Great food, easy access venue with lots of parking. Food was well presented and of good quality. Nicely mood lit for good ambience but exterior and website slightly old fashioned pics do not do it justice! Staff were so like and hospitable. Restaurant was full so venue acoustics a little difficult. Suggest a few plants, better lighting and something to break up the interior to create a bit of ambience. Marketing and website update would also help provide this restaurant generate the wider popularity it undoubtedly deserves. Chance finding with friends but will be back again soon hopefully!

We have eaten at Spice previously and have always had excellent food and service hence we chose Spice to cater for our birthday celebration evening. We wanted to leave a review to say how really good the Spice team was. The food was excellent, service was first class and the guys tidied up everything at the end. Would highly recommend.

We visited this evening for mine and my father in laws birthday and the food and service were amazing! I had The tandoori salmon and it was beautifully cooked with loads of flavour! We will definitely be returning soon!

We were the only patrons that lunch time ... sad, food was excellent ... tried two of their specials, rice, paratha and aloo gobi ... absolutely will go again (possibly 3 of us next time)

Never been to this restaurant before and decided to try it! WoW - What a fantastic place!!! Food was terrific (Tasty, hot, flavoursome delicately spiced - superb! Simple things like the mango Chutney - best I have ever tried), the wine / great choice and very drinkable unlike many India restaurants! / fresh lowers on the table / great décor / wide range of curries on offer / great service and beautiful ambient setting

Went into The Spice Restaurant the other night.  The owner recognized me from previous visits.  I had the Korma curry which was so bland there was hardly any spicy flavour at all. This would be a good beginners curry.  They have loads of dishes with varying degrees of spiciness.  I love their own recipe West meets East dish.  I found that the staff were all so friendly and helpful I will definitely be going there again. 

Simply the best curry we have had since being in India. Authentic, tasty, no artificial colourings, good service and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

We booked on Saturday night at the last minute and were delighted to see so many customers inside. Although the restaurant was full plus a very busy evening for takeaway orders, which are always extremely popular, the service was excellent and the food was impeccable. We decided to eat our favourite starter as always - Crocodile Tears which we recommend everyone to try. Main course - Bhuna salmon and Jalfrezi fish with Naan bread and Pilau rice. Kudos to the waiters, always present at every table and always quick to accommodate every request. A big thank you to the owner Sultan for his kindness and availability, and as always, we look forward to visiting his restaurant again soon.

On Friday night we went to The Spice restaurant in Virginia Water. We had booked a few days in advance to reserve a table. I remember that we had previously been to this restaurant a few years back and we liked the location very much, of course also the food otherwise we would not have returned. When we arrived, the reception of the staff was 100% professional, they accompanied us to the table, (in other restaurants it happens that we are shown with the hand where to sit). The restaurant had been renovated in a simple but elegant way without exceeding luxury, air conditioning inside the room, beautiful clientele. We went with the chef's recommendation to try their specialities and we decided to order a portion of: Crocodile Tears, the dish was described to us in detail, a little sceptical we took only one portion to share. I still remember the expression on my partner's face when initially tasting that dish. An explosion of flavours filled our mouth, we immediately decided to order another portion so that we each had our own dish. We were also advised to squeeze a few drops of lemon on the food and still new flavours emerged in our mouth. If that dish had been a painter's canvas and the combination of those flavours had been the colours, surely, we would have seen a beautiful picture. Later we chose to eat Sea Bass, all the ingredients were balanced, no one exceeded the other, all-in a perfect balance like the notes written on a pentagram to form sweet music. We continued to order another speciality from the chef, Chicken Shogondha, accompanied by Nan Bread and Pilau Rice, what to say for those who love chicken I recommend trying it, what surprised us with this dish the quantity of chicken, but above all the size of their pieces. All the dishes were presented in an impeccable way, and it is really true that you eat first with your eyes and then with your mouth. In all this I would also like to mention the waiters, who were very kind and professional, a great chef and certainly the biggest compliments to the owner Sultan who is always present in the room to ensure everything is perfect for his customers and making us happy to have spent a truly pleasant evening at The Spice.

I went into the Spice Restaurant the other night.  The staff all remembered me from previous visits, even though I had not been back since I don't know when.  I had the Lamb Balti and Bombay Agoo (spicy spuds) which was delicious.  I will definitely be going back to the Spice Restaurant again. 

I was here for dinner last night the waiters were friendly, polite and very welcoming the restaurant itself was very clean and well presented the food was served promptly and well prepared with the restaurant close to the station would be excellent stop on my way home from a visit to the lakes

If I could rate this less than terrible I would. The staff did not welcome us at all and were so rude as soon as we came in. They were more interested in watching videos on their phones rather than serve us even though the place was empty. We finally got asked what drinks we wanted but the waiter walked off completely ignoring the third persons order for 10 minutes. Secondly we ordered a mixed grill to start and it was the most ridiculous mixed grill I’ve ever eaten: 1 prawn, 1 kebab, 2 pieces of tandoori chicken and 1 chicken leg all for £13?!?!. Finally the mains was the worst course of them all. 0 flavour, 3 pieces of meat in each curry and they literally bulked up the rest with tomatoes. Each dish was also around £13 so it was better off to order a veg curry for half the price seeing as we had 0 meat. Just to top things off when the bill came, the staff had the nerve to add service charge which I told them to remove due to their rude service and the response I got was unbelievable. Instead of apologising like any other restaurant, this peasant of a waiter had the nerve to question me and get so rude back to myself and my mother. At this point I had had enough and walked out after paying the bill. Please please avoid this! You’re better off spending £90 odd pounds at McDonalds 4 times over than this dump

This was my first time here and it is very stylish and smart looking although the large mirror wall is a bit disconcerting. I came with a friend on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday but the atmosphere was dead. We arrived at 8pm and there were two other people eating and a few people waiting for take aways. By 9.30pm we were the only people in there and yet we were given a two seat table not a 4 seat one. The other couple had a four seat table. So it was very cramped with the various dishes, glasses etc on the table, especially as they didn’t clear any empty dishes away once we had eaten the food up. If the restaurant had been full up I could have understood this. I did suggest to a waitress that we should have been a bigger table but she said nothing. The staff were polite enough but not over chatty. The food was very good quality and really tasty. Portions were not huge so I didn’t feel completely stuffed which was good. The food was not put on a heated plate (not that there would have been room on the table) but served in stylish white dishes. I had the king prawn on puri followed by chicken tikka masala with naan and pumpkin bhaji (the latter was really good). My friend had chicken tikka followed by a fish curry. The price was reasonable and we were given after eight mints (three between two of us). The toilet was huge, reasonably clean and on the same level. I would return because of the food quality but it was a bit disappointing that the place was so dead on a Saturday night and that we were so cramped at the table.

We are so happy to have discovered Spice. We ordered home delivery so I cannot review the location but the food was amazing. Delivery was right on time. We ordered the Lamb shank, which is described in the menu as the chef's special. The lamb was very nicely cooked, meat was very tender, the spices were mild and the onions so good. Their Chicken tandoori is tender and not dry at all. Lamb Tika massala and Chicken Korma for the kids were also very good. Dahl was great and mixed vegetable Curry hot but great for us who love spicy. Also very good value for money. I strongly recommend it!

Visited as close to the air bnb we were staying at. Best chicken shashlik I think I have ever had! Service was good, decor lovely, fab water feature at the back of the restaurant. Service charge added to the bill as stated before in reviews but this seems to be the norm in this area. This would be my local if I lived nearer, fabulous

This place came with a recommendation from someone who lives nearly 10 miles away - which goes some way to demonstrating how highly they think of it. It didn't disappoint, the food was delicious, generous & well presented. My daughter also loved the decor, there's a lovely water feature which she enjoyed facing whilst she ate her meal. Slightly on the pricey side for what it is, but it is in Virginia Water so what can you expect? Worth paying slightly extra for.

Came here with work colleague on a Tuesday evening. We didn’t have to book. Lots of menu choice. Went with bhajis and samosas to start. I had a mixed khorai and mushroom rice with a Bombay aloo. Great dishes, well prepared. Ate almost all. No room for desert.

We have been a few times, but since the last time we went they have completely re furbished it and it looks amazing and is much larger and airier. The food and service was excellent and they have really tried to up their game.

Very poor puri and nans. Very under cooked and too oily. We use this place as our local take-away-- but not anymore. Pity.

Just had a takeaway tonight, the Spice was extremely busy yet the quality was still great especially the vegetable curry, service was also the usual friendly approach, I will be back!

We took over the whole restaurant for a charity dinner for an Indian street kids project. Everyone seemed happy with the event - the staff were very friendly and accommodating about our various special requests. The food was excellent - spicy and light, not rich and heavy like traditional Indian restaurants in the UK. We chose this restaurant rather than other local ones because we had a number of Indian couples coming who recommended it.It one seats 26 people at the moment, but they will be expanding it shortly

The chicken tikka biriyani is a must here with generous portions of quality chicken offered. The vegetable curry is a tasty complement and the muttor paneer dish is definitely worth trying.

Great food and great service. A lovely cosy restaurant with loads of parking outside. Very close to Virginia Water train station and simple to find. It’s difficult to find any faults here and easy to find all of the positives.

We couldn't recommend The Spice more. The staff are friendly and genuinely passionate about the food. If you order a take away, they don't cook the naan bread until they know you are almost there to pick up so it is fresh. The food is delicious. They don't pretend to throw in additional food or drink to take aways because their food speaks for itself (and nothing is ever free!). As with most Indian restaurants, very good options for vegetarians and vegans.

My girlfriend and had just arrived in Virgina Water for the weekend and decided to go out for a meal out. After a short walk passed the 8-10 restaurant along Station Parade and Station Approach, we entered Indian Restaurant The Spice. The waiters were friendly and we found a place right at the back of the restaurant. My girlfriend has a coriander intolerance and we asked for a dish without coriander and were told that the Chicken Tandoori Masala with cocos was the only dish without coriander. Apparently all other dishes were prepared in the kitchen with pre-made sauces including coriander. The taste of this dish was not good, it was more like a Chicken/Coco soup. I chose the Mix Masala, which was good. Unfortunately the white wine was somehow a bit watery. The bill had another surprise... we to pay for the papadum and dip sauce which had been placed at the table without asking and there was a 10% service charge included. Maybe this is standard for UK but we are not used to this. We left the place with mixed feelings....

Ever since the tigers pad in sunningdale closed down we have been going to the spice. Absolutely the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten!! Presentation is excellent, taste incredible and staff fantastic! My parents go here a lot and every time we visit we request a visit also!

Sadly, this meal didn’t live up to the reviews on Trip Advisor. Under seasoned curries which tasted as though the sauces had been watered down. Chicken and lamb dishes both over cooked meat. I booked 3 weeks in advance for 9pm for 3 .... it was specific because we were attending PGA golf at wentworth ..... when we arrived they said NO !Booked for 730pm .No it was wasn't !!I was specific 9pm because of watching golf !They apologised again and said come back in 45 mins .So we went to wine bar then came back .Came back 1 hour later and was told sorry no table .Let down badly after 200 mile round trip and booking 6 weeks in advance .All about money and not usVery very very upset 0/10Will never go again,Goodbye Spice

Situated on a drab-looking shopping parade, but just 2 minutes walk from the train station. I was expecting standard, generic Indian food. In fact the food is great, fresh, and not overburdened with sauces. The vegi dishes are particularly good. Staff are friendly (Bangladeshi). The kitchen was spotless. Plus it is open 7 days a week! If you are taking a train or need a takeaway in the area, this is the answer to your problems.

I went on a Tuesday night and only me in. The service was a bit strange as I was left alone around the corner and the kitchen was noisy. The staff and owner are nice and friendly though. The food was really good except for a mishap with some chicken which they offered to rectify. The mixed kebab was good but perhaps a bit over cooked. The curry (naga) was great but some of the chicken was a bit odd. Rice was good but small portion and the sag aloo was perfect. Not far off being great and I think the chicken was an error which happens sometimes. Would try again but a bit expensive for it not to be perfect.

The restaurant is well decorated even though it's not massive, Food is brilliant and very well looked after by the attentive staffs. A must visit. Will definite visit again if we are down there.

Ordered takeaway was told 25 mins actually took 40, ordered 3 lamb bhunas got chicken, got charged for a starter that wasn't in the bag, nice food, little watery though and keema nan wasn't exactly full of lamb. really disappointed with service. If the place is so busy that you can't hear the order properly then pop to somewhere quieter.

There is nothing better than having a local restaurant and pub to patron. We go often and always leave satisfied. A Surrey gem!

We visit the Spice once an month for take out and it's always a great tasting, well flavoured meal. Compared to other curries I've had you can properly taste the spices and different flavours (they tend not overpowering in terms of heat allowing the taste to shine through) and the accompanying dishes maintain thisthe children always love the poppadoms, naan and chicken tikka from the tandoori oven

The food here is quite different from other "run of the mill" curry-style food places. They aim to offer some unique flavours and deliver great food at reasonable prices. More than just curries - this is spicy food with a difference. Well worth a visit.

A brilliant restaurant previously it was a takeway who provides very good foods. Specially shahi rezala and king prown pumpkin i like the most. To be honest most of dishes are so delicious. Whenever i come to UK from USA I never miss to come here. One of their employee named Ahmed was one the most dedicated employee i think they ever had. Wish u good luck THE SPICE.

Looking for somewhere to eat on. Saturday evening we came across the Spice on TripAdvisor. Whilst, it's small, very small, the food was truly exceptional. We tried the chefs specials, and all dishes were very good indeed. Quite how the restaurant survives on such a small scale, we have no idea. Irrespective of that, the food is great and well worth a visit.

First class quality food, very talented team of chefs and staff and leadership, Sultan conducts his orchestra with aplomb, you will enjoy your meal here.

I found many unusual dishes and service was fast and efficient. The place is quite small but the quality of the food was outstanding.

Food was excellent, extremely tasty with a number of different dishes. I'd definitely eat there again however I would say the prices are more towards the higher end of what you would pay generally. Drinks were expensive, £6 for a bottle of Cobra !

I really fancied indian food some days afo and i always pass next to this restaurant that looks so nice and warm inside. Very tiny place - i heard converted from a take away only. Me and my partner we have ordered some dishes from the list to take away. I have to admit that we have been waiting quite long but i hope next time timing will improve. Once at home with the food we hd lovely dinner and i have to admit that food was very good and quite authentic. I think it will be my trusted indian take away in the area.

Wonderful food and great service. We went for an early supper and ordered half a dozen great dishes. At the End of the meal we even had chilled After Eights. The dhal was a little thin for my liking so they took it away and quickly replaced it with a thicker version which was perfect. Really good food!

Had the chicken madras and it was really good. Cheese naan and chana masala is always good here as well as the service. We have also ordered takeaway from here and its always fast. Would highly recommend.

Fab food, lovely waiter, great night. Tiny and intimate restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble even though we had a spice phobic member in our group. They managed to do a bespoke meal for him, which he loved.

We ordered take away and had a varienty of dishes. The options were good, including vegetarian choices. some were quite spicy and others were not, but full of flavour.

Food consistently great! Delivery times are good too. Love the Weeping Tiger dish and the Naan is brilliant. You won't be disappointed!

We stumbled on this restaurant early on at Friday evening, as we were attending an evening reception at Great Fosters, whilst staying at a bed and breakfast nearby and we were very pleasantly surprised. We thought the presentation and the quality/freshness of the food was superb. The waiter in particular (who was very familiar with the area we live) was extremely smiley, polite, and attentive. The cost of the meal was very reasonable considering we had beers and my husband ordered three starters and a main meal each. My only regret is that I live so far away, otherwise I would be a regular.

We had a meal on last Friday, you can feel the freshness of the food. Also their recommendation was great. Very well priced and also they do not add any service charge....We loved it... Will be back soon..

We went to the Spice after a long journey from France on an Easter Sunday. We did not have anything at home and did not think that many places were open. However, we thought that this Indian place nearby may be open so we went.We ordered the Crocodile tears, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, Onion Bhaji, Vegetable Samosa, Rice, two different type of Naans and a beer while waiting. Our food was prepared in 20 minutes and the restaurant staff had such a positive welcoming attitude. It only cost us less than 40 pounds, and the food was delicious. We highly recommend!

We thought we would give this place a chance but big mistake, would never buy from there again, the chicken was so tough, the meat quality in general was very poor.

Very busy on a Friday night, but we were lucky to get a small table at the back. Extensive menu which promised a lot. One of the specials wasn't, it was tough and spice-less, and the duck curry was very tasty. The problems: small portions, served in stone-cold dishes and then moved to stone-cold dining plates. No attempt to provide any way of keeping the food hot; very disappointing. Quite expensive for what we had; £50 for three beers, four papadums and two curries with very small sides. We'll go somewhere else next time

Previously only offering take away food Spice box has squeezed in 8 tables for dining. The decor and setting are very cosy and charming.Sultan the owner was very friendly and accommodating and was very happy to adjust the spicing of our meals to our taste. The food was excellent and my only criticism was regarding the wine list,which I thought was a little too high.Otherwise a great new addition to VW.

Ordered this for the first time. They delivered to Staines which I loved! Very fresh, very flavourful. Great sized portions . At a very good cost. I paid 27£ for...2 chicken dishes, 2 rices, 2 breads, poppadam , and onion salad, and chutney. Can't beat it. I highly recommend the spice box for your next authentic Indian meal. I will be ordering from here on a regular basis!! I'm a foodie , and I don't give high scores easily !!

I love the food here. It's different to your usual Indian (in a good way). I don't recognise half the names on the menu, but its all nicely cooked - not greasy or heavy - with distinct flavours. Good dahl and chapatti.

We had used Spice Box a good few times and they had always delivered top quality delicious food so we asked them to run the catering at a family do for 30 people - it was a massive success - the team set up heaters etc and the guests were truly bowled over Thanks Spice Box

Visiting some friends in Virginia Water and they mentioned there was a good Indian place nearby. They didn't mention it would be one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. Chicken tikka masala was flavorful and sweet not spicy and the paneer had a kick to it but also so so flavorful. Top it off with some garlic naan and I wish I had more. Outstanding.

Spicebox provided great catering at our twins First Holy Communion lunch. Great service, tasty food and value for money. They set up the food in stainless steel containers and guests helped themselves. At the end of the day the team arrived, packed everything up and filled containers with the left overs ready for our freezer. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was, there was no fuss, just silent running from start to finish. We will definitely use Spicebox again!

Having tried numerous indian takeaways, this is definitely one of the best! We are from Woking but were with friends in Virginia Water. Calling to order our takeaway was very straight forward and the service over the phone was very helpful bearing in mind we made a few special requests. Collecting our order from a smart modern shop, the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food was was fantastic, excellent quality with generous portions, gorgeous flavours and all exactly as requested.
