Informes a HMRC!

My band and I stayed at Britannia International and I was looking forward to a great indian curry. Spice looked like it was going to fit the bill. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed to discover that this restaurant stops seating people at 9 pm (in a busy hotel on a Friday night?) and closes at 10 pm, yet doesn't post these hours for jet lagged, hungry guests to see. What really added to the injury was being met with rude staff who claimed to stop seating people at 9 pm as we watched them seat a gentleman that was ahead of us at 9:25 pm. I hate giving up on places because any restaurant can have a bad moment but after reading some of the negative reviews here, and recalling how we were dismissed, I decided to write them off. I won't try them again as there are many other Indian restaurants to choose from. Next trip (in 18 days) I will take an Uber and find Monsoon - which I know serves great curry and has very attentive waitstaff (I'll look for Winston - he's a gem).

Worst Indian I have ever had. Starter was popadoms that had the smell of stale oil. The mixed grill was ok but the lamb kebabs had a weird taste Mains - chicken curry was just awful my brother spat it out the chicken tasted off Lamb curry again had a bad taste too. Mushroom curry was whole mushrooms not chopped was ok Dal was ok Rice and naan bread were the only to things that were ok to eat. Over all I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We told the waiter the food was terrible but he was oblivious to it took the money and walked away!

Nice decor, good music ... But... Rude stroppy service, many Indian staples missing from menu. E.g. Tadka daal, lassi. Meat was undigestable, tough as old boots. Lamb bhuna was stodgy & methi chicken I had to spit out as actually tasted off. Mushroom bhaji was odd as mushrooms were kept whole, Naan tasted like it was a Tesco ready made special. All curries tasted the same. Nothing tasted fresh. When waiter finally cleared table of full plates and serving bowls he didnt even ask us why we had not eaten the food. I think, he knew! I dont often write bad reviews but this time was compelled. Dont understand how this restaurant is still in business. I visited as seemed convenient as was staying in adjacent hotel. Never again. London is reknown for its Indian food, this place lets the side down seriously.

Seating time - 4.5 stars - quickish Food service - 4 stars - short staffed and was not around much for attention ofc Food taste - 2 stars - salty and bland, actually worse than ready meal but 2 stars coz i was starving Price - 2 stars - no service charge which is good. Food portion - 1 star - its so small for the price! My main issue here was the lemonade i ordered which says £2.75 for 330ml. However they brought me a 200ml bottle one and charged me the £2.75. When i asked about this before paying, the waiter claimed he told me when i ordered that it would be the smaller size as the menu is out of date. He clearly lied as i was paying full attention with my partner and still charged me the full price with smile and acting honest. How can you even do that? Hes in the wrong profession! But anyway, i didnt make a big deal out of it and paid it to leave asap. So just a word of warning to the customers ordering lemonade, dont take this rubbish like i did. Its a shame the area is so dead and theres not many choices around for eating.

Were there tonight - a friend was staying in the hotel and we thought this would be convenient. Despite being 1/3 full we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. When we were shown to our table we were surprised to see how empty it was. Other diners had struck up conversation and were discussing how long the food was taking to arrive, but at 8:45pm we didn't want to go elsewhere. The food was terrible. Starter of onion bhajee, clearly out of a packet then over-cooked in an oven or frying pan - hard to tell. Main course of chicken biryani - bland, flavourless and tough chicken. Very similar to the standard you'd expect from a ready meal. Both of these are standard Indian dishes served in everyone Indian restaurant in the country, yet these were bought in. Service was bad. Trying to get anyone's attention was difficult. Trying to get someone to clear plates away in between courses was difficult. Waiting an hour for a bog-standard main course wasn't ideal either. I simply can't believe any of the positive reviews on here to be anything other than employees or favours from friends. One of the worst Indian meals I've ever had.

Delicioso e em conta. Belíssima pedida para um noite hospedado no Britannia e que não queira se deslocar muito. Ou para quem quer comer em um Indiano real, com cozinha caprichada!

Ate here as we were staying in the britannia and didn't fancy going too far. Friendly service from the waiters and didn't have to wait long for the food. I had the chicken balti and it was quite nice , I had asked for it to be extra spicy and it was just normal spice to me. The others in the party did not ask for any extra spice and they all said their curry's were tasty but did not have much spice in them. If I was staying in the hotel again and didn't fancy going too far I would come here again.

Often with Indian food it is what the Chef doesn't do that makes it special, and this is very much the case at Spice. Is the food greasy? No. Are the spices so hot you can't taste anything? No. Does every dish taste the same? No. Spice offers a good fare of curry dishes, and while it may not be the most original menu, you know exactly what your getting; wonderful comfort food. It reminds you of that Indian takeaway you have back home, the one that is just that bit better than all the other in delivery range, a fact you have determined with years of trial and error. Spice will never win a Michelin Star, and nor should it. This is not fancy food, it is good wholesome Indian cuisine taking the classics and showing you how they should be done. Balanced, flavorsome and delicious.

Within hotel Intern Britannia, so comfortable no need to walk out from the hotel. The card offered several interesting meals, so each of us tried something else. I would have gone for a bit bigger portion o meals, but still, it was very tasty.

Dined here when staying in the Britannia International. Smells from the restaurant are irresistible and we were warmly welcomed for our pre-booked meal. Restaurant is a bit on the dull side and poorly lit......... black ceiling and terracotta walls could be freshened up I feel. However the food was quickly served, piping hot and very tasty. Portions not huge but adequate, and we felt pleasantly full rather than stuffed at the end of the night!! House red wine was good and draught beer cold and fresh (although no Indian brands on offer). No real reason to rush back here, but equally no reason to avoid if staying in the area.

Taken dinner here, twice. Food was delicious, good variety for choice in menu, good ambience and great value for money. The drinks menu was also good.Best part is that its at the ground floor of International Hotel itself.

This is a restaurant just adjacent to the Britannia International hotel reception, which is quite handy for a rainy day when you just don't want to go out, but that's about it.I was staying at the Britannia for one night and visited on a rainy and quiet tuesday evening, with the restaurant almost empty; there were two or three tables vacated when I came in. Service, contrary to the previous comments, was surprisingly fast (from sitting down to eating in about 20mins) however not at all professional nor friendly. I ordered chicken curry and a Coca-Cola (advertised on the menu to be 16oz, almost 0.5liters. What I got was exactly one chicken curry with no sides and a tiny 0.2dl (0.67oz) coke bottle. Contrary ot our scandinavian customs, you need to order the main food and all the sides you want, ie. rice, salads, naan breads, raita etc separately. This obviously was my mistake, but then again the waiter did not bother to ask whether I wanted anything to go with the curry. On the waiters next visit, I ordered sides and complained about the coke and received the 0.5L glass I wanted, seems like the duty manager (or whoever it was) knew what I wanted whereas the waiters were more off the map.The food was pretty bland. The menu says the sauce is cooked medium-to-spicy, but all I could taste was the chicken and cream, to be honest, which with all that I've written in perspective, made the dining experience rather unpleasant and pricey in regard to the overall quality.

Asked for table for 2 at 8:30 on a Thursday. We where told to go back to the hotel bar for half an hour. There where 3 tables of people in the 20 cover restaurant. We came back at 9 to be Told to wait in the bar for another 20 min. After being steated it took 40 minuets for some one to take an order. Is is now 22:00 and I'm very hungry. There is still only 6 other tables in use. Poor poor poor poor.

I was here on business on a quiet Wednesday night, I walked past the restaurant which is adjacent to the reception and it smelt nice.It was at that point 8pm and the restaurant was all but empty, so I thought time for a beer in the hotel bar and then ill come back for my food. 20 mins later i come back and to my absolute dismay they ask me to come back in an hour as they are busy. They have less customers now than they did an hour ago! Subsequently we waited an eternity for our drinks and initial order to be taken, an absolute shambolic display. Please don't waste your time coming here.!! Life's too short!

A quiet Tuesday evening with the restaurant approximately 1/3rd full. Being told to wait 20 minutes for a table but being kept waiting for 45 minutes before being told there will be at least 30 minutes wait for food once ordered is not acceptable. I walked out.

If your after gastroenteritis then this is the place for you. Freshly cooked food is OK but those curries stored in the display front do not have dates of when it was cooked. This is the second time I have contracted gastroenteritis from here, from food that has gone off. Having to miss work and my Son miss school now. I won't be coming back.
