Spice Tandoori in Broxbourne

Was over an hour late being delivered, food turned up cold , hardly no chicken in the masala , naan was like cardboard even my dog turns her nose up food was disgusting straight in the bin waste of £40

we had an excellent meal tonight, via home delivery, the delivery was fast, and the food was very tasty......with very generous portions.

Rice somewhat ok, onion Bhaji had been reheated and was like cardboard, lamb rogan can only be described as tiny bits of tough lamb swimming in grease with the of tomato thrown in, everything was salty and garlic Nan looked like it had come out of a Tesco value packet and had not a hint of garlic, and just look at the delight that’s supposed to be a king prawn butterfly, this takeaway has left us pondering if we might have an fight in the middle of the night over who uses the toilet first

DISGUSTING attitude from this restaurant this evening. I have previously ordered twice and had a great experience. Today I was going to order online but couldn't see rice or naan on the menu, so I had put my order in the basket except for 2x pilau rice and 1x naan. My order was showing as £22.45 and when I called I was told it's £39.XX ..I simply and politely asked if he could check he had totalled it correctly and was spoken to disgustingly. I asked how much pilau and naan was and he said £2.90 per item so my bill should have been around £31 (where has the extra £8 come from)? I had also asked if we would get a free bottle of drink as the website states you will on orders over £30, he laughed and said they're not doing this anymore as everything is so expensive. The Man was SO, SO RUDE, I was actually taken aback. He repeatedly said check the website, you're on the wrong one. I read the URL to him and asked if he could confirm my order and the price for each item. The first thing (mixed starter) he said was £6.95 but it's £4.95 on the website right now. He said I'm looking at a website from 2 years ago.?.?.?.? I was completely polite the entire time and said I just wanted to clarify the prices as it seemed a lot (especially when my last two orders wasn't much smaller and was £23-£26). The Man aggressively said he isn't here to aggravate me so do I want the order or not as he doesn't care either way. Order cancelled and I can safely say I will never order from here ever again!!!

slow to deliver, salad was dried out and was inedible, onion bargees were overcooked dried out and hard..... i always spend over £30,+ always give a tip and never get the free bottle of 7up. that they advertise because it`s never offered!/supplied. other times the order is not complete and items have been missing, there`s no point complaining....because in there minds they think your out for a freeby but there standards have dropped and they cannot see it. they have now lost a regular customer......who wont be back.

Havnt used this place in months just been hung up on, will never ever use again. Very rude man whoever mans the phone.

Just telephoned to order takeaway and got a load of abuse and foul language from them for no reason whatsoever. Will never order from this place ever again. Plenty of better options locally. Reporting to Trading standards.

Ordered at 6.58 asked the guy to be honest on time . He said n hour. Phoned an hour n 15 he said any min. Hour 30 he hung up. This is the 2nd time its happened. Never again. The bloke hung up on me. DON'T ORDER FROM HERE

Took almost two hours for delivery. Order arrived cold and greasy! My partners dansak went straight in the bin. My curry was tasteless had to bin it too. We’ve ordered pizza instead. We called the place twice, as did deliveroo. Both times told us the food was on its way. Can’t have been true as we live nearby. Do not order from here!

Terrible quality food. When it eventually arrives its cold and tasteless. Called them to complain and they are just rude not interested, diabolical customer service. Plenty of other options in the area. Will never order from here again. Don't say you weren't warned.

Had a takeaway from here and it arrived. That's the good part. Here is the rest; 1. Call me old fashioned but when I spend almost £30 on basically two main courses and some sides I expect a couple of free popadoms to be 'bunged' in on the house. Again, call me old fashioned, I can take it. But its the gesture thats nice, that's all, makes customers feel welcome. No such luck here. 2. The bag arrives dripping with red/yellow oil (see pics). Now on my carpet. Literally dripping. I didn't notice until I had walked it through to the kitchen. 3. I'd like to consider myself an expert on Chicken Tikka Masala as I have eaten it for 30 years in probably over 100 restaurants. Two things it "usually" is, is Red (ish) and nice large chunks of chicken. This was neither. It was really light orange and SHREDDED chicken. Shredded?? And it was £8.20!!! For shredded chicken!! (see pic) 4. The Lamb Korai was totally inedible. Literally. We binned the whole dish. It was approximately 60% red oil and looked more like a soup and the lamb was ridiculously tough. First peice I spat out, second I ate and is still stuck in my teeth (literally) and third was also spat out. 5. Food temperature. The food temperature should be 75 degrees. It reached me at 49 degrees. (Yes I have a thermometer, used to work in food safety for a hotel, know my temps). 6. Salad was in burger box. You know, the Styrofoam ones you get with a kebab. Nothing bad about this but didn't look very pleasant with that sitting on the table. I'd rather an aluminium container or if that's not cost effective enough, just a bag! 7. 2m rule broken. Guys. Whilst you won't be getting another order from us, PLEASE follow the government's current advice. You arrived, my wife motioned for you to put it on the floor and you waited and wanted to physically hand it to me. That irritated me no end. I have done weeks not coming into less than 2m contact with anyone and tonight you and I at one moment were standing next to each other touching the same bag. Terrible, I'm really annoyed about that.

I have ordered 2 takeaways recently from Spice Tandoori. On both occasions the food delivered was not what was ordered, customer service was very poor and I had to wait for them to re-deliver the right food whilst wat they had delivered was getting cold. There was no hint of an apology. This weeks food was of a very poor standard. It was tasteless and greasy and we threw half of it away. I will not be ordering from them again - there are far better Indian takeaways locally.

We order regularly, great food and portions are very big. Food always comes nice and hot and on time Prices are also very good

I have used this takeaway many times and I’ve always had a good meal. We always get the non vegetarian thali which is such good value for money. Food is always hot and generous portions. Definitely would recommend.

We have been using this takeaway for over 10 years now and yet again we have had a tasty takeaway tonight. We were relieved when it reopened last month as we could not find a replacement takeaway that came close to the taste we are used to.

Been using this takeaway for as long as I can remember and so glad it has re-opened. Have never had a bad meal from this place and is always my first choice for an Indian meal. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Onion bharjis were swimmining in oil and grease, the Prawn Pureau was hard and well overcooked ! They told us they were much improved and under new management, promising great food, but all we got was the same poor quality horribly tasting food we've come to expect from this place.NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!! AVOID IT

Just received food from here. They delivered one hour earlier than requested and returned with the original food at the requested time Warm salad, cold curry, bendy poppadoms.

Two hours from the order via just eat my food arrived. Shredded chicken, practically cold sauce, hard rice, oilly naan. Rang twice to resturant but second time someone answered and couldnt be bothered to help. Just said 'manager not here' over and over. Contacted justeat for my money back (as done on debit card) but they couldnt do it. My advise, dont bother ordering from this place

We ordered our food around 8pm estimated delivery 35mins. We finally received it around 10pm. We called three times and were given various excuses. The food was delicious but clearly one has to factor in waiting time

I love this take away I always pick up deliver keep going wrong I live in epping staff very friendly the food is excellent , the staff will help in anyway.

Not only are they rude on the phone, they deliver your food 1hr and 30mins later after saying "he will be there in 15mins". On top of that, they forgot to put our naan bread in the bag when they finally delivered it. If I wanted out naan bread, I would have to drive 20 minutes to pick it up from their takeaway place. The food however, was 1/10. Disgusting place run by rude people.

The quality of the food was not good. After waiting an hour for our food and two rude phone calls when I asked where our food was, the order arrived and it was completely wrong! It was too late to call back at 1130pm, so we ate it. But, it was cold and not nice. I just wish I had read the reviews before ordering.

Food never turned up after calling the first time food was on it's way 40 minutes later called again food just leaving no apology after being lied to 3rd phone call food leaving again at this point I tell them were to stick it terrible customer service avoid at all costs

Nearly 2 hours after placing online order(hungry house) the food arrived luke warm, no salad and sauce with starters and wrong potato dish. Not sure if i will use again.

Having ordered from just eat and was given a 30 minutes delivery time I was quite pleased. One and a half hours later after 2 phone calls I still have no food. Avoid at all costs

The best takeaway locally - been using for years - have tried many dishes and never fail to please! Delivery is quck, except at peak times, but you accept that.

This review is based on my experience of ordering a takeaway from 'Spice Tandoori' via the 'Just Eat' website. This was both the first time I had ordered via Just Eat and the first time I was using Spice Tandoori. I have also informed the Just Eat website of the problems I experienced. For those who do not know, Just Eat is a site that allows customers to place orders online without having to call or visit the restaurant. In summary an order was placed but the delivery was never made. After an hour of waiting I called the takeaway and was informed that because phone confirmation was not received, they could not proceed with the order. It should be made clear that there is nothing on the site indicating that the company will first call the customer to double check the order. As such, I had placed the order in the expectation that the company would simply turn up at the requested delivery time. The person I spoke with was disinterested and made no effort to try and resolve the matter. The onus of blame was placed towards me for not confirming the order, and again I must make clear that this was not a requirement when placing the order. It transpires that Just Eat recommend to restaurants that this is what they should do to prevent fraud. It is a shame that this wasn't clearly communicated at the ordering stage. However this was not the case, resulting in no food, little understanding and a dishonest claim that someone still tried to deliver the order. I know this to be false because there were no callers at any time during the delivery time. It would have been more honest had I just been informed that the company didn't prepare the order because they did not receive verbal confirmation of the order. So to add to the disappointment of not receiving any food, I was being lied to as well. It was clear given this attittude that the call was going nowhere and I felt it only appropriate to terminate the call. I think the takeaway should be made aware of this negative review and the reasons for it.
