Blazing Bird in Basingstoke and Deane

This is one of our favourite branches of Las Iguanas and when we met a friend for lunch there last Friday (11 April) we were delighted to find there was a new menu and one of my boyfriend's former Las Iguanas faves, Xinxim, was back on the menu. Food was delicious as always and we had stellar service from Amy F

Have been a few times and each experience has been slightly varied, but always positive. However, me and my partner went for christmas bottomless brunch (2024) and were served by Amy who was absolutely fantastic. Given the incredibly busy time of year, we were expecting (and fine with) service being a bit slower but Amy was completely on the ball and so attentive, and was a major part in our experience. She deserves a raise! The food is always amazing, cocktails are yummy and it’s a fun day out.

Incredible food, warm atmosphere and top notch service. I would like to mention our server Gabriel was very attentive and took the time to serve our table as soon as we were ready and genuinely made an effort to ensure we were completely happy during our meal and drinks. Coming here is such a treat!

We ordered and, an hour or more later, no food had arrived. We complained and the third employee that we spoke to admitted that there was chaos in the kitchen with the new cook. They had lost our order once so he had put it in again, this time printed out on paper, but they had then lost it again. So, given that they had still not even started preparing our food, we just left, starving hungry and with an elevated parking bill. Never, ever, will I ever (not ever) go near any Las Iguanas again. Appalling incompetence.

I visited las iguanas with two friends last night as a small celebration 🎊. Artur was our waiter for the night and asked what we were celebrating, I told him I was getting married in a few weeks and he congratulated me and we spoke a little bit about it. He made the night a wonderful one by sharing anecdotes and making sure our food and drinks arrived in timely manner. He checked in on us occasionally to see if we needed anything which was much appreciated. Artur was very attentive and just great all round. The food and drinks were also really great. We will definitely be back and would recommend to others!

We had a great evening we hadn't all seen each other for ages. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The food was spot on and the cocktails were fab.

We had a fantastic time today at Las Iguanas Basingstoke. We booked online for the current offer of 90mins of unlimited tapas for £19.95 (normally £25)! We were not disappointed! Apart from one dish (the calamari popcorn) we enjoyed every single dish, all freshly cooked and prepared! Our waiter Tyler was attentive without being pushy and made the experience even better. We went at a funny time (3pm) so we were the only people there, however we been made feel welcomed and not rushed at all! Tyler gave us enough time to enjoy and finish our dishes before coming back to take the next order. There were 4 of us so we could order 6 dishes at a time which was enough. I could not fault anything, it was just the squid popcorn that was not to our taste! Will definitely come again as even at the full price of £25 this is a great deal 😋

Special mention to Arthur who was very attentive, and chased up our mains before we even mentioned it.

Visited with my wife on a Friday afternoon for a bottomless brunch, was reasonably busy. Service was brilliant. Drinks were amazing, cocktail list was great, all made perfectly and arrived quickly after ordering, food was amazing and again arrived quickly after ordering, Amy F was fantastic, couldn't have asked for more, had more cocktails at the bar after our brunch. Overall was and excellent experience and will definitely be doing another one soon, highly recommended!!

Very slow service. When we arrived staff member was nice and took us to table. Young lady who took our drinks orders was nice, but from there it started to go down the hill. It took 3hrs or even more to have our starter and main served, if we wouldn't be looking around and waving it would take even longer. My food was lukewarm, friends chimichangas and fajitas was missing sour cream (no one even warned us about it) we had to ask about it to learn it. I've been in other Las Iguanas restaurants and haven't had any issues and food was much better.

Went for a bottomless brunch and had the best service, drinks were bought around quickly along with food. Fiza was very accommodating, we had the best experience!

Visited Las Iguana in January of this year for a daytime birthday meal with the family, 3 kids and 5 adults - have always frequented Las Iguana’s as it’s a personal favourite spot of ours, especially the Westfield centre one. Anyway, from start to finish, it was absolutely terrible! The service was dead slow in what was an overcrowding restaurant and to make matters worse there was only 3 people on the kitchen….3…!!! The food took forever to arrive and when you’ve got 3 children who were visibly and audibly hungry and bored, it made matters worse - only when the food arrived, the matters become even more worse! Some of the dishes were served cold bevause they’d sat on top of the counter for ages and others were burnt! - kids burgers, burnt! It wouldn’t have mattered so much but because we’d waited for what seemed a lifetime and hunger was getting the better of everyone, it just ruined the whole experience. We’d spent in total I think over +2.2hours. I’ve never tasted such bland and poorly cooked in a Las Iguanas before, ever! Sadly, this was the second time we’d experienced this at the same branch - if this isn’t resolved quickly, we’ll probably be looking at another closed and empty store!

Had a great time at Las Iguanas, they have bottomless tapas this January for £15 so came withy girl and had a great time. Amy M was out server and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, had everything we needed and was very attentive, everything arrived swiftly and I couldn't be happier with the service, thanks Amy. Will be back soon for sure.

food was delicious, however the wait was incredibly long. I am actually still here waiting. For my food as i got bottomless tapas. In the space of 3 hours i’ve had 2 plates and are still waiting for my third and that isn’t even the desert. 45+ minutes for each dish is just so unreasonable especially if you have kids, plenty of people have left due to long wait. This may be because it is a friday night however this is just not ideal. Although the drink selection is very good.

Our waitress Erin was really nice. She made sure that my friends and I were fine during the whole experience. However, at some point one of the supervisors came over to our table, at the start he was checking if everything was alright with the food and drinks we were having. Nevertheless, he then started to ask random, and mostly inappropriate, questions like if we were single or married, our ages, why did we come to the restaurant, etc. At some point he even asked where we worked and it got to a point of asking one of my friends up to 4 times the name of the exact place where she works. All these was making us feel clearly uncomfortable but he didn't seem to notice/mind it. To be honest it felt like when a creepy guy approaches you in a club, which it's something we wouldn't expect having to tolerate in a restaurant.

An amazing bottomless brunch experience this weekend, with incredible service from Artur, we will definitely be returning thank you !!!

We was served by artur at las igunas today, was the best experience! we did the bottomless tapas, our server kept us topped up and was absolutely amazing! The food was to die for and I have left the resteraunt full 💯 would come back time and time again for artur he is a credit to the company, not forgetting Chris serving so much food to us working very hard and Rachel on the bar who made the best drinks! I've been coming here for years as a customee and everything was generally ok. Now I occacionally do deliveries on my free time and whenever i'm there to collect orders the host/manager a bold guy in his 40s always very rude and arrogant. Cero customer service and almost feels as if he looks down at people who are delivering orders. Disgusting behaviour if you ask me. Not coming here as a customer again.

Arrived at 20:05 for all you can eat tapas by 20:40 no one had taken our order. You only get 90 mins, by 20:50 we had already lost 50 mins no food decided not worth it so finished drinks and left

Had a very pleasant meal for my daughter’s birthday. It was very tasty ( especially my beef burger ) and wasn’t bad value especially after the app vouchers and offers were taken off. The guy that served us ( Gabo ) was really friendly and professional. Excellent service 😎👍

Me and my girlfriend popped into las iguanas after the cinema. And we’re pleasantly surprised with the quality of the authentic Mexican burritos, and the wonderful service. This was our first time eating in las iguanas and didn’t really know what to expect, however it was a lovely meal. Erin was our waiter and ensured that everything on the table was good. And provided us with great service all evening.

We had a great experience in Iguanas Basingstoke. Food was great, but what stood out was very service. David was very helpful and friendly. He ensured we were happy with our order and helped us choose what we wanted too. Top marks for David, thank you again.

Went there for a bite to eat over lunch after a Christmas Carols concert in the Malls. The food was nice, with generous portions. I ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail that was delicious, refreshing abs the ideal complement to the spicy food. Our waiter, David, was super efficient and friendly. I'd certainly go back.

We came for a meal yesterday and the restaurant was overcrowded and the staff were clearly overwhelmed! The food was taking far too long to come out and took around an hour to be served our mains after the starter was finished only for half the food to be cold and still members on the table waiting to be served as others were finishing! The tables were not cleared and still had empty mains plates on our table while we were served our puddings! At one point in the night a customer was sick in the bar area and it was poorly cleaned and essentially pushed to the sides and hidden under paper towels and was still there when we left! I really do feel for the food service industry at this time of year but the restaurant clearly overbooked and didn’t have the staff to deal with it!

We went last night for a work meal for Christmas, we were waiting for around 3 hours for all courses to be served, the starter took 45 minutes to come out then the main took 1 hour and we waited about the same for dessert, I think it took so long I aged 20 years. The food was ok but some come out cold. Also, someone was sick by the entrance and was left under blue paper towels. This was disgusting as I nearly regurgitated my meal for the staff. In all, a very disappointing experience as we traveled 2 hours to get there, the bonus was though that we got to spend time with our work colleagues.

The service was so slow, we arrived at 19:30 and it took two hours to get our main course and they had actually closed the restaurant by the time they bought out the dessert and then we felt rushed. They didn't put enough tables out for our number of guests. Drink service was extremely slow. The worst part is it was all pre-booked, even down to the food choices weeks before and they were still so slow and under prepared. They had way overbooked themselves, it was loud, could hardly hear anything. There wasn't much food. Only four chunks of seafood in my main. One very skinny Churro in the dessert. It was all just really disappointing. They wouldn't tell us what was in the welcome drink because it was "made up". Someone from another table was sick all over the floor and the staff left it there covered in blue roll. Wouldn't recommend booking anything here.

My friend and I love Las Iguanas anyway and the Basingstoke restaurant did not disappoint. From the manager to the stuff, the service and the food and drink, our experience was fantastic and extremely enjoyable

OMG WOW … what an incredible experience! I was taken out for dinner by my partner tonight to Las Iguanas in Basingstoke we haven’t eaten here since just after Covid and wow! Las have really upped there game! New menu , new cocktails, the staff were on point, what an incredible experience! Our servers tonight were Celeste and Amy, they really made our evening so much more enjoyable! Not only were they attentive, they suggested trying some of there new dishes along with one of there new cocktails! Wow … both suggestions blow us away! Las have certainly invested time a money into there business and menu to excite the customers palates once again! We will most definitely be dining again at las in the very near future!

Went in Thursday 10th October before going to the Anvil. Allowed lots of time to get food and have a drink. All 2 of the staff (one young lad doing the drinks and one young lady waitress) were under pressure trying to serve. While waiting patiently for our food there was a surprising amount of delivery people constantly coming and going and none of the diners actually sitting in were getting any food. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes then started putting our coats on to leave. The poor waitress couldn't apologise enough. We didn't pay for the drinks and left. Shame on the management leaving 2 members of staff in that position and giving priority to the delivery services. We definitely won't be back.

Only 2 people on the floor with one of them in particular, fairly clueless about things. Seem to be more interested in fulfilling Deliveroo / Just Eat orders. Food took a while to come and was easily the worst I've had at Las Iguanas. Avoid this place as there are plenty of other options in the vicinity.

Good cocktails, if a little too much ice. Staff are always pleasant but the food continually lets the place down. Everything looks reheated and congealed. Won’t be back for food, however I hear the brunch is good!

We decided on trying the evening brunch for the 1st time and were really impressed with the service we received despite the restaurant being really busy. Amy our sever was really friendly and kept our drinks flowing nicely. A really lovely impromptu night out, great food and cocktails!

Very slow service tonight, though not the fault of the only waitress. Food was atrocious - a watery curry that I should have refused, but didn't have time to wait for it to be redone. Kitchen too busy with takeaway orders. Will not return and would not recommend.

Went for bottomless brunch for my 22nd birthday. My boyfriend and I were served by Gabriel, he was absolutely amazing!! Knowing that bottomless brunch was only a 2 hour booking, he gave us up to an hour extra onto our time. As well as giving us 2 drink servings each every order rather than just the one. Really great service Thank you

Family meal for 8 people for a birthday. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time to choose drinks and food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice selection of cocktails and mocktails for the younger members or designated drivers. Everyone was full up . Will definitely visit again. There were veggie and gluten free meals available

Went with work colleagues after a training day. Workplace could not cover cost of alcohol and some guests were not drinking so asked to pay separately “as you go” for drinks to simplify service and get served drinks more quickly. First was advised could order from the bar (paid and was served), was then told no bar service. All a bit confusing but eventually drinks were served okay if you caught a server to ask. Loads of choice cocktail wise and great that you get 2-4-1 but they could be stronger. Best (and strongest) I tried were the reliable Mai Tais. Staff friendly and good food.
