Do not order online they have your money then turn up if and when they want strange they know your number and address and can't give a curtesy call. Second time no more order hasn't even been cooked after waiting for an hour an a half they haven't even got the bottle to apologise i know were you live

The sweet an sour chicken balls had thin soft batter. The house special fried rice, had hard under cooked vegetables, tuff in edible beef, bland and tasteless. The Chicken chow main was tasteless. Sorry to say, the best was the complimentary prawn crackers. Needless to say I won't be returning.

Our takeaway started off well with the food arriving early and it was hot. The mixed starter was very tasty and my husband enjoyed his soup, but it was a bit thicker than he likes it. But it still was ok. The mixed veg Chow Mein was disgusting and tasted weird. We each sampled our main courses and only had a few mouthfuls before we both decided that we disliked them so much that we couldn't eat them and threw them away. After about 5 minutes, both of our stomachs started swelling up like very overdue pregnant ladies. Very uncomfortable. Think we've had a reaction to something in the food and the food tasted of chemicals. Not nice.

It was fabulous tasty food and plenty of it! Big portion size. Very good value for money. Would highly recommend! Delivered hot and on time

Staying local to Queens Street for a wedding. Tried this restaurant as was starving after a stressful journey down the M3/M27. Amazing food; really hot and so tasty and arrived well within the delivery window. 100% recommend and will definitely order again when staying local.

Me and my boyfriend eat from here maybe once a fortnight and it's the best Chinese ivr had outside of China. I don't usually like prawn toast but theirs is so delicious and about an inch thick. Everything is always hot, salt and pepper chips are the best I've ever had. It's so good and they're always so nice and polite. I'm actually writing this review right now because their closed and I'm hungry and only fancy New China food. I'm not fat either by the way.

Was on the lookout for a new Chinese takeaway,so after hearing good things about New China we decided to give it a try.well one thing I can definitely say is I think we have found are new favourite Chinese takeaway.All food taste amazing and fresh and always arrives pipping hot.The sweet n Sour Chicken balls were a personal favourite of ours and a must on every order.Delivery is always reasonable and staff are always very helpful.

The food doesn’t taste weeks old like most Chinese’s I have had, I think it’s a very underrated chinese. I won’t go anywhere else from now on.

We eat Chinese several times a month and typical go to different venues all over. We never give more than a four star so hope the New China carry on with the fantastic service and food. We ordered chicken balls, a large curry with egg fried rice, a chow mein and salt and Pepper chicken, all of which were faultless. The chicken balls were very filling with good quality chicken wrapped in a perfect batter. The salt and pepper chicken had a really nice kick to it without being over powering, the chow mein wasn't full of dark soy sauce and was subtle without lacking flavour and the curry was a great mix of vegetable and good quality meat served with a lovely egg fried rice. I would recommend this venue to anybody. My fiancée is a very fussy eater and even she was blown away by the food. WELL worth the wait!

Nos llamó a las 7:15 y nos dijo: ¿pueden venir a recogerlo porque hemos recibido más pedidos, por lo que hay un retraso más largo en su pedido? ¿Por qué no priorizar los pedidos que llegaron primero?Dijimos que esperaríamos sin problema. Recibí una llamada nuevamente diciendo que por favor puede cancelar su pedido porque habrá otros 40 minutos de espera.Servicio horrible

The duck was absolutely amazing !! The portion sizes are very generous and 100% worth the price you pay. We will be returning again. Thankyou for staying open during these difficult times :)

Very good takeaway offering a large menu. Large tasty portions with fast delivery service, bang on time.

Since Tangs closed it has been difficult to find a decent Chinese Take Away. We normally have Indian Take aways but since we started going here we are having more and more. We have recommended this take away to friends and they have gone back to! The king prawns are great!

We enjoyed the takeaway food but frustrating that you can only pay cash. We would have food from there again.

Authentic, traditional Chinese cuisine. The crab & sweetcorn soup is delicious. The Peking duck is moist & flavoursome. The portions are large & the prices are good value. We shall certainly be making another order in the near future.

Really didn't enjoy it. The main courses were too sweet to eat - think chicken szechuan with the sweetness of banana fritters. Vegetables were crispy but no compensation for the sugar. Cash only, no cards. Don't think I'll be back in a hurry.

We booked our take away via their website and it wasn't 1000% percent obvious it had been successful. So we called them to find it had all worked perfectly and we could expect order to be ready on time. Delucious food, plentiful meat in the meat dishes, none of it appearing to swim in oil. Really, really enjoyed it and looking forward to an excuse to return.

Never had a bad takeaway from spicy house and the hygiene rating is 5 which is pretty hard to find for a Chinese in Portsmouth! The wait was an hour which is pretty standard for a Chinese. Delivery drivers always polite. We normally order a mixture between rice noodles, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong, garlic prawns, mixed hors d'oeuvres, chicken with ginger and spring onion, BBQ ribs, chicken balls, prawn balls (not all in the same night) meat is always tender and fresh and the dishes aren't greasy. Always arrives nice and hot and on time! We love spicy house ❤️

On holiday in Southsea & got a take away meal for four. We all really enjoyed the lovely fresh food & the friendly service. Between the four of us we ordered quite a selection from the menu & it was all good.

Went for a take away during my dinner break while working and had to bin the food. Thought about keeping it and taking it back but the burnt food smell was so awful I coudn't even keep it near. Seriously WORST FOOD EVER and money straight to bin.

I only used Spicy House as my local take away was closed. The set meal I had was superior than anything I'd had locally. Spicy House will now be my 'go to' place for a take away in Southsea. Thank you.

We have a takeaway regularly from here and it's always tasty and fresh it also does half portions on some items, good value for money

Don't be put off by the location or the kerb side appeal. Very good Chinese food and good value. Salt and Pepper Squid was good as were the dry ribs which were enormous and full of meat. Definitely a good place for a Chinese takeaway.

El mejor restaurante Chino en Portsmouth! La comida es deliciosa y excelente servicio. Muy recomendado, especialmente el arroz frito de Singapur!
