Maya in Windsor and Maidenhead

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We were expecting a long wait but didn’t wait long at all. High recommend!

We had a reservation at 6:30 but food was not served till 8:15. The waiter failed to take the order when we ordered drinks and in the meanwhile the Take away business was given priority over customers. Overall, the food was excellent. All the different curries were well seasoned. The condiments with Poppadoms were a good selection.

I’ve come here many times before and it has never disappointed. I’ve had family come over from Australia, as they have never been to Maya before. They absolutely loved it. The Grill from the Sea is just out of this world and The Railway Lamb curry was full of flavour, with the lamb being very tender. The staff were attentive as always and the management are a lovely team, which they always make me feel welcome. Keep up the good work Maya!

We had not been to Maya for a few years, although we live in the same village. They have an extensive menu, so lots of choices. I must say that service was excellent, food presentation as well, and the food itself was also very good. The way the food was brought to the table and presented matches that of any fine dining Restaurant. Ok, it has taken some time to arrive at the table, but I assume that this means, that it is freshly cooked. It certainly tasted fresh and excellent. We will definitely be back soon!

Seriously (and surprisingly) good. Way, way above your average Indian. Friendly, attentive service…and excellent flavour. Not had better coconut rice; prawn jalfreizi was superb. Gonna sleep well after an excellent day 😎

Really great food and good friendly service. I’ve taken many friends and colleagues here and they’ve always been very impressed. I think it’s my favourite Indian restaurant in the UK, at least top 2.

Maya’s food is exceptional. We’ve visited quite a few times now and every time is as good as the last (we’ve also had a few takeaways which have been equally as good). We’ve eaten at loads of Indian restaurants over the years but this is by far the best we’ve ever eaten at. It’s always busy (obviously) so I would say that booking ahead is essential if you want to guarantee a table. It isn’t a particularly large restaurant so fills up quickly - especially nearer the weekend. The owner is almost always there and often takes the time to interact with guests which creates a lovely atmosphere. We understand from him that the recipes used for a large number of the dishes are old family recipes and a lot of care is taken to ensure consistency of quality and taste - and it definitely shows. Keep up the good work Maya!

Service was good and food was very tasty

We were very fortunate to get in as the place was full. We were only staying a couple of nights locally and would come back just for the food here. It wasn't just the food, but the owner came over (we didn't know he was the owner at firdt) to take our order and chatting away for a long time, making us feel very welcome. When I asked about gluten and dairy free he knew all the things I need to avoid. A real gem of a place run by a man who clearly cares about the food, the staff and the customers

Nice place, the tikka halloumi was amazing. The servers were very attentive however we asked for a bit more time to order and when we were ready wehad to ask twice if we could order and waited over 40 mins! We felt invisible.

Fantastic service. Did have to wait 25 minutes after our reservation however, we did book 2 hours before. We were served drinks upon entry while we waited, greeted very nicely. Discounted bill due to the wait without having to ask. Overall, Fantastic food and even better customer service. If you've never been here before please go amazing experience! Customer service and food is really something else. Amazing restaurant.

Very slow service, and extremely noisy restaurant. Visited on a Thursday night with four friends, with our table booked for 7pm. Seated promptly and given menus but then no attention whatsoever for 25 minutes. Eventually got to order drinks and poppadum's which came promptly. Unfortunately, main courses didn't then arrive until after 8:30pm - over 1.5 hours after we were seated. Front of house staff were very pleasant and polite and working hard, but I wonder if they were one or two people down? Restaurant itself was busy, which is a good sign and bears out the positive reviews it's received. It was very, very noisy, however, due to this and the number of hard surfaces (walls, floor, tables, etc.) in the restaurant. At times it was impossible to have a conversation or to even hear the person sat opposite. The quantity and quality of food was undoubtedly good, well spiced and felt freshly prepared. Sides including rice, nan bread and onion bhaji were all excellent/ Cost was, I feel, too high for the overall experience. I don't think I'll return to the restaurant due to the slow service and extreme noise level, and sadly feel that as a take-away option it's too expensive.

Over the last few years the service has just gotten worse and worse to the point you only just about receive your meal after 1.5 hours afternentering the restaurant. On top of the declining service the cost of eating here is getting absolutely ridiculous compared to the 2 other Indians in the village. Last weekend was the final straw to promise myself to never coming back here again. The bill was over £120 for 2 of us and I think I asked about 3 different waiters for some water and it just never appeared despite ordering other drinks alongside it that did arrive. When I complained about the lack of water the waiter said that it would definitely come if I swapped to bottled water?!?! Left the restaurant feeling like I had just wasted me evening

There is a reason this place is packed night after night; excellent Indian food served by an exceptional team, led by Mabs. Yes, it is pricier than the average Indian but the old adage ‘quality does not come cheap’ definitely applies. There is nowhere remotely comparable in the vicinity.

It’s difficult to write a review for this restaurant because: 1. The food is decent and tasty 2. The service was terrible, not for the first time everything was very slow. Along with the slow speed of service you have to keep asking for things, we asked three times for water but the waiters kept forgetting.

First time here which is crazy as I have lived here so long. Great service. They found us a table as we hadn’t booked. Very busy but we were treated so well and the food came without us waiting. Great flavours and large portions. Had such a great night we will be back.

We went here with high expectations. Unfortunately it is nothing more than a bog standard high street Indian , pretending to be something that it is not. The young manager has only just come out of school and has a few things to learn about customer service. Expensive and very average. Avoid.

I love this restaurant. The food and the service are 100% top notch. It was a shame tonight they had to deal with a VERY nasty and unpleasant customer who I can see has now left an unpleasant review this evening. They dealt with him very professionally and my advice would be not to “avoid” this restaurant but to ignore his review.

Jhinga Garlic Prawns are the best prawn dish I’ve definitely ever tasted. The Seafood Grill is absolutely fantastic also. Would recommend to dine in as both dishes are served sizzling. One of the top Indian restaurants, would highly recommend.

I have been to Maya many times over the years. I live around 30 minutes away but the journey is worth it for the quality of food they provide. Keep up the good work.

We were lucky to get a table at Maya as we hadn’t booked. We were staying at a hotel locally and were recommended to this excellent Indian. Although we eat quite early the restaurant was already almost full. However, we were welcomed and made comfortable by Mario. We were served poppadoms very quickly and Mario then used his vast knowledge and told us of the different dishes available. Although there was a wait it was not a problem. And the food was worth waiting for! Generous portions and extra coconut as we’d asked for. A delicious meal. And we were not made to feel at all embarrassed by asking for the remainder to be packed and taken away. An excellent meal.

We are big Indian fans and like to try different ones in the area, this place is at the bottom of our hit list we are just driving home now! 1st of all my husband was sat next to a humming Fridge that was louder then any music being placed we were also in a walk way, we waiting over 1.5 hours for our main meal out popadoms came quickly this resulted in as buying more drinks our bill was so expensive based on what we would normally spend on a similar restaurant and the food was bland as basic , over all bad Experience and would never go back , shame !!

Great atmosphere, great staff, fantastic food, monkfish, salmon, lamb and chicken dishes all sublime !! Quality of food was superb and very generous portions. The first time are friends had been to the restaurant and already talking about return visit.

We came here last night as a group. The place was busier than expected for a Wednesday night. Staff were friendly and attentive, and we did not have to wait too long for food to come out. The my chicken on the bone dish was very tasty, but seemed expensive for a curry at £16.99 without any sides. A couple of my friends also ordered mixed grills with a side of tikka masala sauce. These small side bowls of sauce were charged to us at £4.95 each, which I think was way way overpriced. I think maybe the affluent area this is located in has affected the price point. I am also not keen on places that automatically put a service charge on the bill - this should be at the discretion of the paying customer, not an assumption by the restaurant. That said, the food was good and the overall experience was a nice one with my friends, so I would come back here, although there are plenty of other curry houses to try out in the area!

We had a quick meal here . . they were busy so we had a wait for the main course but it was worth it

The food was was had ok taste to it, but quite average tbh and the staff were friendly, but sadly very slow. I felt the Resteraunt was sadly lacking. The nan bread came out once I had almost finished my rice and curry. Curry didn't have much meat in it. The bill was more than twice what I pay anywhere else. The food was had had taste but really quite average, I can get far better flavour in restaurants with lower cost not too far from here. If the price was half what it was the food quality would have been fine and the quality or lack of service I would have been ok with. I felt the service was rather slow tbh. I realise being in Sunninghill it's going to be more expensive because of the location, but for the money the restaurant needs to be a lot higher quality.

From the service through to food Maya was fantastic. I had the chicken tikka massala, plain boiled rice and garlic nann. The food was really well cooked, with great portion sizes. Our host was incredibly accommodating and friendly as were the rest of the staff. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great to, busy, bustling and fun. I would highly recommend eating here or getting a takeaway

Booked a table for 2 in the evening. Very hectic when we walked in. Offered a tiny table by the entrance, opposite the counter, and really close to two other tables. Nothing else available so we declined and went somewhere else. Shame because one other previous visit was good and this has put us off returning.

Really overpriced for what it is unfortunately

First visit for a while here and the standard was good. Restaurant had many tables occupied which is a good sign and the meal was nicely presented. The curry I had was light on oil which again is a sign of a chef who uses the taste of the ingredients to talk rather than sloshing in a load of oil to disguise poor cooking. Will visit again!

Good starters, good service but some poor mains, my wife and I had the heraali chicken and lamb together with a dall samber which were all far too sweet. Our friends dishes were ok but why taint dishes with sugar ?

Gourmet Indian food, delicious and great service. This does come at a cost but it's worth it.

You can taste the 'freshness' of the produce in the dishes. The chef is a 'keeper'. The staff are exceptionally courteous and the restaurant is clean. I have no negatives at all and would recommend.
