¡Hola! ? Seguramente un tomate entero por 80 peniques.

My partner and I visited Source for a payday treat, I had the full English breakfast and my partner had the pancakes with bacon. The full English was good but the pancakes were not so good, we like our bacon crispy but this was rock solid and kind of painful to eat. It's a shame because as a place that is attached to a butcher's/delicatessen, they really seem to care about quality ingredients, but the restaurant section seemed below par. The waitress didn't seem to care much either, there are better places to have breakfast. Not in a huge hurry to return.

I went to source in October for brunch. On walking in the ambience is good and the deli and butchers looks fabulous. After that it went downhill. Unfriendly waitress. I ordered bacon sandwich with mushroom, companion had full English breakfast. 2 coffees. Mine was lukewarm and actually cold by the time I finished breakfast. Bacon was good but no choice of bread which was also toasted which I didn't expect. Almost as if the day before bread was being used up. Companion had no real complaints about breakfast but said he had much better elsewhere and substantially cheaper. I would go back to shop in deli etc but not to eat

The full English breakfast here was well worth going out of our way for. Having done a little on-line research in our hotel, we set out for the half hour walk to here. We ordered the breakfast not knowing the price but didn't regret. The quality of it's components was excellent, especially the sausage. I could've eaten another! The damage was £9.50 with coffees and teas extra, although there did appear to be complementary bottled water on offer.Lovely little place and I guess it can get crowded so be prepared to squeeze in with strangers. We enjoyed our visit and made our friends envious when we told them about it later.

A small cafe on the side of St Nicholas Market with an organic food shop attached. Great vibe for brunch on a sunny weekend morning. Perhaps a bit pricey and not exactly a feast of food, but what you get is very nice, well-presented and you certainly get the impression that it is fresh and sourced locally. I had the sausage sandwich with scrambled eggs and my partner had the pancakes with fruit. As mentioned, wouldn't have kept us going all day but good for a late morning snack before a late lunch. £20 for both with a glass of orange juice each. Money well spent for a one-off but wouldn't come back every week!

£5.00 for 2 small pancakes is a bit much. My companion had the vegan breakfast, which, in contrast, was good portion and nicely presented. Coffee was nice as well. I like this place for its ambiance and ethical face; but they should work on customer satisfaction. I will certainly come back, as they need to be supported; but that loyalty works both ways. The cooking is always interesting and tastes very good, but on too many occasions, helpings have been on the small side. It was like that today. Had the fish and vegetable casserole - 2 slices of carrot, a 3cm piece of leek, and a small piece of some other veg, plus a very modest amount of fish. That's all. I'm not a big eater, and even I find this a scant ration. Good choice of microbrewery beers and good wine selection. Nice atmosphere.

We stopped in for breakfast early on Saturday morning as it was one of only a few places in the area that were open at that time. The menu was a little bit more expensive than some of the other places that were open but it looked nice and we decided we'd rather have a good breakfast to start the day than go for a cheaper option. The place itself was very nice and the staff were friendly. I was however a bit disappointed in the breakfast. The poached egg and the tomato came seasoned with pepper which to most people may not be an issue but personally stopped me from eating them. I feel that it should be the customers choice to put pepper on their food especially on poached eggs. We found space in this wonderful little restaurant (with shop) during a day out in Bristol near Christmas. St Nicholas Market is a great mix of shops and eateries, but most eating places only have outdoor seating - Source has both. I had the fish soup, a large bowl with a rich taste of lobster appeared, served with home-made melba toast. I nearly had what my husband ordered - the mushroom linguine. Fortunately he let me have some of it, it was superb and worth going back just for that. Afterwards we shared some sweet 'bites' - tiny squares of cake with intense flavours. The coffee was also very good. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Cost at £28 we thought was very fair. We will be back!

The top half of it is a cafe serving excellent coffee and a good range of breakfast options. Although poached eggs on toast wasn't on the menu, they were happy to accommodate, and were excellent. My wife's smoked haddock with poached egg was equally perfect. The bottom half is a food shop, and it was obvious from the quality of the meat and food on display that ingredients in the cafe would be the best. We've shopped in the deli a few times and really looked forward to eating here. However, we found the atmosphere a bit cold, staff not particularly friendly and the food expensive but not exceptional. The chowder made a decent enough starter and the meat and cheese platters were average but not ample. The truffle risotto was a bit bland and again, portions sizes quite small. The one exception was the delicious salted caramel brownie which is worth returning for the enjoy with a coffee. The experience of having to hunt for a toilet in the market also brought down the whole experience, particularly when the gents toilets resembled those of a third world prison....hardly conducive to a fine dining experience. In short, the restaurant fails to match the high standards set by the deli. Disappointing.

This is a terrific place, we always have breakfast here when visiting my relations in Bristol. I can't vouch for other meals as we have to eat with my family!Breakfast is terrific, everything top quality, the sausage & bacon from their own pigs, free range eggs, bread home made etc. the produce in the shop is first class, from butchery to cheeses. Wines & craft beers too.Service is a little slow perhaps, but it's not a place to rush anyway.

Lashing with rain so stopped for breakfast and at £8.50 is more than we would usually pay but Source is nice surroundings - shame the management didn't see fit to provide enough staff - the one female order taker/waitress was absolutely rushed off her feet and was a bit attitudy when we asked for our coffee in cups rather than mugs. The reason we do that is because we like our coffee hot so usually have two small cups. The first one was tepid so we didn't even order the second. The full English was ok, great sausage and sausage sandwich & fab black pudding but bacon dry and the homemade beans weren't a hit, There were two staff on the deli counter who should have jumped in to save the banging of cups & saucers attitude. Christmas menu looks fab

The menu is interesting and there is good quality food to buy and take home. There are a variety of counters, with locally sourced fish, meet and cheese plus jars etc.

Source is perfect for a catch up lunch with a friend, as long as you can find a table. Without breaking the bank, you can share a few plates (we had a cheese board (£7), a salad (£7) and a brownie (£3.5) between two) and have a relaxed glass of wine. It's be a great place to take a visitor to Bristol - right in the market and with an emphasis on good food. Oh - and split the brownies - they are incredibly rich!

Very relaxed and excellent value for money. The bread is excellent, which is always a good sign. I had the lamb salad, which was beautifully tender. Maybe a bit more of the lovely yoghurt dressing would make it perfect. My son's steak was perfect. The waitress was friendly and helpful.

I ate lunch here with a friend recently. He had the chorizo salad which was small for the price. I had the burger, chips and coleslaw. The burger was dry, chips were the frozen fries kind (not that I mind those but, for the price), the coleslaw was weird, no real sauce, just a lumpy creamy coating. For £10 and after waiting for 25 minutes it should have been better.

I have to agree with some of the recent reviews and say this was very average and pricey too.We had the full English at £8.50 each and while there is no doubt the ingredients are good quality, the bacon was overcooked and tough and the black pudding very dry.Service was also questionable with a young girl rushing around trying to do everything and appearing very stressed out.Coffee was good but served with a dirty tea spoon. Not great and would not return with so many other places doing it better locally.

Popped in for breakfast on a recent visit to Bristol. Was disappointed with my pancakes - just got two fairly small, thin ones which were burnt on one side. And pretty pricey too. Coffee on the other hand was excellent. Staff seemed a bit rushed, somebody came over to clear our table but left some stuff on it and didn't wipe it down. A small complaint but did take away from the experience.

Went there on a Saturday lunch time and it was fairly quiet. At one point it was just us! The food quality is great, nothing to complain about. I had the spicy lamb with cous cous which was excellent and my wife had the baked aubergine which also was very tasty. The portion size was small considering the price, for 2 mains and 2 soft drinks it was nearly £30. With St nicks market right outside offering great food at half the price it's no wonder it was quiet. It did get busy when it started to rain hard outside. Would go again for the food but only if I was feeling a bit rich!!

We were actually looking for another TripAdvisor recommended cafe for breakfast but stumbled upon this one. What a stroke of fortune! Service was quick and friendly, but not rushed. We both went for Pancakes with maple syrup + bacon - great choice. Coupled with coffee, pot of tea and fresh juice, this was a great way to start the day. Would definitely eat here again on a city visit.

I've eaten here before but today's breakfast was average. There's no point singing the praises of organic, free range and locally sourced if the bacon has been cooked and left to the point where it's so tough you can sole your shoes with it. Having said that it may be I was just unlucky and I'll probably go again sometime.

This restaurant is on a side passage by St Nicholas Market (Exchange Avenue). We had the full English - a delicious breakfast (about £8.50). Very good coffee - prepared by a local company. All of the food is locally sourced and the quality is excellent. The premises is actually shared with their shop selling local produce so there is an informal feel to the place. There are tables outside so perfect for a sunny morning and watching the market traders set up. I would definitely recommend visiting this place for Breakfast if you are staying in a nearby hotel - much better than the bland buffet at extortionate prices.

We were staying in a hotel (which is part of a large chain) and was appalled at the cost of the breakfast - so came here instead. We were not disappointed - I thought the breakfast here was wonderful. I talked to the owner of this cafe and food hall, and he's clearly passionate about the food he sells. They also do a rather fine salted caramel and cherry brownie.

This was amazing. We were a group of nine and the ladies working there readily accommodated us, including dietary requirements. The food was great, the service excellent. We will all be going again and would recommend it.

I have not had this good a burger since the 70's. Had the Tribute. Well seasoned and great tasting beef. The coleslaw and Rosemary chips were excellent accompaniments. Atmosphere was friendly and lively and great local beers. Nice, efficient staff Will definitely visit again next time we are in Bristol.

After discovering this "hidden gem" last year we were desperate to introduce it to our student daughter . What a let down! Whilst the the carrot cake was deemed good both the Guiness cake and Croissant cake failed to delight. In both cases it was like eating a slab of cold clay ! Stodgy, heavy slices of what simply could not be described as cake. The lesson learnt? Stick to more traditional offerings, as being adventurous completely backfired on this occasion!

Not a bad venue, the elecronic musical events are usually really good here. The neighborhood is a bit on the rough edge, but I never had any issues. The service is good, the prices are fair. Check out the musical events!
