A really great place for your Indian meal. Takeaway available too. Very friendly and reasonable prices. Very popular but booking is not always necessary. Well worth a visit.

Came in for a meal today and the food was well spiced and very lovely, the flavour was delightful with very attentive and kind staff. One of my favourite indians so i always revisit and is a most definite recommend

Edit: Sad to say, the last takeaway was decidedly mediocre. I no longer recommend. Best Indian food I've had in a long while. I ordered 5 dishes and they were all well-spiced, with deep and complex flavours. The portions of meat were generous and the tikka had a delicious, slightly charred flavour but was still tender and juicy and didn't get lost in the sauce. I've been searching for a good takeaway and have tried 4 or 5 locally that deliver, with very disappointing results. This restaurant doesn't deliver to my area, but it's worth the effort to collect it. I have travelled (contrary to the opinion of one reviewer) and would say that the quality is up there with the best, including a restaurant at one of the Taj resort hotels. Will definitely order again.

I ordered a takeaway of Chicken Korai and Lamb Biryani, it has to rate amongst the worst meals I have had recently, completely devoid of flavour and my wife's was missing the sauce so was basically coloured rice and boiled chicken and rice. Previously been good as we are long repeat customers but standards have significantly dropped and not cheap £40 for a takeaway. My Tesco ready meal curry was better. As a local that's tried all local curry places please go to the Indian Olive half a mile down the road, it is much much better

A well presented place with nice staff, The price was very fair. My Family however, thought it was awful. But to hell with them, I enjoyed my meal and would go back again with others. One thing I will say that did brush me the wrong way was that the ambient music was stuck on repeat, (Indian woman singing) After sitting there for an hour, it may start to get on your nerves.

Booked a table for 7 30 had a 10 minute wait Hot plates came My food arrived 10 minutes later My wife's food 10 minutes after mine I'm not being funny but we both like to eat at the same time No hot towels or refreshers How they got into the curry awards is beyond me

Food was wonderful. However, we had our 18 month old with us and to our surprise they had no baby changing facilities. They told us to change on the floor. That really has to change. I’m aware that it is an Indian and why would you bring a toddler there but it was my son’s birthday and he wanted to go. These services should be there anyway. As is say food was great just let down by the lack of baby changing facilities.

It's was outstanding experience 👏 👌 Food and service was spot on waiters we're attentive, asked for break in between my starter and main they timed it very well out of all thing the view was breath taking. We will be back again.

At its' best dining there - good friendly service and a varied and interesting menu - the wines are good vaue as well. Takeaway not quite as good, but still good value.

Moved recently to the area, was looking for a decent Indian to try, got told to try Britannia Spice on the parade in parkgate, Food is amazing, the service was incredible, what more can you ask for?! I'll definitely be back to try the recommned Seabass!!! But tonight's Lamb Shank was simply heaven. 10/10

I have been thinking of trying this restaurant for a while, but it never looks attractive from the outside, and the reviews online are mixed, which is a shame as the restaurant is lovely inside and the food is good. The menu is good, not vast which I like, and plenty of fish dishes to choose from. The poppadoms were fresh and crispy and the pickle tray was also good, both value for money. The fish dish was very good. The fish was nice and chunky, well seasoned and actually tasted of fresh fish, which may sound daft, but at times you can't taste the fish. Would I recommend and return. Definitely, the food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. If you like my honest review please follow me as I have a lot more.

We have been to Brittania spice several times and always had excellent food and service. Has the ownership changed? The food was awful! Bland, generic, sauces. When I complained they just added chilli sauce. Basically inedible. Very disappointed!

1st visit..service was attentive and friendly and menu gave great choice and value. Would recommend for groups and families ..thanks

We ordered a takeaway last night 2 starters and to mains and rice chips naan bread. They food was beautiful arrived hot and in half an hour. We really enjoyed it thank you. Xx

Ordered a delivery which was over 45 minutes late. A Saturday night so understood they could be very busy. However when the food arrived it was ice cold which not acceptable. Ruined takeaway didn’t enjoy it at all . Will say food lovely when you eat in restaurant, they need to work on delivery orders , as that rubbish! Definitely won’t be ordering a takeaway /delivery again from here . Gutted as a lovely restaurant but not a good takeaway service !

Just had my order delivered after waiting over 2 hours and the food is barely warm. Appreciate that things can go wrong when you are busy but at least send out the product in the way it’s Meant to be eaten. The only good part of the service tonight is the delivery driver who was his usual personable and friendly self - a bad night and a while before I think about ordering again.

Very disappointing waited for two hours for delivery kept getting told it was on its way. Ended up eating toast. Would not recommend.

Takeaway smaller portions than use to be, have been a customer since first opened. Need to fill containers up. The food is amazing though.

Great food, great decor and great location. Service was 10/10. Everything was fresh and the naans were soft and fluffy.

The food was first class. Service was fine. Slightly grumpy member of staff at the bar to whom my partner and I were making payment of the bill - did not look up and just grunted at us rather than talking. Other than that though, a great place and as I say, the food was first class.

Their chicken madras is the nicest ive tasted, i always get complimentary popadoms with my takeout plus they are very fairly priced.£59 family of 4 with lots of sides chips and 4 naan breads, same meal at previous indian was £89.

If you think this is a good restaurant you clearly haven't travelled much. In steady decline for the last couple of years, avoid.

I’m not a massive curry fan and so I always go for the chicken dupiaza whenever in a curry house, so I can compare exactly between venues; and this was excellent quality. All of the meals were very tasty and a good portion size – no complaints whatsoever. Would highly recommend, and would be more than happy to visit again.

Takeaway. Probably the worst curry I have had in 30 years - a sweet red sauce and a few bits of lamb. It reminded me of moving from Southall in west London30 years ago- terrific curries to Liverpool (at the time dreadful - now excellent). Where did it get those good reviews?

Popped in on busy evening about late tea time for a takeaway. Twenty five mins was said to me. People were being asked to come back to done as was so busy! YES, it did take 35 mins and it was GREAT. Tasty prawn puri with super spicy jolokia although I couldn't really taste or see the spinach in it. Keema pilau rice was to "die for" and a really nice touch was the extra poppadom and onion and delicious rialta. BRILLIANT in all. WELL DONE.

We have been a few times, this last time we used the Meerkat meals offer with 2 for 1. Prices are reasonable anyway, and the food is very good. Service was excellent and they were quite busy. Highly recommended 👌

Been to Parkgate for 40 years. Missed this great restaurant for the past 14 years. Trying to think of a negative to be honest.........Great meal.

Excellent quality food. One of the best Indian restaurants I've visited in quite a while. Service second to none. Tables spotless set out perfectly. Toilets immaculately clean. And given it's location on the Wirral, very competitively priced. Will definitely be back!

Lovely meal tonight. Had popadoms and dips, chicken chat starter, lamb korai my friend had vegetable sagwala pilau rice and peshwari naan. Couldn't fault it. Naan was a little bit on the burnt side but still edible. Will definitely be returning with family 😃 also take meerkat meals discount so even better

Went for an early Sunday lunch at a very quiet time. Two menus to select from, the main menu and a special menu with a more restricted choice and lower (fixed) prices. Great food and service.

Working away and fancied a tikka masala. Enjoyed it all. Very filling, would definitely have it again.

Totally rude restaurants. Rude waiter. I came at 6:30pm , at that moment the restaurant only have 2 guests in side . Over 99% are empty. I came and said I would have a drink. And he said ok and have a seat. I ordered a beer and a starter , then I have to leave . However , the waiter rudely replied I must order some food because it is a restaurant. So ridiculous that I never meet . Now I know why that restaurant is empty during dinner time

bland, greasy and utterly tastless.. come on guys you need to add 3 times more spice i ordered a med heat and a hot both had no tadte at all

Being a wheelchair user we had checked that it was accessable, yes for manual wheelchair but not for electrical, luckily I have a small Kushal carbon fibre wheelchair, upon arrival at the restaurant we had a step in the entrance to get up into the porch then a very tight left turn into the bar, my wife pushing could not turn the chair and we struggled for ages while a young waiter stood watching us fortunately an older waiter came along and helped us. We had reserved a table and were shown to it ,friends arrived, and the young waiter came over to take our drink order two gin and tonics one pint of lager unfortunately he did not know what draft beers he had, the last drink was going to be a dark and stormy cocktail which was on the website at which point he realised that he had no pen or paper, back he came to take the drink order again still not sure on the draft beers so my friend looked at the bar and seen the cobra, then it came to trying to order the cocktail no chance so another gin and tonic ordered not a great start. An older waiter came along to take the food order he was great, starter arrived the onion bhaji good but a bit greasy, popadoms and chutney perfect. On to the mains I had garlic chilli chicken which was delicious, my wife had lamb passanda also excellent and our friends really enjoyed theirs, the rice and naan bread good to. Time to order more drinks back to the young waiter, again no pen and paper, back he came with his pen took the order 2 dry white wine, 1coke and 1 red wine, the drinks arrived unfortunately the white wine was sweet the older waiter changed them. The next round of drinks ordered from the older waiter no problems I would of given 5 stars if we hadn't had the few problems mentioned as for being wheelchair accessible it is not unless you have a really small chair

This is an excellent Curry House. Recently visited with a group of friends. We all enjoyed our selection of curry, rice, nan breads raita etc. Everything was well prepared and presented by the friendly efficient staff. At the end of the meal we all agreed the food was excellent and the cost very reasonable. Toilets were also exceptionally clean. We will be going there again soon!

Ordered takeaway for daughters birthday, always highly recommend Britannia Spice as food always good but this time dreadful, in all fairness 2 meals were great but 2 meals were a tasteless mush and a Tandoori mixed grill was greasy and I genuinely wouldn't have given it to my dogs. Very disappointed as usually excellent, ruined daughters birthday and not sure if will order again.

The food was great when I got it. Ordered in the afternoon on the app, 3 hours before collection. When I got there the food had not been prepared so I had to wait 15 mins. Don't really want to do that at the moment. The food was very good and they did apologize

My favourite local curry house.

We recently moved to the area and decided to try this place. From the moment we went in until we left we were given amazing service. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The food tastes incredible. We have tried many different places and this is really up there. The value for money is also really up there. We will always come to this restaurant. Cant wait for lockdown to be lifted.

Been to britannia spice many times and enjoyed good service and food. However visited there 7th October table for 3. My dish (chicken) was over cooked and left some as inedible. Staff could of been more polite. Disappointed.
