of York.

Kwaliteit die men mag verwachten van de Starbucks. De medewerkers op beide locaties in de stad zijn zeer vriendelijk. Wij hebben bij de andere Starbucks even gezeten en een latte machiatto caramel en thee gedronken. De hoeveelheid die je ontvangt is je geld waard.

Located in an old building on a corner it looks like most of the other very old shops and restaurants around. Inside is small and old and has some ambience but the coffee and service was fairly average. There is not much else around early morning so this was as good as it gets.

We went for coffee after shopping . Staff were friendly and coffee lovely. The surprising thing was how dirty the place was. We went just before 10.30 am and it was disgraceful. Crumbs and food all over the floor and tables. The assistant put our coffee tray on the dirty table. I asked him if he would mind wiping it which he did then thanked me for telling him it needed cleaning! Like he hadn't noticed. I then had to get a load of paper serviettes as it was swimming in water. Next time we're going next door to Costa.

Visited here on 14th may, staff very friendly,but on sitting down with coffee &light; snack we all found it to be very untidy, then obviously after our coffee like women do we needed the toilet,well i think who ever does the cleaning needs training in a lot of areas, disappointed to say the least.

Always friendly service at this Starbucks. Depending on the time of day, it can be nice and quiet or quite full

Rude staff, unpleasant experience. Definitely need more customer service training. They couldn't have given a damn, did not make it clear that their card machines were playing up. I was made to feel like it was my fault for ordering what I wanted then I couldn't pay because I didn't have cash on me. I asked if they would be willing to try the machine but they wouldn't. Very unpleasant after a lovely day shopping with my daughter :((

Starbucks is a favourite of mine and you are always guaranteed good food and coffee. This one is no exception with immaculate decor and staff that are very friendly. Food was freshly made and of a very high standard. Would highly recommend

The service is always very good, the coffee is as you would expect from this chain, but the seating area is always covered in empty cake wrappers, sugar paper and general tat. Needs someone to take a broom and mop to it.

I visit this place regularly as a respite from shopping. The staff are always very friendly and this always makes a place better even if it is a chain.

This is a good Starbucks outlet near to Debenhams. There is an outside seating area where it is pleasant to sit and watch the world go by. The coffee is the usual high standard one expects from this chain and the staff are excellent.

Came here for lunch. Lovely comfy seats. Staff were so friendly and interested in where we came from. Coffee was up to the usual standard. Lunch was exceedingly nummie. Granola bar was extremely Moorish. Come here for your coffee.

Liking Starbucks over costa at the minute and the coffee here was spot on! well done! On the downside, the place was a little untidy and could have easily been cleaned up as three members of staff on and no one collecting cups / plates.
