Never had bread with literally no flavour. We all brought a baguette because they looked great. Looks can be deceiving. Three baguettes purchased three baguettes in the bin. Coffee was good. But my god, is the break rank.

Nice selection of drinks, cakes and toasties. Facilities and dining area clean and staff welcoming and helpful. Had two toasties, bit expensive, but oh boy were they well filled, hot and absolutely delicious. Apparently, they have only started opening on a Saturday to test customer demand. Would definitely consider going back again.

Spicer and Cole have started food processing their poor quality chicken into a paste now. So gross. It’s not cheap to eat there either. Wouldn’t recommend, the texture was awful, used to be so nice there too. They just keep putting prices up for poorer quality food. Butter in the sandwiches has long gone, now they’re mushing their chicken into a paste to hide its sins. Go pret instead at least their chicken resembles chicken.

This is the perfect destination for breakfast, brunch or lunch during the week. They are open Monday - Friday. Breakfast options include sourdough toast, eggs, granola/yoghurt and fresh fruit juices. Lovely tea and coffee to sit in or take away. This place appears very popular and with good reason. There is daily baking with cakes, pastries and sweet treats, a range of freshly prepared salads and a beautiful selection of sandwiches, tarts and sausage roll type items. Highly recommended, it is "my kind of place" in terms of having fresh, vegan options, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. It feels inclusive and open, and trendy without being intimidating. Will visit again next time I am in Bristol.

Wonderful coffee, great baristas. One drawback is that you can’t pay in cash and also can’t tip via card! The pastries look delicious.

Pretty pricey overall. Good quality sausage sandwiches and jam on toast for 3 year old. Coffee was very good. Would find somewhere cheaper next time but convenient for premier inn next door.

A wide choice of breakfast items, with plenty of tables and a good system for quick service. Friendly staff. Just a shame there’s only one size of ( small) coffee.

I adore the atmosphere, the music, lighting and seating feel welcoming, cultured and inspiring. The food is fresh, healthy and honest, loads of choice and something for everyone. Personally, I look for vegetarian and vegan options, but there is plenty to choose from. The staff are happy and friendly in a chilled out way . . .I felt welcome but not in a rush and there were clearly many satisfied customers sitting in and taking away. I discovered Spicer+Cole on my first visit to Bristol 2 years ago and returned recently. I went there every day of my 3 day short break, as I knew I could rely on the food options and consistency. This is important to me, I am not "fussy" it is more of an anxiety issue around food. I am mentioning this because it shows what a good place this was and how I could feel relaxed and enjoy a healthy and wholesome brunch that set me up for the day. Many thanks again to the staff for their hospitality.

I had a lovely lunch with a friend at Spicer & Cole. My first trip to sit inside a cafe since pre-covid and everything felt really safe. I had a ploughmans sandwich and a pot of tea which were delicious but in my opinion, on the pricey side! Took half of the sandwich to work with me, hence the eating at desk photo. I would definitely visit again. The brunch menu and cakes on offer also looked really good.

Interesting to hear others have issues with slow and rude service here. We ordered three coffees and were told they'd bring them over to our table. After waiting 15 minutes (and the cafe wasn't busy) two of the coffees were served. My wife politely asked if the other was on it's way, to be told "I've only got two hands." And not in a friendly, jokey way either. Outrageous.

We went for a brunch at Spicer and Cole. Nice and spacious interiors set a pleasant ambience for the visit. There is a good selection of food, accounting for people with all sorts of dietary requirements. The food itself is pretty good, nothing mind blowing but solid and satisfying - the beans were a highlight. The portion sizes are also pretty good, making the value ok for central Bristol. There are a few things letting it down, however. The staff tend to be aloof and unfriendly, and the service can sometimes be slow. It very much has the feel of a do it yourself cafe. The juices are not fresh, and therefore it feels like you end up paying a small fortune for them. On the whole, an enjoyable visit carried mostly by the good quality of food. Probably one of the better brunch places in the area.

Came here on a deal through Wriggle. Had 2 vegan breakfasts which were amazing. The smoked grilled tofu was beyond good. Everything on plate cooked nicely. Had some lovely peach tea. My only gripe was the blueberry muffin lacked blueberries but was nice cake anyway.
