RUDE!! not only did we not get what we thought we had ordered!! But when we phoned up to ask about why we didn't receive what we ordered... we were told we got what we ordered and the phone slammed down on us. Apparently a chicken tikka kebab doesn't come with nan or pitta?! It's just abit of chicken chucked on some chips!! We had a similar thing happen to us about 12 months ago but thought we would give then a second chance!!! They won't be getting a third!!

Been here numerous times and foods always been amazing. The best fish pakoras ever! Staff are also super friendly. Will be back again.

Just ordered a pizza, chips and korma which arrived clap cold. Rang them and they said they can’t guarantee hot food!? Is that not what you order a takeaway for? Surely if it’s going to be cold when it gets to you, it shouldn’t be delivered so far. Nowhere on the website did it say they didn’t guarantee it to be warm or I would not have ordered!! Also found a short black hair cooked into the pizza. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would not recommend!!!!

I will keep it simple, the half filled mango chutney tubs and watered down yoghurt sauce didn't start us out well. Starters.... bad. Main course...bad. Never had a take away this bad in 40 years. Summary... bland, no flavour.

Really bad, such a shame as we’ve been using Spice Cottage for years. It has been dwindling for a couple of years now but last nights takeout was really disappointing. Around 3 pieces of donner meat in a small pitta for £5!! Everything else over cooked. Wish it could go back to the old Spice Cottage but think that was the last time we will be ordering from Spice Cottage again.

Ordered take away and over an hour from its due delivery time has not yet arrived. Phone on voicemail not returning calls. I appreciate they are busy but if they can't fulfil the order they shouldn't accept it or your money. Terrible

Visited over the weekend for the first time, and unfortunately, won’t be returning despite a tasty and generously portioned main fish course. The venue completely lacks any ambience or vibe, the lighting is far too bright for evening dining and the staff, whilst smartly dressed and outnumbering the diners, completely lacked attention to detail in service. We weren’t given plates for our popadoms and dips and so had to ask for some, which took rather too long to arrive, but the popadoms were disappointing cold and slightly stale anyway. The starters were very average, thankfully tasting better than they looked, though we were asked twice if we had finished whilst we were still clearly eating. When we moved onto our mains, the cutlery was slid across the table to us in a haphazard fashion. We were then provided with cold plates which completely ruined what could have been a good main course if it had been served correctly. The main courses were generous in size and tasty but the efforts of the chef were wasted by providing cold ceramic plates. It’s a shame, the venue is a good size and it’s well located and so should be thriving but the handful of folk in there on a Saturday night was a reflection that there are far better local alternatives.

Since it’s been taken back by the original owners! Spice Cottage has claimed its throne back of being the best curry house in all of Yorkshire! Dare I say maybe even the country! Food has got such authentic flavours, you can really taste the freshness of each dish and will cater to all your needs. Service was spot on could not fault it and the new decor has definitely enhanced the restaurant! Looking forward to coming back and seeing the business grow again 😊

Recently moved into the area and I could not have been more pleased with the food! Arrived 15 mins early and the delivery driver was really happy and polite! A credit to your business.

We had a take-a-way delivered last night 13th July 2019, the meal arrived 15 mins early which makes a change and was pipping hot and very nice. Will be using Spice Cottage again.

Naan was very dry, rice very greasy and the curry tasted of nothing! I actually tweaked the curry by adding some stuff, just to make it a bit more edible and it was ok. Staff are miserable and slow. Not impressed, won’t be back.

Went in as I heard the original owner has took this place back on, glad he did too the food was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent too. Can't wait too go back in this weekend.

To say I waited 2 hours for a watery bland madras and overly deep fried bhajis I shall not be ordering again.

10 mins late, no apology or notice. Pizza, curry and rice = COLD. Only 1/2 tub full of rice. Balti did taste very nice once microwaved.

The jalfrezi would have been great but the food was luke warm, first time we have been let down, hope it is the last as we enjoy the foid from here, would rather wait longer for hot food.

Undercooked pale chips, rubbery donner and naan. Lukewarm. Not very pleasant which surprising as been good from here before. Disappointed.

The food quality was really rubbish it was all mainly watery and didn’t tast nice it just tasted bland. As I am feeling today is very Unwell and so is my partner. We will not be ordering again.

Went in after work was shattered and gladly this didn’t disappoint, friendly service and food was delicious. Me and the Mrs was stuffed. I’m glad I chose this place, will be going back soon.

absolutely disgusting service, I ordered a 16" pizza and a tub of garlic when it arrived the tub had melted because the geniuses put a shabby plastic tub in with piping hot food and went over 5/8 of the pieces when we rang up we got attitude and was told all there pizzas go out like that then hung up. contacted just eat then they rang the takeaway, when they got back on the phone to us we was told they refused to re send our order or refund it. The box is soaked majority of the pizza covered in sauce i wouldn't recommend going here at any point this was my first and last order

food wasn’t that hot considering how far away they were. and donner needs more flavour and thinner strips as was quite thick and tasted a bit watery

food was approx 1 hr late - it was not hot when we received it and the fish tikka starter was a fish pakora ? we ordered the burgers for our grandchildren and arriving at 9 o’clock was very late for a 4 and 8 yr old to be eating. Very disappointed

My order was wrong I ordered the tandoori meal and got tandoori curry with chaptti

Ordered the Asian style pizza, chips and a large yogurt sauce. Really enjoyed it. Delivery was early and driver was a gentleman also. Based on this I would definitely order again.

The cheese on pizza was off . and was little burnt they wouldn't refund and sent a other late atnight I explained I want refund and I was not going to wake my disabled child up to eat late . n the trust was broke they said that's how bbq chicken pizzas taste and r burnt . I have reported to trade standards could made my daughter poorly check other reviews the person was greedy to give refund no consideration for a child's needs

Forgot our cans of pop, there's no option to order kebab with no sauce so had to pick chilli and write in the comments section that I didn't want sauce and it came smothered in it. Chips were really undercooked and greasy burnt mixed starter. Curry was super sweet and burger dry and awful. The chapatti are nice though

Starters were far too tough. Main course just didn't do anything for me. Big shame really because it was highly recommended to me.

Takeaway arrived after driver couldn’t find address, food was cold, Bhuna was tasteless and bland unless you love a plate full of corriander, popadoms were rubbery obviously old, not a good experience will not order again.

I have been going to Spice Cottage for quit a few year ( i won't go anywhete else) i even have my own romantic table for 1 lol I go every Friday evening without fail, the portions are a great size and the garlic naan breads are to die for, all the staff are friendly and helpfull, and allways make a fuss when you arrive, and Mo couldn't be more helpfull, nothing is too much trouble, i also never feel rushed and chill there for ages, i luv it, i have been known to go on a Tuesday as well as a Friday, im just addicted to the curry, all in all an excellent place, and only 5 minutes away.😊 Cheers Mo.👍👍

Not had food from here in a while and now I remember why, both curry’s were watery and tasteless. If you are the owner and you are reading this I suggest sacking your chief as I’ve had better curry’s in a microwave meal.

Ordered from here plenty of times but this time the curries where watery, no flavour at all. Chicken pakora very nice, I could have just eaten them ..

this was all disgusting. the mixed starter was all hard and really dry as if it had been cooked many days ago and just re heated. the madras I ordered was sloppy and tasteless and had hardly any spice or flavour. the chappatis were also dry, too thick and hard. the worst food I can remember having.

chapaties were hard and crispy, I ordered pilla rice and got given normal, asked for extra crispy onions and didn't get them with my dopiazza and I still got charged for the rice I didn't receive

Ordered from here before & it as always been lovely. when i phoned restaurant after an hour to see why my food was late I was told the driver was already on his way with my order. my food eventually turned up over 2 & a half hours late & was so cold it went in the bin.

Worst order yet, I ordered 3 chicken burgers, And they gave me the wrong type of chicken, the compressed patty, instead of the fillet. The order arrived early, the chips were terrible, I had to bin them, they were re-heated maybe twice. I'm never going to order from here again. I even asked them to make the food fresh in the notes, very unhappy, since this was to open iftari which I explained to them in the notes, food was barely edible. Tasted like cardboard.

Hardly any chicken in the curry, no flavour to it. All it tasted like was onions. Four pieces of chicken tikka for £3 as well. The only nice thing was the pizza, food was late and luke warm

First of all the customer service was terrible. I am a regular customer and i just got totally fobbed off. When you pay good money for food you expect to get a level of service worth paying for. I ordered 2 deep pan pizzas and they came thin pan. Crispy cold flat and burnt. I rang then to ask if they could rectify this for me and he told me that's how they come. No form of compensation they just put the phone down on me. Absolutely disgusting service I will not be returning and i advise you to spend your money some Were you might get a bit of respect.

We ordered an Asian special pizza, it was meant to have Keema, tikka, onions and peppers but instead it came with the meat and then Donner on- no veg which was disappointing. Curry lacked spice and flavour and chips were undercooked. Big difference in taste of food in the space of a few weeks. Overall good value for money but would expect order to be right next time.

I ordered at about 19:30 and delivery promised for about 20:30, contacted by phone at 21:11 and was told it was on its way and arrived about 30 minutes later. (Restaurant is 5 mins away)The note added about coming to the back door was not taken notice of and the Korma did not have much lamb in it.

Slight mix up with the order but was refunded the amount and issued with an apology. Thankfully the order I received was still something I really enjoyed!

Restaurant clearly cant take an order correctly... My burger was NOT a fillet burger like i ordered, also no salad or sauce and it was cold... rung takeaway up and told them about it, my partner got told it would get sorted and sent out. We waited 25 mins and still no burger, partner rings takeaway back and person on phone is adamant they put it on, when clearly they hadnt.. My food is sat in front of me untouched! Not happy they lied and refused to sort it out!!

Finally some decent Donner meat! Been Searching for a good Donner meat Takeaway since our old one changed their meat to a different sort, came very thick and tasted fowl! This was thinking, tasty, as we wanted! Food was hot, exactly as we specified specifically. Don't change your Donner meat like other takeaways do and we will remain life long customers! Thanks for such good service guys.

We normally eat In the reatraunt as the food is lovely but thought we would give the take away a try. Food was as nice and pricing is good too. Would definitely recommend to people.

Anyway we tucked in and the first mouth full was like eating a spoon of salt! To the point we both instantly spat it out my partner said his was salty as did i i tasted his he tasted mine the madras was however much saltier than the masala and that was inedible but the madras was just pure salt and vile! Both curries were swimming in Ghee which you do expect with curries but not to the point it had separated completely from all the curry and had made its own puddle! The meat was absolutely disgusting. Reported to the food standards agency as the salt content in both thoses meals must be higher than my yearly amount not just my daily avoid at all costs in my opinion as they wont give a refund without having the food back! Eeeeeeww!

Basic. White rice for pilau, the most rubbery garlic nan I’ve ever had. And a chicken masala with spinach(a speciality) was tasty but that’s it.

Nice food and delivered a little early.

First time for us but will definatly go again. The Aisan style part of the menu is the best we have had in a long time. The service was effieciant and helpfull with choices. Definatly recommend a visit.
