Sora Sky Bar in Mendip

We have visited here several times before and loved it. The food and drink, though expensive, is excellent. Service is great too but I really dislike being literally begged for a good review on each visit. The main problem this time was the smell of drains which wafted through the restaurant and which we found off-putting. Not sure we will return.

We had a lovely evening at Sora, with friends, cocktails and fries . The cocktails were amazing (the cherry blossom negroni was gorgious) as were the seaweed, rosemary and chilli fries! The menu looks very interesting so we will defiantly return to give that a try. I should also mention the service that was excellent. Many thanks Sora, for a fun night.

I loved it such an amazing night made even more memorable by esther . It was so lovely the service was amazing we had a booth which felt so private. Well price drinks and lovey !!

Went for Sunday afternoon drinks. Service was first class from Ethan. The live music was an unexpected bonus. Definitely be back again.

After hearing good things, we visited Sora on a Friday night, and whilst it was busy, the staff were still somewhat attentive. The atmosphere is bustling and vibrant. We were warmly welcomed at the desk, and floor staff were helpful with answering questions. However, waiting 25 minutes for a drink order was really frustrating. The cocktails nonetheless were delicious. We shared the Sora Signature, which was lovely, but for the price of £38, we expected much more. We were told that this was enough for us to share, but we were still hungry so ordered the KFC, which we regretted. The ‘gochujang’ tasted like pure ketchup and the dish was lukewarm. Desserts were slightly underwhelming. £6 for cold marshmallow with chocolate on the top was disappointing. Despite the disappointment, the staff’s friendliness really stood out to us. Our waiters, Dipendra and Cerys, went out of their ways to make the experience special for us, of course without being too overwhelming. This meal was a nice experience and the staff were lovely, however since the food was quite disappointing we probably wouldn’t return.

Fantastic location with amazing views! Perfect on a sunny day but they are fully prepared to embrace any weather. The food was delicious and our waiter Josh was a mind of information and his advice on cocktails matched our tastes perfectly. Would def go back when next in York!

Amazing views, great setting, calm atmosphere, high quality. Josh served us all evening, never went without, gave great food tips and recommendations, was always around to check if we need anything. Will look out for him again.

Tried to get in here for a couple of drinks on a Thursday afternoon but because we didn’t have a reservation we had to wait as there were six other people waiting apparently despite the place being half empty! Went elsewhere. Tried later on, was ushered to a table. Rubbish menu, rubbish drinks on offer and all massively overpriced. Staff were rude, service was distinctly average. No thanks.

Did not stay in the hotel, just went for food and drinks including Starbucks. Staff were polite and friendly, took the time to ask about our day and what we had planned ect. Food was fast and good quality which paired well with the suggested wine.
