Great little Indian takeaway, foods incredible and the team are really friendly and good fun. Service is quick too and food is piping hot.

It’s absolutely amazing!!!! The staff at the takeaway are always so sweet and friendly and they remember if you go more than once as they give loads of free food if you’re a regular. Food was a 10/10 as the chef is very accommodating to personalising dishes to whatever spice level you like. We unfortunately ate all the food (so I don’t have any pictures) which was incredibly generous with portion sized as only a few curries was able to feed 8 of us. The food was made really quickly(20 minutes) despite being such a large order and gave my nephews lollipops as they were fussy so super kid friendly. Generally an amazing place not just because of the great food but also the amazing atmosphere. Love the staff. Such a cute small family business!!!

Very GOOD had meal for two with chicken Korma extra ,special fried rice,extra name bread ,onion bargees,chips. £45 .Shared between three there is enough left for one more meal for the three of us. Very good meal and phone order was quick.

Truck driver lots of takeaway experience all over from the top of Scotland to the bottom of England this is my 2nd visit which I have been looking for to all day because my 1st visit was that impressive that it went straight to my number 2 in the most yum yum whoop whoop tasting curry's I have tasted & not disappointed this time just a normal plain lamb curry wowzers the curry flavour is there wish I could find a takeaway in Newcastle that could produce such a nice taste So all I can say is thank you & well done hope you are so proud of your skills I look forward to seeing you again soon

Hi all truck driver passing through This is the 2nd time I have been to here been excited & looking forward to it all day because of my 1st visit I ordered a plain lamb curry & the taste was that whoop whoop it went straight to my number 2 in most favourite curry places in the country & only words I can honestly say about my 2nd visit is Wow thank you 👍

Without a doubt, one of the best Indian takeaways in the local area. Open kitchen and super friendly staff, it's worth ordering via phone as it can be busy on weekend evenings.

Meat madras tasted like spicey tomato soup. Fries were under cooked.

Been uaing the star balti house for years ever since they opened always fantastic food. Lately though not so good. Its like chef has lost his passion. Bombay potato was really salty and this is the 2nd time ever the food was not upto the standard it has been for years. Dont k ow what has happened but will go somewhere else and hopefully find a decent curry. Is it because of online food ordering? Just recently gone down hill. Sorry guys but it has.

I'd already scoffed my chicken burger meal. So didn't get any photos. Tut tut. Anyway, what more can I say about this establishment other than they're food is PERFECTION!!!! It's never greasy, always generous portions, tasty and overall incredible value for money. Their Indian dishes are even more perfect than their English dishes!!! If you want a great meal at a budget friendly price; The Star Balti should be your first consideration 😀 thank you again for a phenomenal meal x

Truck driver passing through area delivery on a industrial estate a few minutes away so essentials needed Wow lucky find were the row of shops were I got told there was a chip shop so when I came to the end of the row of shops the smell of this takeaway lead me straight there beautiful my order mixed tikka wrap which I have to say enjoyable Now I travel all over UK & tried lots of Indian takeaways looking to find that certain flavour of curry that tastes like that beautiful spell in the air yes I have found a few not many but Whoop Whoop I have found another my plain lamb curry thank you please take a bow top award on this curry highest amount of stars on flavour people of Eastleigh you, s have been blest

Lovely friendly takeaway, where they cook the food fresh on site in front of the customers.

I ordered online and arrived to collect as directed (1 hour) to find order hadn't even been started. I then waited 1hr 45 mins for food to be cooked, drove back to marwell resort wher 7 friends were waiting and the order wasn't correct. 3 main courses missing and 1 incorrect dish. Absolutely diabolical service. I was told the wait was due to new sta!! £90 order don't order from here!

Best Indian takeaway in boyatt wood, definitely 100% recommend wouldn't go anywhere else

After chatting to the guy who works here he convinced me they make vegan curries with no problem, so I ordered a load We had saag aloo, vegetable curry and a few other things, I just said asked them to make me some food I ended up with four meals and sides for about £20 and it was all delicious, it lasted a couple of days too The staff there are super friendly and made extra efforts to make my food vegan, it tasted great and I’m now a semi regular, I still prefer to make my own food but in a pinch I know there’s a great Indian experience within walking distance I just need them to make vegan naan breads and give up on the side salad in a bag, not sure anyone eats this 😁

We've recently used this take away three times. Each time we've gone in and ordered and it's been a 35 to 40 minute wait for the food. 1st time found a lot of the food swimming in ghee, far to much used, making things very oily. WE can both eat 'Hot' and 'Very Hot Curries', but even my Madras I battled with. My partners Chili Curry was off the scale!! 2nd time. We made our order, when we got home, there were extra dishes and chapatis, which we hadn't even ordered but were charge for. You don't expect that happen so you don't check before paying. And finally today. We thought keep it simple. Well they screwed it up.. I ordered Pilau Rice and got a Bombay Aloo!!! Again my Madras was more like a Phaal, and totally swimming in an oily sauce!!! ANd we would have been overcharged by £4.55, had we not written the prices down of our order!! Mistakes can happen but I feel this was plain dishonesty.. The place was not busy when we went in, so draw your own conclusions. Final reckoning, Foods Nice "But"!!!! We won't be going there again.

Visiting Eastleigh to watch the England final with my Dad. Dad & his partner recommeded this takeaway and we were not disappointed, one of the nicest Indian meals we have had for a long time. We ordered vegitarian food and it was delicious. Well done The Star, it was a very good meal.

Having read some of the poor reviews, while I do not doubt the truth of their complaints, I have never had any problems. I phone through my order. They usually say 10 or 15 minutes, I then go there and collect the food. No problems. And I use the place a lot. In addition, I find all the guys there friendly and helpful.

Conveniently located in the precinct with plenty of free parking. Staff was friendly and polite. There plenty to choose from. The food didn’t take long to be ready for collection. The portion size was generous, the taste was amazing and the food was hot (temperature). Definitely a hidden gem and good value for your money. Recommended.

Been using this place for years, great quality food all cooked in front of your eyes. very reasonably priced and portion size is very good. would definitely recommend, and yes I've tried them all.

Great food great staff cant beat it

Called them & ordered. When food was delivered (nearly 2 hours later) they gave us too many items and charged us for them to which they would not give us our money back for the bits we did not order! Food itself was very Oily, salty and overcooked. Will not be ordering from here again as they are rude and have no customer standards.

Always really good. I like it being an open kitchen so you can watch it being cooked. Decent portion sizes, and great naan breads :)

Cheep but not cheerful Indian. Positives: 1. It is cheep, there is a lot of meat and veg in the curry. 2. Curry tasted OK. 3. They are open during covid era. Negatives: 1. Curry was swimming in oil. 2. Clumps of colouring at the bottom of the rice. 3. Worst samosas Super thick pastry very little filling. 4. Really hard bhajis. I would pay more for better quality.

I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The food here has the best flavours from all around India and is all cooked in full view in an open kitchen which is in itself is entertaining. The nan breads are amazing too and the overall value for money can not be beaten. I have since moved some 40 minutes from the area but still travel to use this Indian takeaway because it is so good as others which are local to me do not even come close whether you like it hot, or not quite so much. Top advice is to telephone in your order else you may be in for a wait as these guys to get busy! Enjoy.

First time I've used this place for a while..and probably the last! The place needs a refurbishment, the food was awful dripping in oil, definitely the worst Indian I and the wife have had for years..horrible dirty place

Would rather give a no star rating... Rang through an order told it would be 30 minutes, arrived to pick it up and endecd up waiting nearly two hours... Service was terrible they seriously need a lesson in customer services they gave us poor excuses every time we asked if it was ready... Left with NOmeal in the end as we got fed up with waiting.....

Ordered our dinner at 7pm. Was told 20 minutes. Went down at 7.25. Was told won't be long, 2 hours later and still no food! After an argument got money back after 2 and a half hours. Never using it again! Absolutely shocking service. Front of house was rude also. Staff need sorting.

Been going here for many years and never had a bad meal. Well cooked and friendly service cant recommend them highly enough. If you have never been then try them. Some have complained about the wait but its always been good for me, 10 mins when quiet and about 1 hour when really busy but they normally will tell you.

Rang up and pre ordered at 5.30pm and told it would be ready for collection at 6.00pm. Got there at 6.00pm and had to wait an extra 45min. I don't having to wait an extra 10/15 if its busy but that wasn't acceptable. The guy at the counter with glasses on didn't even say sorry for the wait when handing my food. Start being honest to people on the phone if you are busy. I'm gathering this is happening alot as a few customers weren't happy. Food was good but this gets a 1 star as that was my spare time wasted!

It’s not the first time this place has been a total let down, the wife pre ordered our curry for two around 6.30 for collection for 7pm. She made the journey to the balti house to collect only to find a queue of people all with the same problem. 8.20 she got handed our ordered. They seem to struggle to get orders out at the time promised. A lot of angry people in the takeaway. Nice food if you get it on time, I’d recommend going somewhere else if you’re not in a rush

This is a take away curry house it serves a vast array of curries from around Asia,every meal is freshly cooked to order,the portion sizes are bigger than all the other establishments in Eastleigh,the staff are friendly and I can highly recommend a visit,have never had a bad meal there

Good value take away Indian (Bangladesh) food. They only take cash so make sure you have enough or you can visit the cash machines around the corner at the post office or co-op. I've found the food to be of good standard for the price.

Fabulous service, they are always chatty and happy. I ordered the two burger meals and they were cooked quickly and to a fantastic standard. Absolutely delicious and great value for money.

Terrible. The guy was more interested in watching the snooker than taking my order. Also the curry sauce is literally just sauce from a curry he just made by the looks of it. The burger was burnt to a crisp and they seem to not understand the difference between lamb and beef... the burger was smothered in mayo yet nowhere said it would have mayo on it. Overall, Really really sh*t.

Excellent food with good service. The prices are good too. Easy parking and your order is usually ready when they said it would be. Make sure you're hungry when you order because they definitely do not skimp on the food. Enjoy it.

Open kitchen so you can see the cooking which i like. It is slightly time warped - there is even a picture of Princess Diana on the wall wearing a headscarf ?. The food is very good (the family have tried allsorts over the years) and they've all been very yum. The portion sizes are generous. It can get very busy so If you order, and get told it'll be ready in 25 minutes, it could end up as 40 (or more).

This is an indian take away with all the standard menu favorites and a few chef specials but one of the things that make it stand out is the open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. Many places do the open kitchen but here have been that way for years and you see all the kitchen not just a glimpse though a hatch way. Check out the menu for extras and special deals free portions, pappadums or salads. I employed this company to cater for a birthday party where bulk portions were required this they did admarably though they don't advertise this service. The Star Balti owner is a bussiness man so ask him to service your catering needs and he will do everything he can to accomodate you. I use only this take away when i'm eating Indian and will visit again. Only negative point is some of the equipment and decore is getting dated but new wall paper won't make the curry any tastier.

Very dissapointed! Thought I would try the king prawn Madras, the 8 prawns where extremely overcooked they didn't look or taste right.. swimming in oily curry sauce.

Mixed kebab starter was really dry, onion bhajis were inedible, as was the round meat patty in the starter. The other bit of meat was bearable, but only when covered in sauce from the chilli chicken.
