We had a takeaway that was delivered yesterday, came on time and was absolutely the best Indian meal we have had in and around this area. Normally have to pour lots of oil out of the containers before pacing on the plate, but there wasn't any oil just a lovely sauce. We will definitely order from here in future and have already recommended to friends, neighbours and family. Highly recommend.

Amazing service and surprisingly good food. We were driving through the area and ended up in Lambourne. We wanted to have a Chinese but decided on Spice Valley due to its halal food. Service was excellent we were welcomed and felt like at home. Food was surprisingly good given the size of the restaurant I assumed it was just going to be adequate but the food was awesome! Glad we opted for the Indian instead of the Chinese...thank you Alim and staff at this gem of a place. Hope you all carry on doing well. Thank you.

We had the chettinad and the pathia. Absolutely gorgeous both of them. And the naan bread was lovely, fluffy and flavoursome, unlike some other restaurants I won’t mention whose naans are as thin and as tough as cardboard. They didn’t sell beer but that was ok as there were three off licences about 20 feet away. 🤣 So all in all a really good evening.

Just had another excellent feed from Spice Valley. This is the place for curry lovers. Last week I had a tandoori garlic chilli massala. It's on the menu only as chicken under the specials but they'll do it with king prawns if you ask. And the prawns were done just right. It is so easy to overcook king prawns and they end up like mush and lose their flavour... ugh. But these were large and lovely, and the texture was spot on. And this week I had a king prawn biryani from them. Bit sedate for a curry lover eh? But the biryani is moist and flavoursome, and they very graciously accommodated me by adding finely chopped green chilli into the mix. Hit the spot! I'll be coming back. Thanks guys!

Whilst visiting my Son and his family in Lambourne, we decided to order a meal delivered to his address. What a surprise? The meal for four people was delivered exactly on time, piping hot and delicious tasting. It was also very reasonably priced. I will certainly have food from there next time I visit my son. Thank you.

Lived in the area now for three years. Local reputation kept us away from this place. After change of management decided to give it a go for a last minute takeaway. Overall would score it 15 from 25. Food was OK but not outstanding. I had a Chicken Biryani which, compared to others in the past from across the country was fairly average. "'Er indoors" had a Korma, which was just acceptable, again when comparing to others from the past. The Peshwari Nan (my favourite bread) was just lacking a lot of the characteristics that I have come to expect. Many takeaways will give poppadums and some chutneys for free when you spend more than £20 or so, but not here. Best dish of the night was the Saag Paneer. We will most likely use them again for takeaway but unlikely to go for a proper sit down feast.

I can definitely recommend a visit to Spice Valley. Forget anything negative you may have heard before. Food and service are both excellent under the new owners. Staff are friendly. There's a whole new range of dishes. We're spoiled for choice - there's the traditional favourites and several modern dishes that I'd not heard of before. And if you're after something a bit hotter or a bit milder, or something a bit out of the ordinary, they'll happily accommodate.I'm also impressed with the website. It is so easy to place a takeaway order through, and if you have any special requests, like making a certain dish with king prawn instead of chicken say, you just put it in the additional comment box.Overall, I've had no reason to fault them yet. Long may it continue.

A gem of a find in this quiet little Berkshire horse racing village. The value for money is very refreshing if you enjoy good quality European style Indian food. The place is licensed ,so a welcome beer with curry is available and the service is prompt and efficient. The tables are all well laid and noticeably clean too. Portions are more than adequate and their take away service is both timely and well presented.

The quality and diversity of the menu is very good for an Indian restaurant in a village the size of lambourn. Where the wheels fall off is the takeaway service. My wife and I are not prolific takeaway eaters, but we order one every 1-2 months. The last 10 or so times we have ordered, 1) we are told it will take at least 1 hour to deliver, and 2) they are always late to deliver, on two occasions up to 2 hours. Every other occasion they get lost (even though we live on the main street in a nearby village) or get our order wrong. Needless to say these guys have a captive market here is the wilds of West Berkshire, but going forward I am considering paying for delivery or picking up myself from Hungerford.

Recent visit so don't know if there has been a change of chef but flavours notas good as in the past. Difficult to describe but all a bit bland and lacking in flavour.Portions are about average (not large) and adequate but meat content (chicken/lamb) is a little lacking and evident by being cut up very small. (You have to hunt for it).Maybe a one off experience and being too harsh so will try again as it was so goodin the past.

I don't want to be too harsh to this little restaurant. The food we ordered was great. I feel the lady could have with help front of house. Our popadoms tasted stale. The table was dirty and the owners kid was on his laptop playing computer games in the restaurant. Not very professional. The tables are too small like school desks. The only saving grace was the food to be honest

We gave them a second chance after having a terrible take away. We complained and hit offered a free meal which was lovely. However we tried again and what a joke. The saag aloo had two potato chunks in it. Seriously how much does a potato cost the dish cost me £4 ish and that was ridiculous. The chicken dishes weren't much better with hardly any chicken in. You get more for your money getting an Indian from the nippy chippy. And their tikka tastes much better. Don't waste your time.

Ruby was sooo helpful with describing the menu choices and getting into real detail about the food - Indian food is a food group in our household. We were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes and the flavours burst in your mouth... we had the lamb korai and I would recommend it. They were very accommodation as hubby likes his food hot, so his was made hotter than mine. Such a great selection of dishes too. This has become one of my favourite places to eat in the village...

We booked in as a family group on a weekday. The selection was very good. Service attentive. Overall not expensive. However the portion sizes are more for children than adults. When we mentioned this we were told if you order a take away the portions are larger. As it was we ordered extra dishes to make up. Having said that the meal was delicious and we will go back again in the knowledge you need to order more dishes than one would normally.

Decided to go into Lambourne after deciding not to go to a restaurant in Shrivenham. My partner and I saw this place and parked right outside on the road and decided to give it a try.We are so glad we did! Fantastic service, lovely chap behind the bar area. We were going to order a takeaway but he convinced us to stay, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, they seemed fairly busy with takeaway orders. We ordered popadoms with pickles, chicken bhuna, chicken vindaloo, saag bhaji, keema rice and keema naan. All were perfectly and timely presented, the dishes themselves perfectly spiced, my partner always has a vindaloo and commented that it was the best she had tasted, a balance between taste first then a heat that did not kill the flavour of the dish, in fact it was the first time she polished the lot off !!My bhuna was exquisite, as were the saag bhaji and keema rice and naan.To sum up, great food, fantastic friendly service, i would recommend to all. We will definitely return soon, thank you for a lovely meal.

I ordered food at 1845 and was told it would arrive in 30 minutes - the food arrived more than 90 minutes later close to 2030. The order was incomplete and the food was cold. The price quoted was £59 - I then received a call saying there would be an extra charge for delivery of £3 as I was out of area (despite my village being listed on their website). When the delivery arrived the driver demanded that the £3 be paid in cash. When I check this morning the charge to my card was £69. I have therefore paid £13 more than quoted for an order that was incomplete, late and cold. Not good.

Nice place. The good a little bland. I live in Asia so I expect the food to be more authentic. However, I did not share my preference for a spicier, more spices, not just chili hot.
