Good food in generous portions at a reasonable price

The food was legit. I ordered a large sweet chilli chicken and rice meal as my takeout which cost £8.79, but I could have asked for extras such as can of drink and a healthy salad.

This is the worst Kokoro I have been to. The food was cold and was not filled to the top. It was also far too dry and unappetising. The staff were rude (not just to me but others around as well). Both were equally as rude. I am not sure they are fit to be running this place on their own. I am happy to say it was my last ever visit to Kokoro's.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEE KOKORO !!! KOKORO is the BEST restaurant EVER. although, the prices have increased a bunch but considering how much chicken or whatever they give you, I’d say it’s worth it! Plus - it’s soo good!! All the workers are very friendly and the environment is a quiet and peaceful place. Perfect for you and your friends or family to hang! Super underrated place, please come and share the enjoyment. This is NOT an exaggeration, KOKORO literally lifts my mood and gives me life 😭😭❤️❤️

The food here is amazing and they are very giving with their portion too. The staff is always so friendly and service is speedy. The atmosphere is simple and very clean.

Ordered cake for delivery at 13:52 with an expected delivery time of 14:20 at 16:51 it has still not arrived!! Terrible experience! Don’t use this store.

Ordered a small katsu curry and asked for the same size but Seafood Udon so she made a second chicken katsu. When I said I'm really sorry we don't want 2 katsu we wanted 1 as seafood udon she then proceeded to chargw us for all 3 meals for her mistake? Not really sure how that works from a customer service perspective but hey. It's 7pm there was no line so it's not like she was busy and therefore distracted. Food was good though

Food is good and you get LOADS of it. Service is always quick and efficient even with huge queues. They always seem to top up their food right on time. The seating is limited and not great. id recommend to just take out but works as an awkward pitstop if between shops.

Having staff coughing constantly behind the counter is not acceptable even if they wear a mask. Pay them sick leave and get cover. Can't get cover? Close the shop. Absolutely disgusting that profits are put ahead of public health.

The quality of food went really down. Portion sizes also have been changed - decreased - regular box looks more like a small!. The service, at least in Basingstoke is really bad for some time now. They put the slowest person in front of the house, while the queue is huge. This is not the first time. I was disappointed as we were buying food there often.

I liked the food, service, I just don't really like eating in restaurants outside, where all visitors pass by.

The salmon in the sushi was so little as I couldn’t even taste it… no value for money as there was none to less meat in the food, to be honest I would prefer Chopstix next door for value for money…the only good thing about the restaurant is that there is more good restaurants around it…

The food was too expensive for the price. The service was terrible. The atmosphere should be better. There are better places to eat Asian food.

Best place to eat in Basingstoke imo

I ordered sushi on Deliveroo and TO BE HONEST; for the small amount of salmon in the roll; it felt more like an avocado roll. I've noticed Kokoro at Surbiton station handles this better. Additionally, charging extra for sauce seems unnecessary; usually, one sauce should be included with the order. Quite disappointing.

Nice food, but a little expensive for what you get

Me and my girlfriend ordered on Deliveroo and are both vegetarians. Today we ordered avocado sushi with vegetable gyōzas. They sent us salmon sushi with shrimp gyozas. This is not the first time they've sent us meat or fish when we've ordered vegetarian dishes.

Do not do deliveroo they constantly miss off sauces and send out soup without the water in. Done it twice now its an absolute joke

Overall not good. I opted for the beef bulgogi - a dish I’ve had from various places before and Kokoro’s one wasn’t that nice. The beef used was dry and gristly and the flavour wasn’t there. A good bulgogi is rich and sweet - this one was almost flavourless. There are a couple of positives - good portion sizes and good customer service. But having left half of my meal I sadly cannot recommend this place and I don’t plan to return.

Missing food after 55 minutes of waiting and told they wouldn’t drop them off or refund as the restaurant is closing. Disgraceful service.

Go there if you want to eat plastic and be served with total disrespect and rude staff. Been twice and never again, tastless, not fresh and rubbery food. Feels like you are eating plastic. On top of that the Asian women serving there is rude, impatient and very disrespectful. She needs to learn etiquettes she is in UK and not in Asia. Totally appalling. I felt like cancelling my food. Very bad experience twice. Not returning. Overly priced for bad food and terrible service.

Wish there was an option to give a zero for service. The staff are extremely rude, waited at the front of the queue for 20 minutes or so before my order was taken. The staff seemed to be great at ignoring me. My old mum waited beside me all this while. You lost a regular customer sorry to say Kokoro Basingstoke. When I asked when my order will be taken a rude staff on the counter said very busy today. That was the only explanation I got. Shameful and pathetic to say the least.

Was excited to try this place and was disappointed. Ordered beef bulgogi and sweet and sour chicken with noodles. The bulgogi was extremely dry and have a funny smell and was lacking the true bulgogi flavor and sweetness. The chicken was mushy but flavor was okay. The noodles were terrible and sadly it’s more than half the dish so most of it was wasted because the noodles are such bad quality, mushy and bad flavor, it just wasn’t edible. Wish I could get my money back.

I used to order regularly from there and I liked it a lot. But, today when I bought noodles, they have changed the type of noodles which they used to sell and it's really disappointing that it have affected the quality of the dish .

From 1st July only card payments, I used to go there regularly but from now on it's not my list. Another business joining digital money dictatorship well not a customer anymore.

I usually order from Kokoro quite a lot so honestly I want to give them a 5 star review because it really deserves it, however latest news I’ve heard has left me sad. They decided to change their noodles to noodles that are similar to super noodles. You really could say my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Sad to see this go down considering it was my favourite takeaway to go to.

For me they have the best chicken katsu curry. Good price, good food. Mostly all the times is busy, easy to know the reason.

Usually the food is delicious and never fails me however, this fresh hot batch was very watery and wasn't as satisfied as I would usually be. Just not enough sauce and not very sweet or sour.

Always really nice food. Quite often busy so don't count on being seated there, however. Not an issue though, there are plenty of other places to enjoy the quality food elsewhere.

Great place. Delicious Food. Expensive and slow service especially during lunch hour. The taste is not at all authentic, however does the job. Definitely not for students as it can be pocket heavy, noticed that product of the same brand and flavour are available at a cheaper price and portions are small. Will definitely be here again, only for the fried pumpkin salad.

As usual, the food is excellent. This one is within a busy shopping centre so it lacks atmosphere as it's not the kind of place you meet up with friends for lunch.

Travelled from Andover for Kokoro as a treat. Usually the food is great and this is why I travel so far. But this time between received warn food, mediocre food, poor service and being ripped off by your staff member... I will not be coming back to your restaurant. Unforfutuanlty has left me felt not welcomed after spending a bit of money. Will be taking this further with the local authority and food hygiene.

Delicious and generous portions. Similar to the chain Wasabi but much wider selection of hot dishes and much more generous portions. Excellent value.

Similar to Wasabi and Itsu. Japanese fast food. Ready made sushi and hot food (on the premises). Bottled soft drinks. Some indoor seating with air con. Tables could be cleaner. Prices fair. Food is fair. Nothing offensive but not special either.

I love the food here, especially Katsu chicken curry with rice is my favourite one. Even there is an option for mix and match.

I have had kokoro a few times and the food is always lovely. However the service is not so great. This last time that I visited, I stood at the till waiting to order, for a good 10 minutes, being completely ignored by all of the staff. They just looked at me and continued chatting amongst them selves and one even glanced up from playing on their phone and then carried on scrolling their phone. After this I didn't even order and just walked out. I was literally the only customer in there at this time.

By far, the most epic Chicken Katsu you'll find in Basingstoke. Chicken is so fresh, and with the rice, it's a perfect match.

Can't go wrong with their Katsu Curry. Out of this world.

Consistent place to go for that fast and familiar meal that will get you through the day. Not much variety and no seasonal offers, but you know what you get and the price is good.

Staff have always been exceptionally helpful. Food is always great quality, both the sushi and the sweet chilli chicken.

Amazing food. We ordered a large portion of noodles and sweet chilli chicken for takeaway. The quantity was sufficient for 2 adults. The taste was really good.

Staff friendly and Covid safe. Clean and well kept. Generous food portions which tasted delicious. Table we sat at was not wiped off, I had a tissue so used that. All in All a delicious meal.

Amazing experience the sushi is so tasty and nice! A Thai restaurant that sells Thai, Japanese, Malaysian, and British food and drink. Talk about collaborative eating. I love this chain. I had the Katsu curry, but they also do sushi and things like spring rolls and Thai noodles. I also came back and got the sushi. Delicious! A vast improvement over other sushi options.

Just has a £53 delivery from Kokoro Basingstoke and what should have been Teriyaki chicken with Sweet Chilli chicken and Noodles turned out to be Boiled chicken with Spaghetti mixed in ketchup!!!!!!! Tried to call, Restaurant had closed. WORST SERVICE EVER. DON’T BOTHER ORDERING FROM THESE GUYS, STANDARD HAS DROPPED TO THE FLOOR.

Love Kokoro food! The all salmon sushi box, chicken katsu curry with noodles and salmon teriyaki with noodles are my favourites. I recently found out there is a mix&match option where you can add two choices per your rice/noodles. Currently well presented for covid 19 with screens and staff wearing face covers. Available also on deliveroo but more expensive, worth just popping in for collection

I love their food n i love their price. Its not horrendously expensive like next door Chi restaurant. Thejr katsu chicken is lovely except on Friday lunch time, their katsu sauce tasted very much water down so was dissappointed.
