Open take away kitchen. The food is great, cooked fresh to order and a few new curries to me and a few sides I've never heard of. Had Madras, Jalfrezi, Tikka Massala, Pathia and a few others. All were excellent and can be adjusted to taste if required. Good breads and rice. The guys are great, really friendly and happy yo modify recipes according to taste. The Jalfrezi is nicely spiced, I had on normal and another extra spicy, both excellent. The madras had loads of sauce and well spiced, hot and fragrant with moist chicken. Pathia is also quite spicy with lots of flavour. Chicken tika Massala was plenty of sauce, rich and creamy. Paratha are moist and buttery, nan warm and moist, perfect Peshwari nan! Highly reccomended for a good tasty take away, full of flavour, fresh...

Terrible taste like a shop bought curry, garlic Naan just plain no garlic flavour at all. Don’t recommend this place at all, not sure how it’s got 4.5 star reviews with the quality of the a food being so bad!

Went in ordered currys after 20 min asked why its not cooking, old guy said chief not here yet when he did arrive i said been waiting 20 min he did not care, i said due to wait free bombey potato!!! And he said no i give u 2 free poppadom i said bombey potato or im walking, in 22 years of using them now and then. using them again he is still the same, money orientated, even argued over a bag of salad.

Best Madras for miles by far, trust me I eat them all over the country and here its truly delicious, and when reheated its even better.

Not GOOD, Ordered food on the phone, told it would be 40min, got there not ready for 1 hour 15 minutes. Got home, things missing from the order. CHECK ORDER BEFORE LEAVING SHOP. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!

The Jalalabad has been my Indian take-away of choice for quite a few years now and I can't rate them highly enough. The food is good with decent portions. The staff are friendly, helpful, polite and cheery. Tonight was no different, bowls cleared, no waste. Thank you.

This place was recommended by a good friend of mine and it was the first time for me trying Indian takeaway, I have to say the food is absolutely delicious, the service was quick and nice, I went for the chef’s recommendations which was butter chicken, tikka masala and chicken curry with rice + garlic Nan and plain Nan bread. I will definitely be returning to this place whenever I’m feeling for an Indian takeaway. Very recommended Also the food is Halal

Food is great . Full of flavour. The staff are very friendly and professional. The shop front looks very nice and great to see them cooking. Food tins clean and tidy and not covered in oil . Can't wait to get my next meal. Thanks again.

Food not as good as a few years ago

Best takeaway in the south. When I get the curry itch Jalalabad is the place to go. Food is created fresh and to order. All my years of going to Jalalabad curry house I can safely say I have never had a bad curry. These guys know their stuff.

The chefs and the front of house are very professional. Great cooks! The food is always good. However tonight 25/2/23 a younger chap was standing behind the counter eating a pompadom in one hand and caughing into the other, terrible manner for a restaurant. Then when the food was ready he would use the hand he was caughing into to sprinkile coriander on your curries, I can only imagine some curries had some of his pompadom in there. I've never seen anything like it. If you are going to eat, Go out the back and have food. If he is there next time I won't be ordering unfortunately 😔

Best takeaway in Chandlers Ford. Superb every time.

Really good food but there always seems to be quite a wait even if you ring ahead and order.

We heard good things about this takeaway so gave it a try. Some of the food was nice enough but the Bombay potatoes were raw so were not edible.

Been ordering food from them for years. Tried several other places but in my opinion, they are the best. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Spent £44.on 3starters 3currys 3rices and side's to pick up 6.30 got there 6.20 only to be told lost my order .got it 6.45 all cooked in a hurry . traveled from Romsey to chandlersford Got back home to find cold rice and one curry missing .all I got told was I will be reimbursed . not good enough

Naff. Under spiced meals and boiled chicken which had a weird texture and soggy nann bread. We have used them 3 times now and never again.

Ordered two very different meals but for some reason they tasted almost the same, maybe because when the meal arrived by a delivery man they were crushed

First time of ordering as moved to the area, and can honestly say how lovely the food was tonight. Not greasy tastes so fresh and lovely. Highly recommend.

My regular go takeaway - I've visited may Indian restaurants over the years often whilst working away but handily, the best takeaway is on my doorstep. Excellent food with a deep body of flavours, great consistency of sauces. My go to dish is the Chicken Dhansak and Jalabad's is one of the best I've had. The onion Bhajis are not your typical fayre either - many restaurants' offerings are so identical you begin to wonder whether the are all from the same cash and carry - not Jalabad whose Bhajis are so individual that they are clearly prepared on the premises to their own recipe. And on top of the food is the warm welcome you receive from the staff who really do go the extra mile for you. Last night Deliveroo messed up my order so someone in Bishopstoke enjoyed a free curry (shown as delivered but not to me). I contacted both Jalabad and Deliveroo and in a short space of time there was the owner with a replacement meal - Now that's service. Many thanks gentlemen, really appreciate all your efforts.

If you want to spend your evening waiting for food, average wait two hours if ordering a collection, they don’t start cooking until you arrive and you go to the back of the queue. Horrendous service so therefore your evening is over by the time you get home and the curry is not worth the wait.

Might be a little more expensive than some but you pay for quality and that's what Jalalabad Balti House excells in. I ordered a couple of years ago and the food was exceptional, I ordered again this evening Friday 17th September and the genlteman said ah, you have been here before. Wow, what a memory. This will always be my weekend curry takeaway. Excellent.

Food is good, but they ramp up their prices by 54% when you order for delivery by Deliveroo. I ordered a Jalalabad takeaway from the Deliveroo website and the total cost including delivery (£1.49) and service charge (£2.00) came to £79.99. When I checked the Jalalabad's website, the total cost for the same dishes came to £51.70, albeit without delivery. According to Deliveroo, the prices for Jalalabad's menu on Deliveroo's website is set by Jalalabad. Won't be using them again.

After trying all the local places, have concluded this is the best. Great food, friendly staff, clean open kitchen 👍👍👍

Although I waited an extra 40 minutes on top of the agreed hour wait, I still give these boys 5 stars the food is perfect every time 🤙

Best local Indian Takeaway! Loved their food!

Just had one of the best chicken jalfrezi I've ever eaten. and I ain't joking it was fantastic. I will be using this place again. the flavors the tender chicken.my compliments to the chef absolutely brilliant

Really poor food and order wrong. Having ordered many times and being generally happy with the food I’m aftaid today was really disappointing. Food was about 20 mins late, wrong popadums and when I dished my food up it was surrounded by a watery gravy and really tasteless . Surprising because I’ve always been happy with the food in the past but I have to say tonight was the worst curry I have had in many years. Come on guys don’t let standards drop just because of on line delivery orders!!!!!

Very impressed with the service and taste of food. Food ordered was ready in 15 mins and the curry - Chicken and green chilli is so good , very delicious. Loved the spicy curry.

Had a few takeaways from here but find them more expensive than others and they have a habit of using English cheese instead of paneer. Food is tasty though and veggie options good. Would order again, but not my favourite.

Having been shileding in COVID Pandemic, I have not had a curry from here since August, wow what have i missed.... The amazing flavours and exceptional spicing of the Chicken Dansak, just out of this world. Probably the best curry in UK...

Jalalabad was my favourite Indian restaurant in the area back in 2006-2008. Having moved away around the UK and elsewhere we’re now back in Chandlers Ford. The chicken tikka patia is exactly the same and still awesome 14 years on. These guys know what they’re good at and just keep delivering the best food in town. I’ve tried others but just not as good. Here’s to the next 27 years!

First time ordering from here absolutely amazing food, delivery on time. Lamb madras was spot on lamb very tender garlic naan bread could of been a bit more garlicky other than that no problems Will be ordering again 😀

Really good curry, packed with flavour, rice wasn't a blob of stodge but just fell into individual grains when dispensed onto plate. However, expect to pay around a third more if ordering online and having it delivered.

20 years ago I used to use this takeaway on a regular basis and was top notch, however I recently went back and things have changed a lot, the food has become less flavoursome and the staff look like they have lost a thousand pound and found a tenner, I will not be going back again, but sticking with the best Indian takeaway in town. Amazing indian cuisine, very good value for money and has consitently tasted good. Would highly recommend the chicken kahari, chicken passanda, and lamb bhuna, as well as the samosas. Only problem has been estimates in preparation time, frequentely been underestimated, leading to slightly longer waits, but still worth it

Ordered set meal for four people on a Monday night. There were only three of us, but it was for my dads birthday and didn’t mind going a bit over the top. There was so much food and it was all delicious. Thankfully, it has been the first Indian takeaway I’ve had in a long time where everything has been piping hot. This was our first time eating from this place and definitely won’t be our last. Staff friendly and kitchen very clean.

Never come here on new years eve or a peak busy time. We were told 40 mins approx and ended up being 2 hours, happens a lot on peak days during the week too. Food is always good but if you want a realistic time frame look elsewhere.

The food tastes better than any takeaway I've ever been to. We go out of our way to go to Jalalabad and the pricing is very fair. I would recommend if you like authentic and tasty food!

The best Indian takeaway for miles around - high quality ingredients and good portions. I have been very disappointed with previous eat in or takeaway Indian meals since moving back to the Eastleigh area a couple of years ago. I would go nowhere else now. Staff are very friendly and the kitchen is open so you see the food being prepared as you arrive to collect. Highly recommended !!!

How nice to return from holiday to a fine curry.. try the chicken dansak and bombay aloo.. Well cooked, always fesh, always hot and always served with a smile....

All food and prices good. Mushroom bhaji to die for!Takes quite a while for food to be ready. And, when it comes to unwrapping the food at home, sometimes there’ll be a bhaji or naan bread missing.....too late to do anything about it when you’re already home. Otherwise, would have given 5*

Do yourself a favour, skip reading the menu and just order the Set for 2 for £21.95! It can feed 3 people easily, so well worth the money. Everything was soooo delicious. The lamb melted in the mouth! 5/5 - will be recommending to family & friends.

I've been to a few curry houses and eveytime I go I notice that Madras and food isn't quite as good as the ones I get at Jalalabad. They're nearly always busy on a Friday and sometimes you have to wait 30-40 mins but the curry is worth it. I don't know how they do it and imagine the chefs must be super stressed out trying to keep up, which is probably why they don't do deliveries as the phone would never stop ringing. It's a great little takeaway shop and you can guarantee you'll enjoy it. I used to order a Chicken Madras, mushroom Baji and sag alo every Friday like I was addicted.

Been here twice now in the last six weeks, it’s spot on. Far and above many of the others on the Chandlers Ford / Eastleigh area.The shop is open plan too so you can see them cooking while you wait. No messing around. Tried four different dishes, samosas, bhajis, all excellent.

Always go here , always great , but not tonight , if i want a tomato based order with absolutly no heat i will have an italian , guys have you run out of chillie in that place.

We’ve been using Jalalabads for our Indian takeaway for years and swear by it. The customer service is always great, you’re always welcomed with a friendly smile and it’s always a good thing when you can watch the meals being cooked. We have tried numerous different dishes over the years, all taste divine and the portion sizes are very generous. Would recommend it without hesitation!

We have an Indian takeaway once a month and have being going to Jalalabad for years (occasional competitor if with friends, but we always come back) The open kitchen so you can watch the food being cooked is a great feature

Great little takeaway that punches above its weight with a warm friendly welcome guaranteed. The food is of a high quality with nothing hidden here, you watch everything being freshly prepared and cooked. Wonderful sizzling sounds accompanied by a wall of spicy aroma - perfect. I've been here for my takeaway a few times, food is always great. I miss having a pint while I wait though but now there's the nearby brewhouse bar newly opened I can see me combining the events and the Jalalabad becoming a regular treat!

I’ve been using this great takeaway for years and they’ve never let me down. Chicken Muli is my “go to” dish but their whole menu is top class. I’ve even asked them for some food “off menu” in the past which they’ve been happy to, successfully, put together. Best I’ve found. Happy to recommend

Best Indian takeaway this side of India!

We ordered a meal for 4 and it was lovely, piping hot, great flavours.friendly staff too always a bonus.

I have been going to this Indian takeaway for years and would never go anywhere else. The cooking standard is extremely high. Being boring, I always get the same order but it is always consistent with it’s taste and portion size. Always have a generous amount of meat in my chicken korma, and they have great customer service. Absolutely amazing.
