Had takeaway , expensive but high quality food

Super busy at 8pm on a Friday night, great buzz with full tables and a 45 min wait for our booked table to be ready for us. Staff are helpful and attentive when we needed something, like more beers please.. We had a good selection of food and as always starting with a few pap's and chutneys - there's a spicy mango chutney which I have never had and it was the dog nad's. As always when going to a new curry restaurant I had a Chicken Dhansak and Sag Aloo. Quality is good and worth the wait.

Good curry. Lamb vindaloo was tasty without being a heat fest.

Will recommend Jewels to anyone who loves an Indian meal. Great service and vibe.

Nice place, comfortable, clean, attentive staff, good choice and the food was lovely, best Indian in a while, no pushy upselling, although the higher price end good value.

Visited tonight first impressions very nice laid out establishment the price of the food is over the top I had to call the waiter over to take my order even though restaurant only a couple of people in it When food came it was ok not great just ok but not worth what I was charged Not once did a waiter come over and ask how the food is Had a much better experience and service in another restaurant in town which is a very well known restaurant with much better service and better quality food Jewels really need to look at their prices the whole experience was way over priced for what we got

Vegetable Madras and onion bhaji side. the Madras was vinegary and pretty tasteless other than that. The onion bhajis were very dry and didn't seem in any way recently freshly made. Disappointing curry. I would have returned the lot if I wasn't the guest of a group. Waiters are generally attentive, however had to ask on more than one occasion twice, for assistance for various needs (extra drinks, take order, bill...)

Jewel Indian restaurant!! Be treated like a diamond!! 💎 OMG! The most amazing Indian food ever!, fantastic service and courteous staff. Lovely ambiance and obviously lots of regular customers . You cannot compare to any other Indian restaurant! And ! AND they cater for Healthy Eating! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Jewel for such a lovely experience xx

Brilliant food, but was waiting over an hour for our food. Also way too expensive. £20 for 4 diet cokes.

4 of us ate, lovely food, just we felt very rushed, we had only just sat down for Seconds when waiter wanted our drinks order, he returned 60 seconds later and asked again. Not ready we replied. Not offered deserts, think they wanted our table although we had booked for 7pm 4 weeks ago. Would 1000,% go back though

Excellent restaurant, comprehensive menu with lots of choice. Friendly staff, attentive but not pushy, service top class, it’s the small things that make the difference between a good restaurant and an excellent one, plates hot and handled well, hygienic handling of the cutlery!! Ok that’s enough praise for the plates ! Now the dishes that came to the table, crispy popadoms not a hint of greasy or oily ! Chutneys etc lovely, 3 main courses all superb. Without being disrespectful finding an urban small restaurant kind of tucked away in a parade of shops wouldn’t be my first port of call …… but came highly recommended and turned out to be fantastic! Already a pretty busy establishment I understand so booking essential. Highly recommended!

A very enjoyable meal. Very high quality food and good size portions .The service and staff were very attentive. There was plenty of parking outside. I suggest you book in advance as this place was packed on a Wednesday night.

So tonight I was in the large party bringing in over £500 to the restaurant and that was just food, Tbh I was a bit disappointed at the end thinking that we would of got Complementary mints or Drinks like a Bailey's every other restaurant does it, The birthday boy got a bottle of wine, Will I be returning NO And £9.00 for 2 Diet cokes Horrendous price, Cheaper to go to tesco next door,

Absolutely delightful experience at this Indian restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious. Every dish was exceptional, from the flavorful rice to the mouthwatering butter chicken, kebabs, and appetizers. An absolute feast for the senses – I highly recommend trying each delicacy. A culinary journey that exceeded expectations! The ambiance was fantastic, and the place exuded a beautiful and classic charm. The staff was exceptionally friendly. A must-visit! Wonderful evening. A little pricey compared to some other Indian Restaurants, and no children's menu, but a really top quality meal and service!! Highly recommend!

We have just had a really lovely spur-of-the-moment meal there, having not been for several years. We hadn't booked but went early at around 5.30pm and we were the only ones there until it quickly started filling up. Food was very good (and we're quite fussy with Indian food - we have it often). Perfect rice, flavourful curries with tender meat, amazing chutneys with the poppadoms and really fresh naan. All of it was so good. We will 💯 go back, price was around £27 a head including food and drink, and I shared a rice and curry with my daughter. Lovely place, lovely decor, staff were great, can't fault it. Thank you.

Excellent. Staff friendly. Tasty food. Of real note was the redecoration, place looks just amazing. I went with my partner and we had a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable meal. Definitely plan to go back.

What can I say? we booked for 14 people for a Christmas get-together, always unsure with a large group, but my word, the team, worked their socks off to produce a fantastic night , food was excellent, service was 5 star , no complaints from anyone . Thank you.

Food and service was great - FAR better than many places around here. The server did try to clear the table just as I put the last spoonful in my mouth but was apologetic about this... Cannot give five stars because the menu isn't child-friendly (could have nuggets and chips easily) and they didn't have high chairs for babies. Very small criticism! I recommend this place. Thank you again.

Perfect family birthday celebration. The staff were super accommodating when we had a last minute additional 2 for the meal (so last minute we were on poppadoms when they were added) Food was superb & service fantastic

Went there for my works Christmas do. First time I've been in Jewels for years. Everyone's food was amazing and really good size portions. Garlic chilli chicken to die for! Great service and good atmosphere. Will definitely return soon.

Excellent restaurant indien - valeur sûre à Prague - petit conseil, les plats « dits » épicés sont vraiment TRÈS épicés - à réserver aux palets rodés. Sinon Top et service très intentionné 👍🏼

We have been to Jewels a number of times and keep coming back because the food and service are great. The food quality is always excellent and it's perfect for any occasion. I recommend booking a table to ensure you aren't disappointed.

My go to Indian Restaurant. Modern clean friendly staff and amazing curry, they even have a Slimmers version . I usually eat in but have take away once a month. Pity they don’t deliver

Fantastic and unusual curry. Chef’s special I think. Bahar, mint & mango. Huge portion of melt in the mouth lamb. Lovely staff and comfortable restaurant. In my top 5.

Great family meal here. The food and service is outstanding.

Another really enjoyable evening. There were 14 of us in my party and we couldn't fault the service, which was outstandingly good. Amazingly not one person in the group had a bad word to say about their food, which was cooked to perfection and everyone was served their chosen dish at the same time - and it was all piping hot! Well done Jewels.

Hadn’t visited for a while but will be back sooner. An evening with 3 friends, plenty of poppadoms with the chutneys etc. 4 different curries ordered, all tasty and nicely presented. Naans and bhajis also very good. Restaurant was busy at 7 on a Thursday but plenty of staff around and always attentive. Would recommend.

Best Indian restaurant meal I have had. I'm from NZ, and it's hard to believe I've had to fly half way around the world to get a meal like this. It was fabulous in every way, food and service were both exemplary. It was busy so if you want to go, ring and book a table.

Amazing food from the decoration of the plates to the taste. We tried 5 different mains and 5 different starters and it all was incredibly high quality. Add to that the friendly staff and excellent service, definitely in our top 5 restaurants in Southampton.

My favourite curry house. So many options with healthy choices and vegan / vegetarian selection. A service with a smile and a nice restaurant.

Hatten take away gehabt. Leider nicht mein Geschmack, bin anderes indische Essen gewohnt. War nicht ganz mein Geschmack, war aber auch nicht schlecht. Aber für eine Wiederholung reicht es leider nicht aus. Der Salat von meiner family sah echt lieblos aus.

Always a lovely meal at Jewels. Been using this restaurant for over 20 years. I rate it as the best around. Always a warm welcome, and nothing is too much trouble.

Good food, especially if you are with slimming world - there is menu for those who are losing weight, which is a healthier option than the full-fat version. The service was a bit slow, as we visited at a busy time around Xmas with big parties of people in and it was a struggle for the staff to keep up with the demand. Overall, very polite service.

I visit alot of curry restuarants around southampton and Kept being told about this place so thought i would give it a go, my food was amazing couldnt fault it but the people i went with couldnt say the same one found a bone in a butter chicken which is suppose to be fillets and one ordered a korma and it came looking like a coconut soup when telling the young waiter he just smiled and said you ordered the coconut supreme walked off and laughed to the other colleagues like he done it on purpose and nothing was done about it for about 10/15minutes until i assume was the manager that came over about the bone and resolved the situation but wasnt resolved over the korma/coconut supreme the young waiters made us feel unwelcome as they kept coming over to see if we had eaten anything then taken a few steps back to wisper and laugh to another colleague very un proffessional so at this point we got the bill and left. Thanks to the manager for doing what he could to resovle it but i assume the waiter didnt inform the manager that he gave us a different meal then what was said. I wouldnt write it off but i wouldnt run back here when there is alot of more proffesional waiters in other places that are happy to take ownership when in the wrong not laugh and let us sit there with something we didnt order.

I’ve been coming here since they opened in 1997. They were in another league way back when they first opened and they still are today. I have moved around a bit over the years but whenever I come back this is always my first meal out. Its not just the food that is exceptional it’s the whole experience.

JEWEL indeed. Only been in Bitterne Southampton for 3 years and only just discovered this fabulous restaurant. Cannot give it enough stars that it deserves.

A lovely South Asian restaurant in a small shopping precinct in Town Hill, Southampton. Very modern design makes it unusual for the type of food it serves. Extensive menu. Wonderful service. We found this restaurant by accident: very glad we did. Extremely welcoming staff.

Not been here for many years and I won't be returning anytime soon. On arrival it took 15 mins to get a menu, people who arrived after us were already eating starters. We chose the buffet , but nobody told us about this, just that we had seen it online. The mixed starter was horrible, Chicken Chat, I think they spelt that wrong. It was a mush of chicken, the tikka was stale, the poppadoms very frozen and the veg dish was a mess. The onion bhaji was ok.They had forgotten about the poppadoms, we had to ask for them. The curry then came and they were just very poor quality, the chicken was low standard, the beef was so chewy. At least 5 waiters and all but one were clueless. Asda curry is better and that's saying something. Dont do it go elsewhere

The staff are really friendly and welcoming but unfortunately the food is bland. I had Jalfrezi and it was just sauce and chicken, no flavour. Not for us!

I was down the Jewel for my dad's 70th birthday on the 8th April 2022, there was nine of us & not one of us was dissatisfied with the food & the staff was AMAZING, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, its BEAUTIFUL, thankyou all so much for a WONDERFUL evening 👌👌👌
