we live 5 mins from restaurant, ordered for 6.50pm, delivered at 6.10. Starters were only just warm and didn't taste freshly cooked. mains were average at best. definitely won't bother again

Flavourless, rice had a mud/pond water taste, keema nan might as well been a plain nan. Only recommendation is to go elsewhere.

Poor quality food. Undercooked curry sauces and over cooked meat, undercooked pakoras, out of date poppadoms and tasteless pilau rice.

The best Indian restaurant in Leicester. Never had a bad meal and we go at least twice a month. The staff are so friendly and accommodating.

The rice was swimming in water. The poppadoms were stale. The chicken was as pale as anything. the curry must of been cooked in the rice water again so watery only picked this place because of the views wow never again

Great local food, the (delivery only) set meals have great options, plenty of variety, and definitely make it more affordable.

Tenía las pokoras de queso, mi marido tenía el tikka de pollo para empezar. Tuve el cordero biryani y el marido el pollo bhuna. Habrá vuelto a reservar para otra puesta al día en diciembre.

Food delivered after waiting well over an hour, and was it worth waiting for..? Not really no... Onion bahaji far too oily and small, paratha cold and dry, masala very sweet, enough to be a pudding not a main... and I was expecting 2 portions of poppadoms, not 2 single slightly oily poppadoms... For the money, I won't be ordering from here again... I'd look at your options, there is much better elsewhere to be had. Simply cannot understand the rave reviews to be honest...

We attended the dining room as a party of 17 last night to celebrate my mums 60th. The staff went the extra mile from start to finish. They helped me decorate the room and fulfilled all of my requests. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the food, we were all catered for and looked after, everything arrived on time and was all piping hot. Thank you all again for a fantastic evening!

Food was great as usual just half an hour late

The food is always hot, fresh and feels clean on the palate. Menu is extensive. Drivers are always polite and kind. They regularly have delivery times between an hour and an hour and a half however they often deliver before this time.

Worst Indian food ever….. we ordered butter chicken and chicken wings. If you are Indian you will definitely not like it. Hopefully their other foods are good o have no clue how they are getting such good reviews. No spices and no masala’s just tomato puree and chicken. Never gonna order again.

The dining room is local to us & offers really fresh, authentic & delicious food at a good price. We can bring our own alcohol so I chose one of my fave pink rose which can be purchased next door. We chose a Tuesday to visit for our first meal , the service was wonderful, the Makhani curry was really yummy, mushroom rice & pishwari naan all hit the spot. My only gripe was how small the portion of rice was hence 4 / 5 star! Apart from that it was a thoroughly enjoyed meal. We'll be back!

First order from here, have to say it is the best curry I’ve had in quite some time, the food arrived early, it wasn’t overly expensive and minimum order also wasn’t too bad, which was good as ordering only for myself today, will 100% be ordering from these again, many thanks to the kitchen staff

We visited tonight having never been before but having 2 hours to kill while our daughters were at the Outdoor pursuits centre. We ordered from the £14.95 set menu. The value for money was fantastic, with popadoms, starter, main and a cream coffee for that price. The food and service was really good and we'd would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I thought the food would have been spicy, it was nice but I expected a bit more flavour

My child , wife and I enjoyed an authentic Indian dishes especially Tandoori mixed grill and lamb Jalfrezi. I am truly amazed by the services and fantastic atmosphere in the restaurant. I would recommend to other at least try once , you won't be disappointed.

Ordered for collection taken away, was very quick and food was amazing, really fresh and great value for money. Very polite when I was collecting too. Will be ordering again, however we have tried to order a few times before but had no luck, the app is useless and never worked so we gave up and went elsewhere. Used the website this time and worked fine!

Food was early by 25 mins and was hot and delicious as always from this curry house! Will of course be ordering again!

Very polite waiter and young girl behind the counter was very helpful.starter fish was excellent.Both main courses were just to our liking.No after effects in morning after.When I go in next time I will ask for a more spicy one on the pickle tray.if one is available to go with the popperdoms.

Amazing food nice and hot 100 percent recommend

The food was bland i must say. I ordered a paneer tikka masala and got some sweet red coconut curry with paneer in it, ordered a tandoori chicken biriyani and even that was tasteless. After looking at the good reviews I realised its more catered for non Indian’s.

Had a takeaway ordered at 17.45 it turned up at 19.45 food was cold and the order of chicken tikka had hardly any chicken in it and the other dish we ordered murghi masala had no egg in it, and too much salt …. totally inedible.. We normally order from here, but this is the worst meal ever had…. Did ring up to let them know and complain about it and all they did was offer us a discount of our next order……. no way I’m ordering again.

We ordered a meal at 5.45 it did not arrive until 7.45. The murghi masala had no boiled egg and was full of salt, the tikka masala had very little chicken and the food was cold. We normally order from here but incredibly disappointed

Sheek kebab cold. Mushroom rice instead of Bhajee. Tarka Dhal watery. Rang and raised issue. Bhajee and Dhal delivered 40 minutes later with apologies. Chicken Tikka Massala just chicken and sauce so sweet it should of been a coconut pudding. Sorry sub standard and will not be recommending

Ordered a takeaway at 4.50pm online. The guy from the restaurant rang and asked what time would I like my delivery, I said 7pm , I rang at 7.20 he said be there in 20 minutes...no show I rang again at 7.50 he said the driver is on his way 10 -15 minutes..that's not on his way ?? What a joke..this is my first order and it will definitely be my last ..

After a two hour wait using the online site . We waited , and waited and waited , called and was cutted off four times . The delivery driver from the restaurant was going to be there in five minutes …….not . Food arrived eventually as we as as family exhausted by it all and ready to go to bed hungry . No apologies , the food was cold in fact disgusting and clearly rushed as in desperation of this cowboy operation that I would make this post . PLEASE AVOID THIS AWFUL OPERATION .

Whenever I'm craving indian food Dining Room is my go-to restaurant, Food is delightful and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Do try their Chicken tikka masala you will sure fall in love with it!! 😍

Awesome presentation and delicious food! I tried the chicken tikka starter and the railway lamb which was as delicious as it was presented too, fantastic food, fantastic staff and buzzing atmosphere!

OMG, this is not authentic Indian cuisine, never have I seen a brighter yellow korma sauce or red masala sauce which looked like it had come from a jar, I’ve eaten out at lots of curry houses in the city and this was the worst yet. The sauce was so sweet and no texture at all, like it had been blended and the chicken just mixed into it at the last minute. Curry is not meant to be this colour, overloaded with food colouring and aesthetically very off putting. I was so disappointed as it was my parents 85th Birthday and they didn’t enjoy it. The venue was uninviting and it was freezing in there, the place was empty and now I know why. Will definitely not be going back there

Absolutely terrible. Ordered a meal for delivery. The Chicken Tikka Biryani was bland and dry. The curry sauce???? Was flavourless and a load of frozen veg chucked in. The naan bread had definitely never seen any cheese, let alone garlic. For the price there are much better, and fresher restaurants in the local area.

Credit where credit is due.. a hidden gem .. excellent throughout from the service to the food. We had a 4 course meal for £14.95 each. We previously had a takeaway and really enjoyed that, so thought we would try it out. I’m adding a photo of our starter as we was amazed not only by how good it taste, but the presentation also. 10/10.

Tastes nice, was a little overcooked and watery but tasted lovely still. They did forget one of the naan breads though.

Excellent food at a very good price and very good service, hence highly recommended.

If you want to have a good curry and avoid the busy city centre then the Dining Room is a great choice if you are in the north of the city. The restaurant is not licenced but soft drinks are available; there are set up to deal with anyone bringing their own alcohol. There is a shop next door if you forget to take supplies from home. Polite friendly staff and reasonably priced top quality meals were enjoyed by all seven of us this evening. I look forward to going again and trying other dishes from their menu. Highly recommended.

The food is beautiful, well flavoured 10/10

The food came late and extremely cold. Had to re-heat it in the air fryer. The food was tasteless, no flavour and the Raitha was just plain yoghurt. Avoid at all costs!

One of the best curries we’ve had in a long time, hot and full of flavour, will certainly be back more regularly after that!

Two of the three dishes was very watery and cold and the nan was very thick and the onion bhajis was swimming in grease

Starters were bland (chicken bigs and samosas; latter was 3 small ones and crispy - prefer the more authentic large pastry ones) but mains and naan were delicious (lamb shatkora and lamb korma)

The order was an hour late and turned up cold. Having rang the restaurant to say it was cold I was shouted at. A nice gentlemen took over the call and told me to contact just eat for a refund.

I have enjoyed countless meals at dining room Indian restaurant with numerous people food and service always fantastic and excellent value for money ?

First of all was delivered very quickly considering it was a £42 order 20 minutes was a little worrying ...also items missing and considering this was a £42 order why would there not be some free poppadoms or dips .....this restaurant has gone awful and it is clearly new people ....I won't be using again I've had spicier gravy than dining rooms madras .overpriced and tastes awful !

My murghi masala didn’t have the egg and blew my head off jalfrezi had one slice of pepper naan bread cold don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but over the last year our meals have been either very salty or just not enjoyable gave it one last try and yet again disappointed won’t be trying again sorry

Set menu is great value for money and very tasty

Very dissatisfied both Nan breads were cold and the chicken in both of the chicken dishes were awful felt rubbery and tasted like the chicken had been reheated no flavour what’s so ever extremely disappointed

Close to a one star. We had a delivery and it was luke warm on arrival despite us being only a mile down the road. The food quality was terrible. The prawns in the prawn curry were tiny and looked more like shrimp. The chicken was tiny chinks of what tasted like frozen processed chicken from the supermarket. The sauces were ok but bland. We also had the mixed grill which was at least ok but the flavours again not great. Portions were tiny across the board. I understand the food is inexpensive when ordered from the app. but the minimum criteria has it be that it beats what we could do at home and this was nowhere near that. We really were looking forward to trying this out since it’s our local so it’s disappointing to have to write a review like this. My advice would be to put your prices up a few £ per dish and focus on quality ingredients and flavours.

Worst smallest portion ever, people are finding times hard, if you can’t produce the goods you might as well give up, small containers for a Indian restaurant? Never again £40 odd pound order for 2 adults 2 kids straight dish and rice yes £10 each wow But would be more full up on beans on toast

Fantastic meal for the four of us - plenty of tasty scrumptious food - will return although live in Nottingham Starters of onion bhaji chicken pekora and vegetable samosas all tasty and beautifully presented Mains of ling prawn biryani and chicken manchurian and tandoori chicken rogan Josh and Railway lamb great taste and plenty to eat. Highly recommended
