Go to place for eating when in Chester. Everything about it was and is a pleasant experience all round.

Quiet being a Sunday evening but the food did not disappoint! So tasty! I can still feel a tingle on my tongue now. Perfectly cooked, aromatic and delightful dishes with so much to choose from. I will definitely return and recommend to my friends and family.

Restaurant was very quiet, although we did go early on in the evening so this can't always be helped. Menu is quiet hard to understand and after ordering our starters, the wrong one came out. This happens at restaurants and I am understanding of this but the waitress then came back to tell me the item they had brought out was the one I order whilst reading the menu to me. I explained how it wasn't correct (Cola Wings were being served instead of Thai-Till) to which she proceeded to laugh whilst looking back at the kitchen. Rest of the food was okay and the Thai Green had a nice kick to it. Overall it was okay, but there are other places I would visit over this.

Just placed an order from here , if you are vegan don't bother with the Thai green curry i got 3 pieces of tofu. It's not meat it's a plant based product and it's cheap and I got 3 pieces for a 12 quid curry. Definitely won't be ordering again.

Lovely little Thai restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, and amazing food for good price. Definitely would recommend people to go there, and if you do not want anything from the menu, they have another place called Hanoi Social, which offers other options as well. The chicken is Halal, so Muslim people are welcome as well.

A delicious meal with lots of vegetarian options available. We had a great time at this delightful Thai restaurant accompanied by friendly service from the staff. We had a variety of dishes from the menu and in particular the Papaya Salad and Pad Thai were extremely tasty. Highly recommended restaurant!

It was our first visit and we had No idea what to expect, within twenty minutes we both felt like Valued customers because of the care and attention we received, the waitress double checked with the Chefs about any possible allergies and steered us away from one starter that may have been unsuitable, the Food was served quickly, and it wàs excellent quality and fully authentic! The Final surprise was when the Bill was presented, it was approximately 70% of what I was expecting it to be ! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and we intend to make visits here a regular monthly occurrence !!! Totally Satisfied Customers !!!

Lovely NYE meal here, eight of us, adults and kids. Food was delicious, freshly prepared, tasty, nicely presented and very generous portions. Service was good and staff really patient and attentive. Lovely set menu and loads of choice on the open menu too. Funky decor.

The menu used to be really good but it’s been completely redone and the dishes are bizarre. Such a shame how a good restaurant has become some sort of weatherspoons wannabe.

Such a shame. I used to love this place used to be my go to, and always take out of town people there. New menu makes zero sense. I get you wanted to try something new but I sadly don’t think it’s worked. Please bring back the old menu or I can see this place going under. I was shocked to see how empty it was on a Friday night and now I can see why. Spaghetti, hot dog, loaded fries and removing the Thai red curry all together makes no sense on a Thai menu.

A Thai restaurant that’s seems to of gone a little intermixed with some other types of food. One of the starters was Coke cola wings, a little strange. However, service was excellent and food was pretty decent so, give it a try if you’re in Chester.

This used to be our go-to restaurant while in Chester. When we returned on our most recent trip, the establishment had rebranded and the menu had undergone a drastic change. There were more “unauthentic” fusion dishes on the menu, including “American Fried Rice” and nachos. A couple of the dishes were from the original menu, which we ordered. Portions of dishes we had ordered prior to the menu change were significantly smaller for the same price and did not leave us satisfied and we felt like it was not worth the price. We spent £19 on a small cup of of curry and rice. Overall, the menu also shrunk and many of the dishes were eliminated completely. The staff is excellent, but only due to the menu change we would unfortunately recommend other Thai restaurants in the city.

This was the restaurant I always recommended, have been there many times over 5 years, must be new owners, this is not the Nine Elephants, it is a shadow of what it was, chips with everything if you want them, if you missed how this restaurant used to be, you will never know how good it once was, really sad !!

We've just finished our meal. We are very disappointed with the cost of £42. I ordered the chicken pad Thai for £16. The meal was very small, it didn't even fill the small container provided. It wasn't worth £16. I also ordered the sizzling platter off the seafood section. The order was beef; the peppers and onions were uncooked. My understanding is a sizzling platter indicates cooked peppers and onions. The sticky rice provided was an extremely small amount. I've had to add to this myself. The beef was delicious, luckily. The starters of mini ribs and fish cakes were delicious. Thanks. I called the restaurant, but there was no answer. So I received a call back from your mobile number. However, the man said he wasn't from the Nine elephants.

Staff tried really hard but what a disappointment…. Looks like this has changed hands, have visited this restaurant previously 6 times the quality of food has gone from 9/10 to 3/10 really poor

very poor so called thai had massaman currry one piece of chicken mild curry partner had weeping tiger with peas and sweetcorn (never ever with those two veg) im embarrassed to have taken someone and been served such terrible so called thai food never again stay clea if you like thai food

We ordered x2 take out . Both chicken . One with ginger and the other oyster. It was rather unpleasant. The chicken was extremely tough and rubbery . Had potential with the flavours but just very unpalatable chicken . Will.not order again .

Ordered as a take away. Food was prepared and arrived quickly, and was delicious. We got massaman curry and "face the noodles". Will be back.

Failed delivery. It happens but what doesn’t happen is then putting the phone down on you and blocking two different phone numbers when trying to follow this up. Bizarre behaviour and an hour wasted.

My partner and I keep coming back to this place; the entire experience never disappoints. The dishes are incredible, the team are always so polite and kind, and it's a great atmosphere no matter what time you go. I always recommend to people if I'm ever asked where a great food spot is in the city. We will definitely be back again soon

Visited here for dinner Had The Basil Forsest chicken , Panang Chicken and Lemon grass Chicken. All dishes were great and very tasty all with a bit of spice. Service was good, the venue is quite small but popular. this was my second visit here and was as good as the first a few years ago

Took some visitors here for a meal on the recommendation of a friend who said the restaurant could cater for one of the group who was vegan. It definitely exceeded expectations and made a big impression as not only were all the mains available as vegan, there was so much choice on the rest of the menu too. Allergies were also easily catered for. Above all, though, the food, service and atmosphere were all incredible. Very impressed and will definitely return.

Ordered via Deliveroo. They deliver directly rather than use Deliveroo drivers so there is no tracking. Placed order at 19:35, was due to arrive at 20:15. Called and chased at 20:30, and was told someone would call me back but no one did. I continued to call for the next 20 minutes and no one answered. Food finally arrived at 20:50, and female driver said there was poor communication at the restaurant. Asked if the food was cold and how long the food had been in the car for and she told me it was still hot. It was lukewarm at best so had been in the car for some time. Very disappointed with the service.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday here and have returned several times. The atmosphere and service are great. There is such an extensive menu that I would strongly advise downloading it, to peruse at leisure before your visit. Otherwise you really will be spoiled for choice. The food is truly excellent.

Sunday lunch. It was tasty and the establishment was empty. It is just outside the city walls at Chester and would attract more custom if it was in the tourist centre. The service was excellent.

This use to be my favorite restaurant portions have got really small and prices have gone really high £50 for two tai red curry & rice with hardly any chicken in it left still hungry

Really good Thai food. Hard to find food this good outside Thailand. The staff and presumably the chefs are Thai, so that lends the authenticity that can be lacking in some other restaurants.

Wow the food here is amazing we love Thai food and this was our first visit, it’s certainly tops our list. Great quirky decor and fab service. We absolutely loved everything.

We came here for my husband’s birthday. The atmosphere was lovely and the waitress was so friendly and welcoming. We had the Panang curry and it was delicious! We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again when we are in the area.

We were looking for something light to eat in Chester the other week and the rain was driving us to find shelter asap so it was we found ourselves at 9 Elephant's and choosing the range of interesting looking tapas. Now it was March so I asked for a spot away from the door and away from the air conditioning. I'm not sure if the young chap I spoke to but he put us right by the door. To compensate for this the young lady who served us found a heater which sort of remedied the situation. However the food was nice and very tasty and the atmosphere was nice too. I will plead mea culpa for the oversight with the cost because it cost a little more than I had realised but it was very tasty food and a little safe retreat from the horrible rain.

Visited with friends for a catch up! Delcious freshly cooked Thai food! We shared an abundance of starters, they were simply delicious! Service is also great! Authentic interior which makes the atmosphere even better! Slightly on the pricier side! But so worth it :)!! Will be returning !

Dined here on a Friday evening on 28/04/23. Food was disappointing, chicken was tough and tasted like it had been reheated... definitely not freshly stir fried as it said on the menu. Other dishes were also poor quality, lots of chewy/tough meat. Check the prices! It is very expensive for the standard of food you get. Atmosphere was quiet. Serving staff nice enough. Had plenty of GF/Vegan options.

Last minute decision to pop in here as we have only ever ordered for a home delivery in the past. All I can say is wow, it's better to eat in. Ordered a lot more food that I wouldn't usually of had if delivered, like the coconut chicken soup, and the snowball pudding (RECOMMENDED) Food was outstanding and always to a very high standard. Service was top class and professional. This is one place I can highly recommend. Absolutely we will be back in.

Staff are fantastic. Super friendly and attentive. The venue is lovely and although the food is reasonable it does not reflect price. Main courses at £23 and rice £3.50 is central London fine dining pricing.

This is one of my favourite restaurants to visit. I love the small intimate dining with the authentic decor and food. The staff have always been very friendly and welcoming and have been super helpful when we have brought the children, helping to find something for the younger pallet. The Red River, is the best Thai Red Curry I have every had. Love it!

The staff are friendly and service was good. However, the dishes are expensive but the portion sizes are small. The Sweet & Sour Beef had 3 2cm x 1cm slithers of meat. Paid nearly £17 for this course but left the restaurant still feeling hungry.

Loud place, quite crowded, as you'd expect on a Saturday night, but the food was delicious. We got Pad Thai, cashew stir fry and teriyaki noodles. And ice cream for dessert. The waitress was probably learning, but we got everything we wanted on time so no problem at all. The portions were sufficient and it really was delicious. Definitely worth recommending.

I have gone to this restaurant on several occasions it is excellent. On the last occasion they mistakenly overcharged me. They phoned me on the same night to apologise and made a refund over the phone. I am so impressed with there customer service and highly recommend them. I have tried to book tonight and been told I have to give them credit card details which seem a bit rich on the basis they tried to overcharge me. I have proved that I always turn up! Totally ridiculous!

Difficult to rate as the food was delicious but the service was appalling - second time having the same experience there. Our initial drinks for 3 people took half an hour to appear. Second visit to this place, the first visit in the summer was great so decided to ignore some of the most recent poor reviews and came up trumps. Whatever service issues others have had seemed to have been sorted. The orders, drinks and food were all served promptly enough and the food was generally great. Only niggle with the food was that the tempura vegetables were a little bland however there's not much you can do with an onion ring to be fair so maybe go for the meat is murder options. Absolutely disgraceful take out service. Ordered 4 duck spring rolls, coconut rice and deep fried tofu for the princely sum of £25! I was expecting good things for this price. I have never been so disappointed in my life! The spring rolls were maybe 5cms long. £9.95!!!!! No garnish no anything!!!! Just wrapped in brown paper.when I called to complain I was told that prices had gone up. When asked what I would like them to do I asked for a refund and was told that is the standard portion size. The tofu portion size was just as disappointing for £9.95! If you are on a diet and want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on not eating much this is the place for you.
