Hidden Gem, what a great restaurant, Food and service was great. A real treat!

Went as a family to Joy Bangla on a Tuesday for their £10 deal and the food was delicious. They also provide plenty of food for the offer and the service was great.

My dad and I came here with a couple of friends late March. Starting with a positive the poppadoms were quite nice... Though, I have to say we were then incredibly disappointed with the curry and service. A long wait for very expensive and very unappetizing food, we won't be going back.

We keep going back since discovering this place for a takeaway. Friendly staff and quick takeaway when we collect. We really enjoy the food and find it really good value!

A really lovely meal with excellent, friendly service and a great welcome.

I would rather eat a Tesco microwave curry ready meal, if you are one of these people who thinks “ I will give it a try, it can’t be that bad” honestly don’t waste your money or time, say no more.

I don’t understand how a place can call itself ‘Bangladeshi’, when they churn out absolute garbage like we had tonight. I was really hoping to like this place after moving to Goffs Oak last year, but, alas. We ordered a takeaway of the tandoori wings; which was poor quality chicken, evident by the big black veins; the ‘special’ lamb and potato; which was abysmal - the lamb was super chewy and not cooked long enough, the spicing was non existent and the sauce weirdly had red food colouring or something ?! Not to mention the spuds were boiled beyond recognition. My boyfriend ordered a jalfrezi, which was just meh and carried the same characteristics of my ‘curry’ above. I personally think I could make a better curry at home and I’m sorry I parted with my hard earned £35 for 2 ‘curries’, a rice and naan and a starter. Really disappointed.

The food was disgusting the chicken korma was curdled and rice was like water. When phoned to tell them the manager was so rude and said that if we ordered again we would get it for nothing, Luke we would order again. NO

Attentive service and the foods was so delicious! Range of options and really liked the fish bhuna.

Good points-most of the food good -tasty and hot. Bad points- walked in to dirty table cloths and dried on food on the forks. Table not laid for 3 people even though we had booked a week earlier and no other diners in the restaurant! Waiter had an ear piece in and was on the phone shouting loudly the whole time- obviously having an argument down the phone, so much that we couldn’t hear our own conversation at the table! Shouted across from the bar to us ‘drinks’ ‘food nice yes’ / didn’t bother to come over. No deserts offered, really felt like we were an inconvenience that we were there! Definitely won’t be going back.

Waited nearly 2 hrs on a so called 45 minute wait. Half order was missing. After calling to tell them the rest of the order turned up 40 minutes later everything was cold. We work hard and have a takeaway once a month and was not even compensated with a poppadom ! Never again.

When we ordered our food the onion bhagee didn't turn up. As I was ringing, I began to eat my chicken tikka balti and the chicken was very chewy - when my partner ate his chicken tikka biryani it was exactly the same. When I mentioned this to the person who answered the phone he asked what he should do about it because no-one else had complained. There was no sorry and he was rude. We were very disappointed with our meal and the way we were spoken to was unacceptable.

Was fine, food ok, but the chef forgot my meal (strange as restaurant empty!?)

Recently moved to Goffs Oak, we decided to try the local Indian Restaurant. We won't be going back. Waited ages to have our order taken even though the restaurant was very quiet. Takeaway orders seemed to be more important than restaurant customers. Our order took ages to come to our table, the food wasn't very nice at all.

I picked up a chicken korma, lamb bhuna ,pila rice and naan . I can honestly say it is the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had. The korma had no taste , was full of water and tasted vile . £27 wasted. Called them to complain they said we will send you another one, took address , hour later 1 korma turned up Luke warm and just as vile !!! Asked for cash when I went in , kept asking I only had card, clearly not declaring all income either . Older man on till very rude . DONT BOTHER

The worst takeaway/delivery I've ever had. Terrible customer service, awful delivery that's late and absolutely shocking curry sauce and stale popadoms dont order from here anymore gone sideways

I must say that was the worst Indian I have ever had, and I have tried a few. I can honestly say the food was tasteless, the meat was tough , I have had food from here before whether they have changed the chef who knows but they will definitely never get any more of my money. It was awful. Tasteless and ended up in the bin.

Had an amazing takeaway recently. All dishes were piping hot and tasty. Portions were generous, especially the chicken naga.

Food arrived on time and hot! Delivery driver Ali was particularly polite and good mannered :D

The order was wrong , not realising until getting home and opening up. Even though I ordered in the shop and watched him write it down. When questioning if they had applied the 10% they hadn’t and was reluctant saying they dont make much profit. They said they would drop nann breads off and then rang back and said they wouldn’t and weren’t charged for them. ( i saw him write it down!!) The food was very bland, never tasted onion bhajee like that , they were awful ( had a sick taste and weren’t cooked inside and very mushy) the dulpiza had no taste and no meat. This restaurant has gone very down hill.

The lamb chops are out of this world highly recommend very delicious Indian takeaway food 😋😋

Do not use this restaurant as you will be ripped off! They always charge you more thinking you won’t notice! To just over charge us £40 is just taking the P! This is not the first time this has happened and we will NOT be using this place ever again!

Great food and very reasonable price.

Dined in this restaurant many times in the past and was brilliant. Decided to order takeaway from here to have a change from our normal curry house but that was a mistake Firstly was half hour late. Popadoms was a joke, never seen them so small before and was stale, everything was so small and bland. Masala sauce looked and tasted like it was watered down and hardly any chicken in it. Overall disappointment Described as the worst takeaway ever had

Great tasty food, ready on time for a take away.

Took over 2 hours to get our food. Told on the phone twice that it was 5 minutes away and still took nearly an hour to come. Food was then cold and didn't taste great at all. Tina masala had no taste to it what so ever.

They are smashing it with deliveries and collections. But have stopped the 10% discount on collections, because of the current situation. Another local business taking advantage of a situation, or at least seeing an opportunity to make an excuse of the current situation. Greed!!

Really not great. 2nd time for takeaway and both times horrendous wait despite us collecting the food. Last night poppadoms were stale and the meat samosas were vegetable and I am sure were pre bought from a supermarket. Unfortunately won’t be returning again. Ever.

Food great but during eat out to help out, manager went round hugging people including my son.During a major pandemic i was not happy.Also over charged on bill by over 10 pounds.I have heard from several people that this happens quite often so check your bills. Unfortunately it's very close to me and would love a regular close restaurant to regularly go to but doubt I'll be going back.

Having just moved into Goffs Oak this was the first time ordering and can I say that I have now found our restaurant we will order from in the future. The food was great and they even delivered to our door. Great service especially at these times when you don’t want to go out.

Quite frankly, I don’t think they even deserve 1 star. The quality of the bags which the curry were in were awful, it split right through, pouring all over the carpet and my dads shoes, as well as ruining a family dinner. The worst thing is when we went back to try and rectify the issue the customer service was APPALLING. They didn’t want to give us a replacement, they were stubborn and rude and blamed their terrible bags on us. They wouldn’t listen or look at the photos as evidence. Although we managed to get some of it replaced (after a long fight) they refused to replace it all even though the rest of it has gone cold and been wasted. SHOCKING service, and a waste of money. We will definitely never be returning again and suggest others don’t as you won’t be satisfied by their dreadful service and hostile attitude. Also the food we did manage to eat wasn’t good- watery and TASTELESS.

Luckily we stumbled upon this restaurant having moved into our new home, which as it turns out is only 1.2 miles away, a few hours earlier in the day. Cannot fault the food as it was excellent and the service was very friendly too. We will be back !!!

I found them to be on the pricier side for a curry house. We ordered a single chicken tikka masala and pilau rice to share and two sides and it came to £24. The food was good however the service experience wasn't great. I asked to pay by card on the phone and they said they don't take card payments on weekends. I had to get cash out which I based on the prices on their website. I was then told when they delivered, these have gone up and haven't been updated. I had to scramble around to find extra change. The delivery person wasn't especially understanding about this.

Tasty curry. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will definitely be back as I only live across the road. Been twice now.

ordered takeaway on the 2/6 price £29.10 they were not take cards over the phone so I had cash so carried on with my order. the order arrived and I gave the man £40.00 (2 x £20 notes) he did not have any change on him to give me. finally after going through his pockets he found £6.95 so I eventually paid £33.05 for my Indian.given they were not using cards you would think they might have covered this issue the person delivering was not even apologetic.to add insult to injury I have had to loose a day from work with food stomach cramps and the rest you can imagine!!!

We booked before we arrived and we was welcomed straight away like we was family! The staff are so friendly that in that alone would make you want to return.We ordered starters, mail course a soft drink and a bottle of wine. All the food was very nice, the wine was cold and was also given a complementry drink after we finshed which was really kind of them.You can park along the street outseide which is good. Plenty of seating insdie, great food quality and the bill although honestly may be a little higher than comparative restaurants it was worth the extra because this place has the whole package.I look forward to returning soon.

Expensive. Average. They sold me lamb chops, then told me i have to call just eat for a refund ? Spent over £40, didnt even get a free drink or poppadom. Followed by the manager telling me im lazy using just eat and to call him next time to make sure his food is in stock ? THE RICE WAS LOVELY, THATS IT AVOID, TOO EXPENSIVE, BAD SERVICE, CHEWY PRAWNS.

My friend Steve took us here for a meal on Christmas Eve and it was one of the best Currys I've had in years.We were so well looked after it made a very pleasant start to our Christmas festivities.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Cheshunt, both for quality and value. Their Vindaloos and Phals are truly authentic made with quality meat. With their excellent service you will enjoy a good evening out.

Had a take away for six people from here,tried to over charge by £12.. This is not the first time. Food very good but always check the bill ...

Had a meal here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very attentive and friendly staff, nice ambience and decor. The food was very good with a good range of dishes to choose from. Well worth a visit when in the area. Unfortunately we can only make occasional visits as we don’t live in the area.

We eat here almost every week and keep coming back! The food is outstanding and there’s always a warm welcome from Hussein, Ahmed and Ali. So lovely to have an amazing curry on our door step in Goffs Oak.

Lovely place, staff are fantastic and treat us including our son extremely well! So well that we try to make a weekly visit to see top man as my son calls the guys here.

Toda la familia ha usado la alegría Bangla durante muchos años mi hijo menor, un curry implementos se come regularmente, ya que es conveniente para casa. La variedad el servicio y la calidad de la comida es siempre buena. El ambiente le falta ya que es bastante pequeña y solía ser una licorería. Comida para llevar y las entregas son muy buenas, sin embargo, tener cuidado de no llevar comiendo en el restaurante o para llevar su fácil acumular una considerable. En general una buena variada comida excelente menú si te gusta la India, pero puede ser un poco caro, buen servicio todo el mismo.

Fuimos un lunes por la noche, noche de banquetes. La comida estaba bien para lo que pagamos en una oferta menú especial (sin duda volvería a pagar para comer desde el menú "normal"). El ambiente era terrible, los camareros habían argumentando y eran crispado con los otros. El servicio era pobre, esperar siglos, unos errores en nuestro pedidos tonto que era molesto. Tan pronto como la izquierda (éramos los únicos en el restaurante) empezaron discutiendo de nuevo, podía escuchar gritos desde afuera! ! ! . . . . Algo que tiraron. golpear la ventana horrible final para nuestra noche. volver nunca, mucho mejor restaurantes indios alrededor (prueba Pubali, Potters Bar en su lugar - siempre excelente).

Como de costumbre una comida agradable, sin embargo, un poco caro en mi opinión. Aunque este quizás el caso, si el nivel de la comida sigue siendo el mismo, sin duda nos alojaremos de nuevo allí, pero no pedir bastante como mucho debido a los costos.

I have been visiting this place for soo many years and the manager provides me n my family with excellent service. Its a very friendly resturant with great customer service. I just want to mention that all the negative reviews this place has been getting is not true. Just because of ur one time mess up does not seem fair to give a bad review. The manager is soo nice that he looks at every thing soo if u are upset he will recorrect this, he will not leave it. He truly believes in good customer service, he also looks afters his old customers. So please before leaving any negative reviews online for others to see i think its only fair to actually sort the matter out in person. This is one of my fab place to eat in goffs oak.

Got meal tonight Saturday 31st £41 Our Currys are full of water liquid when put on rice full of water. Discusting I rang and spoke to a rude waiter When i said we won't come again he said ok fine. And hung up. How rude Been coming for 20 yrs. no more

Thought we would go out for a curry with my wife & my heavily pregnant daughter,booked for 7-30pm ordered wine ,asked 3 times for a wine chiller before my daughter got up & got one for me .Service we found was bad due to one of the two waiters doing deliveries which were flying out the door.We began to wonder if the waiter doing the deliveries was also the chef as all the customers dining in the restaurant were still waiting for food ,we finally got our food at 9pm we saw one customer walk out as he had been waiting too long another table were still waiting after 2 hours when we finally left and customers were getting aggitated.Never going back

First off I'd like to say that the customer service was very good. But sadly that was where it ended. The food was shockingly overpriced, flavours were terrible in my chicken korma and my husband's chicken tikka. All the food was extremely watery and stone cold. But the worst buy was the amount of gristle and tendons in my chicken. It almost made me physically sick. Disappointed as we've been told good things, but will not be ever going here again.

We have been using Joy Bangla since it first opened several years ago. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent and piping hot. There is plenty of choice on the menu and they are happy to prepare dishes to customers liking- the special garlic chicken is a favourite of ours along with the dansaks, spinach dishes and lovely crispy onion bhaji. Like all restaurants it can get busy on a weekend so if you prefer a more relaxed meal why not try Sunday or week nights!

We regularly order takeaway from the online Joy Bangla restaurant and have been so impressed with how quick it has arrived and the food is always piping hot. They provide a ranger of delicious food hence why we use them time and time again. We've also visited the restaurant before and have been very pleased with the level of service and food. I would definitely recommend Joy Bangla to anyone!

Guys, what has gone on with this place, collection time given of 25 mins, still waiting after 30 mins of sitting in your shop, got home which is just round the corner and food was cold!!! Sort it out!! We will be going else were from now on and not recommending you again!!!

Myself and three friends went new years eve having booked our table for 8 pm we were hoping for a good night !!!! unfortunately this was not to be we waited and we waited our food finally arrived at our table at 10-45 .Many people at lest ten had got up and left the restaurant with out eating who had also been waiting for at least two hours or more .when the food finally arrived some of it was cold and had to be sent back . I have to say we were dreadfully disappointed by every thing from service to food after quit a heated conversation with the manager we left never to return .

Terrible, awful service. Have ordered from this place twice now - never again. First time, the delivery driver walked off with my change which was nearly £5, just assuming that she could.....I had to call her back! Second time, have been waiting for an hour and a half. Ridiculous excuses which make no sense! Avoid at all costs!

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend. It is small & local. However the welcome was warm & the food was excellent. Hot & very tasty. Great vfm as well. Will definitely be making a return visit in the near future.

Medium size restaurant, very friendly staff, good welcome by owner Hussain, lots of dishes that I have not seen elsewhere and Hussain is always on hand to advise and explain the spices, strengths etc. Had the chicken towa, ( hope I have spelt it correctly), very nice and just the right heat level for me, rest of the group had jalfrezi, railway lamb plus the usual rices, Bombay aloo breads etc, all agreed it was an excellent meal and reasonably priced, highly recommended if you are in the area.

We go to Joy Bangla quite often. Its a small restaurant that does good deals on a Monday/Tuesday nights & gets very busy at weekends. The food is always very good & they are happy to tailor the dishes to your particular taste. Staff are friendly & very welcoming. Would recommend

Ever since I moved to Cheshunt about 6 years ago my cousins always recommended this to me, and we have been back ever since! The food is Divine, the service is very good. They also do takeaways which is very handy for the Friday nights! See you there soon!

Been to this indian restaurant a few time busy place quite small good food does what it says on the tin would recommend.

Having been a regular customer of this restaurant for many years I was appalled at the poor service, rudeness of staff and very poor quality of food. I can only assume that it is under new management. I can safely say that we will not be visiting/ordering from here in the foreseaable future.Our delivery was late and missing several dishes. I rang to ask that the rest be delivered. No apology was offered and the very rude man just kept saying that I would have to pay for the extra dishes. I said that was ridiculous given the amount we had already paid and requested a reciept with our forgotten dishes. Having been promised we would recieve said dishes within 15 minutes we waited over half an hour. Reciept was not brought so we refused to pay 'extra' - we had already checked prices and knew we hadnt underpaid. So finally an hour and a half after ordering we finally had our takeaway ready to eat. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Insipid flavours and watery sauces in the biryani curry. The balti was pure paste and extremely salty. The pathia was a pale imitation of what it should be. In summary then, my advice would be do not waste your time and money; there are other good indian restaurants locally so go there instead we certainly will be!!

We have been going here for years. It is a warm and friendly restaurant, with excellent food and attentive service. Ask for your food as you like it, they are always happy to adjust to your taste. Extra chilli... No onion.. No problem.Such a lovely place.

We only ever take away from here and the food never disappoints it is always of high quality as well as the service when picking up, or by the delivery, everyone is always very friendly and welcoming and as I said food is definitely consistent and tastes great.

In fact we were the only customers. We were made very welcome, We ordered papppdoms, a prawn rezala and lots of vegetable/rice dishes, all of which were very good apart from a vegetable curry - a lot of sauce with very few vegatables. We would go again as the rest of our food was very good indeed, each dish having distinctive flavour and character.

We only order from this Restaurant, they know us my name (well,adress) and are always friendly.Everytime we have ordered from somewhere else we have always regretted it and gone straight back to them. We love the madras and pathia. They are brilliant. If you haven't already try them out

We recently had a meal in Joy Bangla and it was the best Indian food we had eaten in some time. All dishes were delicious and of excellent quality. The staff and service was friendly and helpful and the Cobra was icy cold!
