Had a Fabulous meal again..food is superb quality...and very reasonably priced too. Bread is freshly made and tastes amazing. I had the chicken shashlik and taste awesome... Mixed kebab starter, others had chicken chatt... Service.is just so friendly and always get a warm welcome..

We go to this restaurant every week as the food is out of this world. We always find the staff (Naz And Tarig) are more than helpful and guide you through the menu and even recommend speciality dishes. They have a special menu which is worth every penny and what we don’t need they always package up to takeaway for us to take home, if you are travelling through Neston I highly recommend this restaurant Dave B

Ate again on a Saturday evening in March with friends and with family on a Wednesday in March for the midweek special, Food is amazing and every time the come to stay they insist we dine her as just the best Indian restaurant. Saturday - We had poppadums' to start, then various starters - included - chicken chatt - mixed kebab - Stuffed pepper. All tasted fabulous. Mains included Chicken Pathea - chicken shashlik. Amazing food and everyone had a fabulous meal. On the meal deal on Wednesday - amazing just under £17 a head for poppadum's - starter - main - side dish - bread or rice. No compromise on quality or portion size and highly recommended if in the area. Staff so friendly and always warm welcome, Free large car park over road behind shops,

Been back to the Sonargaon twice mid week since last visit for just the best Indian food on the Wirral, once by ourselves and other time with family Chose our meals from the mid week special menu - superb value and quality, Poppadum's to start with chutney tray are delicious. Sides included we chose mushroom bhaji and Bombay potatoes included in the deal. I had the Rogan Josh but just tastes so good, The midweek special is fantastic for £16.95 a person - superb deal with plenty of choice and quality, includes poppadum's, starter, main side, rice and bread Bring your own wine is a plus and they do sell a selection of beers too including Cobra. One had ice cream to finish. Service is very friendly and always feel well looked after by Team Sonargaon. Local Car parking 5 minutes walk across the road behind shops and free to park including electric charging service in car park too. 5 minutes walk from the 22 and 487 bus stops. On main road through Neston by Traffic lights and near to junction of Hinderton Road. Highly recommended if in the area.

It was absoulutely amazing and the food was delicious also the service was incredible including my favourite person called naz!

Visited with family again mid week. There was a family wedding party just finishing as we got there when the restaurant opened, it was a privilege to see the amazing outfits on the ladies - so so beautiful. We all opted for the mid week deal and such good value. We brought our own wine. As always the service is attentive without being intrusive and so friendly with a smile - nothing too much trouble for Team Sonargaon. Food is amazing and plentiful and a bargain at £16.99 a head which includes - poppadum's - starters - mains - side and rice or nann bread. I had the mixed kebab starter and Rogan Josh with chicken tikka - tasted amazing and so well cooked. Husband had Chicken chatt and Pathia to follow with Bombay Potatoes as side. Others had the mixed kebab and prawn chatt. Just at edge of main High Street. Family had curries including a sizzling dish. If you like Indian cuisine - this restaurant is a must try.

We have been going to The Sonargaon for over 25 years and just had another great meal. High quality and realistic priced food. Efficient and very friendly service. Again well done and will always the No 1 restaurant for all occasions. See you all very soon.

Popped in mid week for our dinner at early tea time. We opted for the £16.99 mid week special - Amazing value - you have to go hungry and such a good deal and so much quality food and choice is brilliant for the money...... 1. Poppadum's to start 2. Then pick and starter off main menu ( except fish dishes/king prawns). 2. Then pick any main meal off extensive main menus (except exceptional dishes and fish dishes). 3. Then pick any side from menu we opted for the Bombay potatoes and mushroom bargis. 4. Then any Bread or pilau rice - so we opted one bread and one rice to share. Everything tasted amazing and freshly cooked to order. Service is so friendly and with a smile. Superb value and food - just at edge of village by traffic lights.

Ate here several times with husband ns family in the last 2 months and our favourite place to dine in Neston. Indian food is superb. Tried several dishes and starters - we have tried meat samosas - onion bargis - mixed kebab - chicken chatt - all taste amazing, Mains we have tried various curries including the chicken shashlik - Rogan josh - bhuna and food is exceptional. Super selection of breads. Brilliant value special menu Sunday to Thursday for around £16. On main high street and there is a public car park just across the road, Service is excellent and so friendly. Great atmosphere and you can take your own wine too. Highly recommended if the the area and worth it to travel too as well. Already booked to dine again with friends at the weekend.

Hands down the best Indian food around. Everytime I eat here the food, drinks and service are a delight. I come back next time to try a different combination of foods and I leave thinking "that was great". Sonargaon never fails in my opinion. A brilliant recommendation for a meal out

Another nice meal at Sonargaon, prepared with variations as we asked for. It is good to ask for advice from the staff if you like your food prepared a certain way. We will certainly be back.

Visited with family for the first-time early Saturday evening, lovely layout of restaurant and nice comfy booths. Service was superb, with a smile, great friendly atmosphere and with an addition of the knock knock jokes - so funny and made for a fantastic evening….. Food amazing, we had a mix of starters and included Veg samosas – onion bargis – mixed kebab and prawn dish. We shared an Indian bread which tasted delicious. Mains we had a mix of curries, and I had the chicken tikka Rogan josh – food was fantastic and some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Restaurant very clean, all staff were so friendly and we all cannot wait to go back again.

We are regular visitors to Sonargaon and again the meals we had were impressive, Lovely succulent lamb and moist chicken. I asked the staff for some help with ordering meals that are Indian and not tweaked for UK palettes and the result was fantastic—looking forward...

Fabulous food. Really welcoming staff and especially Tariq the customer services manager. Restaurant should be busier as really good value for money and very varied menu for all. It is a regular haunt for most of us on any night of the week. Highly recommended...

I visited this restaurant and the service was appalling however the food was really nice (apart from the chicken in the curry which was a bit tough). With the level of service provided and the tough chicken the best score I can give is average.

We were bowled away by the delicious fresh cooking and depth of flavours in our dishes. Also the service was top and very attentive. Worth visiting in person rather than just a take away. We'll be back!

I ordered the meal for one with the King Prawn with a side of Prawn Puri. It was very lovely, including the potatoes. NaN was lovely. Having lived in the area for 8 years I’m ashamed I haven’t tried it before. Only problem I had was too much food, but I had I for tea the next day as well! :)

We ordered a 'meal for four' last night over the phone, speaking to a member of staff. Apparently,this option is on the on-site restaurant menu so my wife dictated poppadoms, starters, mains, sides, rice and bread..for four. A huge box was delivered later (with sufficient time to suggest it had been cooked from fresh), hot and well packaged, with no mistakes. There was enough for eight people and the quality was 10/10. So fresh and tender/well marinated meat courses..lamb and chicken. We put the remainder in the fridge, enough for a meal tonight.How do the make any money? We will definitely be using them again. They're stealing the march on their rivals.

The food was okay, nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about, usually a cheap night out place. We went on Wednesday to Sonargaon last minute booking, as other local Indian Restaurant didn't have any room. Everything was okay till the point we asked for the bill. We argued the bill, we spent around £58 for food between four of us, so our total discount should be £29 without any alcohol but we were presented with a bill for £48 as we explained to the owner its 50% off with maximum discout of £10 per person, he said no we are wrong and its £10 per bill‍♀️. We left paying the £48 as we felt threatened and the atmosphere becoming hostile. Im sure the owners will be claiming back £29, as they refused to give us the bill. Made a complaint on HMRC Government site.

Visited Wednesday.First the food very good although the starters were only warm.We got two bills one total spend £24. we were charged £14 our friends total was £35 & were charged £25. We queried this with the owner who just insisted he was right & it was only up to £10, I pointed out his signage which said £10 each which of course it is, he still wouldn't have it. I asked would he be claiming £14 rom the scheme , he said yes, I then pointed out that he was being fraudulent as we pay £14 & he claims £14 means he gets £28 & the bill was for £24, Like wise £25 + £25 = £50, bill £35. He still wouldn't have it so we left 50% of the bill & wallked out in disgust.I thought I would pay a visit tonight & try again , I did say I was trying to help & was worried that the "scheme" would find out & charge them ,once again he just waved his arms & wouldn't listen, one chap did say we will look into it but he wasn't sincere, so I had to give up & walk away.

During lockdown...been ordering once a week during lockdown ,,,after having a meal from them last MONDAY EVENING decided to order EXACTLY the same tonigh Saturday.....the sheek kebab was burnt and inedible, went straight in the bin...We bother ordered chicken chicken sylheti as per other times BUT this was tasteless, very very watery it was absolutely awful.......I telephoned to let them know how upset I was and had they changed chef from last Monday....I was shocked and horrified the way Inwas spoken to...No chef the same was told there was nothing wrong with my meal...that’s how sylheti is served...(but every other time it’s been delicious) THEN he said next time you order you will be best ordering something different as it’s hard for the chef to get sylheti chicken right........the attitude stank.....Well that’s me NOT ordering again.......

During the coronavirus lockdown the staff at Sonargoan have been busy taking telephone orders and delivery tasty meals in very good time for us to enjoy at home until all this is over.Looking forward to another meal tomorrow.

We went to Sonargaon on Christmas day and New Years Eve and a couple of times since. Each time we have been served great meals to our own taste. Christmas Day was a good experience, a one of fee for for anything of the menu. We will be back next Christmas to do it again. New Years Eve was good too though from the standard menu and prices.

Another nice meal served just how we like it. If you’re not too sure about a meal the staff are more than happy to advise or tweet to suit your taste.

I booked a table for six two weeks ago & when turning up on Saturday night, they didn't seem to know I booked as they pointed the six of us to the back where there was two table one of 4 & i of two, I instantly complained & they then put us in a cubicle which is for 4, so we were tightly bunched & rather uncomfortable, OK they did apologise but it was simply bad service.We put in our orders which were just main courses & had to wait about 50 minutes to get our food. The food was enjoyed by 4 of us, one thought his Masala tasteless (I disagree) & the English dinner of chicken chips & a bit of salad was very poor, the chicken was the cubed chunks they put n the curries & just fried in fat, chips were the frozen type, this should be rectified by the management.1*off for our bad table & 1* off for the wait & the English food.They did apologise again to me when leaving but the damage was done,I am local & don't think I will return here again.

I have always had good service until tonight, i believe it is under new management. We ordered our usual takeaway and was over charged. My wife queried it on collection and was told it was correct. Checked the prices ourselves to find we had been overcharged. My wife phoned and the staff where rude, wouldn't listen and kept talking over her. They've now lost a regular customer due to their attitude.

Food just OK and no where near as good as Britannia Spice in Parkgate.What I didn’t like is the fact that they advertise their “Happy Hour” but then don’t offer you the savings or ask you if you would like to dine from that menu.Ended up paying full price for the exact same meal as should have been on the HH.Toilets also seriously need updating.

Asked about items on the menu and got great food in a way we like it being served. Good portion size of great food. I had chapati's and wrapped my chicken korai them, very tasty. We will be back in a couple of weeks.

Called in for tea on Friday evening. Took advice from the guys and had a chicken korai with salad which was rolled in chapatis. We also had chicken tikkia on a sizzling plater, extra garlic. Two side dishes, saag paneer and mushroom bhaji. Very nice too. The staff are really helpful and the resturant is spotless.

We go twice a month to Sonargaon as it is handy for us and we enjoy the good food and the staff are great and treat us well as regulars. There have been some new dishes offered to us to try which were impressive. We like the chicken / garlic sizzling plater with another main a couple of side dishes and two curry sauces one hot one mild with a naan to eat it with. The guys are always helpful and ready help with menu choices or slight changes to how we want our food. Looking forward to our next visit

Just called in for our tea. The food was really good and the hospitality was great. Started with poppadums and then had shared two mains and two side dishes. Had a naan too and it was all excellent. There were 3 tables in use and a steady take away service and home deliveries going on. We will be back soon

My sister and I decided on a whim to go into Neston for an Indian meal. We chose Sonargaon as she had heard good reviews. I had a chicken dish with a mango flavoured sauce that was absolutely delicious. My sister had chicken tikka and she thoroughly enjoyed that. The staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. We would definitely go to Sonargaon again.

This was our first visit to our local Indian. Pretty impressive menu with lots of variety and really interesting food. My partner had king prawn biryani and I had chicken dish with coconut and mango was divine.

This is regarding two visits to the resturant. Firstly we went for a meal on New Years on the spare of the moment. Phone up and there was one table free. The resturant was full, every seat taken and the atmosphere was buzzing. We ordered and the meals came in good time and were realy nice. We went again on the 8th Feb at tea time and the resturant was quieter but starting filling as we ate. The three meals arrived in good time. We had mains, side dishes and naan. All plates empty at the end.

Three of us arrived around 9.30pm on a Saturday and found ourselves amongst a handful of diners which was a real shame as the staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent a place not to be missed

This is a really good little restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and the food is exceptional. Alcohol is normally the thing that really pushes the price up so it’s refreshing to be able to bring your own both saving a bit of money and you get your favourite wine every time

Very good food. We had a takeaway via Just Eat, our meal arrived promptly and was delicious. Oh my the spicy popadoms we’re tasty. Everything we ordered was very tasty and warm. Very politely delivered. 👏. A great Friday Night Dinner in.

Another visit provided us with good food in pleasant suroundings. Another variation of tandori lamb and chicken on sizzling platers with our choice of curry sauce. ( I like the jalfrazy.) Ps the loos were spotless too

The food here is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed it. Although I am boring and just had a lamb korma it was amazingly good. It’s great that you can bring you own booze and does make it a cheaper evening meal out... my only criticism is that the service was painfully slow! Nevertheless the food came and it was excellent. Four of us had a takeaway from here on Saturday, and the food was not good. I had lamb and chick peas, and another of us had a lamb dish too. The amount of Lamb in both dishes was minute---unbelievably so. The lamb had been chopped into pea sized pieces and we had 5 or 6 of these pieces each. It looked like the chicken dishes had slightly larger pieces . the side dishes were very tasty, but we definitely wont be getting a takeaway from there again

Another Saturday tea time visit provided us with yet another great dining experience. We had chicken garlic tikka with our own choice of curry sauces, mushroom and sag aloo bhajis with an akbari naan, very tasty. Excellent service from the staff. It was nice to see the resturant quite busy too.

We made another visit to the resturant and had three good meals which we really enjoyed. Everything was clean and tidy and our starters and meals came in good time.

Lovely staff and delicious food totally accommodating of the children's needs. Easy parking across the road.

We regularly visit Sonargaon and enjoy the good food and service. Good choices on the menu and the staff are allways ready to help explain the dishes and allow tweaks to suit our taste. Over the past six years we have used the resturant for a meal in or a delivered take away we have allways been pleased.

This place continues to impress with both the quality of the food and the great value. You bring your own alcohol which really cuts the cost down and you can always top up at the Tesco round the corner. One thing that particularly impresses is that they seem to improve the menu on a regular basis, which keeps it interesting!

Food, once again was magnificent. The staff are so friendly and help keep the kids entertained. Once again fully stuffed and couldn't finish the meal.

Having never dined in Newton before, we thought we'd give the Sonargoan a try on a Wednesday evening, and their 5-course Mon-Thurs deal for just £11.95 per head.

We have eaten in the Sonargaon several times in the past before it was taken over by new management. We ordered a take away (delivered) for new year's eve via Just Eat and was really impressed by both quality and quantity. Delivery on new year's eve too !

Tried something new and thorouhly enjoyed the food. Excellent as normal Friday evening out

Went for an early meal however didnt get as far as eating due to unruly drunk customers hurling abuse as we sat down...Menu limited to meat only and service not friendly...due to clientelle decided best to leave..Cant comment on food ..didnt get that far but service not very welcoming. Wont risk it again !

This place used to have the best Indian food for miles,but it seems to have gone down hill

We have been going to the Sonargaon Indian Restaurant since it opened for nearly 20 years. Last night we had another high standard meal. The new management team have raised the bar again. Excellent food and service and great value for money with bringing your own drinks. None of this rip off of expensive wine.So lucky to have such a high quality well priced Indian Restaurant on our doorstep. Keep up this great service. Will return again and again.

Food always spot on, never any issues and quick delivery. As I understand it's under new management couldn't tell as it's still very good.

Intro: My wife and I, accompanied by various friends, have been regular customers of the Sonargaon for many years.We have always enjoyed 'the early evening' menu...good quality, good value, good service. We have returned only recently (two early evening meals in the last fortnight), following a wave of very poor Trip Advisor reviews earlier in the year.Our welcome: The staff couldn't have been friendlier and struck up a rapport when we arrived.They took our coats and later returned them to us. Naz and Ashli (sorry about the spelling) both tried to make us feel very welcome and valued customers.Table/decor: Every table was professionally set out, with clean cutlery and napkins.Ordering/service: They were patient, helped with menu selection, cleared away dishes promptly, with courtesy and friendly small chat. The meals were delivered together and presented with care and pride. They were proud of their chef, Weir (spelling?), and boasted of his awards. I peeked into the kitchen and he was kitted out professionally; he looked like he knew what he was doing.Food: All our dishes have been superb, including our last visit. Hot, tasty with fresh ingredients. Tonight, my wife's stuffed pepper (with curry) was very tasty, while my chicken chat starter was beautiful; both were garnished with a fresh salad. Our mains were equally good. The chicken shashlik was served on a sizzle plate brought to the table...again, excellent quality vegetables, meat and sauce. My lamb passandra was delicious and went well with the aloo sag. Overall, the meal was first class.The bill/value: I doubt that you could have produced a similar meal at home for the price. Bring your own drinks a definite plus.Conclusion; On both occasions we visited early evening and it wasn't busy. The experience was excellent. We will definitely return and confidently spread the word. Keep up the good work Sonargaon.

Good ambience, great food, good service and nice crispy poppadoms. Oh yes and you can take your own drinks. What l more can you ask for.

We decided to have my friends birthday here, as we like the fact you can take your own drinks , which saves a huge amount of wines ,especially as my wife and I like one each ! Considering there was 17 of us they took our order swiftly( we all ordered separately) Our starters came out and they where served rapidly , everyone got the right dish within minutes so we where all eating together The same happened with the main meal not one wrong order, and the staff where all friendly and efficient The poppadums,we had were nice a crisp, nice selection of sauces , the starter prawn puri was really nice with small puri on top I had one of the mix special dishes which again was in a nice sauce, I recommend the keema rice it was lovely, I wanted some fresh green chillies , when I asked the waiter , within minutes I was presented with a plate of fresh green chilles , nothing was to much trouble In all everyone one of us said we had a brilliant night

My wife and I have been living in Neston for the last 18 months and have enjoyed a meal at Sonargon about every second week for the past year. The atmosphere of the place is nice - relaxed. The food is excellent and the menu is quite deep. Bringing your own wine and-or beer is a great option and makes it a very economical excellent meal. The staff are friendly and attentive. This is a hidden gem.

As the title says, the food was OK, but took an eternity to arrive. They gave us no explanation as to why things were taking so long. I was driving so I ordered a diet coke, it arrived some 15 minutes later and was totally flat, but I drank it rather than risk ordering another!. If you're not in a rush, then give it a try, the prices are good and the staff are friendly. Just so blooming slow☺

After a day at Chester Races and a bus journey home , my wife and i found ourselves to be peckish so we decided to call in at Tesco and purchase a bottle of wine to accompany our meal at the Sonargon. We were lucky to walk in and straight away get a table. We had starters which were most enjoyable . The main meals were just as nice . Food was of a great standard and tasty considering it was a busy saturday night.My Only grumble was that the Waiter who served us was very abrupt and not at all friendly/ pleasant , as if he didnt want to be there. Will return but hopefully to a better reception

i was in the area with a couple of friends seen this place sonargon .. so we all went in there for a meal. wish we never did because the food was not on time it was not hot just warm didnt taste fresh at all can tell it was few days old.very oily like you can see all oil sitting on top !!i felt sick by looking at it so will not recomend .

First visit in a long time lots of cluttered uncleared tables and incredible slow service! Food was average when it arrived but rice and nan bread nothing to write home about such a shame this place used to be really good simply can't compete with others now really need to Spice your act up again

We have been customers at The Sonargon approaching 20 years. At this visit had the Special Meal and was excellent quality and value. Looking forward to the next meal at this gem of a restaurant. Dave & Kim.

Ive been coming to this restaurant for the past 5/6 years now always been good, but for the past few months its all gone downhill! The service was awful took forever for our meal to arrive and when it finally did was disgusting!! We always loved it in the past our kids basically grew up there with 1 of the manager who hasnt been there the last few times weve been, the staff there now are dead moody and miserable theres no atmosphere left in the place!! Weve recently started going to the Parkgate indian much better atmosphere and attentive service... sorry Sonargoan all the best you really are gonna need it!

Have visited the restaurant and have ordered take aways from here . Food always hot and tasty . In the restaurant it's relaxed , you can bring your own drink . Attentive waiters who are happy to recommend dishes . Will definitely visit again .

When Sonagron first opened, the food was fantastic! On my visits to see family back to Neston, I always made a point of visiting the restaurant. However, over the last year the quality of the food has declined dramatically. Sliced raw garlic over my garlic chilli dish? It used to be toasted and lovely! The take-away meals I've had have been pitiful. Whatever I ordered on in the two times i got a take away, the food was delivered in a korma sauce. The first dish i ordered was Jalfrezi, got a korma. The second time i ordered a rogan josh, got korma again. No excuses, I won't be visiting or ordering food again.

Absolutely disgusting, the food was oily and my food came with dark hairs in it. Rice is packet instant rice with a couple of sauces thrown in to make it look better. When my main corse come I couldn't even bring myself to eat it as it looked so disgusting and the chicken was black. When I got home I had a look at the food hygiene rating and let me say I wish I had done that before I went as its only got a 1/5. Major improvement is needed to make this restaurant safe, and hygiene. Please don't eat here as I have been ill since.

Regularly visit this Indian restaurant to dine in or takeaway. Lovely place for a family meal or romantic meet. The staff go out of there way to make you make you welcome. The food is excellent. Cannot fault. A definite place to dine.

Excellent food but no alcohol licence so bring your own! Friendly polite service with good range of Indian dishes. Also do takeaways

Went here for the first time this.weekend. They were not very busy, so the atmosphere was a bit lacking, but the food more than made up for it. We found the dishes very tasty and all seemed freshly cooked and we could actually taste the various flavourings in each dish. We did not have a starter, but had two meat dishes, one vegetable, rice and peshwari naan and had no room for a pudding.

Fantastic freshly cooked food! All my family love it here. Can highly recommend chicken shaslick . It's a bonus you can take your own wine! Means you can go out with your family more often!
