I was looking for a place to have breakfast at 8 am in basingstoke , seems like this was the only place decent serving breakfast so early in the morning !! The breakfast was amazing , but the best part about the whole experience was being served by ELIA , amazing women very Polite and totally into her job ready to go out of the way to make u happy with the meal !! I was very delightfully impressed with her and sneaked her name off her badge , I would recommend this place to any person who wants a nice breakfast and have the pleasure of being served by her . If the hotel administration reads this they definitely need to give her a tap . Also a value for money 8.5 £ for a buffet breakfast with the choice of omelette / poached / scrambled eggs , tea- coffee and juices is a steal !! MUST GO !!

My wife and I decided to give a try to Squires Restaurant. It was quiet (only 3 others dining at the time) so the staff, quite pleasant, were not overly rushed. As a starter we went for the 3 tapas, two whitebait which were quite pleasant, my order of potted shrimps came disguised as battered prawns (I quite like these so did not complain). For mains my wife ordered turkey escalope with chestnut couscous cake, the waiter arrived "sorry no turkey is chicken O.K." we said yes. Moments later, waiter arrived "sorry no couscous", would rice and some veg. be O.K., again we said yes. I ordered tenderloin of pork (should say non tenderloin)), Dauphinoise potatoes, first time I have had them served in the form of a layered cube and mustard sauce (well it was yellow). Did we leave a tip ?????
