Very rude staff. Ordered two coffees. Server mumbled something. Coffees served in take away cups. I said ‘sorry we are sitting in’. Staff member says ‘dishwasher broken, it’s take away cups only’. I said ‘but the dishwasher has been broken for over a month now and last time I was allowed to take a proper cup, and your colleague said that he’d wash it’. ‘No, it’s health and safety’. Not an apology, quite brusque and rude. I said ‘I will wash the cup myself, I just don’t like take away cups, the coffee doesn’t taste as good’. At £4 a cup, I do feel that customers can expect a cup! Staff says ‘well you were told it’s take away cups only and you still ordered, if you don’t like it I’ll refund you’. Hubby drank his, I accepted a refund for the principle. I feel that the staff simply do not wish to fill and empty the dishwasher. Which large chain would allow a dishwasher to be out of use for over a month???

Fantastic Starbucks. Best one I've visited. The staff are so helpful and friendly. There's an amazing range of drinks on offer and the food is fab. Cannot fault it. Definitely my favourite place to eat when shopping in Portsmouth.

This place threw me a curveball. I didn’t see this coming out of a clear blue sky. I’ve thought about it before committing to this review and I’ve decided they are chancers - 21st century pirates - alive and well in Portsmouth. I’m a loyal Starbucks gold card holder for years. I literally easily spend over £1000 a year with them. I get extra shots, syrups etc but here….wait for it…I was charged 5 pence for a plastic cup of water and ice with my two cappuccino coffees and almond croissants. It’s not the 5p it’s the attitude. I usually sip water with my coffee. I do understand there’s a cost but some costs must be absorbed and they’ve recently increased their prices/margins quite significantly. They are, as we North Irish say, extracting the ur ine. It’s a long time since my flabber was gasted. This isn’t a struggling small scale operator; it’s a mega global company worth billions of dollars with a franchisee screwing loyal customers for a few pennies for a plastic cup of water when they are drowning in ceramic cups in store. My cappuccinos were served in ceramic cups and my almond croissants were served on a ceramic plate. I’ve avoided Starbucks since. I went to a costa coffee today and when I asked for water I got a large ice-filled glass of the stuff with my coffees with no additional charge. I’ve been to Pret, Hotel Chocolat, M&S and a few independents too - all cheerfully provided iced water for free, with a smile. So my advice is avoid this place and go elsewhere. I’m surprised these robbers aren’t charging for each sachet of sugar but charging for plastic cups it’s not beyond them to start perhaps only a matter of time? Time to review my loyalty to this pocket rifling brand.

Service slow, even though there were two people already waiting for their ordered coffees and I was front of the line. Ordered my coffee, asked my name, which they always spell wrong. No problem there though. The issue was with the lukewarm coffee given in my takeaway cup. No sleeve either, why should we be paying over 3 pounds for lukewarm coffee served with not so much a smile? Going downhill unfortunately and I have been going to this Starbucks for a quite a while now. What has changed?

He estado yendo a este Starbucks por años. No puedo entender las críticas negativas. El personal siempre es educado y amable. Por lo general, tienen un color blanco plano y es mejor que en la mayoría de los cafés. La música de fondo es tranquila y relajante. No abrumado con el sonido de chillidos y gemidos de cantantes como en muchos establecimientos.

El personal es muy amable, sin embargo, el servicio es bastante lento. También elegí comer, solo yo, y tenía un montón de cubiertos de plástico arrojados encima de mi bandeja, ¿no están tratando de reducir su consumo de plástico hoy en día? No usé nada de eso, pero teniendo en cuenta que había tocado mi comida, solo puedo suponer que la tiraron.Hubiera preferido no ir a una cadena, pero hay algunas otras opciones disponibles.

Vengo aquí la mayoría de las veces que estoy en Portsmouth simplemente porque es el único Starbucks aquí. . . Cada vez que entro aquí, la espera para el café es absolutamente ridícula. . . . no tienen menos personal que cualquier otro Starbucks, pero todos parecen no tener trucos. . . . ¡siempre hay una gran cantidad de personas esperando que actúen juntas y realmente preparen el café! ! ! Se necesita más capacitación y un nuevo gerente. . . . .

Solía ir allí con mucha frecuencia con mi mejor amigo. Siempre fue un lugar muy agradable donde nos gustaba sentarnos a tomar una copa y conversar juntos. La comida y las bebidas siempre fueron muy buenas. El personal era agradable dependiendo de quién era.

Soy un cliente habitual y muy recomendable. El servicio siempre es excelente y el personal es muy amable y servicial. Nunca tuve motivos para quejarme. Hubo problemas en el pasado, pero el nuevo equipo con Kate a la cabeza lo tiene todo bajo control. A veces se llena y hay que ser paciente. También es bueno ver a las personas con discapacidades que trabajan allí y se les da la misma oportunidad.

Después de ver el cartel de los cafés de Navidad, pensé que le daría un giro a Starbucks. ¡Nunca más! El personal es grosero y antipático. Un pequeño letrero escrito a mano decía "solo cambio exacto o tarjeta" (deletreado incorrectamente) Pedí 2 grandes cremas doradas. Servicio muy lento, tazas sucias con todo el almíbar atascado en el fondo de las tazas. La barrista no llevaba guantes y estaba tosiendo por las bebidas, ella estaba gimiendo a otro personal que no podía esperar para irse a su descanso. Detrás del mostrador estaba sucio y descuidado. El café en general estaba sucio. Pisos sucios, paredes y mesas.Esperaba algo mejor de una cadena de renombre. Una pérdida de dinero y una pérdida de tiempo. Evitar a toda costa.

We came in for a coffee and the service was awful. I was made to feel like my presence was a annoyance. We wait around 25 minutes in the queue to just get served. Overall not impressed.

We stopped here for a coffee and a break after some serious shopping .I am coeliac and was quite hungry- but there wasn’t anything suitable for me to eat (I have to follow a strict gluten free diet and also have a milk intolerance).I can always get a good coffee - but there is a serious shortage of gluten free food on offer. So I went hungry - come on Starbucks I can’t be the only customer that is disappointed. As in previous visits the tables are left with dirty cups and plates and the floor is littered with crumbs.I wish I had gone to Costa instead as they at least had a lovely selection of Christmas cakes/mince pies etc to offer me

.....real shame that they don't do them dairy free too :-( this meant that there was nothing for me to eat ( apart from a marshmellow type bar). Not really acceptable in this day and age when there are many people with coeliac disease.

Its incredible how an almost new branch can be run so badly - in early on a Friday, totally empty bar us, 4 or more staff there looking at their mobiles, tables not cleared, others (no most - bar the massive one that no one ever uses) filthy, the floor filthy, seats filthy, toilet filthy - but it has to be said a cracking cup of coffee - but the building is a total pit !

Having visited Starbucks - cascades this morning for a quick coffee with hubby I was disgusted to witness a member of staff openly berate an older gentlemen because he was unused to using Starbucks terminology for ordering a simple cup of coffee. She was openly heard to say "he was completely clueless" to her colleague having raised her eyebrows and pulled a face to the customer - just disgusting in this day and age.

Ok the only best thing about this place is the blond northern lady on checkouts who remembers my order every other day. Besides that I don't care to wait for Ten minuets after I have ordered as one team member is on the pass. This branch is always busy and always short staffed so I am always informed by Parris the duty manager. (To be frank that's not my issue) the coffee is good as set standard with Starbucks. I just think they need (the team) to have a few cans of redbull or maybe try there own espresso to kick start them into creating and managing to finish a grande caramel Mac in under Ten min flat. ...... do I ask to much ? Now the Chichester branch is always busy yet manages to get my order out within 4 minutes from payment... so does Worthing, brighton and even Whitely... its such a shame I hate Costa as I would quite frankly take my sixty to eighty pound a month and furnish that company's pockets. Tax free of course ! this branches team needs to be re trained in time management and product completion. ! Within a good standard of time keeping. We do not even get a "sorry for the wait" from ANY of the team, including the Chinese/Asian female Barrista who more a less chucks your beverage at you. A sorry would go a long way.....

This branch within the shopping complex stocks all the usual Starbucks range including the excellent new Piccino which has quickly become our drink of choice. Together with Fruit Toast it makes a reviving stop when out and about. Friendly and efficient staff plus a selection of different seating types adds to the experience.

Always add the extra premium coffee and somehow other charges, fortunately because I'm a gold Starbucks card holder those charges go away. Dread to think how many people get overcharged just so they hit their targets 😒

On a busy day this place offered a quiet retreat from the crowds. There is extra seating near the back of the establishment and some limited outdoor space mainly used by those that smoke. Usual drinks and cakes and hot sandwiches on offer plus a few with a seasonal twist.

Ordered two coffees to drink in, via machine at entrance. Waited a while even though one section of counter wasn't serving anyone. Order was placed in takeaway cups so I asked why not in proper ones. I was told the are was mainly takeaway. I said I'd asked for eat in and server poured said coffee into them. Observed several people trying to order at other serving point only to be told (rather curtly)to go to other one by a young man with no explanation. No sign to say that section now closed and as only 3.30pm a little bemused. It was a quite busy time

The coffee is terrible it has no coffee in it. Worst coffee I have tasted for £3.20 I took it back and asked for black and it still tasted like hot water. This is because they set the machine to put small amount of coffee in it. Will never come here again. Stop scamming your customers. The Breakfast was ok got 2 stars coffee 0 stars

We have eaten in here a few times and love it. Not sure if it has changed hands but what a different experience. Firstly it was like battersea dogs home,we have no problem with dogs at all but when they are barking very loudly the owners should be asked to deal with it. secondly, when our meals came up wrong it was shocking how they made us feel like it was our fault , nobody would take ownership so customer service went out of the window and the handling of it was grim. Food was ok ish once sorted. Certainly won't go back for a long time.
