Spice Lounge in Charnwood

Food is brilliant! Such a good restaurant but the takeaway side is awful. If you order in their app and it says an hour….itcan be 20 minutes or 2 hours! Ordered tonight, missing two paid items and 2 hours late. We had to re-heat some of the food whilst the missing part was delivered

Honestly best Indian take out I’ve ever had 10/10

Sent 2 wrong items and some items cold

food was too salty, overcooked and everything was far too spicy. disappointing as usually a brilliant meal. seems like a different chef from normal.

Long delivery times tonight (over and hour) and the food wasn’t the warmest but still as tasty as always.

Ordered takeaway for collection. Menu I picked up advised of 10% discount above £12 on collection orders. Or free delivery within 4 miles. I didnt recieve the discount which im not happy about. However, i did get some complimentry pakoras so that was a very nice touch. They were good. Main dish was ok - made with fresh ingredients though but totally unlike from other establishments so i found that rather odd. I would probably use again. The resturant was busy. Staff were very nice.

Food was lovely. Asked for no coriander and sometimes from other restaurants it comes a little bland but this wasn’t still packed all the flavour. Got two bags of small bhaji bites aswell really nice.

food turned up cold had to microwave it to heat it up , sauce separated leaving a watery substance on the plate, no taste other then tomatoes, sugar very disappointed for £26.00 chicken tikka rice and d nan

I asked for less oil in the curry which they normally accommodate but this time it was full of oil and so I couldn’t eat it. Waste of money

Spice Lounge is a fantastic curry house. My family and friends eat there all the time and are never disappointed. They provide excellent service and the food is outstanding. I’ve tried many curry houses all over the UK and Spice Lounge is definitely up there with my favourites, and luckily it’s in my home town!!

awful place! please avoid at all costs we had to wait over 1 hour and 20 min for a PICK UP ORDER!! no offer of compensation or apology. other food has been spoilt due to delay in cooking.

When we first ordered at 6:30, it was supposed to arrive by 7:25. This then changed to 7:45, then 8, then 8:20 until finally chasing up the restaurant to be given an estimated arrival of 8:45. The food came at 8:50. We order from here all the time and absolutely love the food- it was amazing as always. Just annoying that it took 2 hours and 20 minutes to arrive!!

just called in for a treat to take home. very generous portions and great flavour to the spinach m spud meal. a classic Indian dish sag aloo. the restaurant was busy and I had to return. why? I left my phone in my rush to return home! friendly staff had put my phone in safe keeping. hope to return with my wife to give her a full evening meal treat during Ramadhan.

This place is so frustrating! The food is always great...but it's also ALWAYS late. Don't believe a thing of what their estimated times state, this was the second time in a row we've had to chase. I get that a Saturday night is busy, but if you can't deliver in the time stated, then don't state it to begin with! But, excellent meal as always.

Abit hit & miss, had food delivered to us which is nice food but just luke warm sometimes even cold, every time you ring to chase the order after been given a time there waiting on drivers to distribute the food, told 1 hour 20 mins, took 1 hour 50 mins, previously had to wait longer, id rather the honesty that way I can order earlier or not bother at all, rather than take the money, forgot stuff and get told to mention it in the next order as can’t give a time on the item to be delivered, so abit poor on a mistake that we have to suffer for after paying, restaurant is 5*, delivery and service quite poor, not the first time either now. Probably won’t bother again with them very frustrating & i wouldn’t recommend anymore now.

All food was delivered, was missing the Coke, rang up and got it sorted within seconds and wasn’t waiting for the Coke for a long time at all, very speedy and very professional.

Our meal arrived an hour late. The food was cold and one item was missing. Don’t accept orders if you are not able to fulfil them.

We have ordered from here several times and the food is often very late. Ordered at 6.30, food delivered at 8.35pm.

Loved the Naan, Samosa, rice wasn’t so keen on the curry but they accommodated my requests and the food was delivered hot so can’t complain.

Pre ordered at 4.30pm, 7pm still not arrived given we are literally 5 minutes down the road. Not great service, always takes excessive time when ever we order. Only ordered 3 dishes too! Food is good sadly massively let down by delivery times and not for the first time.

Expected a later delivery due to being NYE but some do the order wasn’t to standard

Always a fabulous place to visit, as a couple, with family, or as a group of friends. Ripon and Miah always recognise us and warmly welcome us - they even remember which is our favourite table and what dishes we’ve had lately - such an excellent personal service. The food is always fantastic and friends will comment it’s the best curry they’ve had. The only star I’ve dropped is for atmosphere because it can be a little bright in the evening for a “date night” and if dimmers were added it would be perfect - but that’s just our personal preference. Cannot rate highly enough. It’s our go to restaurant for a weekly night out, or a special occasion.

The food is always great but this was nearly 2 hours late. Last few times the food has been so late or bits missing. It wasn’t that hot either! Really disappointing

We ordered at 6:30pm it arrived at 8:30pm! 2 hours late. Food was cold. Not enough chutneys despite ordering (and paying for) extra portions. Food was bland. Really disappointed. Rang restaurant and got the impression they were prioritising food ordered through their website rather than just eat. Did not care how late our order was. AVOID

On the two previous occasions, we have had a very good delivery and food experience. However, this time, it was very disappointing. It was a Saturday evening and so we accepted the quoted delivery time of 60 to 70 minutes. After 85 minutes the food arrived, but we discovered there was no scampi with the order of “scampi, chips and salad”. The Vegetable Balti was only warm, and the onion slices too large and undercooked. The Onion Bharji and Saag Bhaji were nice, but overall the food was inferior to previous times, including the Tandoori King Prawn Main.

Went in and ordered to go. The little service I had was amazing, and the food was ready promptly. Was an amazing and filling meal for a good price, and to top it off, there was a 10% discount for ordering at the restaurant to go! If you're looking for a great Indian/Bangladeshi meal to take home in Shespshed, I would 1000% recommend the spice lounge. Am looking forward to going again and having a meal inside the restaurant next time!

Curry wasn't hot when it arrived, and the chips were cold and the naan bread too. The flavour was lovely again but would recommend dining in to avoid disappointment.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Packed full of flavour. The butter chicken had to be the best iv ever had and iv had alot. Keema rice with loads of meat. The keema naan was perfect. Will order all my currys from here from now on. Also an hour early on a Friday night amazing

We ordered a takeaway from here. We have nothing but praise for The Spice Lounge, from ordering the food by phone, to the estimated delivery time, which was accurate. The food was hot and everything tasted delicious, thoroughly enjoyed by us all. 10/10 would definitely recommend and when we visit this area again, we know who to order from.

Great dinner out at Spice Lounge..Table for four tonight, took our own alcoholic drinks. . so already not an expensive night out (glass of ice and one of lemonade for the mixers was brought to the table). Cheerful welcome and relaxing atmosphere, sure we'll keep coming back :) Back again..Definitely a good night tonight. Spice Lounge was packed. Food came in good time, couple of birthdays so everyone sang along. A good atmosphere all night. Happy days:)

Rice was fine but curries had barely any meat and were bland in flavour. Naan was half crispy and half soggy. Overall, really disappointing. Sorry but would not order from here again.

takeaway ,food not very good ,in fact not brilliant,,mixed grill was a joke, just a few bits all , a soggy mess ,not worth £10 and small portions ,other stuff rubbish ,the only nice thing was the veg rice,i ve had better,,not impressed with the service, it came 20 mins early ,i will try somewhere else next time, its very expensive for what you get,,,i wouldn't recommend a takeaway from here

Just on the zebra crossing in Shepshed and I had to stop halfway across as their driver made no attempt to stop. I challenged him down Halcroft and got a couldn’t care less attitude. No more curries for us from here. Appalling driving and terrible attitude.

Food was disappointing. Chicken was quite hard and naan was overly thick and doughy. Curry wasn’t very flavoursome.

I only ever ordered from this restaurant. But over the last year the service have gone down hill. My order tonight was late yet again and stone cold!! Will never order again

Had a take away, food was cold so had 2 warm it up in the microwave ( could of brought 1 from Asda) curry wasn’t what we ordered as supposed 2 b with peppers but none, 4 got part of our order but it did arrive 10 mins later, very disappointed

Absolutely appalling curry delivered. All 4 x curry's were just chicken in a very thin consistency sauce....most ended being thrown away, if it wasn't for the starters , the £70 takeaway would have been a complete disaster. Won't be ordering again
