Truly Local favourite curry house. Friendly service. Been loyal customer for 10 years. Amazing food. Great presentation.

I have been to spices before and had a good experience so we decided to go back , got there at 630pm after multiple requests to order food our orders were taken at 8pm , each time we asked for a Coke they tried to bring cobra beers , finally we ate and the food was ok to be fair . We then had a birthday cake brought out which was purchased by us from a shop and on the box we took the cake out to decorate it was fine . When the cake was brought out it was COVERED in ants , inside and out of the cake , we all felt sick immediately ruining the whole night , we decided to pay the bill but said we would not pay the £30 they tried to charge us for poppadoms. All in all a bad experience for a joint birthday

I went to collect my phone order and found, a big disgusting smelly DOG sitting inside, at the entrance. There was no way to enter inside without passing the smelly dog close to people eating, shocking! The food I ordered was the worst I ever had.

Made reservation online and requested a highchair. Had to wait for confirmation of our reservation but when we got there we were told they had no highchairs. We asked for a jug of water for the table to be told they have no jugs. Food was ok but they were unprepared and were arranging tables when we arrived. We felt rushed to finish as they were eager to clear our plates but waited a long time to receive our bill. I do t think we will bother returning here again

Always lovely. Had chicken pasanda and butter chicken. Very garlicky naan n plain naan. Pilau rice. BFC’s and pickle tray. Couple of cobra. Bloody lovely. As usual. Staff always polite and welcoming. Can’t fault it. Sorry no pics, empty plates.

We went to the Elvis night on boxing day and since we had a lot of Indian vegetarians with us, We had arranged not to have the set menu. they really crammed in people, we could barely move in our seats. The food was absolutely the worst we’ve ever eaten. The chicken chaat resembled nothing like a normal chaat and was like red mush. Chicken Tikka was 4 cubes of cold and hard chicken. The onion Bhaji was greasy. the poppadoms were cold and we had to ask for chutneys. The roti looked like a naan . And actually the naan was the only edible thing. Aside from us and Steve Singh the only other Asians in the gaff were the waiters. Clearly these other folk have never had a proper Indian meal, as the glowing reviews are totally misleading. Avoid

Always very good food some of the best in the area especially if you like hot dishes. Always a very good atmosphere for a curry house As well.

Friendly attentive staff and really tasty food. I had vegetarian options and as we were in a group the food just kept coming. Definitely one of the best I’ve had!

Worst mixed grill No mint sauce or chutney. Naan bread crap I had to throw in the bin Unedible Swimming in grease I think it had been reheated

What a wonderful evening, a mixture of leaving party and get together for 16 of us. The whole evening was totally magical, food, service, ambience absolutely brilliant, the restaurant was busy and had a wonderful atmosphere. Excellent value for money, everyone had a brilliant time, the food is absolutely superb, many of the group said it was the best Indian food they had ever had, we are already planning to have our Christmas get together back here x

The restaurant itself is nice and parking is available nearby. The food was good as well. The portions were bigger than we expected. Most restaurants give 2 samosas as starters and they gave 4, for example. The mains were also very good portions and the food taste great. We left totally full up. I knocked off a couple of marks because of the service. It felt rushed. For example we had just sat down. Would you like poppadoms? Sure..... what drinks? Emm we'll just have a look at the drinks menu for a moment...and the waiter immediately starts reciting all the drinks quickly in an annoyed voice and expected us to choose one right there. Very rude. We had sat down 10 seconds earlier but can't look at the menu for a moment. The restaurant is not very big and its usually busy so they seem to want to get customers in and out as quickly as possible. Wouldn't consider that to be a relaxing experience for customers - more like a mcdonalds drive-thru. Some waiters were nice but others really need to improve on their customer service - almost to the point of being rude. We'll most likely try elsewhere next time.

We have a boat at Windsor and make regular trips down river to Hampton Court, making a point of mooring one night in Datchet ...ONLY in order to have dinner at Spices Indian Cuisine. The food is truly excellent and the service impeccable. Stephen Burstin

We have been coming to Spices for at least 15 years now, after first discovering it when working nearby. It quickly became a work entertaining favourite, then a couples favourite and then a firm favourite for the whole family including grandparents. Love the attentive service. Favourite dishes are the amazing onion bhajis, lamb rogan josh, tiger prawn achari and peshwari naan. Highly recommended

I hardly ever post on TripAdvisor but feel compelled after this experience at SPICES in Datchet Visited this so called restaurant on Sunday evening.....service levels are shocking!!!!!!! Waiters seated us in darkest table in an empty Restaurant. We ordered drinks, poppadums’ and chutneys and then moved onto the starters which took 30 mins to arrive, this is after speaking to the waiter who was rushing us 7.15pm to order to mains at the same time to save time!!!!!!!!!!!! We said no we here for relaxing meal and want to take our time …..anyhow he didn’t have no clue or manners and did not even know what was in the mixed grill????? Then the starters arrived burnt meat!!!!! and a side salad which we never ordered! Sly staff tactics. Then whilst half through my starter the useless waiter turned up asking for us to order our mains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man how about asking how is your starters! Oh yes the meat is burnt can you not see? Then final straw unbelievable..... went to order mains....and although we were not happy and our 7-year wanted to leave we needed to eat an meal of something as it was around 8.30pm! Anyhow we ordered a chicken/ lamb mince dish and 3 naans and another side salad…..and the waiter was like just one dish….can you order more as we have costs and to make more money! That was it I told him ….we 2 adult and a 7 year who need eat and make an exit….that is plenty and I have never been spoken to like that by any restaurant staff ever you lack manners completely and given I have an issue with you get your manager now! The waiter came back around and said everything is ok I just spoke to manager and he fine with it? I was like ‘You what fine with what?”…..at that point we already decided to pay up and leave asap (yes they would have spat or do something to our food I am sure)…we just said bill now! The waiter took his sweet time and called our to another waiter who witness this all and brought over the manager - who asked me what has happened? I was like ask him (pointing at the useless waiter), has he not told you what is going on? The manager said no nothing? I said ‘So he is lying now to you too! What a Show or stupidity! The manager briefly spoke to the useless waiter in Bengali and apologised continually and added that it was his fault for not being there (evidently, he does not trust that useless waiter too). We paid in full for the starter and what we had to drink/ eat - never been so insulted ever My wife noted and overheard another couple complaining about the service and food too…….maybe they left soon after seeing us Total horrible experience….bad food, bad service and bad manners. Spices management take note! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL AVOID THIS PLACE

Ordered a delivery and after over an hour chased it up. 2 hours later we just gave up. Stick to the popular apps instead because this lot do not know what they are doing.

Absolutely shocking service !! Placed an online order 1 hour 40 minutes ago and still waiting despite being reassured twice that the food was on its way . The wait time on the website stated 45 minutes. Will never use again and would never recommend.

It was fantastic for us all to be back ( physically ) at Spices - a reassuring beacon of hope in these ‘mad’ Covid times. Temperature checks at the door, sanitizer, disposable menus, very visible ‘social distancing’...all made a statement that said Naz and his brilliant team are taking their responsibilities seriously with regard to keeping their Diners safe ! But did these ‘measures’ impact negatively on the usual Spices ‘experience’ ? Very little ! There was a definite vibe, the normal ‘buzz’ and an engagement with the waiters that felt personal, in spite of their PPE. Naz was visible and ‘on-hand’ throughout the dining room. And the food excelled ; one of the tastiest meals ever ( in the context of experiencing terrific ‘tasting’ over the past 23 years ! ).

Orde chiken tikka jalfersi they send pattatos 1 chiken in it full of pattes no chiken that’s this honest never again I don’t recommend it misleading customer typical attitude whe having hard times

So pleased to find that Spices were still operating during the lockdown. at 2nd attempt found the new website with the take-away/delivery menu which was really easy to use. Ordered onion bhajis, king prawn achari, chicken chilli masala, lamb rogan josh, chicken korma and chicken tikka masal, plus pilau rice and naan for collection. Really impressed with the social distance queuing arrangements at the restaurant. food ready to collect in about 20 mins. Food was FANTASTIC - will definitely be using again soon to break the covid-19 cabin fever.

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty that is the world alongside Covid19, thoughts of ‘Friday night at Spices’ quickly prompted a phone call to the Datchet restaurant... 50 minutes later and we were tucking into the ‘usual’ feast of quality ‘dishes’, all within the confines of ‘home in lockdown’. A professional & seamless ‘process’ from start to finish ; as has been mentioned before, the delivery guy was courteous, friendly and highly responsible when it came to social-distancing. And the food - as ever - was deliciously mouth-watering ! Well done and ‘thank-you’ to Naz & his superb Spices team.

We had a takeaway from this restaurant as what we hoped would be a welcome treat for my birthday. it was a great disappointment as my wife was really ill for the next two days with a serious bout of food poisoning. When she phoned them to complain they were very unsympathetic and offered nothing by way of recompense.For myself I particularly asked for normal, not hot, lamb curry. The one they delivered was so hot it made my eyes water! I like spicy curry but this one was chilli hot only and left that awful burning taste in the mouth which you get when it’s packed with chilli rather than spices. I was so disappointed and it spoilt my birthday.

I am an Indian myself I went to spices and I was absolutely shocked at how bad the food is even the naans were not nice it tasted like the garlic butter had vinegar or something in it. With the curries we had we told the waiter this has no spice in it and didn’t taste how it should taste the waiter said that next time you come to spices tell us your punjabi and we will make it to your taste for you !!! I totally disagree with that because if it’s an Indian restaurant it should taste authentic I am a chef with 10 years experience and I would be disgusted to serve food like that!!! I don’t recommend this place

During these troubled times it’s wonderful to see a restaurant raising its game. Last evening we decided to order a takeaway delivery from Spices in Datchet. We called to place our order at 5:50pm; the phone was answered promptly, order and delivery details taken, payment by card to avoid cash being handled, and we were told our order would be delivered in around 45 minutes. At 6:30pm the driver telephoned to say he was outside so as not to use the bell! When I opened the door he unzipped the insulated bag, wearing disposable gloves, stepped back to maintain a safe distance and asked me to remove the carrier bags inside. These guys have really got their act together and on top of that the meal was fabulous! We will certainly be using them again. Well done!

I have visited Spices in Datchet about 5 times and they never fail to impress - whether it is a romantic dinner for two, a special occasion or a large family meal! The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive - they went above and beyond to prepare a birthday dessert for us! The food is high quality, great value and always delicious! I have also ordered takeaway several times and the quality is just as consistent! It is also commendable how Spices support their local community! I would highly recommend and will be coming again!

Had ordered a takeaway 35mins before I went to pick it up. The restaurant was busy and takeaway and table book clients were waiting at the bar. I payed for my takeaway and was told it will be 10mins, taking into account the 35mins and my 10min drive an hour for the meal was was not good enough. After 20 mins I asked about my takeaway and was told they are just getting it. The waiter came back and then told me my meal had been mistakenly sent to someone else for a delivery. I was not happy at this but waited another 15 minutes for my meal. The waiter did give me a bottle of Cobra for my troubles. When I got home the wife and I had our meals and we can only say it was the worst main courses we have ever had from there. The chicken was so dry that it broke away, the Bhuna sauce was a watery tomato liquid and my Lonka sauce couldn’t save the chicken.The vegetable side dishes were a success with the popadoms.We have had many visits to the restaurant and can only think it was that they were so busy the chef and his team were under pressure. Will think twice about ordering on a Saturday evening again.

We went with friends to have a good time and were let down by the service and food. When we complained about food quality , we were told this is how it is made !! For poor quality service , we were told it was today due to one staff who got sick.The entire experience was so bad that we left without ordering desserts .Staff serving us was so untrained that they were shoving their elbows on our faces while placing food. We were six people and it took 20 mins for waiter to get us 6 glasses of tap water because he was getting 2 at a time and then forgot twice to bring more . We never got apology for bad food or service . I’m never going there again

The food was quite tasty, however, they served cray fish and not king prawns as stated on the menu. When I queried this they tried to tell me they chopped the king prawns. Though it was clearly cray fish, which is much fishier than prawns. Not acceptable!

We arrived for our meal and we were told our booking had been cancelled after much debate we were given a table. The staff were rude and when my sisters korma came the waiter told her off for stirring it !! They forgot some of our drink order and kept us waiting. Me and my sister ordered cheesecake for dessert and it was frozen we sent it back and they returned with 2 more semi frozen cheesecakes when I told the waiter he started stabbing it with my spoon and said it should be like that it wasn’t until I said my son was a chef that he then took them away. I shall definitely not be going back and and will not recommend

From the minute we walked through the door, to a very warm welcome to the food and the attention to detail. Everything was 5 star.

Thank you so much to all of the staff that made such a huge effort to make my birthday special. They had the whole restaurant singing along to happy birthday, gave me a dessert and also added a whole extra mushroom rice to my takeaway bag. We went to Spice restaurant at Datchet with family and restaurant was full house. Luckily we have reserved our table. Food was mind blowing and great service. Definitely we will back again.

Everything was faultless.the food,service,atmosphere will not be bettered anywhere.we parked at datchet train station,which is free from 6 o'clock and restaurant is a 1 minute walk,so easy to find.

Had a takeaway from Spices Datchet, when we picked it up the smell from the bag was pure delight. Driving back home was just frustrating as the aromas that we’re coming from the bag was mouth watering. Once home with a beer freezing cold the meal was superb. Couldn’t fault anything and once full had difficulty stay awake. Will be going back again but will book a table.

We are blessed in the Windsor area with some amazing Indian restaurants, but Spices may have just put itself into Pole Position for me.

Party of 6, 2 have been there before and enjoyed their trips. 2 vegans in our party and they were very accommodating! Delicious food and amazing options, chana masala, garlic mushrooms and saag aloo are a definite choice if vegan/vegetarian! Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good Indian meal with a good atmosphere!

I went with a couple of my friends and I was pleasently surprised, lovely atmosphere, the staff very attentive, ibhad a biryani and it was lovely packed with flavour and the veg curry that came with it was nice, my friends dishes were lovely too, reasonable in price, lovely location

A group of 8 men visited en-route home from Twikenham - we had to wait a short time but it was worth it. The food was delicious and service very good.

Turned up on a busy Saturday evening- we hadn’t booked but this wasn’t a problem- the staff were very attentive throughout the evening- nothing was too much trouble. We selected off a Standard Indian food menu although I did hear a gentleman asking for some specific flavouring to his meal and this wasn’t a problem. Great atmosphere- quite noisy but this was due to the amount of people all having a good time!! We loved it! £70... but 2 of us had 4 courses and 4 alcoholic drinks in total- not overpriced.

we wanted somewhere local to eat on our last night of our boating holiday and we weren 't disappointed. The restaraunt was very busy clearly with a lot of repeat custom and the food was absolutely amazing, one of the best Indian Restaraunt's we've eaten at.

Poppadoms, pickles, King Prawns Madras, Chicken Tikka, 2 X Pilau Rice, Mints,Beers. Excellent quality and value. Definitely return.

Had a delicious meal with a friend at Spices in Datchet. The lamb biriyani was really tasty and filling. Friendly and efficient service, comfortable seating and a busy ambiance all contributed to a pleasant evening out. Recommended.

i booked this restaurant for a change and was really looking forward to going. We arrived and told them we had booked a table for dinner. we sat down and we had not even took off our coats before they tried to put the napkin on our lap. i thought then, very rushed.

Ordered 2 king prawn dishes & 2 chicken dishes to be delivered.

Took a large group here last night. Service absolutely brilliant. We had a table of 17 from our golf group. Food was all great and the atmosphere brilliant. We will be back many thanks

The food in this place is awesome but....

This restaurant just gets busier and busier every weekend we visit...that is because Naz and the staff do such a wonderful job of making everyone feel special and welcome. The food has been consistently wonderful over the 7 years we've been going....almost religiously! They have designed a very special place and it is the heart and jewel of Datchet in the evenings.

Lovely meal here with friends, service was great and staff friendly. Very busy, and a regular was saying it always is - so book in advance! The table we had reserved was being used by a walk in party who were politely asked to vacate, so not too much of a wait. Food came as ordered, cooked perfectly and really good as well - not too spiced for the plainer dishes and the spiced ones were great! Recommend the vindaloo and mixed grill for non spicers. Samosas were brilliant, hand cooked and light. Great little find! Parking a nightmare though - but that’s all of Datchet for you. After 6pm, if you’re lucky, grab one of the two spaces outside the front of Costa Coffee next door if you can!

We have had a mixed experience of eating in Spices over the years, some meals being really good.Tonight both main courses were very oily with huge chunks of dry, tough chicken. Bhuna sauce full of almost raw chopped onion and little else and the tandoori rotis were like leather.Sorry Spices but you can do much better than this.

First time we had been to Spice's - very busy, it was a little chaotic when we arrived as no one seems to be front of house and the place was very busy.....soon rectified with a drink and then the table ready.

Food, service, ambience, environment - this place has everything. Delicious meal with a tapestry of incredible flavours, and staff who really care. Loved it.

Went for a family meal. We were surprised at how busy the restaurant was, but despite this the service was friendly and attentive. The menu was wide ranging, so we all found something to our taste. The food was delicious and portions large - we ended up with a doggy bag which provided another meal for the next day.

Have eaten here whilst visiting family members on several occasions and it never disappoints. Fantastic food, big portions, friendly staff and a genuinely warm welcome. That's why we keep going back.

An excellent place to eat. The spices in the food was outstanding with excellent customer service. Variety was terrific catering for vegetarians and meat lovers. Highly recommend it.

Great food, and a lovely atmosphere, and busy for a Thursday. absolutely excellent nice to try something new rather than the usual typical Indian dishes, these were really tasty ............... trying to find an excuse to go again !

Stayed at a hotel a couple of miles away prior to next day flight. It was worth the visit. Excellent services, really really good curry and washed down with a beer. A great start to our holiday. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

Myself and my partner booked into a nearby hotel and we were receiving awful service at the restaurant so came across this place - could not have been more perfect! Although it was a really busy night, they managed to fit us in without a booking, the staff were very attentive and the food was incredible. We do keep threatening to come back to try it or at least grab a takeaway but are currently saving for other things - as soon as we are in a situation to try this place again, we will be doing so!

On any trip to Windsor, a visit to Datchet to Spices is a necessity. Superb cooking served in lovely surroundings and excellent service. Food is really delicious. Have been coming here since the early 90s and no ther Inidan restaurant I go to comes up to this standard.

Visited in August 2018 with Friends. as we were staying for the 1st time in the area We took the recommendation from Trip advisor. when I call the restaurant was closed and I could not leave a message, within 5 Minutes I was called back .. Wow they followed up on a missed call. We agreed and booked a time to visit. It takes about 5 Minutes in a taxi / Uber for Windsor to the Resturant. The Service and Food are worth visiting for, staff are friendly helpful and attentive even with a full service we did not wait long for any of our meals. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food I would recommend visiting if you like Indian food and you're in the area.

Stayed in Datchet for one night and came across this excellent restaurant. The decor is very slick and contemporary. The atmosphere was lively and very busy for a Sunday night. The food was well presented and flavoursome and accompanied by excellent service. The maitre D was very friendly and took the time to chat with us. Value for money also very good.

Spices datchet is an amazing restaraunt with excellent food (they cater to your every need!) and the service is by far the best I have experienced in any restaraunt! Amazing food, service and many many excellent nights here at spices. From the moment you enter you are welcomed and looked after by the lovely staff!

So I went to this place to have a nice and lovely dinner but to my surprise, a horrible one might I add, it was quite the contrary.
