Really friendly staff helped me out when my car broke down round the corner. The restaurant seemed really nice inside and the food smelt delicious!

Not impressed. Popadoms were stale, starters were fine but chicken pakoras just a fried fritter with hardly any chicken - there was even a chip on the plate from the fat frier, obviously the chef doesn’t care too much! My lamb shank was terrible and barely edible, it looked black and grey in parts. Won’t be coming here again.

Initially i thought this would be great and tastier restaurant but it was disappointing butter chicken omg so sweet, chicken biryani not good in taste compared to authentic biryani.

Avoid this place in every way! I had a cockroach and a worm in my food ! My room had mold also it smelled like marijuana and had rats!

I had booked but was a bit worried when I arrived and saw that the restaurant was inside a hotel. I shouldn't have worried The restaurant is really nice inside. The portions were large and all the food we had (5 people) was great. We took advice from the staff who were friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend

Monkfish was very dry. Chicken Masala was average. Over priced

Food was late via uber eats. Butter chicken was the wrong order got a korma which was full of sugar and to sweet. Mint sauce and raita both full of sugar and too sweet. Chilli chicken was too oiley. Peshwari naan cold and sweet.

I have purchased many deliveries from Ghandi in the last few years. Food is good. Today I found 4 different menu prices. I called the restaurant and was given the most expensive options - more expensive than Uber or Just Eat. Won’t be a customer again

Good food, the fish roopchanda was nice, Palak paneer was underspiced but tasty. Staff were pretty handson and good.

Wrong item delivered (tarka dhal instead of dal makhani). Quality very poor - extremely spicy even for an Indian & naans were so rubbery, looks to be supermarket bought not freshly made in a restaurant.

Good food across the board. Nice staff with timely service. Much appreciated. Fun quirk: Gandhi was strictly a teetotaler and anti alcohol. His birth state has banned alcohol for this reason. In the restaurant the non-alcoholic options were scarce. Not quite Gandhi in that aspect.

This has always been our go to Indian in Maidenhead but no more. Oily food, tasteless dishes, tough meat and found a hair in my food. It wasn't terrible but something has changed and not better. Different chef maybe? Anyway the search is on for a replacement takeaway.

Went for dinner recently and was impressed. A couple of great chutneys in the pickle tray and large portions of food for both starters and mains. We had a range of dishes, and everything was superb. The decor in the restaurant is interesting!

I don’t go here very often, as I usually head to the Emperor. Food is OK, generous portions, really nice green sauce with the popadoms. Plates are a bit silly and they need a bigger wine fridge. Woman on opposite table was kicking off about the poor quality of her food, but I think she was drunk.

Shocked at their price increase's, I have just ordered 1 x main dish and 3 x side dishes that came to £27.00. The same order from the Ruchi in wotton way would be £19.00 and just as good. Won’t make the mistake of ordering from the Gandhi again, they are going to lose customers from this increase.

Went there the other day (on a Sunday) for my Dad's Birthday. Expensive food and it's average at best, too Salty. What bothered me was the service. We bothered to sit in and have a nice evening but the staff were prioritising takeaways over us and seldom came over - I had to ask 3 times for our mains. Never coming here again. Lemon grass is the best one i've been to thus far.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks are deceiving as the food is excellent. Varied menu with lots of choice - fish, meat, veggie, sides - and the curries are very tasty without being greasy or oily. I would definitely come back here again.

Revisited as it was one of my favorites about 2/3 years ago. It has changed Service was non engaging and lacked feeling. Dishes came out and they identified them wrongly! Food was average at best and left half of it. Would not go again

Another so called Indian restaurant. I hope you understand what I mean. Food was average with typical tomato purée taste. Nothing special about it. It was completely disappointing for us, who loves authentic Indian food.

I called in on a cold and wet February evening to try and escape the food at the hotel I was staying in down the road. The place appears to be in the middle of a housing estate and felt a bit odd walking in but once inside it became clear this is a very large place. I was soon seated and whilst the service was a bit slow (and I was the only person in there), the food was delicious and good value for money.

Brilliant as it always is. Recommend it to anyone who likes a brilliant curry.

Converted former residential dwelling now a restaurant.Also looks like it could be a hotel or b&b. Inside the restaurant it has a nice ambience apart from the constant phone ringing for takeaways. Staff are friendly but not very efficient. Our sizzling mixed grill starter was served on a cold plate and was cold and dry. Our mains then took over a hour to arrive. The restaurant wasn't even busy! The mains were full of chilli powder rather than fresh chilli's being used. The highlight was the hot towels at the end, which were hotter than the food.

Always get our takeout from here - authentic food and so tasty cannot fault the service as it’s very quick and food also arrives steaming hot, going to eat in next time :)

avoid just ordered a delivery takeaway came in 1 hour food cold would not order from here again as for food just spicey no actual taste

Been getting takeaways for a while now & its Nice food but I keep getting served half portions so I’m taking my business elsewhere because I’m sick of complaining about it. Paid £14 for a king prawn patia, prawns were not “King” and they were chewy. The portion was a joke, it looked like someone had eaten half it. £14 really? This keeps happening week after week!

Perhaps the best Curry I have eaten for years. Food is well presented, and the staff service is impeccable.

I stayed at the hotel (not the restaurant) for 2 nights and would never stay there again. Dirty, noisy and expensive for what you're getting. Stay at a travelodge instead!

Staff were friendly and polite. The Food was mediocre and rather expensive for being just average quality. If I was in Maidenhead again I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. Food at Mr India in Loudwater or Viceroy in Bourne End is far way superior. Probably just pop to Waitrose for a curry next time I’m in Maidenhead save me a few quid.

Good location but could do with modernization and a good clean

I ordered Mix Kebab and Madras Keema green peas on Uber App. It biggest Mistake ever done. Chefs think they are very smart than the customers just a bit of lamb in the mixed kebab and 90% of chicken mince in the Keema curry and charge £22 pounds and get away? I work in the food industry and I very well the costing. It is a takeaway. First time and the last time.

Unfortunately the food we ordered was cold on arrival and extremely salty. I have visited many times and always been satisfied with the food and service, the takeaway, was unfortunately not as good.

First Time tried this restaurant. Ordered King prawn Madras with long grain rice. The Madras flavour was there , however I found the sauce very watery , prawns a bit chewy, the long grain rice was overcooked and very soggy.

I was staying in the hotel above and decided to eat in the restaurant, the staff , food and restaurant presentation was outstanding.. The food was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

Came here with my partner as had read good things about it, and wanted to introduce her to the world of Indian dining. Not a great success! The service was lacklustre to say the least. Had to get our own drinks menu, and then the draught Kingfisher beer was very watered down - not a great start. The appetisers were ok, garlic mushrooms and veggie samosas. The main was also nicely presented and reasonably tasty, but I've had Indian meals that had real power to the taste. It was also difficult to understand which menu items were suitable for vegetarians, as no clear labelling. We never got offered any desserts which was disappointing, especially as our dishes were cleared away and it was clear we wanted to try something else. We then had to go and find someone for the bill, so definitely racing in service quality. The final nail in the coffin was when a neighbouring table asked about the karaoke and the manager rolled out a microphone and portable speaker. Wholly inappropriate for a restaurant setting. Based on the above I cannot recommend the Gandhi Restaurant unless karaoke is your thing.

Been getting our takeaway here the last few years. Food over that period generally good, however standards dropped recently (May 2021) so started going elsewhere

Food turned up fresh out of the microwave within 10 minutes. Korma was okay, the bhuna was disgusting! No flavour other than an enormous amount of salt and chilli powder. Almost all of it ended up in the bin. Not feeling well this morning so rice prob sitting around for hours on end. Won't be using this restaurant again. 1 star is generous

Absolutely fantastic! I almost never write reviews for anything... Too much effort. We ordered from Ghandi's directly; the website is easy to navigate and use and I feel more confident that the correct portion of my money is ending up in the correct hands. Once our order was placed, an ETA was given (which they beat) and when the driver arrived, he phoned to let us know he was nearby. He was an absolute pleasure. The food itself was absolutely faultless. I had the Maharaja Bhuna, which I highly recommend and my partner had the chicken tikka dupiaza - which I snuck a bit of and it was just as delicious. All in all, a fantastic experience from start to finish. A perfect lockdown treat!

For 5 years I walked past Gandhi's everyday on way to the Station. I never went. Finally due to lockdown, I ordered a takeaway and now regret the past 5 years!!! Food is fabulous. Samosa's are always crispy. Madras/Jalfrezi's fabulous and meat is cooked perfectly (especially Chicken which is always moist). Portion sizes are excellent too. This is a MUST eat Indian. Or for that matter a MUST eat takeway whatever type you like

Ordered for the first time from Ghandi over the weekend. It was the most delicious take away we've had in Maidenhead since moving here. The Gosht Kata Masala is phenomenal, and their take on scampi is delicious. Will definitely be ordering again and can't wait for the restaurant to open to we can have a meal inside.

Very poor!! I ordered a takeaway of chicken jalfraizi with a side of saag aloo and a keema naan. The food was cold, bland, swimming in oil and with very little meat. I was even charged for delivery when delivery was supposed to be free.

The chicken jaipuri and chk phall are really hot. If you like heat do try them. The biryani is good too. Haven't tried lamb. The veg food is also pretty good. The bhindi and dal masala are worth a try. The chapati are really soft and made of wheat flour.

Food is really really delicious and authentic. Service was really slow, only two waiters (who were also preparing drinks behind the bar) in a full restaurant so the service was not great, but would definitely recommend the food.

To summarize great food, bad service I really wanted to rate it 5 stars the food was delicious But, the service was so so bad I couldn't give the last star We waited to long for any attention from the writer, took him half an hour to get our order and another half an hour just to come back to us after he cleared our table from the main dish by that time it was too late to order dessert I don't mind waiting for good food to be prepared, but I do mind rude services when the waiter impatiently explained me about a dish almost rolling his eyes at my question

Returned to Gandhi for a socially distanced group dinner. There are now seats outside so we managed to grab tables outside and really enjoyed the service and food. The team were friendly and it was great to be back

Ordered a selection of Indian cuisine for home delivery from Ghandi restaurant. The food was delivered promptly and was fresh and hot. The lamb bhuna was lovely as was the chicken tikka and sag aloo. The tandoori lamb chops were also a winner !!Popadoms were a little stale unfortunately but will forgive this as the rest of the meal was very nice indeed. Would recommend and will be ordering again....

Take out for a party of six with a variety of mains and sides dishes. Outstanding curry had by all and the chicken tikka masala reached my top curries of all time list. Highly recommended and will be returning soon to check it wasn’t a fluke.

Okay so the decor is frankly bonkers ... ( juxtaposing a wall mural of the eponymous Mahatma with giant cuddly zebras and tigers littered about the place ) but it’s part of my local’s charm .The service is friendly and efficient The food is reliably good and the menu goes into some interesting areas .I love it here .
